NVIDIA WON

THANK YOU NVIDIA

NVIDIA FINE WINE TECHNOLO/g/Y

IF YOU WERE A FUCKING RETARD THAT LISTENED TO AYYMDEAD UNBOXED'S BAD ADVICE OF BUYING PASCAL INSTEAD OF RTX 20 SERIES WITH MESH SHADERS, SAMPLER FEEDBACK, VRS TIER 2 & HARDWARE RAYTRACING YOU CAN KILL YOURSELF

Thanks, but I'm still sticking with my 1080.

11 gigs of VRAM

Lmao

I know this is a shill thread but I'm gonna ask anyway, is this a decent time to build a new PC? Mine's getting old and I feel like there will never be a good time to upgrade at this point, I have to bite the bullet eventually

autism

It's a good time to upgrade, chip fabrication is not about to get cheaper.

Alex is a known troon lover, after the bullshit he spewed about Stellarblade and How he sucked off Faggot Age the Failguard, I won't take anything those guys say seriously.

Faggotry aside, a 2080ti was bad value back then, and it's at best OKAY now used for about $250. Good luck finding one in good condition though.

we've reached a point where people are now defending turing cards

Sure just don't fall for the x3d meme and buy a used graphics card

buy a used graphics card

Wasn't this a very bad idea because bitcoin miners would run their cards like they're picking cotton?

no displacement micromeshes

no opacity micromaps

1st gen tensor cores

no shader execution rendering

its kinda dumb to get 20/30 series T B H. they can easily kill 20 series if they wanted to.

bitcoin hasn't been mined on cards since 2013

4x mfg mogs this shit to oblivion. you are a retard if you buy anything other than a 50 series, even a 5060 8g is gonna shit on anything else in the price range @1080p if you arent a faggot who is scared to turn on the features it comes with

Bullshit. Bitcoin was mined in cards by average joes up until just before the pandemic.

I have moved on from Digital Foundry. I don't need to compare myself to them.

2018 top end Nvidia GPU

vs 2020 mid range AMD GPUs

vs 2025 low end Nvidia GPU

Why?

4x mfg is shit on a 60-series card

And we already know RDNA aged better than Turing

just run some tests and if its fucked up, return it. i dont see what the problem is?

I already caught you lying why would I trust anything you say now?

It's been nearly half a year and that's probably the first time big tech page makes Transformer vs CNN test on 20 series GPUs.

Why did it take so long?
I've been saying that Transformer performs poorly on 20 series for months.

STOP BEING POOR AND JUST BUY THE NEW CARDS

If you bought a 5700xt over a 2080ti you could upgrade to 9070xt right now with the money you saved and shit on the 2080ti for less cost overall. There is zero fine wine, just a shit expensive card that cost multiple upgrades worth of cards up front.

People selling this gpu so they can get their hands on the 3000 series only to be butt ravaged by Nvidia

If you bought 5700XT, you missed on DLSS for 4K and ray tracing entirely, until just recently, when you upgraded to 9070XT and FSR4 finally got good.

No, they mined different coins. If you have a seller that sells many cards at once they're mining cards. If that is uncomfortable to you, buy from someone else.

Dlss is a meme and the 2080ti wasn't doing 4k or raytracing recently at all either.

lol stop being poor, you mean be poor and always buy new thing instead of waiting for a good value right?

pc gaming is king.

Dlss is a meme

I used 2070S until just recently when I upgraded to 9070XT.
With DLSS in Performance mode, I could play at 4K or 1800p for performance, with image quality far beyond native 1080p, all the way until I replaced it.
Even in the most demanding titles, I could change output to 1440p with ramped up sharpening and it still was acceptable.

Not to mention 5700XT suffering from driver issues for a full year, from what every 5700XT owner is saying.

Sorry you missed out.

If you have the money for the parts you want go for it. Don't listen to anyone who says to just wait for x to announce y. While true decades back, its getting harder and harder to build a PC at the right prices.

are there any (good) games that uses over 11gb vram?

I know this is a shill thread but I'm gonna ask anyway

Don't ask in a shill thread because you get replies like Spend 5 minutes on google instead and you'll get plenty of benchmarks... actually never mind, google still puts Userbenchmark as top suggestion for CPU benchmarks.

CPU

Budget: 9600X, 7600X, 7500f
Gaming: AMD X3D
Workstation: 9950X, 9900X
AVOID Shittel

If you want to know why: Intel has bigger power draw, gets hotter and has worse performance in gaming. Yes, it's inferior in all the aspects that matter. To make it worse, the only way why they were even close to Ryzen was due to increasing voltage and their CPUs are known to burn out within years, if not months of usage

GPU

1080p: RX 9060 XT 16GB, Poorfag Esports Gaming: Used GPU between $100-$250
1440p: RX 9070 XT, RX 9070, Budget: RX 9060 XT 16GB
4K:Used RTX 4090, RX 9070 XT
Workstation: Used RTX 4090 or RTX 3090
AVOID RTX 50 Series: False advertising "5070=4090 performance!!", unsafe power connector, broken drivers, overpriced compared to RDNA 4 in most regions, threatening reviewers, manipulating and faking reviews, evil anti-consumer company etc.
ALWAYS pair AMD GPUs with AMD CPUs for SAM imgur.com/a/6XSNJ9b

ALWAYS pair AMD GPUs with AMD CPUs for SAM

AVOID Shittel

So what's the alternative if you want an Nvidia GPU then?

still AMD lmao

Nvidia GPU

Eww. Have some self respect.

I have been saying for a while that the 2080 ti is kind of an ignored hero of gpus, mostly due to the hate the 20 series gets in general.

You can grab one for less than a 1080 ti sometimes.

AMD CPUs work great with Nvidia GPUs, it's that you get more performance if you happen to also use AMD GPUs. If you want Nvidia, the only two cards worth a damn are 4070ti Super or 4090. 5XXX have DOGSHIT drivers and I cannot recommend buying a GPU with 12GB VRAM in 2025

X3D is for noobs who can't set their ram timings

because it was too expensive at the time and there was no reason to buy it over a 10xx

The real fine wine is the 3080TI. Dog shit at release but if you bought it then, you are definitely getting your money's worth today because it can still hold its own Vs the 5060.

There is nothing heroic about it. It sucked.

3080ti

against a 5060

The 1080ti which people consider the GOAT card was 30-40% slower than the 3060ti. The fact that the 3080ti is holding its own against the 5060ti is really impressive.

Upgrading from the 3060 to the 5070 cost less overall and gets you more performance now. You didn't get shit for value out of the 3080ti.

Except you were using the 3060 for 4 years.

The thing is that the 3000 series weren't that good. It the 4000 and 5000 series being dogshit.

And? Now you'll be getting less performance going forward and all the while were wasting more power usage.

And? Have you read the subject of this thread?

what gpu should i buy?

x3d meme

Intelpoor cope

Budget?

Realistically, there won't be a better time simply because everything will continue to get exponentially more expensive while only getting marginally better. It started with graphics cards, but now everything from motherboards to PSUs are becoming too expensive too quickly

20 series sucked ass anon

You had 3060 performance for 4 years and then upgrade to better vs having better for 4 years and then having 5060 performance for the next 4 years. It's the exact same amount of money spent, the exact same amount of time being at the bottom of the performance ladder, just doing it all at once with one big purchase costs more power. That isn't fine wine. That's being a dumbass with your purchases.

9070 is a safe bet

i am not that other anon.

The 3080 beats the 5060. The 3080ti will crush the 5060. You are basically paying extra money to get the 5070 4 years in advance. Which is 200 odd dollars.

You save money overall going with the 5070, but you don't have to go that route as you can use the savings on a better card. There is no fine wine in the 3080ti.

It shits on the 5060 completely. Something like 40% more performance. The 3080 ti has 3090 power, with half the ram.

I bought a 1070 in 2017 and I still use it.
The only things I can't run aren't even worth the download

If that is your criteria then there is no fine wine. The 1080ti might as well be rubbish since it was 699 on release and got beaten by a 3060 which was 300 dollars on release.

wait for UDNA and 6000 series.

INSTEAD OF RTX 20 SERIES WITH MESH SHADERS, SAMPLER FEEDBACK, VRS TIER 2 & HARDWARE RAYTRACING YOU CAN KILL YOURSELF

Same thing will happen with blackwell cards because they have DXR1.2 and neural shaders support. And AMD doesn't.

digital shills

yeah the real goats have been stuff like 8800GT, high end performance at budget pricing that lasts for years and years

RX 580 was one, 1060/1660, I think RX 7600 is shaping up to be one and probably 3060 ti also is one.

Of course the absurdly priced top end stuff is going to last a long time, nobody is surprised about this. Good luck with the power consumption though.

nvidia creates a million new fixed function hardware additions to the spec that nobody uses outside of the people nvidia pay to use it

AMD just focuses on compute

their cards last longer

wow, not like this hasn't been going on for literal decades

Don't buy AMD, intel or Nvidia Ada cards now.

They simply don't have future tech in them. Only blackwell has.
Though 5060/8 is shit nevertheless.
Yeah BUT

You can play FF7R on 2060. And you cannot with 5700xt which came out ONE YEAR AFTER 2060 release lmao.
What a joke.
New amd cards like 9070 will age like shit too.

AA1xfX8T[1].jpg - 768x432, 33.11K

ai upscaling but for textures and shaders

Buying any gpu before a console launch is a bad idea. Blackwell will age like shit too.

bought pic rel after almost falling for 3.5 meme

lasts me entire PS4/xbone gen and then some

buy 5700XT right before the crypto/covid price hike to tide me over

recently got my hands on a RX9070 for 700 yuros

Guess I got lucky. Fucking retards who bought a 1200$+ now obsolete goyvidia card got shafted hard.

sapphire290.jpg - 600x600, 66.08K

why?

Because consoles set the minimum hardware baseline.

The only Blackwell GPUs worth buying are 5060Ti 16GB, 5070Ti and 5090.
5070 and 5080 are getting Super versions with 50% more VRAM soon.

And like all the other meme tech Nvidia have been pushing in recent years it will be the standard and eventually mandatory.

I wonder who's behind this post.

whats the best gpu for local ai? I have a thoery in the future games will run ai enemies using LMM logic and require the GPU.

If you bought a 20-series right before PS4 launch you aren't fucked. So what are you basing this on?

I feel like there will never be a good time to upgrade at this point

Upgrade when you feel like it, if you are forever chasing the next big thing then you will never do it.

290

This is the true fine wine GPU.

Nothing suggests that Blackwell lacks some hardware level feature that will be a requirement for next gen console games.

using LLM for NPC AI is fucking retarded
some defense can be made for NN enemy control ala Planetary Annihilation but that shit is so simple it can run on old CPU's easily for thousands of units.

expensive shit 2080ti

or 8gb max

Yeah, no. Bad idea getting turing.

7500 + 7600 seems like the golden build right now

whichever has the most VRAM
But its extremely unlikely that games will make use of local llms, if they ever do it will be a cloud service

Based AMD chad. I'll also be keeping my 9070 XT until games with mandatory neural shaders come out in 2030 or so, then upgrade to UDNA2 or whatever AMD will offer then.

Yeah those LLMs will run in the cloud so publishers have an excuse for always-online single player games.

the gook sims one already does this cloud LLM stuff no?

Even the 5090 is hardly worth it given the disappointing increase from a 4090, ~30% performance increase for ~30% more power draw
Hopefully the 6090 will be more interesting

Fuck you, but an ad faggot.

What game is unplayable for 20-series? Even notorious crap like Alan Wake 2 runs on it.

~30% performance increase for ~30% more power draw

This is how you know they're getting desperate, when their only recourse is to increase power.

As long as it runs then it can't be bad in your eyes?

They aren't desperate they are milking people because they can. They could have moved to a faster node with the 50 series and had better perf (and lower profit margins due to increased expenses). Nvidia gaming sector had the biggest revenue ever last quarter so the money grubbing strategy works.

thanks doc

Not as bad as not being able to run the game at all or having catastrophic performance loss.

retard doesn't understand the entire point of L3 cache

Star Shitizen as a benchmark

lmao

3 gigs more than 5060

If you can get yourself either a 4070, TI or 4080 super for a good price, then, sure is but otherwise no, no AMD is not an option and it will never be.

Because this is inconvenient for shills who want to sell the notion that DLSS 4 is a free quality boost.
