The skill ceiling is unironically high as fuck but people don't want to admit it for some reason because they don't look further into it than "building is just spamming lol" which in turn makes the skill gap pretty big in build modes

Anyone who has watched Tfue knows he's got very good aim, but even he couldn't keep up anymore with younger zoomers who could build like they're on crack. At the highest level, Fortnite requires an insane amount of skill. Fortnite isn't just all aim. Is it the highest skill gap game? Possibly. Someone mentioned Quake or Unreal torunament, but I'm not sure about that. Movement is a skill, but as complicated as building and editing? Don't think so
I've played fps games all my life since early CS, and I've spent a lot of time in kovaak. I play worse than my brother who prefer rpgs and never launched kovaak.

End games in comp fortnite are super fun to watch, and to play, honestly.
The issue is actually getting to the end-game in those lobbies because it's pretty much;
Drop in -> loot up and farm mats for 5 minutes -> spend the next 15 minutes just playing for position and try not to get hit on rotations -> now you can finally play the game in the last 2 minutes

I have a pair as well, and they are comfortably the best set of headphones I've ever used for single player immersive gaming and also multiplayer competitive gaming. When I'm playing any type of game, I put on my HD 800 S. Now, are they worth 1300 bucks (on sale)/1800 bucks? Absolutely not. You can get 90% of the performance by getting a ~$500 headphone. I am fortunate enough to have a lot of disposable income so why not?
Also, I don't even enjoy using these for the majority of music that I listen to. When I'm listening to music, I literally pick up my Chi-fi ~$300 IEMs or my ~$400 headphones.

Skill gap as a term doesnt make sense. Skill floor and skill ceiling do. E.g. Call of duty has a high skill floor ie any idiot can boot it up and get a kill. Dota has a high skill ceiling, no idiot can boot it up and get a kill

fortnite is randomizer slop. you drop into a random map with random assets and either get sniped by someone who landed earlier than you from 30km away or you manage to get the drop on someone, then run around like a chicken with its head cut off in a desperate attempt at avoiding the same fate. the game only "starts" when there's less than 5 people standing, and that shit's boring as sin for the vast majority of people who have to sit there and wait for their session to conclude before they can try again.
