Poorfag here with a dell pc

Poorfag here with a dell pc.

Should I add a 1050ti or just upgrade the psu? I'm thinking of using a thermaltake 600w. I might build a better pc later on but I got this just to mess around and learn on.

I threw a 1050 Ti mini in a dell PC back in the day and it served me well, was good enough to play a lot of PS3-tier stuff

What do you do for a living?

At this point you could probably buy an old card like a 980 for cheaper and it would be a lot better. I think even the 970 is on par or a little better than the 1050 ti.

What's the CPU like? No point throwing on new PSU if you'd be CPU-bottlenecked anyway.

Why are you getting an almost decade old gpu? Aren't there more modern budget low power graphics cards that will give you way better performance?

Shit psu. 300w

I might build a better pc later on but I got this just to mess around and learn on.

put this money into finding the best cpu and gpu you can find, you don't need to learn on a beater pc, pc building is not equivalent to serious vehicle repair.

I might just throw a 1050ti in it. It'd only be about $200 altogether and I don't play modern slop.

you can't upgrade the psu
it's a dell, it probably doesn't have a standard power connector for the mobo.

there's no point in upgrading the psu for zero reason, and you don't need to upgrade it for a 1050ti anyway iirc.

I would just put a 1050ti and call it a day then. It can run fine at 300w.

and don't blow $200 on a fucking 1050ti, you should be able to get one used for less than or around half that price.
a 1660 should be able to be bought for sub 200 easy.

Eh, I get why people want to learn the ropes with old stuff. Even basic part swaps can be pretty stressful if you've never done it before.

I saw someone fit a thermaltake 600 in it.

It's $200 for the pc and 1050ti.

Make sure you can even add a gpu to it. I had a dell when I was a kid and I bought a gpu for it but then it turned out the mobo they put in it didn't even have slots for gpus. It was just integrated graphics only.
Dell cuts costs anyway they can

Don't be retarded

Rx 6400 is 50w
Gtx 1650 is 75w
Rtx 3050 6gb is 75w

All these cards use equal or less power to a 1050ti and will give you like double the performance.

There is nothing stressful about building a PC in the modern day. It's literally easy as fuck, 8 year old are doing it.

1050ti is fine OP. I had one a few years ago and it ran everything fine.

I would just buy a cheap "gamer" pc from newegg. You can get one with a 1050ti for like <$400 last I looked (i bought one for my gf to play vintage story)

it's not a bad idea, workstations can be had for like 50 bucks that would run csgo fortnite shit all day and night.

the problem is it being a dell.

they probably bought an adapter to put the thermaltake in it unless dell stopped their retarded connectors.
$200 for the whole thing isn't terrible though depending on what the cpu is. What is it anyway?

also i just got a thermaltake 500w a few months ago and it kept making my system crash, I put a different older 500w in the same system and it started running fine.
I can't return the thermaltake because its past return date so I'm going to have to rma it.

Doesn't the 1650 require a 6 pin? I don't have one.

the 1650 require a 6 pin

google that.

some require 6pin, some dont.

It was a 600 smart and it fit right in

What is and what isn't stressful is entirely subjective. But you did eat breakfast, so how would you know?

well all you have to do is count the pins and you can figure out if its going to work or not.

hp and dell use to have proprietary psu setups which made them a pain in the dick to do anything with them

also you never mentioned what cpu it has.

You plug in pins and sockets. You can't even plug anything into the wrong port. If you think building a PC is hard, you might be a retard.

it's not a bad idea

it is a bad idea. wasting money on a starter pc when you intend to build a proper one later and going cheap on parts. don't waste any money on the starter pc and put all of it towards the core of the new pc and you'll be able to get into higher performance tiers with the same amount of money. if you intend to use the starter pc for a media center or something down the road then that's maybe a different story.

get a job

if you did, you wouldn't have to waste time on this shit

Yeah, it's annoying like that. The listings do their best to be as vague as possible on this, I remember MSI Ventus changing the fact whether it needs power cord between V1 and V2 edition of 1650.

No, you're clearly retarded for not understanding that SOMEONE ELSE might find it hard. But you didn't find it hard, so nobody can find it hard, hm? Do you get it now? Or are you actually retarded?

Kek dumb wagie. Even if I had money I probably wouldn't spend $1000+ on vidya.

that will do a lot sure
had a 1660ti in my old dell rig, fit snug which is what matters make sure it's all compatible
it'll run anything within reason

If you don't understand something as simple as a glorified Lego set for adults, you're a retard.

he could sell it on marketplace for as much or a little less than he paid to put it together.
unless it has a i5 2400 or some shit, we'll never know because OP won't fucking tell me.

you already posted this thread faggot

SOMEONE ELSE might find it hard

reading is hard until you learn how to fucking do it.
spending an hour to build a computer is alot easier than learning to read, and yet you learned to read.

Posts like these are so pathetic. Who cares? Do you constantly scan Anon Babble like a wannabe janny? The post is somewhat vidya related, who gives a shit if OP reposts a week later?

If you don't understand theory of mind, you're a retard. At no point did I even state I find it hard, but clearly such nuance flies straight over your smooth, smooth brain.

nooooo stop paying attention to the spambots posting the same shit over and over noooooooo

die

1650 doesn't require power from the pcu

That Dell PC has a custom PSU. You can't switchch to a stronger one since it's matched to the PC.

Funny how you clearly don't know how to read, imbecil. Back to school you go, Tim-Tim.

You can literally quit right after you get your paycheck if you only want enough money for a new pc, you fucking retard.

nooooo, don't ask legit questions more than once, there's porn threads and political baitfests that need all that bandwidth!

Die twice.

and you can't build legos.

I think he watched some youtuber or redditor do it or something and it does work.
I brought up the same concerns though. Dells are stupid.
