Literally every single change except for navigable rivers was to the detriment of the game. Every single one. And they had the gall to charge $70 for the game, $100 if you were a retard who bought the deluxe edition for early access.
These ghouls had the temerity to release a Civilization game without any form of playable British Civilization. No Anglos, no England, no United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
And then they charge you DLC for the privilege of playing the most historically significant civilization in the history of our planet.
almost half of civ 5
KWAB
Holy fuck how does it have so much extra minibuys when it hasn't been out for a year yet?
I enjoy the conspiracy theory about Firaxis copying Amplitude's homework, and Amplitude intentionally sabotaging Firaxis and SEGA by making humankind intentionally shitty.
It worked too, now they are independent again and going back to endless series.
Apparently $70 base game price wasn't enough.
hasn't been out for a year
It launched only 4 months ago. Less than a year is underselling the greed.
You just know that the leftist retards at firaxis saw civ switching and jizzed themselves, then added a bunch of nobodies as leaders to further tank the game
ever since covid all these corporations have been committing DEI sepuku. releasing bomb after bomb after bomb yet they still stay afloat
KWAB indeed.
Ubishit is in the process of dying and has severe legal trouble. These companies are not immune to shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly.
Harriet Tubman of China wants to trade with you.
I'm glad I discovered opioid addiction. I'm afraid of what I might have done in minecraft if I didn't plunge myself down into this void.
This pic had to decrease sales by 100,000 itself
many such cases
Civilisation is the most boring strategy series ever. If you played one, you played all of them.
They're all outrageously expensive for what they are, too.
Reminder that the civ switching is done because they think a late game civ being good late game is bad game design. They literally built the game around a way to make everyone more equal per era and they somehow managed to make it even more unbalanced.
I HATE HEXAGONS!!!!!
Still playing civ 4, the last good one
Civ6 is that high because they gave it for free right?
It has by far the most content and is the most recent one.
7 is more recent though
It will be once it leaves Early Access.
I bet Firaxis has a big red button labeled "Hitler" to be used if they're ever in a dire financial situation.
6 has criticism that some leaders barely have had any cultural or political significance like Kristina or Wilhemina
make new ones that aren't even leaders
What did they mean by this?
Reminder that the civ switching is done because they think a late game civ being good late game is bad game design.
No. It's done to sell more DLC. Everything in the game is done for that.
It's kind of funny that even the most avid fans on youtube abandoned the game to play other shit.
Harriet Tubman
They put her in the base game, because no one would pay for her.
This image is misleading. All those straight edges aren't straight in-game; they are hexagons and you can't have straight lines with hexagons.
I hope you Floyd yourself
That history is patriarchal and all the ignored people in history were TRULY the great people while all the great people in history don't deserve it.
Misleading
Retard, it's literally screenshots of the in game maps. Take it up with Firaxis.
Yeah, it was always a retarded excuse. They could've always balanced it so that late game unique units/improvements/buildings/etc are more powerful than early game ones to balance for the fact you have to survive longer before you get your power spike, but apparently that's too difficult.
Do you think people would buy Civ 7 to play as Hitler? Especially since Germany is a late game civ in 7 meaning you have to play as non-Germans for 2/3rds of the game before you can larp as the Nazis.
amplitude was playing 4D chess by tricking firaxis into killing Civ so they could corner the market with endless legend 2
They didn't balance lategame at all. Only the first age, which they shipped to reviewers.
Those are screenshots of the minimap. not the ACTUAL in-game map.
I still can't get over this piece of shit being on the switch lmao. Absolutely nothing against the console but come the fuck on what a giant red flag, putting a strategy game on the other consoles was already an idiotic stretch.
kristina is mostly known for abdicating and fucking off to vatican
what the fuck were they thinking
awesome music stuck in a dogshit game
what are some other examples?

Good female leader choices in Civ 6:
Victoria
Tamar
Tomyris
Lizzie 1
It's dire
In the end humankind did end up being the civilization killer when you think about it
Humankind would have been a success if it weren't for the white woman and black man holding hands on the game cover.
Hilarious to put Cleopatra in that tier when it's literally the only female leader of Egypt anyone in the whole world knows.
I'm talking about the standard Civ formula. Panzers should be significantly more powerful compared to their contemporaries than Legionnaires are because you have to survive for 200+ turns before you get a Panzer as opposed to the 40 - 50 turns for a Legionnaire. Americans getting their uniques online should be game breaking because you have to allow America to exist unmolested for hundreds of turns before they can produce anything, meanwhile Egypt should get only a mild power spike early because their uniques should be coming online within a couple dozen turns of starting the game.
Sogno di Volare>Live Gloriously>Tera Nova>Baba Yetu
CIV4>CIV5>>>CIV6>>>>>>>dogshit>>>CIV7
YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND< CHUD!!! WE NEED MORE WOMEN LEADERS!!!!! WE NEED MORE NEGRO LEAGERS!!! and if possible they must lead all nations historically. As we all know Mansa Musa was canonically the president of the USA in 1204.
She's literally the 7th Cleopatra and wasn't even a ruler in her own right, just a co-ruler or a figurehead her entire life. She also lost Egypt's independence for nearly 2,000 years, since Egypt wouldn't be fully independent again until the 1950s. Not only that, but she was born closer to the Moon Landing than the building of the Great Pyramids, so having her represent Ancient Egypt is silly.
Hatshepsut will always be the only viable female Egyptian leader because she actually ruled and was a pivotal world figure of her day. That's why she's been chosen for other Civ games.
Historically Important
woman
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE: ALL of them are "Literally Who", some are just fiction on top of fiction.
wilhelmina ran away during the war to hang out with the Enlish royal family and started the first podcast to tell her literally dirt eating people to hang in there
Kupe is probably not even real
Ludwig bankrupted his country
She also lost Egypt's independence
On paper yeah, but that had long been gone in reality
It's not the black leaders, it's the women leaders. Firaxis has been trying to hit 50/50 gender parity for a while. There's never been an issue with getting historically important black leaders. Shaka Zulu has been in every game since the original.
This 50/50 gender parity bullshit is why England will never get a King, since England is one of the few civs with interesting AND important female leaders. Firaxis can't possibly pass up the opportunity to shove in Lizzie, Vicky, Anne, or etc since then they'd have to figure out some other civ to give a female ruler to. So we'll never get Alfred the Great or Henry I or Henry V or Henry VII or Henry VIII
Eleanor is a pretty big figure.
The Ptolemies were hardly different from the other pharaonic dynasties. Saying Egypt under the Ptolemies wasn't really Egyptian is like saying England under the Hanoverian Dynasty wasn't really English because they had a German king.
Shaka Zulu has been in every game since the original.
Shaka Zulu is my bro. I am sorry to the african people for disrespecting them. The problem really are females and simps. Black bros, I am sorry.
Shaka Zulu has been in every game since the original.
I don't think he's in 7 actually
I've no idea where you got that from but that's not what i was implying. They were already a client state to Rome before her.
I won't be upset with my trade deal wife being in. But I do think someone like John Lacksland would make for some cool mechanics.
Game marketed as 'The civ killer"
Everyone laughs at it and says it will obviously flop
It obviously flops
Firaxis is the only one actually scared and decides to copy them
What were they thinking?
They were already a client state to Rome before her.
Yeah. Augustus reformed the whole thing to tie it closer to Rome.
ok what? this can't be serious.
They did end up being the civ killer.
I can get germany being a harder one to scrounge a leader up for because of it's fractured existence but holy fuck is ludwig a pants on head retarded choice, worse than kristina or jadwiga by a lot, at least they are actual representatives of their civs while he was just a modern vassal of a region, albeit large in actual germany
You do realize that Shaka Zulu was not a pure African leader, right? He was heavily influenced by colonial activities and theories after seeing the conquest of his neighbors. He's an oreo in leopardskin.
I know a good leader for Germany but.... he only exists in mods.
Frankly, Humankind isn't even that bad, but boy did the marketing do a fucking number on any interest people might have had for it.
one good looking and attractive African you call him white as soon as you can...
It's okay, we had Shaka and Shaka (in drag) to lead the Zulus in Civ II so he can sit out for a game.
What's even crazier is that Gandhi, Montezuma, Genghis Khan, and Alexander the Great, the other 4/5 perennial picks are out as well. They were in every civ game alongside Shaka and now all 5 are gone.
It's true. The only black leaders in Civ 7 are women. Harriet Tubman of America and Amina of Nigeria.
the 5 bros that build Civilization from the ground up : the african warrior, the mongol wrath of god, the peaceful jeet, the conqueror of persia and the .... aztec .... All gone. Replaced with women. DEI is getting crazy.
Ludwig was an interesting pick. They didn't choose him for DEI reasons but because he's an incredibly unique historical leader. Sure, he fucked over the Bavarians, but he didn't lead them to ruin. He was just an insane 19th century noble obsessed with fairy tales who built a cool as fuck castle that I actually visited. Oh, and he was a Richard Wagner fanboy.
I don't mind obviously insane and villainous leader picks. You can't tell me Commodus or Caligula wouldn't be sick as all hell to play against.
Fucking hell, they may be lunatics but that's what makes them fun
tfw you don't get to LARP as bloodthirsty cultist lunatics capturing everyone to sacrifice to Huitzilopochtli so the sun continues to rise anymore
It's not fair
They really did.
Wasn't the main character in the ads a black girl with blue hair?
You have to admit, he built one of the sickest castles ever made. That's got to count for something.
Not even Napoleon could save it.
Franklin
Machiavelli
What the absolute fuck.
real leaders here: Augustus, Franklin sonichu creator; fucker of barbara, Catherine the fat, Charlemagne the jew lover, Isabella muh wonder in Christ, Napolean the small, Pachacute, Xerxes the big dick.
The others are a meme.
not american, but wasn't Franklin a real leader and not a meme?
Friedrich the Great was a good choice too.
yea, its true. They just went so far on memes, I started seeing most of the "leaders" as memes and missed some that were not mems.....
What people who do this shit do not understand that the more they do this the more people will assume that all the leaders are memes.
No, he's basically the world's most famous public servant.
He was a leader of the Continental Congress (precursor to the US federal government), the chief US diplomat, the leader of Pennsylvania, and likely would've been president if he didn't die from old age before his turn.
He's the most important non-president in US history which is why he's on the $100 bill. Author, scientist, diplomat, delegate, commissioner and signer of the Declaration of Independence, and fucker of French women.
His house is one of the only historic buildings left in Philadelphia.
