Morrowind pure mage

morrowind pure mage

How are you supposed to survive in cramped dungeons? pParalyze spell is too expensive and hard to cast and everyone just runs past my trash summons

tfw no bipolar god complex Chimer gf

Better get comfortable with close range combat, because Target spells are too expensive and difficult to cast at low skill levels.
Visit a Spellmaker, create strong touch spells and touch grass.

You can cast invisibility to get them to focus on your summons, mark/recall can give you some space, you can fortify speed, or jump/levitate to a place the AI can't reach you. While using destruction be sure to keep race and creature resistances in mind.

sounds like you're not cut out to be a mage. maybe you should try some different styles

Backpedaling. The morrowind experience.

Man when are Morrowindfags gonna move on?

Bound weapons and armor lel
demon tanto from the balmora khajit

Use the same tool any character can use when you need something dead fast. Spam enchanted items or scrolls with destruction effects. Shops with scrolls carry them and they're all over random containers in dungeons. You can find enchanted rings or staffs with similar effects too. You can have 60 fireballs in your pocket that you can throw out as fast as you can left click.

AlmaSEXia owes me sex

Just use stuff like Illusion, Alteration, etc. and go full melee.

Area, always 100

Abuse alchemy.
Spam maxxed spells.
It's that easy.

it's all fun and games until she pulls out a spear from under that loincloth

Buy the Absorb Health spell from Pelagiad and don't worry about getting any troubles from the early game.

Just break the game using exploits like everyone does and cheese the game with retardedly broken op spells.

This is a game that you mostly play to explore the world and story. Combat is completely secondary to the experience.

Haha oh no how big is her spear haha

I played Morrowind main campaign and most all of the guild and house quests but never played Tribunal. What happened with the other two not Vivic members of the Tribunal exactly?

Dead.

summon shit, fly in the air and shit out fireballs

thoughtlessly try to sell a merchant some ebony

crime reported

can't remember what i have is stolen

probably everything

dump my shit into a public box before i go talk to a guard

suddenly the most wanted man alive

brew your restore magicka potions

lexi has a woman moment and kills the autist for no reason (literally) and then you kill her in self-defense

When using conjuration custom spells with shorter duration is mandatory. And while you can't have the same spell effect more than once on a spell, or the same spell active more than once on a character, you can have multiple active spells that do the same thing. No one is going to be running past the 3-5 skeletons you have summoned to guard you. Remember to use destruction spells that your summons are immune to, and you can cast efficient AoE touch spells on your bone wall and damage the enemies attacking it.
Be aware that OpenMW alters AI targeting behavior in ways that make summons much less reliable, in vanilla Morrowind creatures will target the first or closest enemy (switching targets once they take damage), in OpenMW there's a formula to decide which target is highest value, and it can result in them running right past the guy charging at you with an axe and having their timer expire before they reach the archer in the distance.

get to old ebonheart

immediately start going through the containers like in balmora

STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM

How am I supposed to get cheap stuff now at the early levels?

When someone makes a worthy successor to Morrowind. So never.

How am I supposed to get cheap stuff now at the early levels?

file.png - 2550x3301, 199.53K

Get a job you lazy bum

Waiting for Morrowind 2.

pretty simple

azura says no

nerevar is simping azura hard

the three cuntbuddies decide they'd rather be gods than not

and then they cut off nerevar's cock

Just go do Ahnissi's or Larrius Varro's quests, if you haven't already.

Why did they cut off his dick? And his feet...and his face? Seems a bit excessive. And where did Vivec get Molag Bal's penis from?

not canon

...???
Vivec literally admits to it.

replaying morrowind after king's field 4, I noticed that the biggest problem with this game is how weightless and floaty everything feels
there isnt a mod to fix that, is there?

Man when are Morrowindfags gonna move on?

Why should they? They're still getting new content to this day.

When my inventory gets full, i mark, alsmivi intervention, dump it and recall.
So here's my garage sale outside a temple.

An aside, i complete all the mages guild quests for othmura from TR (only 2, but all around one dungeon). Mid reward, but the dungeon, the boss, and the progress I made all the way through this was tremendous. Took a long time too. Very fun, I do recommend.

First of all use enchants and alchemy for your expensive defensive spells. Such spells should include chameleon if you can raise it to 100% (it's easy if you find certain items), levitation to put you out of range and a mix of fortified agility with sanctuary do dodge everything shall you remain in melee range. Use alchemy to increase your health and magicka pool.

Fighting other mages you may want to use reflexion and watch them kill themselves with their own spell.

As for damaging your enemy try to weaken them at first, damage or drain their attritubes, strength is a priority because you can nail them in place while making yourself stronger in melee. Then you may use your damage spells but again that's expensive for something a melee weapon can handle easily. If you suck at melee try summoning bound weapons, they're easy to cast, weightless, fortify their related stats while you have them equiped and have the same stats as daedric weapons.
Alternatively you can enchant items to provide the damage spells if you really want to melt people with destruction magic.

Magic in Morrowind is extremely overpowered once you understand you have all the tools to break the game.

Using calm instead of paralysis, way cheaper.

If you're playing tamriel rebuilt, check out the barrister's guild in old ebonheart, they have a quest for you.

magic

Gay. What are good skills/attributes for spears?

spear, medium armor, endurance

1. Be Redgaurd

Bound spear. I'm serious.
Your average enchanted silver spear is 23 damage + 4 elemental.
The bound spear is daedric, and enchanted with constant 10 spear skill. So thats 40 damage + 10% chance to hit.

I could swear there was an MWSE mod that adds movement inertia to camera but I can't find it, did I imagine that?

Why is morrowind so much better than oblivion and skyrim

devil spear from ra'jirr is good too

how fast would Almalexia be on your dick if you were to get anime isekai'd on morrowind and had some bullshit powers that she did not have? I mean, the nerevarine get assassins sent on his ass starting day 0

pure mage

all you need is one shield

Damage health for a value of 200 kills almost everything, but you can just either get lots of sanctuary points and find out there are many things that ignore it or abuse the potion exploit and become a true god who can cast spells that murder or brainwash everything in the entire loaded cell... Or both.

conjure armor enchantments

now invincible

if you fail at being a caster in morrowind you are hopeless

When will Todd move on from Skyrim?

I often used divine intervention in TR because it takes you to the old ebonheart town square in a huge radius, and the khajiit woman that has her shop facing the square has a ton of money and buys almost everything.

Just slap people with touch spells and make em explode

He did. Into worse games.

Thoughts on the difficulty slider in MW? Have you ever played on max difficulty?

The last thing you see before your feet get cut off

Yes, just so I can extend the period before I become completely broken by a bit. Seriously the optimal way to play Morrowind for me is to retire each character after like two or three questlines.

Next time I do a modded run I'm going to try difficulty re-balance mods like Beware the Sixth House

Honestly I agree with them, how cucked do you have to be to reject godhood at some petty bitch daedra's say-so?

Not sure why they cut him into ribbons after, just chimer being chimer I guess.

mage sucks in morrowind. people say its the best playstyle but they are full of shit. destruction sucks.

It's hard starting out but you really have to make sure your fatigue is at max

LAYERS nigga, LAYERS

he didn't turn invisible

he isn't flying out of reach

he didn't fortify health

he didn't summon bound gear

he didn't use absorb health

he didn't bring potions

he didn't learn Recall to escape danger

Never gonna make it.
Stop playing mage like a fighter in robes.
You should never be in a position where martialcucks can touch you, let alone damage you.

if you mean the vanilla slider all it does is increase phys damage taken and reduce phys damage dealt resulting in you getting one shot a lot and doing sad amounts of melee damage, better off avoiding things like meta stuff and stealing to curb your power

How to deal with reflect magic

When Skyrim: HoTN and Project Cyrodiil get their full releases.

Don't make pure magic characters is the simplest option. other than that i guess dispel or if you're playing dark elf or breton you have innate resistances

31352646336.png - 365x456, 296.04K

This is too complicated. I need a one-button rotation like WoW.

posting this info has gotten me banned from morrowind discords before. fuckem I say I will cheat and go ayy lmao in my alien fantasy land all I want. become ungovernable
I just made a mod that allowed me to regen health and magicka like stamina (still died a bunch, its not as useful as you think and resting is still faster if the tank is empty and the fight just ended)
also gave myself 75 speed and endurance and everything else at 50, with everything except intelligence and willpower locked so I cant increase them anymore. intelligence and willpower were my class stats so they get a boost to 60 in early game
my classes are just all the mage skills except unarmored, plus light armor and short swords.
thats what I did for my first pure mage run. I count summoned weapons to be pure magic and armor is fine for a mage.
oh forgot to mention, at 100 intelligence, my character would have 500 magicka and 1000 with the woe armor. why? cause I wanted to be trigger happy with my spells and wanted to be an altmer and breton with both apprentice and atronach stone while still being a dunmer. still died a fuck ton and it took forever to get any meaningful magicka regeneration done. the regen was mostly so I dont have to find a bed between quests.

Why would you get banned for that?

purists blew a fuse.
I was in some meme magic only morrowind circlejerk discord.
what I described to you is my first pure mage run. I got enough confidence to just do vanilla mage runs after that.
guess my cheating got my access revoked.
picrel is my honest reaction to this development.

Nwah.jpg - 480x480, 29.48K

Gayer than aids, they did you a favor

Why would you join a discord that wasn't just with some close friends anyways

discord

Kys

it was 2018, discord wasnt gay yet
any day now

vivec says that to reach true godhood (become anu or whatever) you need to be one and know no equal. the three becoming gods together ruined it for them. vivec even tells you in game that he hopes you can walk the path alone and do what they failed at. guess azura knew what she was talking about after all.

intervention

The destination spots must be such sweet spots for services, like traders or healers, yet empty.

go to dungeon

Greater Bonewalker FUCKS my strength stat with permanent Damage Strength

can't restore it

have to drop all items in order to move

drop everything, go to a temple to get restored, and come back to get my items

was standing on a rug

a huge number of important items clipped through the rug and can't be picked up again

Ever since I've been traumatized by Greater Bonewalkers and any time I encounter one I go to extreme lengths to ensure it never so much as comes within 10 feet of touching me.

latest.jpg - 570x748, 79.2K

Vivec is also a moron LARPing as a super deep knowledgeable poet.

Everyone is on discord, retard.

Bring some potions of Restore Strength or learn a low level Restore Strength spell. It's easy enough to not get turbo fucked them once you know what they do.

enchanted item of fortify intelligence 400 for 2 seconds

fucktuple max magicka

spend 100 magicka of like 1000

intelligence returns to normal

only missing 10 magicka now

God fucking bless

goes into ancestral tombs without restore strength pots

Classic n'wahs!

Don't most tombs have a shrine literally inside for you to Almsivi Restoration the stat reduction away?

when the mods finally decides to outlaw new vegas and morrowind posts from here and send these fags to where they belong

Magic is OP in Morrowind but spells honestly suck. Just enchant everything and run around blasting people with your power rings while floating.

I have a massive pile of shit in front of the temple of zenithar in narsis
Have 200k drakes in my bag and I use these to restock my gold whenever I get an enchant done

how long can you leave them hanging there before they despawn?

placeatpc dead_skeleton 1 0 0

You mean "why did the Tribunal betray Nerevar" or "why did they mutilate his corpse?" You'll get different answers everywhere you look, but here are my preferred explanations:

Why did they betray Nerevar?

The year was 1E700. Post-Battle of Red Mountain. The Dwemer were defeated but the Chimer were reeling from the most destructive conflict their people have ever seen: Their lands devastated by war, poverty, disease, compounding natural disasters, you name it; toxic ash blocked out the sun, huge swaths of land made uninhabitable, entire settlements wiped off the map. The gods abandoned them in their time of need and their chief was too slow to act, but through the Heart of Lorkhan the Tribunal saw the power to change that. In becoming gods themselves they saved their people and led them into a new golden age...for better or worse.

Why mutilate his corpse

That one's a bit more symbolic. Basically, the Tribunal knew Nerevar was eventually coming back and sought to aid in his resurrection. They might have went against his wishes but he was still their cherished friend/teacher/lover. They took his face so he could return as anyone, his feet so he could walk any path, etc.
....or, you know, it could be just a silly ashlander scrawl with no real meaning behind it. I accept either or

I took over Cyrtumir's manor through judicious use of Command Humanoid and have been piling all my loot in the vault downstairs. It's a nice place and the super rich trader is right across the street.

vault.jpg - 2560x1440, 853.45K

I don't understand how you guys even use Discord. Do you just wander around joining tons of random private servers and DM'ing random people? How do you not get massive social anxiety do this.

cheat mage nwah here.
from 2020 to 2023 I was in the same 3 servers and nothing outside them talking to same 50 people.
havent used it since.
it was a nice place to find friends. you interact with 100,000 people over the decade its been a thing and if you have good standards and filter the trash, you get to find at 20-100 decent frens.

yeah
it actually makes magic worthwhile because it doesn't get altered while you now do like 1/16th weapon damage or something ludicrous

never bothered with tribunal and bloodmoon before

did tribunal first

dark sewers all fucking day

now doing bloodmoon

korean mmo tier enemy spam

Gotta say, it's not very fun.

Items on the ground are permanent, they will never despawn.

Yeah Morrowind DLC sucks. Shivering Isles is the first TES DLC that is actually good.

enchanted items, summons, running around like a cockroach if can't levitate

there are twenty spriggans following me aren't there

Is there any mod that lowers your backpedaling speed?

Can you tell they made each expansion in 3 months

shit. that most be bloating my save up.
how do I make that crap despawn? put them in a container? most of it is shit I didnt want to carry around in dungeons.

It's not a big deal in Morrowind DESU. Savegame bloat due to items not despawning only got bad in Oblivion and Skyrim, mostly because of arrows and corpses.

Are you playing on a toaster from 2006?

no but I know from skyrim that once the saves bloat up, we get the bug of doom(I think it was called)where the game's logic, animation and stuff keeps getting slower and slower.

did they actually get that buttblasted by oblivion remastered?

Tribunal's funny because it feels like a medium-scope "big" mod by like 5 hobbyists.

okay we're gonna make a town and a couple of dungeons and fill them with batshit endgame enemies because people break the game anyway

no you can't go outside the town, none of us are good at external cells, we'll just teleport you in and out of the city and claim to be on the mainland

Is it just me or are the areas tamriel rebuilt adds all cluttered with shit that makes the game run like ass?

I've got three ideas for my virgin TR Hlaalu playthrough (haven't even done the Andothren content). What about you guys? How do you prepare for a playthrough?

1 Cyro-dunmeri legionary transfered to Vvardenfell, falling in with some bad types while on leave.

2 pauper/thief living in a cramped St. Olms apartment with the rest fo his family

Hlaalu Scion (probably of the Oran family) leaving for the mainland due to ambition (and a skooma addiction)

A little off topic, but I feel like this is the first real Anon Babble thread to happen in a long time. We spend so much time talking ABOUT video games that we don't ever get down to actually talking about them.

Thanks, OP. güd thread

Modder syndrome, they can't help but adding more and more and more clutter. I remember there used to be mods to add trees to Balmora that turned it into a dense tropical fucking rainforest.

Name another game we can do this.
I've never fully beaten morrowind

used a lighting mod for a while

in most areas it was pretty good

except they added a light to every single window on every building in Balmora and it made my FPS tank to single digits whenever I entered the city

Modders have no restraint

We've had these threads going since TR released its new update. 500+ posts in everyone of them

Post your system specs

I have a 5800x and 3070

When are you gonna move on from being angry that people like old games better?
Gonna cry about Melee and TF2 as well?

Do you have like 4gb of RAM or something?

A lot of that is bickering about minor lore details like whether Dres's economy is slavery with a little agriculture or agriculture with a little slavery.

Ya but I mostly just see bitching about it and all the same crying and whining and fighting.
Thread's clearly better than most and I'm gonna install Morrowind tonight.

WHAT MODS ARE ESSENTIAL NOWADAYS

it's a lot of agriculture made possible by a lot of slavery

No, the framerate in the cites tanks to like 30 fps and the game has to load navigation meshes like I was running the original game back in the 2000s in the new areas.

outside of the cities im fine.

OpenMW or MGEXE?

Dragons Dogma 2

OpenMW, I'd rather just not play the TR stuff if that's the issue.

I'm not sure how you're fucking this up then, anon.
Everything just werks with OpenMW.
Are you loading in a bunch of other mods or just TR?

True STL only returns 3d printing I think you may be retarded.

if you're running base textures you should be fine. It's only morrowind

It's only the new areas that suck. Everything in the base game runs amazing.

hownu.ru

NTA but I really don’t know what to say beyond “works on my machine”

alchemy, enchanting

Make a spell that gives levitate 1 point on target for a range of 10 ft or so. Should be magicka efficient and enemies will now be way too slow to group up and kill you. You could also do something like a weakness to magicka+damage speed spell to get them to a point where they can't even walk anymore but that will usually be a lot more expensive.

Feels batman

Hurr

huuuuurrr

So, did we come to a conclusion yesterday regarding Dres being an Agricultural slave economy or an agricultural Slave economy?

People said that TR changes the requirements for guilds and makes you do a lot of mainland missions to progress is that true? Does it make it take a lot longer?

Hurr

durr

huuuuurrr

yes you said that already

There's an optional mod you can install that unifies the vvardenfell and mainland guilds, and yes that makes progress slower. I did every mission I could in vvardenfell for the thieves guild and I wasn't a high enough rank for jim stacey to give me the final set of missions. I was confused then, but I don't mind now because I generally like the mainland missions.

Mages guild isnt optional and it is handled terribly. Nobody tells you to go check the mainland guilds for more duties they just tell you you don't meet the requirements. I thought there was supposed to be a quarantine anyway.

"In 3E 433, rumors circulating in the province of Cyrodiil suggested that House Dres had finally accepted Imperial rule and renounced the slave trade."

My guess is that it depends on the time period you're talking about and the Dres were likely transitioning from relying on slave labour ever since the Armistice, but needed to buy time and stonewalled abolition until the time was right.

Agricultural slave economy, not agricultural Slave economy
The farming is for money
The slavery is just for fun

For me?
It's the transitional period between agricultural Slave economy into Agricultural slave economy.
Imperial presence is making it too hard to acquire new slaves so Dres is forced to make better use of the slaves they have, shifting its focus in trying to get more production out of less territory.

these n'wahs from akavir?

Did imperials even fully conquer blacknarsh? I thought the majority of it was inaccessible to non argonians and the hist just do whatever the fuck they want

Oblivion rumor

not canon

Aren't traders outside?

"Most Imperial citizens assume the practice will die out as Morrowind adopts Imperial ways, and the subject excites little passion except among Argonian and Khajiit abolitionists, outraged that the Empire does little to suppress persistent illegal cross-border slave raiding in southern Morrowind."

Valenwood
They are Altmer-aboos

Nigga they from Summerset Isles they old lore they think they people and shiet

oh, thought these were some tang mo'ther fuckers from akavir

we won't need to enforce our ways once they adopt them peacefully with zero issues :)

Optimistic those imperials

What happaned to the Ayelid's that fled to Valenwood? Did the Alessians pursue them?

They continued on to Summerset and became the foundation of the Thalmor movement that would take control of the isles following the Oblivion Crisis

The Great Apes of Valenwood
The Great Apes, or Imga, are native beastfolk of Valenwood. They see the High Elves as their lords and masters, and as a portrait of an ideal, civilized society. Great Apes go to desperate measures to emulate the High Elves: they wear capes, practice with the dueling sword, and attempt to speak with perfect enunciation and courtly manners despite their gravelly, baritone voices. Each Imga bears some kind of title, be it Baron, Duke, Earl, or the like, which they use when addressing the members of the Thalmor (needless to say, there are no landowning Great Apes). More extreme Great Apes shave their bodies and powder their skin white to seem more like the High Elves. They often cut themselves in the process, creating the truly pathetic picture of a naked white Ape, skin dotted pink with blood, strutting around the trading posts of Valenwood with mock nobility. The Imga feel that humans are beneath them as lesser beastfolk, and pretend to find their smell exceedingly offensive - a Great Ape holds a perfumed corner of his cape to his nose when Men are around.

Valenwood also has fairies and centaurs, too, as far as native peoples go. There might be a couple more, but those are what I remember.

You know how queer abolitionists are, let a few raiding parties cross the border and suddenly you're doing nothing to stop slavery.
The Empire does make it harder for Dunmer to enslave men/mer/beastkin outside of Morrowind, the only question is how hard it has become and which families within the House(s) have needed to change their business strategy in order to survive the change.

?

I liked the Legion quest in Narsis where the Empire only gives a shit about a slaver operation because there was one non-beastman on their books

sotha sil deserved way more characterisation
most of it comes from the eso vomit
vivec is fucking gay and i don't care for his pajeet reddit lore

That's pretty reasonable. The Empire is against slavery "only" because of Elves enslaving Men in the past.
Who gives a shit about some barely sentient beast, that's called a pet not a slave.

That's weird, the slave market down the street from the foreign quarter has a whole pen full of non-beasts. (righteously killed all guards and freed them of course)

Love that Almalexia ends up being just a dumb roastie that betrays her husband for power, then goes crazy when that power starts going away(and a few wrinkles start appearing on her face, guess even Gods fear the wall). Imagine if she was written nowadays, they would definitely make her into some tragic figure instead of a backstabbing whore.

Sotha Sil's characterization is one of the few things ESO does right. The Clockwork City DLC was pretty good.

It is tragic and I need to heal her with the virility of my muatra

I think the in-game observations you can make speak volumes. Slavery is thriving in morrowind. Not counting all the smuggling operations the plantations of the ascadian isles are all driven by a workforce consisting of slaves, you have slave markets on Temple, Hlaalu and Telvanni territories. Even the East Empire charter town of Caldera is based on slavery, as are many other mines. Keep in mind Vvardenfell opened up for colonization 14 years ago or so.
