Millenials really played this and think it's one of the best platformers
This game controls like SHIT
Millenials really played this and think it's one of the best platformers
This game controls like SHIT
based 64 still filtering retarded zoomers 29 years later
Millennials are actually buttblasted that zoomers got to grow up with Sunshine and Galaxy instead.
Nah, Mario feels really fun to control in 64, unlike sunshine..
Super Mario 64 Plus exists with optional moveset changes and fixes, zoomoid. Now shut the fuck up. Sure its a bit buggy at times, but you deserve nothing more.
Glover would break your zoomer brain.
Had you criticized the camera I would agree. The control is very intuitive.
You're not going to fool anyone, anon. Everyone here has either played it or watched someone else play it for the first time, and even people who play it for the first time today think it's the best controlling Mario game.
ah yes another look at me, I'm shitting on this thing you liked back in the day thread. KYS
trying to play the OG nes mario and im getting filtered as fuck.
the acceleration feels wonky as fuck and not consistent.
I mean this is bait but you're right, SMW and SMS are both better platformers by far
compare it to shit that came out the same year like crash bandicoot or jumping flash 2 or bubsy 3d then come back and say this
I played it on N64 when it came out and hated it. The controls combined with the camera and the N64 octopus controller make it pure cancer. Sunshine also sucks but for different reasons.
le ebin mellinial vs zoomer bait thread #93936383639364747484
This game controls perfectly to this day if you aren't mentally defective.
Jumping while turning could be a bit wonky, desu. And anything on a slippery slope is completely fucked.
cope
based sunshine is kino
shitting on sunshine
slop 64 wishes it was halfway as good as sunshine
nah mario 64 sucks, sunshine btfo's it completley
skill issue
The limited air control is very similar to earlier 2D games. You need momentum to jump over gaps and every jump has commitment in it. Unrestricted air control has its upsides but it makes Mario feel weightless.
DK64 doesn't suck.
Anyone who says SM64 controls like shit is bad at video games and possibly retarded
expecting zoomies to understand the concept of commitment
cope and seethe boomers
face it, slop 64 is just inferior to the other 3D marios
sunshine btfos slop 64 any day of the week
I actually grew up in the N64 era but I never had Mario 64 for some reason even though it was one of the best selling N64 games. Sunshine was my first 3d mario, and therefore I think it's the best one. Mario 64 fags are just blown away because N64 was many peoples' introduction to 3d video games at the time, especially nintendies. Lol.
Unfathomably based post. Lol.
so much seething ITT kek
millennials really can't accept that mario 64 does not hold up
It's fun. it got some of the best movement in any 3D platformer ever, despite being basically the first one
Mods have only made it even better fortunately, and there is thousands of them
The only times I feel like 64 controls poorly are when you're trying to turn around on a small platform and Mario does a U-turn like a truck instead of just pivoting on the spot
SM64 plays almost perfectly. The only real gripe for zoomers is the camera, and now it's easy to use an analog camera nowadays.
Sunshine definitely feels more fluid and it's a shame that the game was rushed and kind of unpolished for a Mario game. I gotta play more of that one hack, but it annoyed me that the new levels didn't have any music on Nintendont.
Easy to prevent, just let go of the stick, then push it towards the other direction. He can insta-180 turn when he stands still.
So you’re claiming to be 30+ but you type like a retarded 18 year old?
Smarter than you.
Lol.
You're a retarded faggot. The reason SM64 is so good is that its controls are basically perfect. Did you play it on a keyboard or something?
I know, but it's still annoying that I have to do that
be marketer jew
make up some terms to keep track of your target demographics of your ads
these become basically religious icons for millions of people for decades
posts the parts of Sunshine that sre the closest to SM64
Super Mario 3 > Super Mario World
who's with me
KYS
What 3d mario is the hardest?
I honestly thought 64 was the hardest but my friend told me sunshine is the hardest.
I think we can all agree odyssey is the easiest.
Sunshine is by far the hardest
Zoomers are the ones who suck off Midrio 64
This game controls like SHIT
that's like comparing chocolate chip ice cream to cookie dough ice cream. It's personal preference but both are good.
I see the board nigger has arrived
Objectively correct because World is the worse game in most areas.
worse worlds, other than the forest they all feel the same while 3 has distinct and memorable worlds like the ice, desert, and sky
worse map, largely a glorified level select
worse level design
fewer and worse powerups. The cape is overpowered, conceptually inferior and less interesting than the leaf being just Mario with a cape, and is annoying because slowed falling activates while you've already pressed jump and are holding it down instead of happening when you press it. This means slowed falling happens when you don't want and there's less thought using it. You also at times don't want to sprint at full speed with the cape because jumping will make you fly, a state that works very differently from how Mario normally moves and when you don't want flying to happen it can fuck you over. The racoon suit when the P meter is full is better to control and has never cost me a life like the cape being retarded has. Yoshi is okay, but having the frog, hammer, and shoe is better.
worse controls. Mario feels too floaty and almost slippery. It doesn't feel meant for precise platforming. Can also see with the meter when you'll sprint in 3.
slower pace, unlike 1 and 3 moving fast is heavily discouraged. More waiting too.
it's like they took 4-2 in smb3, the level with the exclamation mark and arrow platforms that move you, and applied that garbage to much of World. There's a fuckton of platforms you wait on that move Mario for you.
the 2nd level of Valley of Bowser is worse than any in 3, it drags on too long, and most worst of all has those crushing things that come down and up which you have to try not to fall asleep to as you wait, unfortunately they're prevalent through quite a few levels in the game.
worse aesthetic, worse Mario sprite too
Only thing World does better are the boss fights and secrets, but World has a worse final boss.
gaycube kid lol
It takes like 10 minutes of fiddling around with the camera to learn that the zoomed out Latiku is the best. If you can't handle occasionally hitting the C-buttons, then maybe you'll like the taste of Gerber baby food for dinner tonight.

Just let it go bald brazilian man, no one is baiting, this is not the way to create interest , this kills it
3 doesn't have continues which is fucking horrible
...and prove that Sunshine completely BTFOs 64 in its key area
3's a better game, World's a better base for romhacking
damn that must be rad for people that aren't straight
get gud, modern games coddle the fuck out of zoomers. We had to learn to be good on games that ALL controlled differently rather than literal cookie cutter controls now for games from the last 15 years
isnt that like... literally 1:1 m64 movement ?
Jumping Flash is great, but in a vastly different category.
good effort post
I specially agree with the map, level design and the leaf/cape thing
also I think the music on smb3 is better
no because slop 64 is clunky af to play and has worse physics than sunshine, it also doesn't have the based spin jump
millennial boomers cannot let go of their crustyass ancient platformers like slop 64 and banjoke when newer ones completely btfo them
64 autists will never understand the based movement of sunshine and other platformers
based error solver jump*
the based spin jump
oh ok so it's casual mario 64
I think the pace of SMW is fine, but it very much lacks the variety of SMB3. I wish it had more to it. What, exactly? I don't know. Just... something.
It's not a bad game, but it is bland.
No, Mario is much more responsive while in air and can spin jump. He also accelerates faster on the ground.
Mario 64 is closer to real physics (still fantasy) due to the need to accelerate, stiffer air control and the need of momentum before jumps. He can long jump however.
I got my Saffun N64 controller today.
I couldn't get the inputs to work properly with the Gopher64 emulator on my Lenovo Legion Go, but I was able to play Super Mario Odyssey on my Switch with it.
copy sm64 movement but floatier and with less variance and options and therefore less potential for skill expression
better in any way
kek

the only people falling for your tricks and jewjitsu are other shilling jeets and thirdworlders
actual anon's just show up to take a shit on the board then leave
lol
All it does is stimulate negative discourse surrounding everything involved, assigning pointless labels and 'us-vs-them' mentality to games within the same franchise that are both fun in their own regards. Considering how abrasive this anon is, and liberally populates his posts with buzzwords, I imagine it's just an attempt at stirring up infighting and conflict for his own amusement - a falseflag thread, if you will.
I love both 64 and Sunshine, and seeing my brothers pointlessly fight amongst themselves is sad.
