One of the changes from FL1 is Level5 made the jobs less interconnected, so you can progress one without giving a fuck about others

It's one of the few actual good life sims that does NOT involve a shitty time management calendar system where you have 10 minutes to do something on a certain day or wait another year until you get the opportunity again.
Will never understand how games like Rune Factory, Story of Seasons or Stardew can be considered comfy with a mechanic that literally punishes you for taking your time

The gist of it is that you make a character then pick one of the 12 or so classes the game has and then do some quests based around your class to level it up, the classes are divided in 3 types, combat, crafting and gathering, they complement each other.

So if you are a miner and go get some ore you can become a blacksmith to turn that ore into a weapon and use that weapon as a paladin to kill monsters which might have a material you need to craft a nice hat you can make as a tailor because it looks cool.

Epics online has nothing to do with their store it's a feature for the unreal engine that other games can also use even if they don't use unreal since they have a big server farm. Most crossplay is done through epic now since they give out the tools for free. When a game needs servers they basically have to pick between Epic, Google, and Amazon. Which is why shit like Elden Ring uses epic servers
