Software hacking is entirely dependent on you being able to update to the specific OS version that the exploit works on. If suddenly that's no longer a thing and you're not on the same version that the exploit is for, you're fucked because games are constantly locked to certain OS versions and it requires people to fool around with the files to make them run on a certain older version to play them on a hacked console(this is how the PS4 piracy scene works). In a scenario where you can't side load updates and you're not on the version that exploit is for, you're out of luck and you can't leave it on an older version or else you wouldn't be able to upgrade.

To make matters worse, most hackers now take hackerone bounty money before disclosing hacks and they can't disclone them to the public until the company fixes them so by the time a hack does release, you could have missed your window to upgrade to the hackable firmware. Mod chips should still work but those take a lot more effort(aka soldering) and cost money.

You need to understand that it's a mountain of things piling up right now that has people piling on against Nintendo. They are getting too greedy while leading up to the Switch 2 launch and are rightfully catching flak for it from everywhere. That's why this seems like the entire world is against Nintendo, someone like the video maker in the OP only cares about the right to repair aspect while someone else cares about $80 games, or the paywalled button on the controller, or the game key carts, etc.

Nearly every new change Nintendo is making is being met with derision because it's bad. Killing families being able to play together with a single copy of a game with main/sub accounts is bad(you can do this on PC/Xbox/Playstation still) and their virtual game card solution isn't a viable alternative and has heavy stipulations like needing to meet in person and losing access to the game for 2 weeks.
