Why the fuck haven't you justified your divergences yet huh!?

Beat me to it

Help I’m inside a forest with a golden leaf in the middle and can’t get out because it keeps teleporting me to the same place

Should I wrap up the story, or alternatively, do a lot more mechanics unlock after chapter(s) 6/7? Right now I've just been grinding to have everything roughly at master. Haven't even really touched the island outside of a few houses.

that hairstlye

is that anne?

kek

go in the direction that the little guy in the middle is facing, it's not just a leaf

what makes this a game for women

gee, we may never know this mystery

better to do sooner rather than later because a timegated daily resource you want starts spawning after you start the postgame
also shadow enemies start dropping slates for insanely good recipes and dark fire to unlock those seals

Where the hell do you get the roads/paveing/tiles for your island? It doesn't seem like Marco sells any.

Go play your shitty nu-doom game then and then after you're done grab the rope and make your parents proud for once in your life

you do it hagram build after going through the story
tiles are free!

realistic graphics = man game

non-realistic graphics = women game

you sound like a tranny trying too hard desu
also doom is getting mogged hard by this game, it's been TOPPED on the steam best sellers since it came out lmao

he doesn't know

heh allow me to enlighten thee

file.png - 2560x1440, 2.1M

falling for shitty bait

and you should use the rope after him when he's done

This is the kind of low brow trash that thinks action shounen garbage is of higher quality and romcom and sol series.

why is a nuDoom transsexual trying to lecture people on what is manly or not? You gave that seat up at the table long ago, MA'AM

game for men is when red light green light and slowmo after every dodge/parry

lole

Progress story

How to water

Progress story

How to bridges

Progress story

woman game actually more fun than man game

those dev need to make more game for woman then

have you always spent this much time thinking about what other men or doing or is this a recent development?

Has never worked.
Will never work.

This game is unironically harder than nu-doom, especially at endgame

Is this thing breedable?

Finally got all the Strangelings

Only 6 left to transform back to normal

Got a strangeling power-up from a Treasure Trove

You can power them up 5 times each

The grind will never end

I already beat the game. Is it supposed to be the third option here? I don't even have that tutorial in the guide. Either my game is glitched, or you have to do something other than progress the story.

actively requests you to deposit your belongings inside her

gee anon

Go talk to Hagram again and if he doesn't give it to you then boi you fucked up bad

yes it is
the parts are in a chest in the depths
you're blind and missed it

I assumed it was Olivia but it could be.

You cannot combine inanimate fetish and breeding fetish, it just physically doesn't make sense.

Pick up the thing in B2

I don't understand why people think boss fish are hard

he didn't give his Hagram the oil

bossfish.webm - 960x540, 3.92M

If you can't seamlessly switch between games like DOOM and Fantasy Life then how can you call yourself a man?

some kid actually fell for the “manly media for men” shitpost

Kids really are retarded

Questions about boss fish are coming from people 1 hour into the game who haven't unlocked charged attacks or buddies

3 cooks at the ready

Do you need to pay 100k house upgrade just to get lvl 5 island rating? Already filled my land with max houses and structures

Hazel starring at a box

talk to her

"Mm, this sure is mysterious!"

It's just a goddamn box, Hazel.

I am okay with the post game crafting, but I think making you wait 30-60 hours to actually work on your Island aesthetics was a bad choice

your higher level, have appropriate equipment and buddies cheering
I imagine the people who think it's hard are doing what they do in other jobs and are taking them on bellow level with at best the appropriate equipment and buddies

Schrödinger cat is a thing

Yeah

are you able to see which challenges are legendary from the map?

But what's in the box? WHATS IN THE BOX?

She contemplates more about the nature of the box than you could ever know.
Yes, they're blue.

AREA CHALLENGE: I NEED LEGENDARY TOP TRUE BOW OF TIME (200 POINT REWARD)

I've been leaving these assholes to rot because I can't be bothered to level the crafting I'm not using, wonder if it'll happen to me

thanks

that was me, it happened for cash cat as well in the haniwa village

attempt to chop level 30 tree

boss music starts playing

Hazel just gave me her witch’s broom form as a gift. I’M IN!

How many strangelings are in the ginormia open world? Just wanna know if the last few strangelings I'm missing are all from there

this game explained perfectly

is farming cave stars in the depths really the only way to get marine silk aside from ginmorialand merchants?

Edward rapes Carla behind the scenes

Damn, Level 5...

can't you just buy it at swoleon market?

she deserves it after she made him swallow her goop

Buy it from Marco. You're not poor, are you...?

Clear the first 10 shrines and not a single crafter, fuck this gay map, I just wanted to explore by myself, time to check a map on internet

Can also be done with tortoise stickers

Damn, unlocked the sex scene already.

No crafters..?

file.png - 1149x860, 945.56K

go explore the other parts of the map, there are a ton of crafters in the north

time to rank up his shop then

Blue paint costs 17 dosh to craft, desert log and turtle shell are each 50. 64 dosh in materials per sticker and sells back to vendors for 400 dosh.

file.png - 749x415, 138.62K

ooer

This was it. It wasn't about progressing the story, there was a room in B2 with a bunch of other derelict robots and there was a treasure chest in it with the robot oil. I've got roads now, thank you.

It wasn't about progressing the story,

well it was
you need to progress the story to get to depths b2

My 1000 year old wife...

i take back everything i said gatherer buddies are actually great for speedrunning area challenges if you don't give a shit about excellents

The dragon twist is weird. How much does she remember about being a dragon? By how much do her dragon days color her existence? Is she still Rem but now just with the knowledge that she WAS a dragon and did what she did? Or is she the dragon that decided she'll continue to be Rem?

The Girl Who Steals Time, Sleep, and Hunger

Ignoring the gay meme or w/e is this game worth it? I really enjoyed the first one and put a lot of time into it but I've been burned so many times by sequels that I'm wary of trying it.

Fishing gatherers are the best even if you need excellents because you can set them down to lure fish while you gather something else in those 5-10 seconds.

it's better than the first in almost every way and i'm being 100% serious
the qol features alone are a godsend compared to the first

and cum!

if you liked the first one you will like this one, maybe more

kinda bouncing off ginomorsia. its boring

44 hours in, when just started playing on Friday after work, ffs I almost didn’t move from the couch the whole weekend

She says after the final boss that she is only who she is not because of the dragon blood (she has dragon in her blood?) but because of your friendship and adventures so I guess it's more of a "damn that was crazy I guess" thing for her. Like how Reincarnated Carla is pretty different from Memory Carla.

If I remake a weapon, can I potentially get it to perfect craft from great work along with two new skills or will it stay as great work?

you can remake from great to top
you can't remake from fine to notable ect

wonder if friend would like this game

see on Steam he's been obsessively playing Elin

he recently added Hyper Dungeon Crawler, Echos 1 and 2, Cataclysm, Rift Wizard 2, Caves of Qud, and started playing some RPG Maker mystery dungeon game

Well, this isn't exactly a roguelike, or mystery dungeon, but it DOES have random dungeons, and shitload of grinding like those other genres do, so this should be right up his alley.

how far in are you and how much did you do in it?
i think its enjoyment spikes up when you get the areas ranked up, and then again when you start doing it in multiplayer

, but it DOES have random dungeons

extremely shallow ones

I'm playing the pirated version and deleted the anti cheat and epic game store folders. I saved and came back to the game today and I'm not seeing my save anymore. Where would it be in the game files to check where it is unless it got deleted or something?

Newbie question, I'm still around level 15ish.
When I tried to cut level 20 angel firetree, it gave a sparkling light when its HP is around 35%, is there some kind of gameplay element related to it?

Forester.webm - 1280x720, 2.94M

i've cleared a 1000 year tree dungeon, my combat class is 75 and i'm a minimum of master in every class

i think the issue is i'm very aware of the grind in this. too much travelling time

I mean if we take mystery dungeon I only played the pokemon games but I really wouldn't mind if I never saw traps again and that's kinda all that's different, dungeon wise
You have random enemies, random items... what more do you need?

The sweet spot changed.
Happens every 7-8 hits iirc.

the sparkling light is it changing where the sweet spot is so you need to check and find it again
all boss nodes can do this

i'm kinda feeling it too

the only thing i need to in there is rank things up to 5 and 6 which take forever to get materials i need for literally everything else
i also only NEED legendary materials
if i had back to back legend events in every single zone it would not feel as terrible, but when you're stuck bashing in shitty copper you don't need for 200 points for hours straight it really starts getting to you

I just don't like the lack of other humans around and the fact it's tied to a tragic backstory

You have the humanly intelligent monsters. They even have wives and stuff.

open up a multiplayer ginormorsia lobby and you'll get at multiple forced legendary pops if you play with similarly geared people

kek

everyone was arguing over logical river designs last thread

was thinking about goofy shit like making my rivers/lake in the shape of an apple

I'm not even sure if this is feasible now desu seems pretty ridigd

does this game have the red randoseru backpacks? asking for a friend...

Honestly, I want the Anon Babble anon to give me ideas on how to make my island's rivers and lakes more realistic. Sounded kinda interesting.

that's it? cool

This is a good skill, right?
It sounds to me like the power boost could really screw with getting the bar in excellent range.

its worth it

it lasts for about 3 charged heavies, it's a pretty worthwhile skill

what do marine ingots drop from and where can i find them? i forget and want to finish off my crafts

craft them out of marine ore (purple stuff)
there's a shitload in da finci cave where the golem is

do the dungeons start giving more than just 1 berry thing or do i really have to do ten of them to get the new hairstyles

If it's not a 5 star perfectly made item just sell it. You need to sell a bunch of shit to level the town. Meanwhile getting max rank of the art gallery requires a bunch of perfectly made items to be placed

dont see it, it just reverse the pointer, i dont own them

spoiler

from my experience it's when you stop swinging. I've done 20+ light swings and it only moved when I stopped.

Is there no difference between accessories other than the defense and magic defense? Why would I make the belt over the ring if they give the same stats?

file.png - 2546x1185, 1.72M

Is multiplayer in this game actually fun or does it feel tacked on like Animal Crossing?

Animal Crossing doesn't have you focus on exploring a giant open world or dungeon diving, so...

what do the icons above these items mean? Are these because I had the dlc on my pirated copy?

Cute.

file.png - 555x729, 672.96K

Item drop armor or the artisan set from the colosseum for Miner, Woodcutter, and Angler?

should i play JP or EN if i'm not JP VA autist

There's almost no fully spoken dialogue. It's all short words or sounds. So it doesn't matter.

It's pretty funny how easy it is to rank up the other combat jobs to hero
Especially if you have maxxed out buddies

I think he just wants to put his dick in anything female at this point.

please show me the cute boys in this game

The songs are better in Japanese.

I swapped to JP precisely because of that
If I have to hear EN nommie's overworld dialogue again I'm going to hurt someone

I've been playing in full JP (text and VA) but from what I've read the English voice lines apparently strangely don't match what's being said a lot of the time whereas it matches up perfectly in Japanese, many times they are straight up saying what's in the textbox verbatim. But I'd rather die than play with trash EN VA so I can't confirm that it's true.

cute

boy

Pick one.

playing on controller

dash on RT

cramps my finger after a while

try to rebind on steam

dash on RB is fine but now the menus are confusing

I'm going insane. Am I truly missing something or is controller really not fully rebindable for whatever reason?

Would anything that looks female count?

I like how they sound dangerously cheesy in english desu,

I've been playing in Japanese too, and I've also noticed that the voices seem to match exactly what the text box is when you're out running around. I thought that was kinda neat, but I doubt the English localization went that far.

you have no ground to judge me here this is a cute game now show me the cute boys... it's taking forever to download

It's not. And the buttons you can rebind just let you choose between either "A or B" or "X or Y".

i really wish they made the no life class into an actual class. The final title could even be "Idle-Imp" instead of hero.

I'm not judging you, I'm saying guys aren't cute.
How's this?

colin.jpg - 130x149, 3.47K

With English they say it verbatim for adventuring dialogue from your NPC buddies. For story text you only get contextually accurate generic voice lines, but they don't always match tonally. IE when Rem makes an observation she'll say "I know" with the same voiceline every time whether she's remarking on something serious or finding a cool rock.

Ditto. It would have been kinda silly, in an Onion Knight/Freelancer kinda way, like the FF games.

cute
man i love level5's art style

At least Kikyo doesn't ask for a foot massage out loud in English

Man, that is so retarded. Hopefully there's a patch that addresses this soon.

how does level 5 do it.. whimsybros are so back

threewords.png - 1733x411, 413.6K

Has anyone tried the local coop? Is it just the normal coop or is it some weird mode?

Thinking about picking this game up for my family as they LOVE Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest Builders and this seems similar-ish

it's little brother mode like mario galaxy.

Are the appliques single use? I haven’t used one because I was worried about wasting them but I haven’t seen any news one so I’m starting to think that was pointless.

ez

You're not even like halfway there anon.

You control Trip as a playable character to fight stuff. If you're playing on Switch, you could do more normal stuff if everyone has their own Switch.

To be fair to anon, Frajeel is also ridiculously easy.

life quests all progress even if you technically don't have them unlocked yet

oh fuck.png - 600x1021, 921.65K

especially nice for the combat classes if you're lazy like me and only check in once you hit a rank-locked skill node you want.

I'm searching my memory banks but I can't remember her having an "I know" voiceline in JP. The closest I can think of is "shitteimasu ka?!" when she's asking if someone knows about a cool story she's read. I wonder if they straight up mistranslated that or something.

I dunno, level 80 frajeel was a giga hp sponge after champion.

nyoo...

spend 130k on mats

make 999 of item

sell all of them for 400k

still have over half the mats left over

make another 999 of item

sell for another 400k

670k in profit

Thanks for the info. That's what I figured. Gonna wait and get them a switch 2 copy then when that drops. Maybe we'll luck out and they can game share.

i went for the balloon nose and now he looks like Wario's lost third brother...
here you go, bro

Stickers?

A HP sponge doesn't really matter if they can't hit you or kill your teammates at all. I have a way harder time with certain enemies groups like those paralyzing ghosts who stunlock you for like a full minute and some boss combinations that overlap attacks.

look at the fucking HP regen

a fucking leaf

worth it?

worth.jpg - 1190x760, 203.52K

I dunno, the buddy AI is terrible in this game so despite having a mix of ranged/melee buddies they all just stood in the big gigantic nonozones and died multiple times. Most of their contribution in the fight was picking each other up, and that was when they were level 65, with armor on all of them etc. I just shot frajeel with my magic staff for like 10 minutes.

Yes, this is the best way to get cashnuts. If you're worried you can just sell the low tier veggies.

Is there a list of all the shops in Ginormosia anywhere?

I've never had anything sell from those.

Where do I buy sugar and butter?

When you sell the fan favorites they leave you little handwritten notes about the items. It's adorable. Because of that I wouldn't even care if they didn't pay me.

you get double the cashnuts if they're the favorite so it's pretty good. I haven't bothered to dump any of the higher tier ones to how much they give but base vegetables are only +1 each. Which is still 30 from a full tray or 60 if it's the favorite, which isn't bad when you don't have anything else to do with the vegetables.

I suspect they have different chances to get different bonuses but I haven't tested that yet.

you can make waterfall?

There is no reason to waste materials on high tier accessories at all. You can get double item drop on a one star item. You'll never be able to feel the 10 extra defense or w/e.

Good shit, best base I've seen posted

Sylvia can freeze HP regen. Dunno about other miners and I guess there's also at least one woodcutter who also can do it.

dailies

AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

file.png - 2560x1440, 1.47M

Not sure why they're even called dailies since they're infinite.

Those waterfalls

This really is Human Crossing New Horizons

Cute island, anon

The water could come from underground. There's many rivers that can't be traced back to a single source because they just "spawn". There's one like that near where I live.

out of sight out of mind

file.png - 1104x951, 1.02M

Maybe because the 2x bonus is daily? Doesn't stop me from abusing the skip exploit to double my gains all the time.

the real daily is picking up your free couple hundred flowers that grow in your base

If you're gonna do that, why bother doing the activities?

You also get up to 1k bonus flowers per day for visiting peoples islands and just picking the instanced flowers.

those slutty dressers aren't going to fuck themselves, anon.

only boss trees tho, that tree in my webm is a fucking regular tree, ridiculous

I don't actively pursue activities, I just play the game and check in on them once a while.

tree cutting shrine

fishing strangling

Who would be crazy enough to do that unless you can vacuum them up.

is there a resource on possible rolls for remaking? fancying -charge time for GS but im not sure if it can roll the stat. you can also remake the forager and artsan set lol.

file.png - 853x491, 501.15K

i guess i need to pick up farming now to progress the story?

file.png - 1111x673, 1.31M

Is there a trick to getting boss crops?
My first harvest I had two, haven't seen one since.

fancying -charge time for GS but im not sure if it can roll the stat

they can, but you won't notice it imo, I'll go for charged damage instead

see everyone working together to chop a tree

aggro a monster

immediately run it into the group

hunter life.jpg - 550x600, 76.25K

They'll tell you if you need to, but it's more that you're at the point where you unlock farming to begin with.

fully-zoomed-out ginormosia map shows an island in the southeast corner of the map

no such island actually exists

dlc trust

thats epstein island

No, it's appears at random. You can set your system clock ahead or behind 30 mins to advance to your vegetables if you're focus farming them early on and don't have ginormosia leveled.

How to get redux stones fast?
Just find something to bulk craft from store bought materials for a profit then flood the collector with garbage cheap gear bought from the merchants?

This is pure conjecture and I haven't tested it, but I "feel" like they get better AI when you Power them up as well because my five star buddy perfect dodges all the time and in succession too.

Not really. The level 50 shit for the Eternia collectathon is actually really weak. Just do this:

Get a miner or 3, up to you.

Travel to the volcano in the open map.

Have them break ores while you are using your farmer class.

Stop at level 20-30, only takes a few minutes even with only 1 miner

Spend the resulting SP as you see fit

Go back and get the Eternia Fern

Of course not, the gameplay map is only showing you things that actually exist in-game.

Purchasing tools is probably faster than cradting junk tools.

I thought you needed tools that are at least fine quality so they have effects to get redux stones?

i didnt have any farmers in my party, was able to do it at level 1 farming and whatever hoe i had in my inventory
boosted me straight to level 24

Mage feels super underwhelming ngl
Maybe hunter spoiled me but I'm at expert and it doesn't feel epic

nah you can just throw garbage in, once I unlocked the shop I traded them all in for about 40 stones.

Bosses are easy even when you're 10 lvls behind, but legendary fish fucks, even at a higher level.

the fish i cant seem to do at level 3, whats the fastest way to boost fishing?

How does selling veggies in Ginormosia work? Do I have to return to the stand to cash in on sales? Are the favorites random, because I haven't seen a list since the tutorial stand.

I started with mage because it's my favorite class fantasy and I enjoyed it on 3DS, but I got the first rank up and said fuck this and switched to hunter and never looked back. Mage is fucking terrible in this one. That SP usage buff you cast takes way too long and falls off way too fast. Precasting the armor buff and SP usage buff before combat gets old really quickly.

Get a better rod.

never get hit when buffing as merc

always get hit when buffing as mage

Why would they make it so slow

I'm a hero with all of them Mage sucks ass. The SP reduction buff takes fucking forever barely lasts at all and doesn't actually do anything once you can just chug potions. It's damage is bad but also it loves launching enemies so far you cant even see them anymore. I leveled it up almost entirely through doing high level gathering dungeons and then just jumping off and switching to mage before everyone else finishes the gather.

i miss mage from the first one. at least it had a lot of flavor with the different elements.
I am still gonna stick with it for now as my combat life but man it sucks.

file.png - 765x1351, 218.33K

Mage becomes way the fuck better as you upgrade the skills. Being able to buff/heal everyone in your group and getting a knockdown beam is rad. Most of the appeal of mage is in just being able to hit all enemies all the time though.

Strangling looks neat...

if i turned him back, would he die?

So what’s the best combat life? Sounds like it’s a toss up between Merc and Hunter

i bet its a cute girl

Glad to see I'm not the only autist bothered by the water flow.

hunter get arrow fucking rain

you can even inflict status effect and elemental damage by default

mage

piss ass charge attack

can't do elemental damage despite being mage

i'm still mad, where is my large magic spell, meteor shower etc

It's okay, not everyone can be cool.

didn't someone post a kind of "resource planner" a few threads ago?

This. I miss the elemental stuff. There are some thing about this game that are definitely inferior to the original.

Should I finish the story before fucking with island decoration? I assume there's a while bunch of features I don't get until later.

The only thing I don't like about Fantasy Life is that before I bought it, I was like 14 hours into Expedition 33 and I haven't touched it since, meaning I'll probably have to start that game over again. I've been playing Fantasy Life nonstop.

Most of the appeal of mage is in just being able to hit all enemies all the time though.

How?

Yeah, Mage in Fantasy Life 1 was wayyy fucking better
They could have at least not restricted elements to staves

cute goblin

your normal charge shot pierces i presume is what he meant? It's kinda fun when you line it up nicely.
while your second charge shot hits heavier but only hits one.
And also mage special hits a lot if they are nice and clumped up. But i haven't seen yet how much better the black hole one is.

seriously though where the fuck do i buy cooking ingredients?

If you lock onto enemies your attacks home just like ranger. Just line dudes up and charge attack them until all the small stuff is dead and then spam the heavy charge to chainstun bosses.

each combat buddy have their own unique attack and animation

holy SOUL

Heavy attack is a spammable big AOE around you that staggers enemies

Normal Charge attack is a piercing attack that will hit every single enemy in it's path

Special is a huge black hole that locks them in place and is guaranteed to stop everything it hits

I don't agree with the other guys. Mage in 2 is a lot more fun than the first game in my opinion, you just have worse visuals for the attacks which could easily fixed by making each spell a specific element or something IE pierce attack becomes an ice spear, AOE is a wind slice, etc.

press the material info on the recipe and see if there even is a store that sells them.

potentially
i would've expected a spreadsheet detailing required materials for each recipe

>Heavy attack is a spammable big AOE around you that staggers enemies

They have to be right on you though, and there's enough of a delay that they'll usually interrupt you.

Welp...time to craft him a bad ass sword

Laura's one of the best-looking girls, what are you talking about?

and there's enough of a delay that they'll usually interrupt you.

Huh? You're completely invincible during all charged attack animations. For every class.

Her personality is kinda lame and she canonically passes for a boy

He's talking about heavy attack.

That's what we call a skill issue, anon.

I went in to grind Smoldering claws but otherwise I've been avoiding it while I progress normally. I fear having to max out each zone potentially, hoping I only have to do a few to get materials I need for endgame crafting

I need smoldering claws. These niggers aren't dropping it at rank 3

The heavy attack also charges. All of the attacks charge. You literally do nothing but charge attacks as a mage.

took me longer to rank up the area to 3 than to get the claws I needed to finish off expert blacksmith, but I also have some item drop up accessories on

they're cheering for me while i cut the tree

holy SOVL

file.png - 908x791, 1.13M

No it doesn't. Regular can be fired off in a rapid 3-shot combo. Heavy is a ring attack around you that pushes enemies back, but it has a delay.

nta but you do eventually unlock a heavy charge, though for the offensive spell it's just a really strong projectile that doesn't pierce. I haven't found much use at all for the regular heavy attack, if something gets that close to me I just roll away and create distance so I can go back to projectile spamming

accidentally press keep play instead of skip painter life

AAAAAAHHHHHHHH

with a full squad of crafting buddies they'll use SP restoring items on you when low so you can really push higher level nodes before you get some of the stronger moves for gathering.

Bro you haven't even unlocked all the skills and you're trying to tell me how my class works?

feel like you should play all the tutorial quests because once you finish them you basically never interact with anyone else in that life or your master in any way shape or form. Really my only major complaint with the game, the original would have little questlines per life so you'd go back and interact with your peers and master more often than not at all.

the original would have little questlines per life so you'd go back and interact with your peers and master more often than not at all.

oh, i was wondering if i was going mental or if they really simplified it that much here.
Like never learning what the other apprentice is up to is a real shame.

The heavy attack also charges. All of the attacks charge.

Yes, but no one is talking about the Heavy Charge Attack because it only hits one target.

You literally do nothing but charge attacks as a mage.

No, you do that because you're lame lmao.

The story is almost entirely disconnected from the gameplay this time, it's quite sad since that was the strongest aspect of the original game I'd say.

I'm gonna keep focusing on it, but so far is a disappointment, I mean imagine unlocking Mystic Punishment and then learning it doesn't even pierce.

it splashes

20 hours into the game and have chopped down every fruit tree I have encountered after collecting the fruit once per tree

How fukt am I?

I know that. I don't really find the heavy charged attack that good because in the amount of time it takes to charge up, you can fire off enough weak attacks to do just as much damage.
I have. I'm Master Rank and got Collapsing Star and the charged attacks for normal and heavy. You don't HAVE to charge for normal and heavy. In fact, in my experience, it's been less efficient to use them. Maybe they get better when you unlock Overclock or something.

wtf devs don't do this.

They inflicted defense down, wreck that tree anon

restart your save anon, its over

I don't really find the heavy charged attack that good because in the amount of time it takes to charge up

I use it on bosses/beefy single targets because for me it's doing around 1200 a pop while my regular attacks float around the 300 a hit. otherwise for groups I spam the light charge attack to cleave, with the regular attacks to mop up weak singular targets

They're all good, most anons shilled hunter because it's got a solid earlygame and a lot of anons liked merc's early powerspike because it can full clear entire packs with its upgraded charged light

Better that nothing I guess, still thanks for the tidbit

In fact, in my experience, it's been less efficient to use them

There are no "do more damage with regular attack" effects on gear. Only charged attacks. My regular combo hits for 3 hits of around 600. My charged heavy hits for 2200 and stuns almost anything.

aids

You don't have to go in a circle, you can just move the mouse literally anywhere.

you can go for elemental up stuff for the staves that do specific flavors of damage over charge attack up but yeah it seems like charged attacks are more favored generally.

Do you have down syndrome?

I started with Mage because I remember it being fun in the first game, but felt disappointed by how underpowered they felt. I alternated between Mage and Hunter for a bit in early game, only to drop Mage entirely and start using Mercenary and Hunter. I was trying to keep all my combat skills close to each others but Paladin was lagging behind. Ironically enough, Paladin ended up being the class I finished the main story with because I got their lightning skill which made them much more fun to play.

I miss the rhythm aspect of combat from the first game. You had to time your presses to attack. Now you can just mash without care. It gave combat a flow.

I actually have not noticed any significant damage increases from elemental weaknesses so I have all but ignored them.

the logging guy is in love with the carpentry girl

I like delay combos on paper but Fantasy Life's execution of it wasn't great, made alternate combos feel much clunkier as compared to say Bayonetta's or DMC's implementation of a similar system. I liked how Mage could choose to channel specific elements and swap mid fight to exploit weaknesses though. Either way job strength doesn't seem too big of a deal in this one considering I've been playing mage the entire time and have yet to encounter anything even slightly difficult.

Here's 2 different ways you can do it. I don't understand how anyone has trouble with it

Ughhh Before doing this, I will be needing a second confirmation.

Do you have to sell something to get fan favorites to show?

Considering your take on this game's version I don't know how you stuck with Mage in the first game considering it is extremely weak for most of the playtime with horrible design decisions like it's basic attacks costing mana to boot.

Ginomorsia feels like a DLC tacked onto the base game. It's a whole continent of content that's so isolated and standalone from the main story. It gets very awkwardly inserted into the story to introduce it, but no one ever talks about it ever again. The backstory you find on it is entirely self-contained and has only provides context to the main story. The final reward for completing it is that it weakens the penultimate boss. All the changelings you find there also all come from the first game as fan service, something a DLC would do. But the thing that makes it most feel like DLC is how it fucks with the base progression. You can run into monsters and materials far before you're supposed to encounter them at far lower levels.

tl;dr: Ginormosia was meant to be DLC but was included into the base game

Autism alert. Anyone else like to change their character as the story progresses? Here's Heart

Heart.png - 914x1069, 869.88K

Too long, didn't read.

just right, did read

All the changelings you find there also all come from the first game as fan service, something a DLC would do.

Not necessarily the Star Ocean 2 remake had a new assist feature that had a bunch of characters from the previous games.

And this is her most recently. I just got to craft these new clothes and they didn't really fit her previous vibe, so I aged her up a bit

Heart2.png - 977x1287, 1.21M

Checked and based

I was fucking with you, every fruit tree i've cut down has come back with fruit

Barely at gold tier

I'm just taking it slow while keeping all my jobs ranked up.
Guess i should've just rushed the story

yeah, it's a bit weird how ginormosia is never required until the end of the story, and even then it's just to nerf the penultimate boss and give a tiny bit of details on the story.

Ginormorsia is for multiplayer. People trying to do it during the story or expecting some giant story payoff past the cutscenes are fools. It's meant for more interesting multiplayer content other than the infinity roguelike dungeons. I would argue the treasure groves are more what you're complaining about regarding materials/monsters since you always encounter random things in there.

a villain with no remorse

It was tacked on but it wasn't planned as DLC. They had Present and Past mostly completed and had to later rewrite the entire story and overhaul the game to get out of dev hell.

its not trouble, i just dont want to jerk my wrist around

Ginormosia is perfectly fine as single player. It's fun just exploring a big, unknown world.

Can you not request an NPC to fish out boss fish?

he moves his mouse with his wrists

I think it works for other gathering lives, so I don't see why it couldn't for fishing. Even if you can't tell them to solo with Y, if you start - they should join in.

The dungeon trees were meant for multiplayer and are much more built around it. That's something that feels the game was built around.
Everything about it has all the signs of being DLC. The past/present stuff was always part of the main game, but this continent wasn't.

I've had other people take on stuff like boss trees or boss plants or even boss ores, but for some reason, I'm not getting a prompt for this fish. I'm guessing fishing is more finicky.

Thank Christ for that. Will continue grinding. Maining Merc, grinding blacksmith and carpenter. With leopard mount who roars with the R button.

I'm disappointed that this game doesn't have the same charm as the first game. The characters were much more memorable before.

oh shit this nigga looks evil as hell he came to take Rem away

on a second thought it's probably a red herring

see he's not so bad after all, he vouches for Rem

nope, he's evil as advertised

expert in multiple jobs

haven't even progressed the story to get the painter

absolutely horrifying

It's closer to cut content or the developers' pet project tacked onto the main game than DLC classification. I agree that it's empty, too large, underdeveloped and disconnected from the rest of the game but it's kind of just arguing semantics.

It's significantly more grindy though. In multiplayer you share all drops, all area xp, even when you're nowhere near each other. It's a significantly better experience overall. To each their own though.

From some very casual testing it doesn't seem that high. I'm in an area with wind and water enemies and with a wind sword the wind ones take ~250 on a hit while the same attack does ~300 to the water ones. I don't know if wind enemies resist wind but if not it's a decent damage boost, but still not worth it over focusing on neutral damage type

wanted to level alchemy but my flasks suck and so do my buddies

life.jpg - 2560x1440, 704.17K

The backstory you find on it is entirely self-contained and has only provides context to the main story

It contains basically the entire story of the game aside from Rem, what do you even mean? The rest of the game is just removing obstacles to see Edward.

All the changelings you find there also all come from the first game as fan service, something a DLC would do.

That is not true at all. Snow, Cliff and Sylvia are all Shrine exclusives and all of them are originally from FLO.

But the thing that makes it most feel like DLC is how it fucks with the base progression. You can run into monsters and materials far before you're supposed to encounter them at far lower levels.

You can do this is the Past levels too.

catching up miner right now

feeling generous today, post a picture of your playtime on 3ds's Fantasy Life here with your steam profile. I'll gift 1 or 2 of you retard a copy of the game.

It's closer to cut content or the developers' pet project tacked onto the main game

If pic related is true, then it was a late addition to the game, which is why it's so out of place.

Snow, Cliff and Sylvia are all Shrine exclusives and all of them are originally from FLO.

They may have moved some characters into it, but all the original characters are exclusive to Ginormosia.

People back when Fantasy Life for 3DS came out used to post their codes to play with others. People also used to share their gamertags and psns for Dragon's Dogma pawns and to play Dark Souls together

After spending 8 hours getting the last 18 characters up to max affection I have unlocked the second set of books

im fighting the dark dragon right now, im barely doing any damage, itll just take me hours to kill it i think

one retard trying to gaslight people that Ginormosia somehow "feels" like a DLC

Is it schizo hours already?

People back when Fantasy Life for 3DS came out used to post their codes to play with others.

That's way goddamn different.

why does this game need kernel level anticheat? lmao

how else are you going to co-op together?

Yeah there was a significant change in design direction and late development additions, which were fully intended to be added to the game and not resold or added later as a free update. It is undercooked which is a shame, I'd prefer it if I actually had fun in Ginormosia without the multiplayer element as a bandaid.

he think he's a good guy

rookie mistake

I think I've heard something that you need to debuff a boss by doing some side quests. Maybe that's the case?
Or maybe you're just plain underleveled. The game kinda wants you to progress, grind and craft shit alongside progressing the story. But if you rush you likely to end somewhat underleveled. Although the game's not that hard, and you can clear content considerably earlier than the recommended level.

They may have moved some characters into it, but all the original characters are exclusive to Ginormosia.

No, they aren't. Olivia and Taylor are random drops, for example. You are just wrong. They simply rehauled the game after the initial version as they've clearly stated and that's why all areas of the game are so janky and disjointed.

I'm not forcing you to do it.

Maybe I shouldn't expect red herrings and plot twists from a children's game. (But ungodly amounts of grind is fine apparently)

You can do co-op by giving the room name or password, right? Regardless, I've only seen one guy give info for a room to do co-op in these threads. Nobody here seems to wanna do co-op stuff.

I just beat the main story after spending the past three days playing it from wake to sleep and I only just put together why Ginormosia felt "off"

relationship affinity goes up much quicker in grove dungeons than outside

the hearts go up so much faster in one 30 min dungeon run than 3+ hours doing anything outside

i'll be here for like ~30 minutes, so if i dont see anyone maybe ill try again another time

I'm guessing it scales with exp, and you don't get much exp from doing stuff lower level than you are, and the dungeons are all high level?

How do you get double XP or item drop rate on accessories? I've been remaking and it never shows up twice.

just raw RNG.

are there hidden shrines, or am i just fucking blind? i've been searching for the shrine in pettlewing woods and haven't found it despite these things literally fucking glowing.
also what's the point of having the shrine count show up as ? on the map if the towers just tell you how many there are when you talk to them?

You either keep doing it until it does or invest in upgrading Marco's shop to level 5 so you can get the Applique for it

Full of Mesugakis

is this the target audience?

It's because it's not 'outside', it's 'inside' a 'cave' (Lulab Forest style)

It's hidden in a dungeon in that region, it's the only special one like that. I got stumped for ages too until I gave up and stumbled on it.

are there hidden shrines, or am i just fucking blind?

Yes and yes

file.jpg - 2560x1440, 868.21K

Why does this game show so much feet?

There are some shrines tucked away inside the dungeons.

I'm thinking girl, because one more girl to look at, and probably cuter costumes but idk

Tomorrow's Memorial Day, not Labor Day.

facial expressions and customisation options makes it a very optimal choice

Labor Day was almost a month ago, retard.

Is there any reason to use normal chop on trees and ores? I feel like strong chop is all you need to drain the HP before finishing it with the charged chop so you can get excellent

i use regular chops to get the tree down to a sliver of health, then use my ultimate ability to guarantee an excellent since its based on overkill damage. works on mining too

I only use it at the end, to make sure the bar is low enough so a charged chop will give me an excellent

post mentions excellent

two readlets also mention excellent because they didnt actually read the post

bottom text

see see

I didn't do the math, but I believe by default (with no modifiers) all gathering "attacks" have the same SP efficiency. And the purpose of weaker attacks is just to let you lower the gathering node HP bar to let you get an Excellent gather, without you risking accidentally killing it with a stronger attack.

asks a question that he answers himself

Wow, anon, you are soooo smart... I wish I could be just like you!

boss nodes can't move their sweet spot if you're spamming lights.

shut up retard

Is there a map for the Strangelings that are just chilling on the floor at all?

I bet some autistic JP wiki has it already. Other than that - you can search past threads, because people were posting their finds. There might even be a google doc or something. Or check reddit, I guess.

what? they move the node after a set number of hits. If you only do chargeds they'll move it less times.

What? Do you mean the random drops?

I've burned my entire SP bar on lights and it only moves once I stop swinging.

where do I get smouldering claws?

Do you think they'll patch out the infinite money crafting methods like this?

NTA. Some strangelings are found in treasure chests that are just placed somewhere on the world map, not drops from mimics. And some aren't even in the chests, they're in their item form "in the open". Although the latter aren't exactly in the open, they're usually tied to some open world events or other notable locations.

pickaxes can roll both sweet spot % damage and specific type damage (fossils/metals/gems)

Fuck, this shit better not be multiplicative, or my autism is going to demand that I have three of every harvesting tool

one pickaxe with sweet spot and fossil damage

one with metal damage instead

one with gem damage instead

Has anyone tested this yet?

otis vet.png - 528x501, 292.53K

Yeah, it's all conditional. You can't even say charged heavies or specials are best for excellents because your current gathering stat might be good enough to always hit excellents with a charged light or normal heavy. It just changes on a node by node basis and the tools are all there for you to decide what to use yourself.

they can, and in fact since it's based on hit count they more much faster when you spam lights compared to spamming charges
I also didn't do the math but it feels like at base charge attacks are worse until you start getting some of the upgrades from the skill board. For fishing especially; the charge attack there feels like it takes more sp compared to mining and woodcutting's charges. Farming's is absolutely weaker damage wise but that minigame works completely differently so it's not really comparable.

I guess there's no easy way yet, but thanks for answering anyway.

Nah, apparently some Strangelings are just on the overworld of the map in the Ginormous/whatever it's called area.

Idk why he's a paladin in this game, he used a greatsword in the first game

thread'll probably 404 before I can post it but I'm recording a webm right now to prove it.

I think they just randomly spawn. I found one chilling in the middle of the tutorial mining cave when I went in to get mushrooms for the daily despite them not being there any of the previous times I went in.

Not exactly a wiki, but this interactive map shows you where you can find them. Just gotta turn off all the other markers and select only the strangelings. Click on one, and you'll see a screenshot of it, confirming if it's on the ground, or if it's some shrine/town quest bullshit.
game8.jp/fantasylife-i/687158

Btw, speaking of farming. It gets a fucking third X attack. What's it for? Just the finishing hit? Or does it have some other purpose?

read the tutorial
it enhances the effect of hitting the little arrow symbols during boss crops

Because he's the Sultan's Sword and Shield.

No, there's too many infinite money crafting methods and this one is just accessible as soon as you get the guild hall. They'd have to nerf everything to make it fair and nerfing one is pointless because you can just do the other one.

Yeah, I remember that part. I was talking about regular crops.

How long is the game? I haven't been able to play it non-stop since I have other things to do and games to play, so I only just made it to the Faraway Island.

Don't forget that all of your teammates have 3 unlockable alt palettes, each costing 5 fruit.

you have several more hours of content anon, don't worry

I only just made it to the Faraway Island

if you have done nothing regarding Ginormosia nor the sapling dungeons then you've just scratched the surface, barely.

is she just stuck up there with no stairs? kek

file.png - 1776x947, 2.73M

it did in fact move, but after 38! swings

I've definitely had it swap with less when I stopped swinging as well, so there's a soft and hard limit.

pretty sure charged attacks gets vastly superior once you get the cost reduction nodes

Does the +20% dosh skill apply to selling things?

Nommie's bed is my bed now.

different bonuses might be multiplicative

I'll worry about testing that shit later when I'm at endgame

They do but lights and heavies are still relevant if you're trying to bring a tree down to 5% health and a charged light means cutting it down without overkill.

Probably only matters to match specific boss type, if they have one. Like, is the Heart of Darkness a gem? But likely, doesn't really make much of a difference anyway.

Luckily, it's the only one like that. The other 19 are visible on the overworld.
