Act III of BG3 is so bad I never truly finished the game, even after playing it for over 100 hours. Me and my friends just kept redoing act 1 and 2 almost in a loop (cause we had multiple campaigns with multiple different people), and by the time we reached act 3, it was so bad we just didn't have the motivation to finish.

the timing is relatively tight. when in doubt, listen for audio cues when dodging, though they're not as reliable when parrying. if you're deaf then you're fucked

Listen to the sound cues, the animations are a bit off but the sound cues are the true trick. Parry is always far tighter than dodging, you can practice first dodging to get the muscle memory patterns down then when you can string perfect dodges together it's the same timing window as a parry so move on to parry.

Sekiro is more forgiving because failed parries turn into blocks and the recovery time is extremely short which leads to you being able to tap parry and land them accidentally at times.
The recovery on a missed parry here is like a full second so good luck.

Sekiro's parry is 200ms, E33 is 150ms for parry, 220ms for dodge. Sekiro is in fact much more lenient.

Clea is much, much easier than Simon. She's weak to void, can't do anything to counter shield stacking, only has a single phase, and only has a few moves to cycle through (none of which are particularly hard to parry).

Simon is one of the hardest bosses I've fought in an rpg (excepting OTK cheese). You have to be more precise with parries in this turn based fight than you do in any game that's actually centered around parrying as a main mechanic like Sekiro. Simon is honestly probably too hard because he eschews all of the strategy/turn based parts of the game by just saying "lol all of your shields and hp are gone, parry or die" every turn.

I could never manage to parry in souls games but I find it easy in this one.

The main issue with the minigame is just the the collision for the right bumper attack is fucking terrible. The same is true of just doing first strike attacks on enemies, the effect can visibly collide with the enemy's model and the battle just won't start. Having to do a timed minigame where the entire point is trying to hit stuff with that clunky and inaccurate bullshit is always going to be frustrating.

Then later, the game starts to fuck with you where an enemy will halfway swing (no audio cue) just so you blow your parry, THEN the audio cue happens for a rapid attack. Some fights feel like artificial difficulty until you memorize the feints.

Make a Japanese dub alongside Switch 2 release and there you have an additional million sales
