What is Capcom even working on at the moment?
Onimusha and Okami.
Capcom is working a bunch of big shit.
Akuma in Monster Hunter!
a monster hunter update literally came out today
why would they announce new games now? the doritospope bootleg E3 is next month
Re5 remake
No RE is because the schedule for the next four games got leaked and then two years later DC Douglas leaked their planned game for 2022/23 which got cancelled.
Not happening next.
what about the game with the space loli?
re9 news hit not long ago right? im happy because theyre making it third-person
DMC6 never ever
Never gonna happen.
These things take time, y'know. We literally had several years of RE back to back, 2make, 3make, Village and 4make. Monster Hunter Wilds is the current big thing and isn't going anywhere for a year or two. Street Fighter is about to finish its second character pass and we dunno what's in store past June, but we'll probably get info in the coming months. Plus there's Onimusha and Pragmata both in continued development.
mahvel 4
We literally had several years of RE back to back, 2make, 3make, Village and 4make.
Yeah that was the point retard. RE was supposed to transition into being an annual franchise per shareholder documents of the time, none of the games you mentioned actually take much dev time to make at all aside from Village.
The idea was
7 (2017)
REALLY BIG GAME, tries new development strategies, new resources are made in far greater supply, that kind of thing.
2018
Gap year due to this just starting.
RE:2 (2019)
Big game, uses a lot from the prior entry but not so much that it's overshadow.
RE:3 / Resistance (2020)
Two smaller titles packaged together to maintain brand awareness and strengthen brand synergy.
Village (2021)
REALLY BIG GAME similar to 7's own development.
Also, Re:verse was supposed to launch here, but the hack and covid likely caused severe delays.
(2022)
Likely was supposed to be Outrage / Revelations 3. Covid, followed by the 2020 hack, followed again by DC Douglas leaking a lot of materials caused this to be pushed back and likely cancelled. Resources leftover from it were in the next game-
RE:4 (2023)
A game in a similar vein to RE:2, using a lot of resources and techniques from the prior mainline entry.
As of now, RE not releasing in 2024 or 2025 is a result of the following
Covid restructuring still having lingering effects (2019-20)
The Capcom hack and leak (late 2020)
DC Douglas leaking Revelations 3 (2021)
This likely killed SEVERAL projects completely.
The next game we'll see will likely be a remake of RE1 or the proper RE9. Reasoning:
RE:1
It would incur brand revitalization after too many blank years for RE and would be a cheaper smaller project that wouldn't require as much effort as another mainline game, similar to RE:3.
RE9
It was already announced (essentially) last year so it wouldn't be surprising to see it release in 2026.
We'll find out in June or July in all likelihood.
Resident Evil 9 is next year. The director of RE7 is directing it.
IGN confirmed rumours that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil 0 remakes will follow. CV is being developed by the RE2R/RE4R team while RE0 Remake is the first RE project fully developed by M-Two studios since RE3 Remake. It is unclear which remake will come out first. Rumour was that RE0 is supposed to coincide with the next Hollywood RE movie which supposedly will have a story similar to RE0.
Honestly RE1 Remake Remake "makes sense", because right now RE3 Remake is kind of super awkward and orphaned in how it reworked Jill and other elements so much and just doesn't fall into line with the current first game's depiction. But I feel like it would be a waste at the same time unless they go back to the drawing board to actually do a very distinct depiction from the first remake, AND still capture the "choose your own adventure" elements of so many different encounters and variables the actual PS1 release had that were missing in said remake. But I know that'd be a fool's errand after 2R and 3R both abandoned all the extra content, zapping, proper 2nd scenario stuff and so forth altogether.
Dragon's Dogma 2 expansion dlc
DMCsisters... is it over for us?
Battle Network 7
you niggas aint tired of RE games?
That's like asking Monster Hunter or Mega Man fans to be tired of what they love playing.
literally in production right now
Elena patch is coming on the 5th I believe with other changes but it's still technically 4th quarter of the season so we probably won't hear S3 stuff until later. SGF is also the day after so maybe something else for Capcom until then?
are you tired of games that can be beaten in a weekend every two years
Not Pragmata I bet.
DD2's one year anniversary came and went
original game's anniversary came and went
zero news or announcements
it's crazy how Capcom seems dead set on making people hate them
Next Resident Evil is coming out March 22 2026.
30th anniversary of RE
Gives them enough time between now-next March to market the game
GTA VI coming out next May, no dev will want to launch anything from April-August 2026
SF6 is obviously lasting for a couple more years, how is that in the question?
Who the fuck is expecting a MH announcement this fucking year? Maybe Stories but that's a huge mabe.
tfw we get DmC2 instead
TRUST. THE. PLAN
Mega Man X9
HAHAHAHAHHAHA
Sure, and I bet you Dragon's Slopma 2's expansion is coming too. What did they change the name to this time? Is it still coming out Summer, or did it get delayed to next quarter?
God, I fucking hope not, at least not anytime soon. I would sooner see remakes of Code Veronica, a re-REmake of RE1, or hell, new Dino Crisis or RE Outbreak before we dive headfirst back into the “Westernized Action Slop” era of RE. 4 remake was riding that line close enough as is.
Biggest hack in gaming history.
RE games are
not very long
can be 100%'d in about 30 hours
The last one was released over two years ago, and the last one that wasn't a fucking remake was FOUR YEARS AGO.
I want a canon scenario where Chris, Jill, Rebecca, and Barry all escape, which we’ve never gotten, and if there’s two things the RE Engine does well, it’s creepy dark woods and leaky dark caves/mines, which RE1/REmake have in abundance. The image in my head of the bit in REmake where you’re locked in the mines being stalked by Lisa Trevor, but maybe expanded on, and lit only by a flashlight would be incredible.
VAs leaked it its happening retard
Was pretty obviously about the gachashit, which is the only DMC content you'll get the rest of the decade aside from the Jewflix series.
But enough about Hackzaki
Shitsuno cultists are STILL seething over Souls murdering DMCshit and Dragon's Smegma
DINO CRISIS
resident evil is the next announcement
How about something like this except not another fucking remake
They might be cooking a Mega Man game.
The only RE shit people buy is remakes.
As an addendum, using NUMBERS from the wayback machine, we can determine people care FAR MORE about the remakes.
Sales after two years on market:
Resident Evil 7
6.1 million units by 2019
Resident Evil 2 (2019)
7.8 million units by 2021
Resident Evil 3 (2020)
5.2 million units by 2022
Resident Evil 8
7.6 million units by 2023
Resident Evil 4 (2023)
9.9 million units by 2025
dead company
The director of RE7 is directing it.
So it'll be trash? That's unfortunate.
IGN confirmed rumours that Resident Evil CODE: Veronica and Resident Evil 0 remakes will follow.
They aren't happening.
IGN confirming shit means literally nothing because no rumour has ever been true and confirmed by IGN. It's just them cashing in on DuskGolem portraying himself as a reliable source (he has literally never accurately leaked an RE game despite having 25 years of history in the online fandom).
>no new monster hunter announcement
you fuckers JUST got a game
Filtered. RE7 is the truest sequel to the original RE1 out of all the games. It is also one of the most atmospheric games of all time.
