Which one do you prefer?

there's already enough games that do the same concept as GZ and even better

but nothing really comes close to TPP. No Ubishit game, nothing. Everything pales in comparison.

tps far cry

You have to be actual braindead if you think TPP is even on the same space as a ubisoft slop.

I wish they would have stuck with the level based structure rather than open world. GZ's map size was perfect for the espionage setting.

a ubisoft slop

good morning saar

I massively enjoyed the gameplay in both, FAR more than in the "real" Metal Gear games. Unfortunately both GZ and MGSV have the crippling problem of not being a real, complete game. Ground Zeroes is literally 35 minutes long on your first playthrough (no, side content does NOT count) and MGSV, while possessing the length of a normal game, is missing a fucking ending and is obviously and clearly released in an incomplete state following Kojima's firing. It's all setup, no payoff.

In an ideal timeline we would have gotten neither. Instead of an open world experiment, MGSV would have simply been a series of about 20 missions similar to GZ in size that use GZ's engine, with cutscenes in between, and that would be the perfect Metal Gear game.

I think the world map in MGSV was open like that to acommodate a multiplayer mode of some kind, like in GTAO.
But we've only got the base invading minigame.

For me it's MGSV with the map packed with enemies, helis patrolling the area, increased view distance, real armored columns and Camp Omega.

I got 200 hours out of TPP on 360 and pc. Now I still come back to it on deck with infinite heaven mod. Just pure fun. Only played gz a bit on release

I don’t see them as separate games. GZ is merely a demo/prologue of TPP

third person tactical stealth shooter

the open world is actually alive and full of content

possible 4 player coop

realistic bullet drop

no bullet sponge retardation

huge vehicle variety

huge weapon variety

huge customization variety

huge biome variety

it's like TPP but actually good

that ground's texture is actually abysmal.

They should've just made another GZ like end zone instead of having you literally replay missions over again for the second half of V. They were probably worried it was going to be "too short" but you're literally fucking replaying missions again like what were they thinking. Just end it at the metal gear fight, have an hour of cutscenes, then a GZ like epilogue area

Too bad the controls are pure garbage.

huge vehicle variety

huge weapon variety

huge customization variety

huge biome variety

These are all aesthetic though.

I tried to get into wildlands maybe 3 times because I love the map design but holy shit is this game the most boring open world slop in line with just about everything else ubisoft pumps out once a year. How do people enjoy this solo? Can you even remove your ai teammates from play? They just seen to spawn in enemy line of sight, not alert the enemy and break all immersion I has. I also tried breakpoint which was shit. Wildlands seems like it should be more fun. Are there any mods that make it fun? All enemies are the same, stealth is meaningless since you just 1shot everything anyway

This place has spent a decade repeating this and everytime you say it as if it was an innovative idea.

health regeneration. blind guards and literally no difficulty

MGSfags are the biggest casuals of all stealth players

I literally said if youcombine V with Wildlands you'd have a perfect game. It's amazing Ubisoft was capable of actual effort less than a decade ago. Then the sequel Breakpoint got them laughed off the internet with the NFTs and they've been in a spiral since

I thought they supposedly fixed breakpoint? I tried it and got turned off by the futuristic shit

I have a problem with TPP’s world building. How come you never see any mujaheedin, nor any afghans, in the missions in Afghanistan, only Soviet troops. How come you never see any niggers in the missions in Angola (save for the niglet kids), only mercenaries.

Hop off my dick I just recently played through it and it still mogs 90% of releases in the last decade

This. I wish it had more immersion. Maybe not ass creed style towns but just something. Civvie cars being stopped at checkpoints, anything

play TPP

come across those fodder guard posts with 4 guards surrounding that small camp

Really shows how worthless the open world meme is whenever I come across these.

It doesn't matter how good the controls are or how many tools you have, when the AI is dumb as bricks and there's no real challenge to anything. I've heard time and time again that "the gameplay is the best in the series" when in reality it's a pointless grind to upgrade your base for the online part of the game by spending real money. GZ was good because of how much content they had to pack in to justify it being a separate release, without that TPP does almost nothing well, since even the story was better told in the trailers.

If they did Ill legitimately check it out. Wildlands was low-key my jam

aesthetics are badass, read Kant

When you can't even say my name
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling numb?
Go on, call my name
I can't play this game, so I ask again
Will you say my name?
Has the memory gone? Are you feeling numb?
Or have I become invisible?

download infinite heaven

increase ai visibility

increase damage both ways significantly

add actual heavy vehicles patrols, convoys

add and then remove random skulls attacks in open world because they're shit

skip heli rides

instant research

Yup, gaming time

You don't even build your base in MGSV, Survive objectively has better base building and Survival mechanics.

People shit on survive, but if GZ, TPP and Survive were all combined it would be THE perfect game.

play mgs4

you sneak around two opposing forces shooting each other in the beginning of the game, even the initial trailers show Snake having difficulty hiding in the middle of a war

play mgs5, the game designed around warzones

nobody is fighting each other, just standing around patrolling

Even Bethesda games had conflict between npcs at this point.

What did you enjoy about it? I want to like it but I just don't find it fun

Hitman

Hitman-Chad.jpg - 2171x2159, 539.73K

You know what? You're right. I never thought about that when I played it, but civilians straight up don't exist in MGSV (not counting The Man Who Was Cucked To Death). Not seeing a single Afghan in Afghanistan IS weird.

It really, really needed NPC v NPC fighting. Maybe they could've had it in the second half of the game while you're replaying missions and then a turf war just suddenly breaks out.

based hitman bro

To think people want more Kojima open world slop than Hitman

True! How about a toast, it's to die for.

I lost all desire to play Hitman when I bought Hitman 1 and 2 bundle and like a week later IO gave both games for free to anyone who bought Hitman 3.

health regeneration. blind guards

Take off the sneaking suit and play during the day, retard.

Skulls were fun when they were mandatory stealth only zombie like creatures who'd maul your face off if spotted than the mandatory bullet sponge "mini bosses" or whatever like with the crash landing with the Injun. Good God that's probably the worst mission in the whole series and the skulls were a fumbled concept

There's no indicator for how effective camo is. Stealth in this game boils down to crouching and crawling.

the skulls were a fumbled concept

Especially the female skulls, who appear in literally one (1) (uno) mission and then never again.

Camo index still exists, it's just not presented to the player, you have to use best guess. It's not as complex as I'd like, however.

Stealth in this game boils down to crouching and crawling

That's literally every stealth game ever made, what the fuck are you trying to say?

ARRRRRGH DONT USE INTENDED GAME MECHANICS AND MAKE UP YOUR OWN ARBITUAR DIFFICULTY IN YOUR HEAD!!!

NOOOOO THE GAME IS AS EASY AS I WANT IT TO BE?!?! WHAT THE FUCK!

Mod the detection ranges I guess, doesn't change that your complaint is a self made problem.

And it's not even a mission you replay iirc which is bewildering, it was kino. Unlike that fucking crash landing.

You must not have played the game much if you don't know what it means. Crouching makes you hard to see, crawling makes you invisible.

Hitman WoA did everything I wanted to see in MGSV
Instead of doing fuckhuge barren open world maps, it went for multiple sandbox levels, which are still huge on their own
Which means more intricate level design, which means limitations, which means it makes you think harder about your course of action and approach to the level
MGSV is anti-stealth, most major outposts on the maps you can circle around and enter/exit from virtually any direction, there's no tension and consequences here whatsoever
And the outposts are really not that interesting to stealth around in after a while, there are barely any interiors, this game is like a 3rd person Far Cry game, the only thing it does great are its controls and gameplay feel

If you're using the correct camo or playing at night, yes. Try playing during the height of day, if that's not enough, don't use camo, and if THAT isn't enough, you can always mod the enemy detection ranges.

The actual problem isn't that the enemies are blind, it's that they're fucking deaf. Crawling makes you nearly impossible to hear because their hearing range is worse than their sight range.

If Phantom Pain was made up of a sequence of Ground Zeroes style levels, it would have been the greatest stealth game ever made.

The harder FOBs give you a taste of what could have been. We were robbed.

Pure kino

Glorified tourism simulator, completely sterilized atmosphere and tone. Fuck these games. Absolution is better than this shit.

They are blind AND stupid. If they think they see you from far away, they stop whatever they're doing to gawk at you like a chicken, giving you plenty of time to aim at them or simply walk away. The only way you're normally even spotted is if they see you sprinting.

Hey, is that a man crouching in a sandy plain?

The game has never been about camo, and even though visibility and weather are helpful it's never anything you should think about. The game is simply too easy. Who the fuck thinks, "Oh this mission is too easy already, I better wait until daytime?"

Someone who wants the game to be harder. Again, go mod the detection ranges if you want to be a masochist, or go play FOBs, those are actually difficult.

Based absolution enjoyer. I played it on a whim and enjoyed it (maybe because I got it for like $2) and only found out later the Internet has a massive hate boner for it which I never understood

not a real hitman game
cope seethe and dilate contrarian fucks

war without end

WAAAAAAAAH WHERE'S MY END?!?!?!!!

Holy filtered

a 15 min game vs. that same game but better and 200 hours long

This is proof to me that this board is retarded. Just a bunch of self-deluded contrarian faggots.

Base building

What base building? Are you talking about collecting solders til the next useless gun upgrade unlocks?

Survive is great

fences.webm - 869x504, 2.89M

Splinter cell chaos theory

infinite heaven

ramp up ai visibility, damage, patrols etc

every mission including open world mandatory subsistence

enable enemies drop weapons more frequently and increase variety of drops

d horse only

Time to game

that's not what people have the problem with
it's about detail, camp omega has much more interesting and intricate shit
although pretending that the average person will grind those special missions in camp omega is heavily disingenuous, most just do the story one, maybe try one or two and move on to tpp

Wildlands is v if you made it boring and uninspired. Also no shinkawa designs so it's automatically unplayable garbage.

More like absolute dogshit

I am pleased to see the people this game mindbroke 10 (ten) years later finally dying out and folks who agree MGSV is one of, if not THE, greatest game of all time finally becoming the vocal majority. Yes, we could have had more, but even as is, there is no denying it is a ludonarrative masterpiece.

Wildlands is the soulless ubislop version of the MGSV and it's still great.

for me it's the framerate
how does a game running locked at 60 feel better than most shooters at 120

No this board is just a retarded contrarian shithole. I think there is plenty of finer detail in MGSV's open world.

mgsv2.jpg - 1920x1080, 936.52K

honestly, imagine if all the missions of TPP had the same level of intensity GZ had. I honestly have no idea what the fuck was kojimbus thinking.

sorta, but you cannot really "pack it" with enemies, maybe just a few extra patrols here and there, unless there's another mod out there? (i just use HA).

i tried the ultimate phantom pain mod and it kinda sucked because disrupting the riot suit supplies entirely determined the difficulty
it was basically unplayable with them and really easy without them

doesn't change that your complaint is a self made problem.

No, the problem is natural. Your proposed solution is self-made.

The natural state is that you start with poor equipment, upgrading your equipment reduces the difficulty, and that makes it a self made problem.

He wanted you to listen to the story tapes he lazily pasted in

You're asking people to take extra steps to make the game enjoyable when it's an unfinished game that only detracts from the series and is better left ignored.

Good job ignoring it by screaming and kicking your feet in a thread about it on Anon Babble

My favorite thing about Hitman is how you can actually barge in with no equipment whatsoever, the game just lets you pick your loadout and unequip everything before launching a level
In MGSV you have to fucking mod in the ability to unequip weapons and such, it's fucking shameful

Stop projecting. Mods don't make the game fun.

Then don't use the mods, further don't use all the equipment that makes the game a cakewalk. You're like a screaming child complaining that the fucking stealth camo makes you literally invisible to enemies.
