I played Doom 2016 earlier, hadn't played it since it came out
back then I thought it was great, but I'm 3 hours in right now and it's boring and repetitive. enter room, kill enemies, explore, repeat

Have any of you actually played the game? The challenge is that there's like 10 of these guys shooting projectiles at you while another 5 demons are trying to bumrush your ass. There's also 50 canon fodder demons running around. Your heal pool is lower than Eternal to balance out the shield.

Eternal was better. I'd say Dark Ages is like a 6/10 at best.

Then Eternal upped it even more replacing the pistol with the shotgun as the starter weapon, and Dark Ages again with nail guns and Lovecraft monsters. If they're going to keep letting Quake leak in they might as well bite the bullet and merge the franchises.

The marauder was a fun enemy and becomes a regular part of the cast just like seeing a Baron of Hell or an Archvile in Doom II. Sure it spices things a bit but they start to appear in duos because they stopped being anything special on their own without severe buffs and arenas made for them. I liked them.
The blood makyrs and the cursed prowlers are bigger assholes but no one on Anon Babble actually plays games...

The problem with Dark Ages is that they ripping off Ultrakill but the game is too easy and this shit is just jarring to look at.
The UI is garbage, there is an obnoxious amount of visual indicators and ultimately it looks like noise and it is worse with RTX, I hope you like the color purple. It is just so gay.
The level designers, if you can call them that, are all amateurs.

It was fine. The story is stupid and was never meant to be expanded beyond Doom 2016, but here we are. The gameplay got progressively worse in each nuDoom, but it's fine. Not great, not terrible. Just fine.
