I'm sure their parent company just assumed their duties or put a few yes-men in place to handle things. That was pretty much why they all quit. The parent company took control over larger stake projects that they thought they were going to handle themselves. I think their egos inflated and they grossly overestimated their worth. It was a ~25 person unit that handed out someone else's money and offered devs minimal support.
