It seems like PotR has better overall classes and mods

WotR has high level fantasy but playing sorcerer still doesnt feel half as intricate and fun as in BG2. Idk whats wrong with that game maybe its because i played most of it in turn based mode but mage fencing in BG2 has completely different feeling to it.

Pathfinder 1ed is a side/upgrade from 3.5 D&D depending on who you ask, while BG2 is 2nd ed D&D with some homebrew iirc. So Pathfinder already has a couple more rounds of dumbing things down inherent to it, in order to make it more "accessible" for lesser autists. Although D&D wasn't yet at the "we want the wow audience" point.

PoE is utter trash and is way worse than every single game on that list, AND suffers from the exact same problem of owlcat games: completely boring encounters filled with trash, only they're worse because they don't even give you XP past a certain number of boring encounters.

the neverwinter expansions redeem both games. Their base campaigns are boring, true.
Also I feel like underrail edges out bg3 because bg3 is just too damn easy, and for the same reason, fallout 1 should really be down several notches.

too bad it's not really used for any interesting combat, it suffers from the same problem of a lot of badly designed RPGs where they don't even bother with encounter design.

I'm looking for a long rpg to play and DOS 1/2 are the only "recent" (post 2010) crpgs that I haven't completed. I tried the first game on release but got turned off by le quirky reddit humor and dropped it after a few hours. Is the second one better?

i solo'd the entire trilogy as a sorcerer with no issue at all because warriors and other mages didn't get in the way

Wrath of the Righteous is the best crpg I've played.
All the characters and fucking insane I love it.
