Where? I didn't feel like it was ever forced on me. I kind of agree with some of the other points you made, the game gives you the impression that you're playing a detective game and have to actually use deduction skills but right after the tutorial it turns out all the puzzles are just trial and error.
Also that part towards the end of the story where you just spend like a full hour running back and forth talking to NPCs behind closed doors made me wish I was playing something else.

Love the characters, music, setting and designs though. The game desperately needed more time in the oven.

Mostly Chea. Cecillia was an obvious lesbian bait (I've hanged around the social media related to the game and the discord so I saw how hard the devs were trying to hint at something there), but just bait. Peina is also very much another yuri character but she shows up so late that it makes no impact. Too bad my boy Lexua shows up so late because I actually like him a lot.

Another grievance I have with the game was The fact it was a town trapped in a bubble and that Orlando was responsible for the town's misery was very much obvious from the start. The identity of the masked villian was also easy to deduct given Paun's behaviour through the game.

The game sometimes feels like a cheap Layton copy, yes the game has charm, I like the setting, the characters etc. But Good GOD, there needs to be more game than what is out there.

And yes I agree - the trail and error puzzles were absolutely ass because there is no indication that a character moving here or there will trigger something. So basically either you have to be insanely lucky or do 3-4 attempts at the puzzle to figure out what does what and in what sequence.

I just think not many people knew about the game. Maybe they advertised it too early or something. I'm sure their publisher going under did not help.

Also, as obvious as the twist might have been I really enjoyed the writing, all the fun little references and details throughout the game. It was very charming and it made the whole experience feel like reading some old italian mickey mouse/donald duck comic which was really nostalgic.

But some other furfag games that is "no name" manage to get hundreds, if not thousands of furfag to play it via word of mouth and become trillionaires. How wasn't this a case for then Italian?

Like I've said - I did enjoy the setting, the side characters, the overall feel of the town. Felt like I'm back in Sapienza but instead of killing some rich fucker I got to actually go around the town and have fun. The marble game was insanely fun and so were the photography quests. Music was also good. I'm a 50/50 on designs. Some of them spot on, some of them suck (I hate the tiny feet on everyone).

I think the game needed a playtest and at least half a year more in the oven but given that Humble Games had a major walk out, I'm not surprised it was rushed out of the door.

Oh and that being said - I still liked it better than Mars Vice. Mars Vice has production value that is wasted on a generic setting without anything to it and a mystery that is basically "Cops are corrupt".

On Your Tail had game elements, Mars Vice is just a VN. Crown of Leaves and Foxtail is probably still the best out of furry games out there, but the latter has production troubles due to dev being Ukranian.

I feel like the charm of the game is understated, it really feels like a lot of love was poured into the game and the details show it. I feel like as long as a game is crafted with love then it's a good game.

The thing about games like Atlyss and Pseudoregalia is that people get into them because they want to fuck the characters, and as fuckable as some of the girls in this game are the devs never leaned into it other than retweeting that lewd fan art after the game released, yes, yes, I know and just advertised it as a "cozy game" and nothing more.

Yeah that game had ZERO media presence. The fact Atlyss was shilled here endlessly is funny given how much of a nothing-game that is.

But even cozy game without sex appeal and with of mouth like Amber Isle and Critter Cove manage to survive and thrive.

Amber Isle is for Recattear scalie audience and sure it's fun but I found it tiring. Critter Cove I love because it's underwater exploration + old Animal Crossing vibes. Robust character creation is also excellent and I can make a multidue of species as my own chars. Can't wait for the new island update.

huh, foxtail looked incredibly generic, the name doesn't help, so I'm surprised to hear it's apparently good, and crown of leaves looks kinda tumblresque, I don't know, I have a bit of an issue getting into games with certain artstyles, like, I keep hearing pipistrello is great but I just don't like the artstyle, so the idea of playing it for hours on end I find to be rather offputting

Foxtail looks and plays like Legend of Kyrandia 2. I know it's not a big selling point for you but it works well.
Crown of Leaves is made by a duo of insane Russian women. It might be looking Tumblresque but there's some crazy cosmology in it that is fun. Unfortunately most of the lorebooks for the settings are locked behind a Patreon. Haven't heard of Pipistrello until you've mentioned it.

pipistrello is getting rave reviews, but the fuckhuge sprites and zoomed in camera makes me think it'd look like shit on a big screen, seems made for deck, playstation portal and switch in portable mode, keep hearing they were going for a GBA look and feel which makes me wonder if it'll get a GBA port

That fair. Food is the biggest money maker for tourism, and getting flour and salt is annoying without finding it in the ocean. Gathering from your farm take quite awhile, too. I doubt they would add another personality since they still haven't finish the game yet, although I'm cannot wait to try out the Salon/create your own villager feature they might add soon.

Flour is probably the worst. You can only do it by framing Takotare, at the same time the underwater balloons when farmed provide steady salt intake. You just need to get a big farm going.

So far the best earners for me are: Fried chicken (surprise?), cheese sandwiches, popcorn, ice cream, soda (hate that one, you need to get so much metal for cans) and the 3-berry cocktail. That being said the 3-berry cocktail might be the best thing possible to get out of the Hot Tropics.

Worst things to cook are always wonky chow (the sauce spawns in underwater city and you only get like 4) and anything involving crab apples because fuck feeding those fuckers.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I also try to make a farm dedicated to mass producing the ultra roast, which was annoying. Yeah the sauce being timegated suck but holy hell, 2 sauce for the Ulitimate wonk is annoying, but the most rewarding if you want to break the +5k profit barrier. The new island looks like an amusement park, so I expect more sauce drop, hopefully. Cans are easy to work with thank to the slave bots. Crabs in general are fags, no matter how many you planted at your town.

Ultimate Wonk sells for a lot but I just can't be arsed to make it. And yeah now that my salvage bots are on two islands I'm swimming in metal.

I wish the crab shop had something of note but it's just incredibly basic bitch things other than of course crab apples.

And yeah one is amusement park shot, other looks like more living quarters falling into the ocean and one is mushroom land. I've also spotted a new NPC in one of the shots so maybe we'll get something good out of it.
