why are they still using so many sodium lights in 2027? aren't they supposed to be phased out because theyre bad for the environment? immersion broken

why is every dystopia more soulful than the real world

Because someone is actually in control of it

You know that you can make LEDs in any color?

everything has to be extra gay and lame.

You wouldn't consume the media if you were served an exact copy of the very mediocrity that is your life experience
You consume media to escape; and to escape you need an ideal presented to you in a unique way, it's simple really

gen alpha will never know the warm cozy feeling of left. i hate the future i hate the future i hate the future i hate the future

what (looks) better doesnt necessarily (feel) better. red-hued lights are far more pleasant to the central nervous system

orange light

SOUL

It makes me so unbelievably nostalgic.

go outside at night

look down the sidewalk

tree shadows literally have the low resolution pixelation of a videogame BUT IN REAL FUCKING LIFE

T-Thanks europe

Top one is barely even lit

they're cheap and extremely effective in terms of amount of light produced for the power required to run them
they also cause less light pollution than white lamps

Do you mod your games to have a screenwide yellow piss filter, too? Because that would be more cozy, right?

and yet you see more.

Oh god this game looks UGLY
Canadians really are shit at game & art design.

ps360 games are retro now

On the one hand I like that the new lights produce less light pollution (inb4 some reflex "hurrdurr reddit" posts), on the other hand I really don't understand why they have to be bright white. Probably because they're the cheapest? Good thing I don't have a window towards the street, because those lights would really annoy me, even with shutters and everything.

That's just the camera contrast

yeah deus ex hr is a dx9 game, half life 2 era tech basically. the dx11 mode is optional.

Then why do they always choose to install sterile blinding operating table lights as streetlights if it's optional?

1. short heda
2. culture of cheapest available options
3. they retarded

wrong. it's because the warm lights make some people fall asleep at night behind the wheel because it's too comforting and relaxing.

no need to mod, every tv and monitor has a blue light filter which does the same thing.

because the future is here it's just not very evenly distributed

it's so cozy. I wanted to say it's especially cozy in winter but every season feels just at good at night when the streets are illuminated with those kino lights

Ever since they installed these new streetlights in our street my gfs parakeet wont shut up at night because he can't tell if its night or day anymore. we had to double blanket his cage

I recently learned you can get them (again). Dunno what happened because I was looking for them for years when the one outside my house was starting to go. I wanna get one for indoors. Led is the worst "innocuous" and unassuming ever created by man. I hate them so much it's unreal. Temperature isn't the same as light quality. Leds look so horrible and make you look sick in the mirror.

Won't it get drown out by the (led) streetlights though?

Your eyes see better under high contrast situations at night. Yellow/ orange is about the best that it gets for that. And it also allows your eyes to adjust to the nighttime instead of being flash banged constantly by leds that feel less comfortable than looking straight into the sun. It's why anywhere that isn't directly lit up by a light under Led feels like you're starting into pitch black nothingness. They are significantly worse for actual night vision than hps.

I had so many kino moments just like that. I would stare at pic rel specifically for minutes. Pure sovl.

Yep, it's kino.

same

No, Trump won

Cyberpunk looks so fucking ugly man

exactly this, anon. it’s not just about brightness or color temp—it’s the way LEDs flatten everything, like you're living inside an overexposed jpeg. old sodium lights had texture, shadow depth, real spatial definition. with LEDs it’s like walking through sterile purgatory at 3AM, everything clinically visible but somehow less real. thinking about putting in a low wattage halogen for my desk lamp just to feel something again.

Streetlights of any color are never the problem, the problem is always motherfuckers driving the other way with their high beams on, fucking cunts
