I went back a few months ago after stopping during Legion. I'm having fun but I mostly just pvp. You can gear up really fast both in pvp and pve which is nice.
Idk how long I'll last until I drop it but for now I enjoy managing my warband of hot draebaes.

Caved today and played a bit on the Anniversary Classic server. Why is it that when playing Warmane my computer is quiet as a mouse, but when playing the same thing on a Blizzard server it's like a jet engine?

I've not played since the end of Legion/start of BFA. Before that, I played since vanilla. Every so often I wonder if its worth going back, but I wonder how much shit I missed and if it will be possible for me to basically go through the other expansions in order and get caught up on the story properly. However what's really annoying is the amount of FOMO shit they seem to have cut out of the game (or virtually so - like the brutasaur mount before they did the anniversary special huge $$$ pay item, was basically a gold-cap blackmarket AH item, stupidly).

I hear they've done some good things like brought back Mage Tower challenge appearances and other content like that, but not sure about others. Did they ever get around to bringing the Ahead of the Curve mounts to be low-percentage drops after that expansion? (ie during that expansion its a 100% clearing heroic/mythic, but afterward it goes to a rare raid drop?). They have done some other stuff like the Trader's Tender which seems to be decent from what I read, where you actually play the game and unlock shit - and if you miss it it comes around again (though I'm not sure about the anniversary T2 set stuff or not). I also saw the Pandaria special timewalking (?) event thing where you could create a new char and go through Pandaria, and unlock both new and old stuff on your retail char thanks to time dragon fuckery? Sadly that seems to have gone away, but I hope they'll bring it back or at least bring the rewards from the "bronze" stuff and other changes to drop in MoP normally on retail

Maybe I should go back, but it seems I've missed so fucking much and not sure what I make up/do or how much was cut away(aside from the Censorship Patch which I suppose they'll never revert), but if I could "catch up" without losing so much stuff I'd give it a shot.

I don't know what version Warmane uses (assuming its a private server) but its probably using the much older engine/textures/models/features compared to what I read about official clients updating to use, so they're more demanding? Still, even somewhat recent hardware I can imagine it shouldn't be that taxing. If you turn down graphics and other settings significantly or opt for the old models (if they still let you do that) and it may equalize out.
