What the actual FUCK is Kingdom Hearts?
What the actual FUCK is Kingdom Hearts?
a piece of slit
Salty milk and coins
Friendship and hope.
It's all the worlds.
After what was revealed in Dark Road?
It definitely isn't fucking light, thats for sure.
anon, he literally says it in the pic
he said it's not heavy, but not what it is
The collective heart of every living being in the universe or some shit.
Bonds friendship horrible heart stealing shadow monsters
It's the Collective Unconscious. Kingdom Hearts is part of Perfect Works, which is why Takahashi continues working with Nomura.
the holy grail
Pure unfiltered kino, the likes of which very few can handle.
Why does KH1 Sora mog the shit out of his older counterparts?
They took a shit ton of hearts and glued them together into a moon.
He has unlimited kid potential. By the later games he's already a teenager and gets nerfed somewhat because of DDD.
Because Nomura was chained and collared while KH1 was made. It's why it has the most charm and cohesive story in the series.
Nah KH2 is the most perfect of the bunch.
The realm where all hearts are born.
The first part of KH1 takes place inside of Kingdom Hearts (Although only witnessed by Sora's heart), and the person talking to you is actually king Mickey.
Also, has anyone else noticed this little detail? Pic related.
The first part of KH1 takes place inside of Kingdom Hearts
Holy shit how can you be so wrong
Solo's an entire pantheon of villains
little detail
Best speculation I can get after playing only the first two games admittedly. I just can't be bothered to dig into the other games' stories.
Anyway, you could argue the beginning of KH1 was the passage of Sora's heart from kingdom hearts into his own body, marking him the keyblade master. That seemed like the most logical explanation.
I have literally never seen anyone point it out before but I don't keep up with the fandom so that's on me I guess.
Why does Ansem sound at peace when he says "light" the second time before returning to anger and confusion with "but why?"
In final fantasy shadowbringers light is good but also bad. Too much of it first hits the user like a positive drug then it rebounds into the negative effects.
Thats cool. I like cookies sometimes but the sugar makes my head spin
Look forward to learning more in KHIV!!!
you will never play the kingdom hearts intro for the first time ever again
why live?
Am I the only one who just played Kingdom Hearts 1 and loved it and didn't touch the sequels, knowing it would get over complicated weird with more installments
Hey, hey, hey
Kingdom Hearts is fucking gay
a miserable little pile of secrets
I replayed the entire series (HD collection at least) and I have to admit, I'm still mad about KH3 even though its fun to play
voice acting is surprisingly stilted in this one, despite the actors all knowing their roles
Sora is cucked out of a happy ending because fuck you, everyone else is happy though
finale sequence is both underwhelming, awkwardly paced and dragged the fuck out
retcon Xehanort's motivations into being keeping balance which is horseshit
cut-scenes have characters being utterly useless to the point of it being jarring
most of the villains are just the ones from the previous games who don't do much
they fit in the entire Let It Go song????
such a strange game, I honestly think the story is surprisingly cohesive until DDD where it shits the bed and that shit permeates all over KH3
It's like the one piece, but it is also light and darkness
Dude everyone here who complains about Kingdom Hearts did the reverse of what you did. They actually gave the sequels a chance and now their nostalgia and happiness is ruined. You can't unsee what's been done. You can't forget all the shitty ideas like...
Clone character.
Time Travel.
Reviving dead characters making death pointless.
And the list goes on. Kingdom Hearts has become unforgivably awful. And I think Kingdom Hearts 4 has got to sell badly. Seriously the story cemented itself into being shit. And the worst part is we KNOW Kingdom Hearts 4 is not the ending either as it will end on a cliffhanger because this is the beginning of a new arc.
I don't mind long running stories if they're decent but if they're bad and get worse? Fuck it. By now I can't even stand the sight of Sora because he's become such an annoying idiot character.
It was a cool game where all the based Disney villains teamed up to destroy the universe but then it turned into gay Final Fantasy crap
Knowing Nomura, it’ll probably be retconned to be some collective unconscious shit that links everyone together. That or a demiurgic entity like Walt Disney or Nomura himself that is the ultimate god of the universe.
Roxas>Riku>KH2 Sora>KH1 Sora>Crap>Terra>Ventus>Aqua>KH3 Sora
Don't forget since Disney makes shitty movies from Tangled onward until Elio these new movies are shit and would make awful worlds. And I don't care if your excuse for liking Tangled is you are a loser waifu faggot. The movies we've seen from Disney for too long are shit. Zootopia is shit. Moana is shit. Encanto is shit. All of it is heinous shit.
I fucking hate these shitty movies. And its not "You got old!" Nah I still like good movies because they are good like Rango for example. I want good characters and good narratives so that when they are worlds in Kingdom Hearts I can enjoy them. And Disney has been failing at that for way too fucking long. No wonder Disney is making shitty sequels like Coco 2, Incredibles 3, Toy Story 5 and live action remake shit to make money. Soulless corporation of shit.
Fat Albert, youse an NH!
NH?
Yeah! No Heart!
Yeah, the Disney Tarzan movie is awesome, the use of CGI is both revolutionary and not ugly, which is crazy for a cartoon movie of the era, and the KH Tarzan world was fun.
But Disney lost the rights to Tarzan or whatever so the pretend that movie doesn't exist and it never came back in the game as far as I know.
There's 2 kinds of kingdom hearts, there's the heart of all worlds that naturally collects hearts and is a source of great power, and then there's the giant wish granting object revealed when clashing 13 darknesses and 7 lights.
Roxas is shit. He's a Gary Stu who inexplicably has two keyblades because for no reason at all he's supremely more powerful. It used to be that Roxas had Ven's heart sleeping within him but now that he doesn't have Ven's heart Roxas having two keyblades makes no sense but hey the writing is fucking awful Remember how Xemnas destroyed Axel's keyblade and he could still summon it again later? Then why did Riku and Mickey's broken keyblades need to be repaired by Yen Sid?
The writing is shit.
Glad I made the right call.
Ill pour one out for the homies who kept playing
The only time Disney Tarzan was used again was to celebrate the Disney Once Upon A Studio short. What a shame this was the final time we've seen quality hand drawn animation that was theatrical.
And the future of 2D animation is.......ugh its going to be ai.
And about Tarzan I always wanted Queen La as a boss fight.
come guardian
making a Disney game about traveling between the worlds of the different movies
can't make an Atlantis world because it was a flop and Disney won't let you even though it would've been sick as fuck and way cooler than the Little Mermaid
It's a door, no it's a moon, no it's a city. I don't fucking know and Nomura probably doesn't either.
Its not simply the story that got bad.
Its also the gameplay. Because Kingdom Hearts became a Handheld Series after Kingdom Hearts 2 the whole series gameplay suffered on handhelds. Handhels don't have the power of consoles so they can't replicate the same gameplay. As you can imagine the gameplay was crippled.
And it took until the DLC of Kingdom Hearts 3 on consoles for the gameplay to resemble how tight Kingdom Hearts 2's mechanics were. But remember that's the DLC. The regular main campaign of Kingdom Hearts 3 is shoddy and sloppy.
Geez that's why I count my blessings for gaming series like Devil May Cry for example every game of Devil May Cry is for consoles so the gameplay is never limited by weak hardware. And though there are slip ups, Devil May Cry 2, most of the series is mechanically sound. Kingdom Hearts? Only the first two games are solid and the rest of the series until the DLC of KH3 is disappointing.
I had a crush on KH2 Kairi
You forgot the DMC REBOOT.
I'm so grateful Kingdom Hearts came out when I was in 4th grade, old enough to play it competently and appreciate it but not too old where I was jaded and overexposed to media. The perfect amount just to really buy into and appreciate the magic of the game.
Roxas is shit.
Filtered by the Serendipitous Key.
youtube.com
this commercial is still so good
i think people that complain kingdom hearts is complicated are morons who just don't want to commit the time to playing any of the games
I like that short one for 2 more.
A game series that should have stopped at 2.
I'll come guardian inside Ansem if you know what I mean.
no, it's really just that it stopped being a disney thing and turned into final fantasy fanfic basically where sometimes there's disney characters
But don't be afraid
And don't forget
You hold the mightiest weapon of all
oh, right
this one

Surprised that other companies didn't try to do their own Kingdom Hearts knock offs. Especially Nintendo.
KH1 in general mogs the rest of the series except for gameplay. Sora and Riku at their peak, cool story if a bit vague, Disney villains at least pretending to be important and plotting together, the Keyblade being a unique entity before there's a million of them, how the Keyblade's ownership can be influenced by strength of heart, no stupid pointless retcons of why Sora and Riku can wield keyblades yet (FUCK BBS), fantastic atmosphere especially in certain sections of Traverse Town, 10/10 OST, etc. It's kinda a shame how KH2FM has far superior gameplay, because otherwise 2 is worse at everything else.
It's a beyond stale meme at this point. it's the easiest it's ever been to play the whole series. Imagine telling people a decade ago the whole series would be on PC now.
Nintendo had Smash bros for that.
KH3 sora still controls like total shit, and has basically no versatility or variety.
He still doesn't have unique air attacks or alternate combos/finishers and recycles his ground animations meaning 80% of the attack variety is gone.
His poorly made, unsatisfying attack animations and nonsensical effects are still garbage.
Only the boss design is solid. but bosses are not as fun and unique as KH2.
they're formulaic and repetitive and how fucking slow and floaty the game is is still very apparent in the Siax fight for example where Soras inability to get back down to the ground is such an obvious problem.
no stupid pointless retcons of why Sora and Riku can wield keyblades yet (FUCK BBS),
We already know why Sora can wield 1 from the KH Ultimania.
---Even though Riku was the rightful owner of the Keyblade, then why did Sora obtain the Keyblade in the beginning?
Nomura: Even though I would like to keep that obscure, there is a scene in Destiny islands where Riku is being swallowed by darkness, a light appears, and Sora first obtains the keyblade. With the setting I created, the darkness that surrounds them is Riku’s heart’s darkness. At that moment, Sora enters the darkness, and the light he sees inside is Riku’s heart’s light. Sora, who was squirming in the darkness to save Riku, touched the light and temporarily obtained the Keyblade from Riku.
---Does not the Keyblade itself choose its owner?
Nomura: The Keyblade reacts to the rightful owner’s heart and appears to them. Even though it was definitely Riku who called the Keyblade towards him, the reason why Sora was able to weild it was because he also had the right qualities too.
Eraqus is the commercial voice guy btw
bosses are not as fun and unique as KH2.
Data Xemnas KH3>Data Xemnas KH2. Let's not kid ourselves.
Sora and Riku at their peak,
Sora I agree but I feel Riku's arc through CoM and 2 is quite satisfying. THough I do love what a massive cunt he was in 1 for pretty much no good reason.

Truly the peak of writing from our god Nomura
Because of Keiko Nobumoto (RIP).
Supervised the script for KH1 but didn't come back for the sequels.
you know when the Japanese go on and on about friendship and honor
well Kingdom Hearts is where it all comes from
but the Japanese couldn't have gotten there without the white man, so Sora is a metaphor for the white saviour w/ blue eyes saving the Japanese from their disgusting Ukiyo-e art and instead adopting Disney
idk it's nomura slop
This is a white man
Sora is a nip
This but lacking irony.
Who the fuck said I was being ironic?
I'm evil (but not really) because... I was forced to kill the school shooter that killed all of my friends
He's not evil because he was fulfilling a timeloop with the least amount of casualties possible while upholding the existence of the world
For there to be Darkness, you need Light.
For there to be Light, you need Darkness.
not really he's a good example of how lacking in variety and boring the KH3 boss fights are.
just guard/dodge his attacks then mash attack and repeat.
-no running up a building to cut him down and dispell his curse spell
-no reversal to climb up his attacks and counter him.
-no segment where you fight off his clone to get to him and perform a reaction command finisher
-Final lazer barrage is a lame mess with sora stuck in a static guard pose because you don't have the reflect reaction command
-KH3 guard is so fucking shit they had to put manual scripting on it so his lazers wouldn't go through it and kill you.
yeah super smash bros. kinda fulfills any niche kingdom hearts could have, especially with subspace emissary
I asked my sister and she said it's the portal between the World of Light and the World of Darkness
the jonkler mister Hamilly himself?
Eraquis was too much of a pussy tu pull the trigger so I had to
I don't know who's more of a pussy Eraqus or the fucking Teracher that resigned because MUH FE FES
voice acting
That's the result of remote voice acting.

reminds me of DanganRonpa

so much that the final boss of V3 just chants it at you
DDD's story was a mistake and its set up made KH3 needlessly convoluted.
We didn't need seven lights and 13 darknesses, we just needed Sora and the gang vs the full and complete Xehanort, and then during the final boss Xehanort transforms into a big monster while Destati plays. It didn't need to be any more complicated than that.
aqua got norted
>voice acting is surprisingly stilted
he doesn't play with the superior voices from Glorious Nippon
Xehanort transforms into a big monster

It's the heart of all worlds.
Ask yourself what a "heart" is in Kingdom Hearts. It's basically the source of a person's power and how they connect with others. It's their "essence".
So you could say that Kingdom Hearts, being the heart of all worlds, is the source of all power in the universe and is also what connects everything together.
Someone who could seize Kingdom Hearts' power could control the universe and remake it as they see fit.
That was Xehanort's ultimate goal. He wanted to control Kingdom Hearts so he could remake the universe. He viewed reality as corrupted (by an endless war between light and darkness) and wanted to reset it back to a blank slate.
I grew up on the English voiceovers and I liked how we hear Haley Joel Osment literally grow up as Sora does
also Donald sounds even more incomprehensible in Japanese
English also got motherfucking Spock to play Xehanort but sadly he died before KH3
The friends we made along the way.
I liked the blend of action and RPG that the first one had compared to the cuh-ray-zee action of the later games
MX gets a GOAT voice actor
dies before KH3
KH3 voice actor is meh
also dies
re:MIND gets another GOAT voice actor (Christopher Lloyd) but he's only for re:MIND and now Xehanort is dead
I'm still Terra
What?
that's a lesbian
I didn't see a single SEA-SALT ICE CREAM in there
lady literally turning to dust right infront of him
WHO WILL I EAT ICE CREAM WITH?!
Play KH3
Nomura thread
Takahashi out of nowhere
Stellafag
She must not be forgotten
far superior gameplay
KH1 unironically had more challenging mob fights and better enemy design than 2 thanks in part due to the lack of Reaction Commands.
No
it's always been a moon which may or may not hold a kingdom/domain inside it, retard. The door acts as a safeguard, the X-Blade is the key. They are all fake or incomplete until 3, and even then, we never go inside, since Sora dives into Xehanort's heart, which leads the four of them to Xehanort's old home in the past.
It's light you fucking moron. Did you even play the game?
Nobody said having good intentions didn't make him evil; he wanted to play god just like Maleficent and ruined people's lives. How do you come away thinking he's treated as a good guy cause he wasn't murdered in cold blood?
The series ended here.
Anon, I don't know who Stellafag is.
Someone post the writeups I lost them
Heaven but alive via the power of the place where all hearts should probably go or something.
kingdom hearts
chain of memories
kingdom hearts 2
all that matters
The only people who think this didn't learn how to auto cancel attacks and abuse magic. Aside from the camera KH1 combat is fantastic.
I liked BBS' command board. I thought the other mini games were kind of shit and even on the PSP some elements of the gameplay were stiff, but it's genuinely fun. Maybe not fun enough to do every board with every character each time you do a playthrough, but enough fun for me to play through the boards as Aqua.
worth 100%ing?
I feel like they'd actually have a chance of being fun if I could play with other people who would actively try to fuck me over instead of braindead AI who never learned how to use cards (except fucking Tigger).
1, 2, and 3 are relatively simple to get all the achievements for, though Remind for 3 has its own that can be challenging. Re: CoM and BBS, don't fucking bother.
I only had the chance to do it once myself via the Mirage Arena on the PSP. Hell, Days Mission mode is also one I only ever got to play once with a friend. The fact you couldn't play with randoms for either really limited the enjoyment, especially back in high school when no one wants to admit to playing those games.
expect gameplay
Nah I prefer the combat, level design, exploration, and scenarios of 1 over those of its sequels (2's combat only gets better post game)
If Ansem SoD or Xemnas won in their respective games, Xehanort's plan for the clash between 7 lights and 13 darknesses would've failed.
why did Riku and Mickey's broken keyblades need to be repaired by Yen Sid?
They would've recovered on their own, but Riku wanted a keyblade to leave to Data Riku.
Now that the dust has settled CoM or Re:CoM?
I haven't wanted a game this badly since. I think the only other one was Halo 3
They quite literally could've kept on Billy Zane for all of them and it would've been kino
Quality has definitely dropped
youtu.be
Darkness, obviously.
are the fun though?
Can you break kingdom hearts tho?
Like, can someone just go up there and break that heart shaped moon into many tiny pieces?
No matter how you feel about his retcon motives, you have to admit the "very well done" was satisfying.
it’s gnostic christian Mandaeism. The real question is, if we assume the metaphysical axioms Kingdom Hearts adheres to as true, does that mean Sora et al are not merely fictional computer generated characters, but are, actually, Real ?
How do you permanently kill someone in the KH universe? Like their entire existence.
They should really rename the series, since kingdom hearts stops being really relevant past 2, it's just a side note at this point
BILLY MOTHER FUCK'N ZANE
Frankly I cope by just pretending only KH1/2 exist. Nomura fucking bottled the series, I never fucking liked what BBS involved in the series, then we waste some workable worlds with the shit that was DDS in addition to the garbage plot. Then we end 3 with a gay cliffhanger with backloaded plot (to be honest this isn't exclusive to 3).
I thought it was going to be some amazing adventure where all the protags would be doing their own things among different worlds but instead we get this shit. MoM shilling and ripping off some shit Nier did to shill for the people who played that garbage mobile game.
I'm glad his new mobile game got canned, put the fucking plot in the game.
It should've ended at 3 and 3 should've been good. Nobody has the energy to follow this shit for the next 15 years when there's no substance and will be no real resolution
The most trustworthy way? All I can think of is turning them into data and literally deleting them.
A game for the Playstation 2
For me it's beating Vanitas as Ventus in BBS. Vanitas is such a smug shithead but when you beat him for that last time as he can say is
...wow
the heart of all worlds
The closer you get to light

KH4
Replaced the villain from KH1-3 with comic relief Marvel quipping mobile gacha character who appeared in 2 cutscenes in the actual games for 6 minutes and 36 seconds
Organization XIII is replaced with mobile gacha characters who have cardboard one dimensional personalities and appeared in 1 cutscene for 2 minutes and 55 seconds in the actual games
In order to understand backstory you need to play mobile gacha (WHICH IS OFFLINE NOW)
Another mobile gacha that was supposed to contain crucial backstory got cancelled

Nomura is retiring and giving away the franchise to literally who
IT'S OVER
Big problem that Nomura created in regards to the characters and story is that he bloated the cast. Now we got too many playable characters and the entitled fandom wants each of these characters to be important because each character is someone's favorite.
And frankly not every character is great. If you don't like a certain character you'd not going to be interested in stories centered on them. And when you remember that the whole story is connected and continuous this really weighs the series down.
To summarize Nomura failed to make all the characters interesting while making each subplot important. Now they waste time and budget to make games centered on characters not everyone will like. I rejected Melody of Memory because I don't like Kairi as a character. Never cared for Days because never liked Roxas. And I don't look forward to the inevitable Saix game because he is investigating the mystery of Subject X. What a bloated cast of a huge mess. And then you have other complications like how stupid Sora has become despite being the main lead. The charm some characters had is gone as well.
didn't you read the image you posted? it's obviously light, retard
No it wasn't because Sora preached about accepting destiny to Xehanort no matter what. And yet Sora cheated destiny who dictated that Sora is meant to die along with his friends. Sora rewrote reality to cheat destiny making him a hypocrite.
And Sora is so stupid he can't realize his own actions. Sora is shielded from real consequences with bad writing.
