His kit doesn't really make any sense feels like he was designed by people that don't know what they are doing.
Why does a tank have a chip damage aoe attack?
Why does a tank have a team revive when in reality he should be the one on the team technically dying first?
His skill should have been something that gave him health/stamina regen.
His ultimate should have been something like a massive taunt/team buff/self rez etc etc.

His shield advance is kinda worthless and not as impactful as it is in monster hunter
His basic ability seems worthless on anything other than basic enemies
And his ult is guided and not as free as it should be.
He really should have inherently just reduced guard damage, like and great shield on him should be like using the finger plat great shield.

This isn't a mmo, he's not a tank in that sense, he's just very survivable.
That survivability makes his ultimate perfectly suited for him because he's very likely to be last man standing, NOT the one dying first, and the ult is a team rez. I agree his other ability is a bit lackluster though.
Tier lists are retarded, and for a beginner he's actually high tier. He has the best defensive stats in the game so you can make a lot more mistakes with him than you can with anyone else. If you never get hit then yeah he's relatively weak, but if you're that good you'll win with anyone so it doesn't really matter.

Of course, but that's not the point I'm making. The value of a character depends on context. The bird will appear low on tier lists because his value is in survivability and not DPS. He effectively has more value the more mistakes you make because he makes every mistake less punishing.
Highly skilled/experienced players don't makes as many mistakes and thus don't need that, and even tier lists made by less skilled players tend to assume ideal conditions (which usually just ends up as a DPS ranking).

Matchmaking in this game sucks in general. Not having any crossplay in this game, when there's no voice chat or anything of that sorts anyway, is plain retarded but they didn't stop there and had to add even more layers of bullshit to it with that whole remembrance quest thing. If you have one active, you simply can not matchmake with anyone else who also has one active. The only workaround is to get invited by someone and even then only the lobby host has an active quest, while the other players get theirs put on hold.
