Just replayed the demo again. My initial feelings were really mixed, both performance wise and mostly about the combat being sluggish. But doing it again with some tweaker specs and actually knowing what I'm supposed to do, the game is finally starting to click with me. Most of my issues really were not knowing you can simply run around while being locked to an enemy. I thought you were forced to walk around.

With the nier dlc can I wear the outfits right away or are they locked behind gay side quests?

Repulse. You can unlock it later. You basically block the multi hit attack then you kick them away from you. It's kinda like parrying but instead of parrying every hit, here you just hold your sword up blocking the incoming blows.

It's probably roughly 60 hours to see everything in the game (except the endings), but that's assuming you're an average player and don't take your time or go through the boss challenges much.

In this case, the game is a mostly linear action game is using UE4. By all accounts, this is game from the mid 2010s tech wise and you can see it everywhere in the details. This is why I laugh when people say this is a AAA game. It's barely AA, on the level of DmC Devil May Cry. Frankly, the game should have been priced to reflect that, at 40 dollars but I guess Sony is being Sony and they really need to recoup those Concord and soon Marathon losses.
