How can Bethesda make Fallout more interesting?

Bring back mesmertron, it's my fetish.

make official femboy and dickgirl presets

There's nothing interesting about Fallout anymore. Every game retcons everything in the previous release.

Stop trying to make it a diet survival game with some RPG stuff superficially slapped onto it.

They can't. Sell the IP to someone still capable of making great RPGs.

Play as somebody that didn't make it into a vault on October whatever, 2077. No ghoulification shit, just straight up survival. Character creation and the specific traits you pick determines where in the map you actually start the game. Bring back the tag traits and let that give you a boost with whatever factions you come across, kind of like a class system but you're not really locked down.

Make Child Impregnation part of the base game

This. It's 2024 and the dickgirl/trap mods for bethesda games are still either mid or just don't exist.

Make a game where you never leave the vault. All of the drama happens therein.

Lots of degen ideas ITT. Seek mental help, losers.

Fuck you, cars are cool.

More BoS, more energy weapons, more nuka cola, more facist enemies

Bethesda needs to take creative risks again. Since Fallout 3 Bethesda has made games for the broadest audience possible, and they've avoided doing anything that could possibly alienate any players, even if it means their games make less narrative sense, and become samey and repetitive.
While they have made some decent and fun games while doing that, like with Fallout 4 and Skyrim, they've also made huge bombs like Starfield because of this.

Fallout 3 has defenders because its world is something which greatly appeals to some by not being something everyone loves. The map's locations are far apart, you can go minutes wandering the open world without a combat encounter. The tone for the wasteland is dark and dire, and the DC area conveys a sense of scale by being made of gated areas and connecting tunnels.
Those risks alienate some players, but create a more artistic and unique experience.

Fallout New Vegas does this too, it is a game which has areas of its map which are completely safe, it has very few real dungeons and combat is less important generally speaking.
But because of that, the game's world is far more narratively sound and distinct, and it has a huge fanbase because of that.

Bethesda needs to take risks and do something which won't appeal to everyone.
That way, even if some don't like it or even hate it, there will be some who genuinely love it.

Have someone outside bethesda handle the writing, quest design, and character progression. They can still design the world though, they're good at that.

I am glad photoshop exists to let us fix mistakes on images

liscence out the IP and engine to CRPG devs in between big releases
make Emil stick solely to game design instead of writing
and take notes from starfield's colony ship quest, sometimes players just wanna kill a guy

Perfect.

Scrap any semblance of a main quest line and make everything radiant fetch quests provided by traders and shopkeepers. The only "story" you get is from randos you meet out on the road, and they're all potentially recruitable.

The concept of "protected" NPCs in these games always seemed kind of dumb. Just do a thing like in Morrowind, where it tells you "you fucked up, that guy was important to the salvation of the realm, load your last save if you want an ending to the main quest". It seems especially baffling in a game where you're traveling to different timelines, but you can't permanently kill certain characters in it.

I kind of understand why. If you're just traveling, the physics bug out, and the quest NPC dies because they spawned 1000 miles in the sky, that'd be fucking bullshit.

Or design quests with alternative steps in case the player kills an npc, including letting quests fail.

protected and essential are different tags
protected npcs are fine since if one gets randomly attacked by vampires they won't die horribly while still preserving the player's ability to kill them
it's essential npcs that are the issue since that tag should be reserved for cutscenes and the like where an npc death is a softlock

Is that modded Fallout 4?

There is no point in playing a choice based game if your choice does not matter.

no it's Fallout 76

Move away from the Brotherhood, Enclave, and Supermutants.
Maybe write for villains with an actual motivation and goal.
We have to kill Emil first though

Fallout Tactics game where you're running a tribe on the Mexican border.

they can't. bethesda has been making games for tasteless 7 year olds since oblivion. the only way fallout can become "interesting" is if literally any other studio takes over

i don't understand people wanting cars in open world games. you'd reach the end of the map starting from the other end of the map in like 5 minutes lol
the only reason fallout 2 had a car was because they had to up the ante after fallout 1 and at that time open world trotting games wasn't a thing they foresaw. doesn't help that fallout 1 and 2 is all about travelling all over the west coast or cali

By not being bethesda. Fallout ended at fallout 2.

as opposed to using fast travel all the time?

the point i was making was that open world maps are actually small in the grand scheme of things. it's just that they're so fucking filled to the brim with shit to find that people get sidetracked every 30 seconds

Fallout Girl rape simulator

Vehicular combat

Chases / races

Stunts and jumps

Having a mobile loot stash / companion taxi

use low tier tools

deliver better and longer content than other people using 'better' tools

how does he do it bros?

that's not gonna happen in any game outside of games with a focus on vehicles
also fallout was never about vehicular combat
nor stuns or jumps
companions have filled the spot of mobile loot stash since fo2

you'd reach the end of the map starting from the other end of the map in like 5 minutes

Then just make it something you don't get until the end of the game. If it was in NV, you'd get it in Nellis Air Base.
Fact of the matter is America needs cars to properly feel like America. We have almost as many cars as we do people. If all cars broke down in the wasteland, we'd figure out how to get them working again. People in the world of fallout have maintained Power Armor, vertibirds, and Liberty Primes. Cars would've been higher on the list.

How can Bethesda make Fallout more interesting?

Well... actually MAKING Fallout games again would probably be a good start. FO4 is a decade old at this point and they have done nothing with the series since then aside from constantly trying to engooden 76. FO5 hasn't even been announced and is nowhere on the horizon. It's hard to make the series interesting when they aren't even really making it anymore

that'd require an astronomically sized open world map that'd make it unfeasible to travel on foot. which is what fallout always has been about. apart from that, it'd also require the devs to fill out the whole fucking map with shit worth exploring and picking up and shit like that. don't forget having to be able to enter EVERY single building

If all cars broke down in the wasteland, we'd figure out how to get them working again

hell, in fallout 2, it's implied that there is some form of car industry or some shit. after you get the highwayman. if you go to new reno and park it or some shit. it gets stolen and put in a chop shop. which implies there's an existing industry about that shit lol
just like how you can become a pornstar, which means there are enough people with working televisions and media players that actively buys porn from the studio

Let the guys who worked on Wasteland 3 work on a Fallout Tactics spin off but have have the writing be supervised by Obsidian

Has a love of the game. The game of straight shota specifically.

I will now play Fallout 76.

They can't, it's Bethesda.
If you want interesting, give it to a dev that's actually good.

emoji cowboy.gif - 400x400, 1.99M

By giving the series to any other RPG developer and letting them use the engine other than the creation engine.

Never played the Wasteland games. Would you recommend them?

player prostitution

Yes, they(Wasteland 2 and 3) take some of the ideas of Fallout 3 and 4 but properly develops them so that they're not retarded and bundles it with tactics gameplay thats a mix between Fallout 2 and X-COM. Only downside is that the companions, especially in 2, are weaker writing wise.

I also genuinely adore WL3's soundtrack
youtube.com/watch?v=BQDlOvm6hNs

Wasteland 1 has more in common with Dragon Quest but is a genuinely good experience despite being relatively old.

Because Mad Max and the car wouldn’t be given immediately, it would be a thing that you would be able to get around mid game and you would have to put in legwork to get it.

I mean it would be interesting to see what Brian and InXile could come up with.

don't be mean to the poor refugees bigot

thanks i'll skip these

But anon, siding with the refugees actually dooms you to the bad end, since they have no useful skills and are a massive resource drain, leading Colorado Springs to collapse, causing the trade deal Arizona needed to survive to fall through.

Get bad rep with refugees

"Why don't refugees like me?!"

Not what happens since you can determine the reason why the Refugees are outsed from their homes in the first place and determine how you want to deal with the issue towards the ending of the game.

Wish there was a skyrim 2 with the scale of mount and blade

someone said radshouts as a shitpost back when fo4 was announced and i’ve been wanting them ever since

Frame Todd and Emil for money laundering or murder or something and have them sent to federal prison so they can never touch Fallout again, then sell the IP to someone who actually wants to make a good RPG, preferably a studio that's willing to go isometric again.

the next Fallout game should feature warcrimes on Canadians

shitthesda's reddit take on magic and the occult in their fallout games (le heckin' Cthulhu cults in a cave!!!1 WOAAAHA THE RADS I AM LE TOTALLY GOIGN INSNANEEEE) is the second most groan-inducing aspect of their fallouts. The first is of course the sarcastic dialog options in 4.

Personally I would almost completely remove energy weapons, and turn them into extremely rare artifacts with limited ammo, that straight up blow holes through anything, power armor even.

Energy weapons as they are now are to common, People wouldn't be smart enough to maintain them properly after the war. Making them less common means you can make them insanely powerful, like iron man lasers slicing through robots like butter.

Cars obviously. Fallout could benefit from wasteland chases with makeshift vehicles falling apart and blowing up.
The caravan chases from rage 2 come to mind.

More sexuality?
Unironically, a handful of sex jokes here and there doesn't really cut it. Sex is the fundamental part of existence for literally all life ever. The wasteland should be more titilating, brothels, rape, etc.
New Vegas did a good job with this.

Maybe expand on settlement building, with destructible walls and stuff. wood walls breaking apart when his with gunfire.

kumagawa2.jpg - 210x240, 10.41K

Built in high quality breast physics and sliders

fallout 2 had the same type of shit but its an old sacred cow

Make her fart

Get rid of the sticks and stones setting already, its been 200 fucking years civilization would've moved on by then. Why does Bethsuda keep making the world look like as if it just got nuked yesterday?

Maybe expand on settlement building, with destructible walls and stuff. wood walls breaking apart when his with gunfire.

one of the only things 76 did well was revamping the settlement system into being a portable personal base you can set up anywhere with lots of options for resource extraction, rather than it just being a useless hobo babysitting simulator like 4. Enemies frequently raid your base and can destroy every single part of it if you let them.
Simply backporting this feature into 4 and removing the original settlement system would be such a huge improvement over vanilla.

Personally I would almost completely remove energy weapons, and turn them into extremely rare artifacts with limited ammo, that straight up blow holes through anything, power armor even.

So, just make energy weapons more like the Alien Pistol from FO1?

energy weapons are like guns, once it's invented the theory behind it is just kind of there and people are building barely functional ones using smoke detectors and coffee pots

I get that the theme of fallout is that mankind will be engaged in endless, brutal warfare forever with itself until humanity goes extinct, but it is weird that all of the bethesda fallouts constantly see us fighting to improve and rebuild part of the world only for it to never seem to go anywhere.
We fight in 3 to bring clean water to the capital wasteland and to build up their infrastructure and whatnot, and in 4, several years after 3, BoS paladins are saying that the capital wasteland is still a total shithole, even worse than the commonwealth.

BoS paladins are saying that the capital wasteland is still a total shithole, even worse than the commonwealth.

wait they do? where?

Rape as a gameplay mechanic

But Broken Steel shows you are actively improving the wasteland. Hell after completing the main quest in 4 your side starts to deploy in force creating a safer wasteland. The issue we run into is there not being any direct sequels to see if the players actions changed the world at all.

The issue we run into is there not being any direct sequels to see if the players actions changed the world at all.

and there never will be since there's no point in creating a sequel that explores what the previous games did. at best you'd get like notes/terminal entries/some npc who knows something because he's been there/is from there dropping some comments

Fuckable big-tiddy deathclaws.
Dickgirl Deathclaws as well.

Sex with hot vault dwellers. Also: actually giving a shit about the setting and letting civilisation develop a bit. The East Coast is a fucking joke compared to the West Coast.

117851590_p0.png - 669x869, 41.34K

Start focusing so fucking much on the vault gimmick

haha this vault was another le crazy experiment xDDDD

it's just an ambient comment they make, it goes something like

you think the commonwealth is bad? You should see the capital wasteland!

I know, that's my point. We spend each game building up an area, but all we hear in subsequent games is that that very same area that we spent a whole game devoted to building up and protecting is still a complete dump, or hasn't made any progress at all. It feels like bethesda keeps considering setting up their own version of NCR but then getting cold feet when they move on to the next game, because Fallout to them is just shooting super mutants in a bombed-out city.

A slight detour to a previous region would be fine as a way to show it.
Let's say FO5 is set in or around Raleigh, you could have the protagonist have a mission where he goes up to DC to secure a clean water trade deal or something. show Rivet City has expanded out to now include the citadel and project purity within. Basically just make it an area with high tier shops that sells rad free foods, repurposed enclave armors and energy weapons.

stop doing the homogenization, and simplification of the series. Fallout 3 was not a well written game by any means, but between the overworld being fun to explore, enough quests to entertain, and the perks/skills system allowing players to create their own character over time, the game was fun. Bethesdas main issue nowadays is they keep removing all the rpg aspects out of their games, when the rpg aspects are part of what made it fun. Though considering how they're talking about the next elder scrolls, I don't think they're going to stop.

i don't think that's a very smart idea considering the level of HACKS bethesda are. like, they make 1 game once every 10 years. there's no fucking way longtime fans would be happy with what bethesda would show after such a long time or some shit. you'd just see endless posts about people talking about how they wiated 20 years to see progress but they were left sorely disappointed. then there'd be the goyslop consumers who just spams "I KNOW WHAT THAT IS, AND I CLAPPED!"

desu probably not wrong. DC spent like 20 years being the epicenter of a war between super mutants and a BoS chapter, had no real exports, and was prayed on constantly from shitholes like The Pitt looking for easy slave labor. It's going to take a lot to un-fuck. By comparison Boston was a mostly functional region on the cusp of forming a regional government before the Institute decided to flip the table. The difference between nonstop, mo holds barred urban warfare and a deliberate sabotage and managed decline.

Irrelevant. I agree with the other guy earlier in thread, Bethesda does its best work when not worrying about mass appeal.
Something as simple as a safe and clean area would be a huge leap up from the state we last saw the capitol.

>More sexuality?

Not going to happen, Bethesda have taken a borderline puritanical approach to sex in their games ever since Skyrim. Can't have little Timmy knowing what a prostitute is, but he can gib people to 50s music about nukes.

Bethesda does its best work when not worrying about mass appeal.

tell me, when was the last time bethesda made a game NOT aimed at mass appeal?

Something as simple as a safe and clean area would be a huge leap up from the state we last saw the capitol.

bruh, all of DC is one pile of rubble. no one's gonna clean that shit up. rivet city can't expand since the whole point is that everyone lives inside the ship ONLY

The difference between nonstop, mo holds barred urban warfare and a deliberate sabotage and managed decline.

downtown boston appears to have also been engaged in perpetual warfare. There aren't really any signs there of non-raider or supermutant habitation besides diamond city, which is a heavily-guarded fortress, and goodneighbor, a tiny, inferior little enclave that is perpetually under attack.
The CPG was likely constrained to the more suburban areas, many of which, like I think lynn woods, regularly get decimated by packs of roaming deathclaws.

why are girls like this

file.png - 233x475, 126.84K

Like this

freeside.jpg - 2560x1440, 2.01M

Boston is a mutie war zone because the Institute turned them all loose there, but all those mutants used to be locals so they're pulling double duty on the depopulation metrics. Without the Institute repopulating them, they're going to dwindle out eventually, and it also means an abrupt cut in the further decline of the normie Commonwealth population because the Institute will be black bagging way fewer people.

Everyone knows Bethesda has no intention of making anything better, this is a hypothetical for a reason

fallout 2 had the same type of shit

In non-canon special encounters most people didn't see.

oh wait

bruh, all of DC is one pile of rubble. no one's gonna clean that shit up.

Which is why a clean area of DC would be such a show of improvement.

rivet city can't expand since the whole point is that everyone lives inside the ship ONLY

Because the outside is dangerous, showing that people can live outside of fortified settlements would show that lone wanderer had helped the capitol advance.

If you die you lose everything, make it more of a survival game

and what non existent work force is supposed to clean up ALL THE RUBBLE ACROSS ALL OF DC? lul. there really aren't many places where people can live in peace in the capitol wasteland. which in turn makes me think there in general aren't many people living there at all
also remind me in general, what's the reason for the super mutants to be in DC? is there a lore reason or some shit like that that explains it? because i think they'd still be around making it hell for normal people in the DC area

desu you would see people picking up rubble just because that shit is free real estate for good building material. Enterprising homesteaders are going to cart off whatever good bricks and such they're able to haul out now that the city isn't ripping itself apart with gunfire and explosions. It would be a very gradual process but there would be portions of DC where most of the rubble gets picked up or the mostly intact buildings become inhabited.

Just copy TES. Bethesda has shit writing, they can't make a game as interesting as F1,F2, or NV. But they make great Worlds and side quests and are good at making them immerssive when the Main Story isn't the main focus. Just lean into that

What does TES do that Bethesda Fallout doesn't

Have a better more varied world. There are 0 guilds in F3, and the factions in 4 are not guilds, they're main questline branches. There is only 1 or 2 major city in every Bethesda Fallout. Compared to TES which has 6+ each game.

The main story is also way to much in your face and personal in F3 and 4. Atleast in Oblivion and Skyrim you can easily come up with a decent RP for why your character would ignore the MQ. You really can't in F3/4, an alternate start mod becomes a requirement.

Also, Bethesda has got to ditch the trash collection sim they have going on with F4 and Starfield. This shit better not make it into TES6.

bruh i don't think the very vast majortiy of the rubble in DC is of any use to anyone whatsoever lol. wasn't DC mega hit by nukes?

For one
Microsoft should license out the IP to a studio to make another classic rpg.
it would cost considerably less money to develop, run on most hardware and probably sell well since baldurs gate 3 was hugely successful, even more so than Starfield.

4c5rkck8urz21.jpg - 1192x670, 359.69K

you can sell the babies you pump out or raise and harvest them for organs or raise the mutated spawn to tank enemies for you
you can also unlock lactation and sell the milk you produce, you meet people who want to purchase it and will sell you items and weapons that can't be obtained in any other way

You can shape larger sections of stone into more regular shapes with effort (substantially less effort than building industry to make new ones). Bricks can be scavenged. Sheet material can be used for roofing and such. The Barbarian tribes did this after Rome fell; they just used the old structures as quarries.

And yeah DC got fucked up but there's obviously valuable material there. You think GNR runs out of a shack?

I don't remember if it's ever mentioned, but with liberty prime and all the tech at adams afb, I'm sure the BoS could've nuked vault 87 out of existence as early as the broken steel dlc, fixing the population of super mutants in DC just the same as it's somewhat fixed in 4.

i can tell from this post alone you are a retarded ideas guy who cant comprehend how videogames actually function

Set the game somewhere else besides usa.
Also how hard is it to make animations with using kks with no experience? Would it take years of practice before making something decent?

The Brotherhood remnant after Maxson stole the hardliners, rivet city itself, and the outlying population that would gravitate to the source of pure water and relative safety of the citadel. Not to mention the population boom that would happen following the end of resource scarcity and the creation of agriculture now that the water isn't literal poison.

They absolutely could and probably have. I'm just saying that DC was already a shithole that was then subjected to total war for twenty years while Boston was almost functional before getting fucked by the Institute and Gunners over the course of about a generation.

I'm not saying Boston isn't fucked, it is, but DC started as a meatgrinder and then got worse and stayed worse for a long time while Boston ostensibly still has a struggling farm economy and decent soil to be utilized once someone gets the muties and raiders to go to hell. Boston just started way higher and did not get quite as fucked up.

put big tits, violence and racism in the games and less stupid bullshit like building settlements

That's fair.
Actually playing the games, they both feel equally as awful as each other; never-ending war inside the city, roaming packs of radscorpions, deathclaws, and evil robots patrolling the countryside, etc.
But ultimately that's probably just for gameplay purposes, and we can't necessarily impute that to the intended scale of each game.

Commonwealth is just in a better state even if you factor those in. Abernathy and places like that have small families living outside the protection of a settlement long enough to have adult children. You can legitimately survive out in the commonwealth. The best you have in the Capitol for a pioneer as it were, is like the Republic of Dave.

They cant. Bethesda's creative process is garbage.
The Institute was Bethesda's first attempt at making an original major faction in the Fallout series and it was spectacularly bad and very disappointing especially coming from New Vegas, hell even the shitty Enclave in Fallout 3. They've been coasting on old Fallout ideas for over a decade now like supermutants, ghouls, deathclaws, generic raiders, a post nuclear world that hasn't changed in hundreds of years, crappy cities.

Elder Scrolls and Fallout have stagnated, there's no progression or sense of change from game to game. Everything feels the same, and it doesn't help that they keep doing autistically shit time-skips presumably because its easier for them since they dont have to detail every event which they probably cant do anymore since their lore "masters" are talentless hacks.

put building of ethno-settlements filled with violent men and big-titted women

In a perfect world we would've gotten a sequel to New Vegas showing how House or the Courier with the help of Big MT has turned the Mojave into the safest and most civilized haven in the world.

False, those retards need to be put down.

Vault Dweller

Tribal

Unknown(emerges from a chemical tank in an underground facility, but is completely human appearance wise)

Wastelander(skips every intro segment, free to self customize)

Which background would you pick?

aren't the tunnelers, the cloud, the ghost people, and the hexagonal pylons all slowly on their way to destroy new vegas?

desu, new vegas is like top 2 of my most fav games of all time. but don't put much stock into the lores of the DLC's. their whole point is to up the ante and raise the stakes in general to make it worthwhile to play through them. but the implications they bring to the table is shit i really can't take seriously lol

they make thematic sense in the fallout universe, it's just that the theme of fallout is utterly miserable, so fans actively don't want the dlcs to comport with the themes.
The stories all center around "letting go," which is basically the tagline of dead money. I believe they explain in one of the intro or outro videos for OWB that the phrase "old world blues," refers to when people get so caught up in the past that they can't see the present. It's basically directly talking to Mr. House and his obsession with vegas.

yeah but. tunnelers invading the mojave? and they're super duper uber deadly and can rape anything? replicators from dead money? completely busted tech and shit like that. they kinda break the lore and shit imo

Fallout Soviet Union

Fallout China

Fallout Europe

Fucking Pick One
Retro 50s Americana is overused at this point.

BoS because I'm a fanboy. At least for the first playthrough.

Unknown sounds interesting though. I assume it'd have some kind of background mechanic to mix things up, kinda like the Dark Urge in BG3 (although probably less bombastic)

fallout new vegas was such a good game because it understood that lore and worldbuilding are just tools for storytelling. The writers could use or manipulate it at their leisure in the process of creating a great story.
It doesn't matter that the tunnelers and the hexagonal pylons "conflict with the lore and worldbuilding," they serve the thematic purpose of telling the player not to obsess over the past but to live in the present.

By getting as far away from the current timeline as possible.

You've got a 200 year span of untouched America where literally anything could happen.
But of course that would require creative thinking, which I do not think Bethesda has any longer.

Give IP to someone else.

Tribal.

download.jpg - 960x720, 108.03K

i wasn't saying that the shit the DLC's introduce "conflicts with the lore and worldbuilding". just that they up the ante so fucking hard i can't take them seriously for the franchises canon
if a new fallout game was made and it was set on the west coast, are we going to be fighting tunnelers everywhere? is the local BoS chapters using replicators? etc. probably not

Retro 50s Americana is overused at this point.

We visited a handful of states in the US and have like 40 left with atleast 10 that are still interessting, not to mention all of annexed Canada and Mexico.

Retro 50s Americana is overused at this point.

DON'T make it retro Americana. Do it post apoc with retro Americana artifacts here and there, like it was in the original games. Also, it's more '60s before hippies Americana, not '50s.

it's not that it conflicts with the worldbuilding

it's just that it seems implausible in the context of the fallout universe's worldbuilding

canon doesn't really matter if you can tell a compelling story, which NV did.

canon doesn't really matter if you can tell a compelling story, which NV did.

yeah fair point

Give the IP to any other studio.

We just need a new Fallout game away form Bethesda laziness and mediocrity.

Fallout Europe

the hexagonal pylons

the what now?

bring back psyker shit like the master and the little kid from new vegas and let you blow up retards with your mind and mind control retards or something. they need to focus on better combat and story and less on gay base building bullshit but still refine it if they're gonna keep it in. either way they will just make it gay and insert more browns and trannies.

I played this old janky postapoc MMO called Fallen Earth. It had gigantic maps with little to nothing happening between cities, but it also had cars and bikes and even horses and shit and it was peak comfy at least for me to hit the road and watch the sights go by as I shitpost in Global or listen to some music.

we need more slavery and mass murder. bring fallout back to its roots. war is inevitable.

Stop being involved in Fallout and let the people doing the TV series take over the IP.

Did you even play Fallout 4? Its the worst retcon and destruction of fallout lore ever. There is no chance 5 respects the setting they made.

sorry, I think they're actually called "Hexcrete" pylons.
I haven't replayed OWB in almost a decade, but I remember one of the ending slides mentioned that these pylons kept replicating and building on each other. One of the cut endings for NV apparently had hexcrete pylons show up and demolish goodsprings.
I think it's supposed to be like BLAME! where you have an impossible superstructure that keeps building on itself and destroying the natural world in the process.

i looked it up and i recognize the poster for it

We need a Fallout based in Ching Chong China to represent #StopAsianHate.

bruh alright, another rising the stakes gimmick from the dlc's that i can't take seriously lmao

OP tries to make a stealthy Koikatsu/AnnaAnon thread

keeps pushing it when he sees nobody is biting

anons don't give a fuck and actually discuss the games

I came here to laugh at you.
But also bless everyone ITT.

Ghost People aren't a self-sustaining thing. Even if they can 'make' more the suits aren't being produced anymore. The Cloud also isn't a world ending threat unless you let Elijah get at it. Otherwise it's a very contained and local problem.

The Tunnelers may just be Ulysses being a retard like he normally is. They're definitely played up the hardest but they're absolutely not the most dangerous thing even in their own DLC.

Ghost People aren't a self-sustaining thing. Even if they can 'make' more the suits aren't being produced anymore.

i think you're thinking too logically about the settings logistics and shit. no video game survives that kind of scrutiny. might as well ask where the legion gets thousand upon thousands of football gear to use as their standard issue uniform and shit lol

The Tunnelers may just be Ulysses being a retard like he normally is

there's no reason to think he doesn't know what he's talking about. he's not a courier equally as badass as the MC for no reason

I would be happy to chalk the tunnelers up to Ulysses being overdramatic, but the fact that all of the dlcs present some kind of potential existential threat to new vegas (maybe not so much honest hearts, unless you consider violent tribesmen pledging loyalty to the legion as an existential threat, which it kinda is) lead me to believe that the writers had a specific plan to destroy new vegas some time after the events of the game.

I started talking about Bethesda for real while fully acknowledging this.
Better luck next time OP kek.

lead me to believe that the writers had a specific plan to destroy new vegas some time after the events of the game.

hasn't it been the case of like every major RPG game since oblivion to raise the stakes fucking big time in their expansions/dlc's compared to what's going on in the base game?

Would make sense as Sawyer even stated that he doesn't want to see the Wasteland advance. He wanted it to remain in a perpetual state of chaos

anna anon is kino and underrated

Stop reusing old factions.

Don't nuke progress in the name of having setting.

why do body mod makers never fix awful gamebryo faces?

This. I actually really enjoyed seeing post-wasteland factions form. I mean it has been 200 years, it's silly to have everyone living in tin sheds while scavenging for prewar food.

i think you're thinking too logically about the settings logistics and shit.

The ghost people are never depicted as an existential threat to the Mojave, they're explicitly a relic of the fucked up circumstances around the creation of the Sierra Madre and don't exist elsewhere.

They die to guns like everything else, they're uncoordinated, and they're slow. They're just also out to get anyone who wanders into the Madre and they lay traps fucking everywhere so they're an existential threat to the idiots and daredevils that wander in. But even then the biggest threat to looters in the Madre is usually each other as they inevitably betray one another to get the treasure. That's like the whole theme of the DLC.

Doesn't Sierra Madre explode after the vault is opened or is just that basement? It's been over a decade since I played NV

So Fallout 2?

not sure how that's relevant to my post desu

They die to guns like everything else

didn't you have to dismember their corpses because otherwise they get resurrected?

It's just the bunker. The grounds and the Cloud remain in place. In the good ending for Christine she stays behind to act as a warden for the place.

your collar is triggered to explode, not the vault

Post-war is played out, the next fallout needs to be pre-war

Yeah, but you can do that by blowing a bigass hole in their mask/helmet. It's just more efficient to do it with a knife instead of wasting ammo.

You destabilize the suit, they die. Icepicking them with 9mm won't cut it but the big players have access to bigger toys than that, and the ghost people are still finite and confined to a very small geographic area. They're just not a grand threat.

fair fair. desu fnv and fo3 are piss easy games in general. i can't imagine it taking a lot to kill those enemies overall. like even if you play a ranged build and play that dlc early, i can imagine you could just wail on them with whatever melee weapon you can get your hands on and you'll be fine

Anon Babble

can someone explain to me what this term means? i've seen it for months but i have no idea how to interpret it

Heh.

straight shota, literally fantasies of little dudes getting "roughed" by (usually) older girls and women. with or without consent, doesn't really matter

OP made one of the classic blunders and made a thread with a more interesting OP than pic. I can jack off on my time, to discuss loretism I need an audience.

so it was that simple. thanks

Imagine a female anthro dogmeat wearing a vaultsuit haha that would be hilarious

the fact that bethesda decided not only to keep this shitass meme "faction" alive, but to expand on them and devote an entire dlc to them where they get played mostly straight is some of the most cringe shit imaginable.

love me some far harbor
I don't know why it took them several DLCs to realize the potential the entire synth thing had that was completely squandered in the base game

Well look at it from Starfield's perspective: You have over a thousand different planets to fuck around in and you could just take 10-20 minutes of your time to just traverse on foot in a straight line just to get to the invisible wall. But lets say you actually wanted to stop being retarded for a bit and actually bother to find some places generated around the map that you actually wanted to explore, that would maybe take you a few hours at best to run around and see everything there is to see within that particular biome. Now consider how long it would take you to run your ass around each planet's biomes to find something new to explore or new to do, and you'll realize that just maybe, you'd want to get this shit done faster. So you use your brand spanking new Rev-8 to make the process far less tedious.

Now lets use a far smaller scale example like Skyrim or Fallout 4. Naturally you're going to constantly be traveling back and forth around their maps just to find some new shit or take care of whatever quest it is you were assigned to do, but it turns that you're one of those faggots that likes to brag about being some old hardcore rpg player that used to walk 15 miles in the snow to get to your next objective and you hate the idea of fast traveling. At some point however, you're probably going to want to get to some places a bit faster, but instead of using the fast travel system, you use a horse in Skyrim to do just that, while you'd have to find some armor pieces that increases movement speed in Fallout 4.

With all that being said, you've probably now come to realize that some people actually want a faster means of getting from point A to point B. You may not like the idea of that, but some people do. And there's always the possibility that Bethesda would plan to make future Fallout game maps large enough to actually give you a reason to use vehicles to reduce the tedium of traveling around them.

i never understood why people love this dlc so much and considers it one of the best dlcs ever made for fallout and all that jazz. i was literally not impressed nor interested in a single thing in that dlc and i explored literally every single nook and cranny there was
not just that, one of the cults main enforcer is a former enclave soldier that only reveals that and a itty bitty tiny backstory of his time with the enclave is if you succeed a speech check. i remember thinking "bruh, they're putting enclave on such a pedestal that they put enclave trivia behind a dlc" lol

I hope this nigga gets shot

i never understood why people love this dlc so much and considers it one of the best dlcs ever made for fallout and all that jazz.

It's easily the best fallout 4 dlc (which isn't saying anything because fo4 has some absolutely abysmal dlc), and I'd argue that it's also on par with if not better than Skyrim's dlc, and because most bethesda fans are really just skyrim and fo4 fans, that's their entire frame of reference.
The worst NV dlc makes FH look like a joke, but the average bethesda fan has no played any NV dlc.

but weren't those "thousand different planets" procedurally generated garbage with literally nothing in them nor any life on them? with the exact same small outposts and buildings on every single one of them
i mean sure if they were actually handcrafted and developed, combined with the fact that starfield is a space age nasapunk rpg, i would also expect there to be a vehicle helping you travel

you're probably going to want to get to some places a bit faster, but instead of using the fast travel system, you use a horse in Skyrim to do just that

never liked the horses in TES. they're slow as shit and i have too much ingrained stress built into me to be able to handle mounting and dismounting every 20 seconds

you've probably now come to realize that some people actually want a faster means of getting from point A to point B. You may not like the idea of that, but some people do.

i totally get that

And there's always the possibility that Bethesda would plan to make future Fallout game maps large enough to actually give you a reason to use vehicles to reduce the tedium of traveling around them.

Nah Honest Hearts sucks way worse than Far Harbor. Walk into two caves and fight in one battle, the end. Can't believe I spent money on it.

lmfao fair assesment

Personally I just liked the synth stuff enough that I came from the Commonwealth as a hardline "fuck synths, fuck muties, fuck niggers" BoS fanatic that was just waiting for an opportunity to turn on and kill the Railroad and Institute and I left Far Harbor as a very confused man who was no longer even sure if they were real or not.

the moral implications of your decisions in HH and how they tie in with the narrative of NV and the fallout series is vastly more interesting than total recall but with a black woman.

and I left Far Harbor as a very confused man who was no longer even sure if they were real or not.

why? remind me what was told in the dlc

The only actually good New Vegas DLC is Dead Money. Everything else is dogshit on par with Nuka-World or worse.

I'm kneeling so fucking hard, based Bethesda posters.

Genocide bad.

By the way do you want to commit genocide or not?

WOW SO MORALLY PROFOUND

What moral choice? You shoot sits-to-pee or whatever his fucking name is and leave that shitty little canyon. Way worse than fighting giant prawns in the fog.

remind me what was told in the dlc

the player might be a synth, because synths can have fake memories implanted, and there's no way to check if one is truly a synth until after they die.
and here it comes

OWB is actually bad because reddit!

Write a story that isn't "chosen one looking for family member", include theming and satire and have something to say. Ditch the strange and ill-fitting dudebro frat humor they throw in their games.

the player might be a synth, because synths can have fake memories implanted, and there's no way to check if one is truly a synth until after they die.

ah right, that piece of shit piece of lore that made the playerbase cream theri pants. i desu just scoffed at it and decided it was hack writing. synths and synth tech wasn't even a thing pre war

how can people be so clueless as to fallout's theme when the theme is literally the tagline of the franchise

war never changes

the dilemma of HH is whether you succumb to the cycle of violence or persist in pacifism in the face of overwhelming brutality. It's no wonder that the dlc invokes christianity so much.

The first time I played through Dead Money I had a bunch of lethality mods on that made the ghost people lethal as shit due to me not having any armor. It also made the nights in the Madre way darker so sometimes all you could see were their eyes floating in the dark.

Fucking 10/10 dlc that way. Except that one courtyard where I kept getting murked because my build couldn't sneak for shit.

How can people be so clueless that they think Honest Hearts is somehow profound? Did they miss Sunday School or some shit?

nuh-uh!

extremely high quality post

destroy far harbor

send Kasumi home

destroy Acadia with institute/BoS

island is now a mostly empty irradiated holy ground dedicated solely to Atom and his creations/worshippers

The ideal ending to Far Harbor prove me wrong

The story of Randall Clark, mainly.

It was a good game. It's a shame what happened to it.

why do you say that? what happened to it?

More sex, drugs, horror and murder. The old ones feel so genuine but lack the modern day tech. It's simple really - make a game where you feel small and insignificant to the abuse and horrors of post-nuke America.

I left Far Harbor as a very confused man who was no longer even sure if they were real or not.

How? DIMA is clearly a manipulative and unstable murderer. His actions in Far Harbor legitimize almost every hardliner stance the BoS have in 4.

Outsource development of an isometric classic Fallout style spin off to some talented studio

so wasteland games?

based, I've been saying this so please attribute me when you post my idea

Like the other guy said, it's relative to the rest of their output. Compare Fallout 3, which is also generally considered to have "good" DLC: one actually decent new worldspace, two linear campaigns at opposite ends of the zaniness spectrum, a moral choice bolted onto a collectathon, and the game's actual fucking ending given a price tag.

Compare Fallout 3, which is also generally considered to have "good" DLC

no it fucking doesn't. point lookout sure. but operation anchorage and mothership zeta are very much hated by a lot of people

a moral choice bolted onto a collectathon

explain

I’d love to see Larian do it

Ah yes, that FAAAH HABA hospitality

ywnbaw

He means The Pitt. If you're a completionist you'll spend a fair bit of time scouring the scrap yard for iron ingots. Personally I enjoyed it but I also thought AA was fine and got filtered by the unblockable damage primitives you would one-shot you with a double barrel. Zeta absolutely was horrible though.

point lookout doesn't really have any interesting quests to note but the worldspace is alright. Pitt is the exact opposite. Tiny, cramped, boring worldspace but decent writing. Broken Steel (aka BS) isn't great, but it gives 3 an actual ending. Anchorage and zeta lick my nuts, but they bribe you with some cool toys to play with as a reward for playing the godawful dlc, which softens people's perceptions of them somewhat.
Compare this to 4

a bunch of settlement shit x2

a bunch of settlement shit but in a vault

capeshit with robots

didney worl with raiders

total recall mixed with blade runner starring a black woman (this is considered the best one btw)

samefag, you are just mad no one fell for the bait, you thought posting tranny anon porn would create a porn thread instead people remained on topic, seethe desu

Unironically nearly open world maps like 76 and vehicles and weapon durability
Anon Babble cannot change my mind

The next fallout game should take place in the vault with only one male (you) and women and be developed in collaboration with illusion (rip)

Larian's brand of writing would probably be more at home in a Fallout game than their own setting desu. Their zaniness would be right at home if they could manage to engrain enough grit at the same time.

Why not just go back on the FORM?
Like actually not making you into a super human for once

they have weapon durability already...

why are vault dwellers such whores?

I think it's mostly agreed that 76's map is pretty good. It's all the other crap that drags it down.

yeah same. considering how whimsy larians writing are, i don't see them doing disservice to fallout desu

when they go to wasteland is like small town wamen go to college and be whores

They'd fill it with hamhanded progressive messaging.

ah right. i thought the pitt was absolute ass and nonsensical
yeah i mostly agree

what is even larian working on?

kill yourselves faggots

Not in Fallout 4
Fallout 5 better have it just so that you can’t cheese the game with one weapon the entire playthrough.

all the other crap that drags it down?

Such as?
I think 76 is a good game outside of the dogshit Atomic Shop and microtransaction season slop

do their games have that since DOS1?

you're asking for too much. fallout since 3 are piss easy by design since they're mass appeal games fundamentally

Supposedly, their next project is a sci-fi game of some sort. No details as of yet, though.

They already made fallout 5, they removed so many features it was mistaken for a tv show.

You get some instances, like the refugee subplot in Baldur's Gate 3. However, Larian respects player agency enough that you can engage with, avoid, or violently reject that sort of thing as you wish, without meaningfully impeding your ability to progress.

Well first it got bought out by Gamersfirst, who tried to make it into WoW. Made the tutorial lame and gay, made skills lame and gay, factions lame and gay, and also actual quests lame and gay. Then they ran it into the ground and put it on life support. After that Gamersfirst went under and the IP was bought by a new company called Little Orbit. They are trying to make a remake in Unity. The remake, among other things, will feature better optimization and modernized dialog that will censor all the no-no's from the existing text in the game, like for example the mentions of the horrific ableist slur "Retard", which is featured within ingame NPC dialog on several occasions and is also a word that you are not allowed to say in chat if you don't want to get banned.
For now they made a temporary server running the current version so the veterans have something to do. They also "hired" (0$/h) several volunteer moderators from the playerbase to watch the chats for them. One such moderator confessed to me that he does it solely to feel powerful over the little guy and also confessed to me that he doesn't know anywhere near as much about the game as I do, thus being a less helpful individual than me.

man where have i heard of that before. that's like the fate of 99% of all mmo's that came out "soon" after wow lol. i have no idea how much money they could possibly be making from a niche mmo like that. like how can there always be endless amount of companies willing to buy shit like that to keep them running?

what, like a whole new game? why? MMO's are like the most expensive genre to make and we're not in the MMO age anymore lol

man, who could've seen that coming lmao

I haven't played it in a hot minute but following 76 by dipping into rural american folklore, cults, ect are unironically the way to go in my opinion. They can just make another ruined city or some shit but honestly who cares? How many times can you do "uhhh le atompunk FUTURE CITY is actually LE BAD because of CORPORATE AMERICA AND GOBERMENT" before the message gets repetitive? 97% of the United States is rural and you have hundreds of years more of history to pull from for inspiration.

Fuck are you on about, anon? Everyone took Gifted back in the day.

what, like a whole new game? why? MMO's are like the most expensive genre to make and we're not in the MMO age anymore lol

Maybe out of some bizarre desire to help a gem in the rough shine once more. Maybe they just think that buying dead games and refurbishing them like they are the digital equivalent of house flippers is a sustainable business practice (whole company made 1 original game and it was a Kung Fu Panda one. Everythibg else is them buying out dead game pr even kickstarter scams and trying to make them into real videogames).

man, who could've seen that coming lmao

I, for one, did not expect him to admit it to my face.

Maybe out of some bizarre desire to help a gem in the rough shine once more

not in a million years lmao. i bet they're thinking "this is the only game we've got that anyone, even a niche crowd. is interested in." lol

Maybe they just think that buying dead games and refurbishing them like they are the digital equivalent of house flippers is a sustainable business practice

that sounds about right desu

(whole company made 1 original game and it was a Kung Fu Panda one. Everythibg else is them buying out dead game pr even kickstarter scams and trying to make them into real videogames).

mfw. can't imagine how sad the CEO of that trash tier company has to be lmao. revolving their professional life to something like that

The fact that anyone with a brain can figure out that Josh is just using belief as an excuse to get revenge against Caesar which he himself even acknowledges if you convince him not to execute General Gobbledygook. It’s a story about people that have been through and done terrible shit trying to help people who have to deal with some of the terrible shit because of them.

I, for one, did not expect him to admit it to my face.

yeah i didn't either lmao

link the koikatsu card

Shit dude, you played it too? I loved that game despite it's jank. The map was astonishingly big even by today's standards.
Do you know if the classic server is still up and running?

ideally an NCR or Vault City or Wright Family citizen because I really like the idea of basically just living in a small-scale first world nation in the middle of a nuclear post apocalypse and then getting to explore it, Fallout 2 and New Vegas are amazing because you get to explore a more developed world with structured societies that are really cool
failing that being a tribal would be cool so long as i can actually leave the tribe and explore the world, eventually becoming actually civilized ala the Chosen One's story in 2

It is running. It is also largely dead. Money keeps inflating so things that used to cost 10 reds back before I got banned now cost 1 yellow. It's mostly a handful of old guard autists who still log in occasionally. I very rarely log in to shitpost in Global. Don't play it anymore personally after the ban. For what it's worth, however, none of the mods seem to want to log in anymore. Guess lording over a chat where nobody says anything wasn't very appealing (I take credit for at least 50% of Global's post traffic).

I'm thinking of playing it with my friend whom I played with back in the day. How does it even work, surely Gamersfirst accounts are no longer a thing? Do you just launch the game and play now?

not in a million years lmao.

They did put up the temporary "classic" server that doesn't even have a cash shop and only bleeds money (no donations set up, nothing). Just for the veterans to play around in while waiting. Maybe there is at least a pretence of wanting to save doomed games. One way or another it is misguided.

Gamersirs accounts are a thing. The new company took over entire platform, forums and websites and everything. You just use the same G1 acc you had.

Do I also get my stuff I stupidly bought from the cash shop back then

No. Full wipe. From scratch. Nobody gets anything grom the old server. They did add wardrobe unlocks that can be bought for like 2b (essentially feee) so we could play dressup.

the first fallout game literally forces you to find and wear anti-psyker headgear so that you dont have your brain explode by psychic auras while travelling through a tunnel of living meat in order to find the final boss.

Alright then, I always used the damaged clone outfit because it had main character vibes. Also had the Alienware promo gun that was basically better than anything else at it's level, but that's probably gone.

That, or take a perk for it. But considering how few perks you get in the game and the comparatively low level cap, it's kind of a waste.

Borderlands is that way, anon

wait, what perk do you pick for something as specific as "psychic aura" from the master?

level 15+ perk, mental block, makes you immune to psychic attacks

Mental Block, a level 15 perk. It confers immunity to psychic attacks, which is precisely as limited as it sounds, and the flavor text notes you probably learned it either from a guru or from some serious binge drinking.

based

thanks

which is precisely as limited as it sounds

yeah no kidding

For the european one its more like

your offering of tea has broken an unspoken vow

we will now replace your children with gremlins and fuck your wife while you sleep

Lmao just kill me

Alienware promo gun was actually complete dogshit if you knew your way around the crafting system. Every single "tier" of the gun had a level-appropriated crafted equivalent with superior stats. I know this because I used to be a massive crafting sperg.
But ye, there is nothing left of your old data.

Bear sex 3 gets popular

Bethesda: let's make our games even dumber

It's over

A thread with both fallout conversation and anna posting would be the perfect thread. We deserve both

XCOM gameplay, but with action points and old-school overworld traveling and random encounters. Also, either return to the originals tone and art style without compromise, or wipe the slate clean and have a total aesthetic reboot, like Tactics and FO3 did.

1563028088978.jpg - 1920x978, 318.33K

I'm a little surprised Tactics hasn't been revisited at all after being declared semi-canon by Bethesda.

1719706677922.jpg - 635x845, 257.4K

Emil actually canonized Tactics the sametime he declared nate to be a war criminal (I'm serious)

NATE THE RAKE.jpg - 1041x632, 68.08K

Balancing broken tools by making them scarce is game balance 101 anon chan. The sex thing is genuinely just a writing and world design thing, cars aren't a hard thing to implement and would fall more on, again, the world design making them useful
The only real troublesome thing is suddenly shoving destroyable enviroments into a game like this, because that would imply more locations than just your settlement need to have that level of interaction.

Hey, if Nate the Rake had to deal with a few leaves in his day, who could blame him?
youtu.be/VvQjidSbuec

Well, improving the RPG aspects for one, continuing to expand the depth of companion storylines and quests including the ability to change said companions to a degree (encourage fix your waifu or make her worse), better integration of one's actions and the consequences into the storyline, or at least come up as an option to discuss. (I feel like telling the Railroad and Brotherhood who those Institute informants were would have been useful to them. Or telling Maxson as Minuteman general I could easily ensure cooperation with the BoS but he didn't wanna discuss it)

Also this stuff, but not just cars, other vehicles too. Trains, boats, planes. Could be cool to do outright mecha. Also: quirky themed raider gangs and not just generic raiders.

Emil actually canonized Tactics

explain what emil said

FO4 is a decade old at this point

I had to look this up and fuck me it really is. I'm old.

quirky themed raider gangs

isn't that just nuka world? with the 3 different raider gangs doing their own styles?

BASED
too bad those mods are so fucking hard to find nowadays

Yes, and it was a semi-decent start. Now they just need to expand on such things and make it part of the base game.

During the debate over the canonicity of the TV show that happened earlier this year, he specified that all the games (except THAT brotherhood of steel game, which he didn't mention) were canon. including tactics and of course NV. come to think of it I'm not sure why people though it wouldn't be canon in the Bethesda fallouts, considering they've never had any real animosity towards both the OG games and NV.

Add a mutation perk that lets me seduce female deathclaws into companions and a science/medicine check somewhere that lets me give them massive breasts. Bonus points for intelligent ones as an option somewhere too.

samefag

file.png - 1128x472, 528.28K

fair. i was really surprised to see fallout tactics shit in the fallout magic the gathering packs

Well, the midwestern hairy deathclaws might be canon now.

You know, I don't mind intelligent deathclaws, but I tend to lean towards them not speaking. More setting ambushes and traps along with maybe some armor and clothing, possibly made through slaves or servants.

I'd want to ask 'where the fuck do they get hair from when they're spawned from Jackson Chameleons, but deathclaws, as is, have very little in common with chameleons so who knows what else got used.

I believe the Midwestern deathclaws are a form of convergent evolution with an as-yet-unidentified mammalian base. Maybe it's the result of a similar FEV strain leaking into the ecosystem around the Chicago ruins, maybe it's just a quirk of the area's background radiation. Whatever their origin, they're big, scary, and vicious enough to pass for the originals in the eyes of the Brotherhood exiles.

FOT_deathclaw.png - 310x421, 156.87K

then you are a tranny anon dick sucker, which is even WORSE

can you sex them or is it just nude mod
