I TRIED SO HARD
AND GOT SO FAR

Struggling to beat a year old game

Embarrassing

70.000 is bad

Homie inquisition has a 4900 all time peak on steam and was still a success with 12 millon units sold because of the console market, this game is likely doubling if these are the pc sales.

Inquisition was an origin exclusive for like 5 full years after launch

now imagine when it starts dropping like all games do... will be under 10k concurrent players. this is why you don't let the mentally ill design your games.

inquisition didn't come out on steam at premiere you dumbfuck

Bioware is dead and you know it chuddy

Inquisition was released over 10 years ago. You can't make a AAA game with a 100-200 million dollar budget and sell under 100k games.

Keep trying, tranny! just a little more, haha! Sorry to tell you little faggot but it is the first Dragon Age released on Steam from the start. Plus there was the whole Nvidia deal so a lot of players that tried it did it because of that since it was free. Bioware is over and that is a good thing.

There's like 80 other games between Dreadwolf and BG3. It's not even top 25 in 2024.

If your sole comparison is BG3 then every single RPG that ever existed and in the next 10 years is a failure
Dumb thread

It was an Origin exclusive lol
And you forgot that Xbox players don't buy games anymore due to game pass, 12 million is 100% not happening, not even half that, actually.

70.000 is bad

70k is bad for a AAA game that has been 10 years in the making, just look at Shitfield with 300k.

It is doing even worse than divinity 2..

Ok, how about comparing to Slopfield then? Still smashes the shit out of Dragon Age.

Chudbros.... I thought doing nothing was the solution.... we lost.... It's over...

.000 is bad
it is bad for a game that had 10+ year dev time and 500 million+ budget

Inquisition was only released on Steam in 2020.

Dude, it's doing Skyrim SE numbers at its peak. You know, that version that dropped out of nowhere and no one wanted because it had no mod support.

damn you people got really desperate, you are now comparing it to the best selling CRPG ever, which also was a woke game btw

just take the L, the game sold ok and your bitching did nothing at the end of the day

1635031683709.gif - 500x375, 616.56K

Both games are shit, hopefully the woke western vidya industry will collapse

sold OK

lost to space marine 2

lost to starfield

not even close either, 30% of the sales

lmao. 10 years and hundreds of millions in dev and marketing gone. Even if it breaks even thats 10 years for ZERO RETURN ON INVESTMENT

bg3 is not shit by any measure. the pozzed politics is a shame but it's a great game

now compare it to the original skyrim

it is bad for a game that had 10+ year dev time and 500 million+ budget

source?

yes it's really bad for its budget and dev time

Why are you comparing it to another woke game

Inquisition didn't come out on steam day 1 and big budget AAA games need to sell more than they needed to a decade ago to be considered a success or at least make a profit.

literally the same level as metaphor
which also happens to be a SP rpg, so samey target audience
if anything your picrel says it's doing pretty well

So don't go around posting this screen

literally the same level as metaphor

Which is made by a smaller team, smaller time frame and smaller budget and it LOST to it.
This is fucking bioware we're talking about.

>lost to space marine 2

>lost to starfield

oh it lost to two of the best selling games of their respective years? damn i got owned,it must be a failure because it only beat:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Resident Evil 3

Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition

Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition

DRAGON BALL FighterZ

Persona 3 Reload

Persona 5 Royal

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 1

all well known failure that forever destroyed the developers that created those games, as we all know

1635629617122.jpg - 325x231, 10.68K

Someone calculates the salaries cost over 10 years, please? Bioware has 330 employees. Canada average salary is...

BG3 sucks

Holy cope, tranny! You lost, chuds won. Get over it.

retep.jpg - 686x512, 53.5K

DAI sold 12 million copies. Flopguard wont even come close to that.

lmao the cope from you faggots has been glorious today.

God I hope EA shuts bioware down

250mil budget and they failed to reach 100k on steam? Mega kek.

Chuds lost

ABSOLUTE FLOP

EA expectations

Bioware is dead

Origins peaked 10 years ago, presumably from everyone preparing for Inquisition. It got a Veilguard bump too, but it was much smaller. Which is interesting because there's been a much longer gap between games this time, and you'd think more people would want to refresh their memories.

da.png - 1473x891, 349.36K

lost to Factorio

won versus several late re-releases and some fighting games

Sounds like this shit really did flop then huh?

Yeah bro, it probably only cost a few mil to run a whole studio and market your game everywhere for 10 years.

Most people bought those on origin because that was the only way to play for the longest time.

These were origin exclusive and hard origin exclusive.

Time for yet another victory lap, swenbros.

1693754713307.png - 298x364, 152.01K

What even is a flop anymore, the goal post moving is insane

AAA games that have the same day1 activity as indie games are a flop.

GTA6 has a reported budget of 2 billion. It could sell 20 million copies and would still be a giant flop.

Not turning a profit on a game with a decade-long development cycle.

bioware has about 1000 employees
let's say half of them worked on this game
the game was in development for 10 years
let's say the devs made on average 100k a year, which is the average software developer wage in canada
that's 500 million
and that's not even counting all the other costs like software and hardware needed for the development and the studio rent etc, or the huge amounts of advertising this game had

Getting less than 100k concurrent on day 1 for a game in dev 10 years is a failure.

Hey chudgods, now that you've won, can you tell me if DA: Inquisition is worth a replay? I bought the game like 10 years ago on PS4 but never got very far into it.

uncle neal.png - 745x572, 524.31K

Oh nononono trannysisters, delete this, delete this RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Not sure if disingenuous or cope (both?) but I'm having a grand old time laughing at you morons today hahaha

None of those games you listed ran the development companies over $250m to make.

I guess if you're really hankering for a new rpg, it's okay in a pinch. Horrible, horrible combat howmstever.
Maybe play it on easy just to reduce the mindnumbing grindiness of it all.

needing to sell 7million copies to break even

LMAO

Are you under the impression that EA wasn't expecting this, a flagship franchise for Bioware, to even approach Starfield and Space Marine? You good bro?

A game that comes no where close to recouping it’s costs, obviously?
Can you not tell the difference between a man and a woman either?

Saying cisquistion was a success is disingenuous at best, people bought that trash because bioware wasnt fully exposed yet..andromeda is a better comparison of sales due to it being in the modern bioware ecosystem.

Andromeda sold just about 4 million by most estimates. Veilguard will not even sell half of that

imagine thinking 70k is a flop, vpol truly is even more mentally ill than trannies

vpol truly is even more mentally ill than trannies

yep

GTA is a live service game
There's no in game micro-transactions in Dragons Age yet

You're the sort of person who gets stumped by a hypothetical "how would you have felt if you hadn't eaten breakfast?" question. Absolute fucking moron.

70k for a AAA game is not a lot.

It's just a roundabout way of saying it depends on the game. 70k for Dustborn is a massive success. 70k for Dragon Age (or any other AAA) is pretty bad. 70k for GTA6 means the industry has died.

trending on steam

made back its money

has a high player count

"flop"

Whens the next goal post shift, we already reached "Reviews were paid and players are bots/paid employees"

made its money back

Nearly 10 years of development hell, and you get 70k players peak? That's bad.

BG3 sucks

70k x $70≠ making your money back

anon that is at least 4, 200, 000 dollars

Some people think these companies are a non-profit

How much do you think game development costs my friend? This isn't a small indie or AA game. This is EA, who demand 5 million sales to break even, and furthermore this is an EA game in development for TEN YEARS.

Lol didn't know bioware and EA were an indie studio

it is indeed bad for a game that was in development for 10 whole ass years and probably had a small country's GDP as budget.
Is all about perspective.

expecting the shill to act in good faith

Wait the biowaretroons are the chuds now?!
I don't know who's chudding who!

unnamed.jpg - 1200x630, 119.09K

cope, keep pretending you don't understand the nuance.
DEIguard flopped

you say that like this game was a failure or something. how is it doing against pillar of eternity? how is it doing against Kingmakers? exactly,

weak falseflag. With those numbers they won't even be able to cover marketing costs

lose to atlus game with zero marketing

I've literally never heard of Metaphor until today and I'm someone who was obsessed with persona series. It's a fucking flop. Skill Up review alone stopped 1 million people from buying the game.

there's two kinds of flop

wasn't well received by gamers (target demo)

didn't sell well enough to be a financial success.

considering this game was explicitly mass appeal slop, so capital G Gamers weren't the target. And the it took 10 years and hundreds of millions to make, it's safe to say it was a flop on both fronts

Both of those are very cheaply made.

cope, you know damn well this game needed at least one extra zero on that player count to financially succeed

made back it's money

SOURCE?

you say that like this game was a failure or something

DOS2 is not a failiure but is a lot cheaper than Veilguard, had a way smalled marketing budget and took less time to develop.

jesus you retards are so easy to bait

Reviews were paid and players are bots/paid employees

the 3 reviewers who were less than hyper positive about their playtest experience were denied review codes. The reviews were absolutely curated.

Metaphor isn't an AAA game and had almost no marketing and shilling compared to DA.

why are shilltrannies suddenly pretending not to know how budget and profit works?

I wish this actually flopped

how is one of the formerly most prestigious studios faring against niche low budge russian studio?

Why does Anon Babble pretend to know budgets?

Indie

Anything above 5k os a tremendous success

AA

Anything above 50k is a success

AAA

Anything above 100k~200k since AAA budgets are fucking wild.

Shalom, tourist.

made back its money

Lol

Because we've had budget leaks for literal years. Hell we had a big Sony leak not long ago and showed how fucking insane their budgets are.

which also was a woke game btw

Leans in on killing refugees

Pushes you to be evil

First party member is a literal nazi super soldier

Canon protagonist is a white skinned Uber terminator

It had years of dev hell, 200k might be conservative.

lost 5000 players in 2 hours on night of release

DOCTOR, I CAN'T STOP THE BLEEDING

2_hours.png - 379x625, 30.62K

it's not hard to estimate the budget when you know the approximate development time and number of employees

owlcat has less than half the employees compared to bioware and is located in a country where the average wages are much lower
their games also have shorter development times
all this adds up to a much lower budget than bioware's games, which means they dont need to sell nearly as much to make profit

why does newfag not lurk moar?
