Which games do you look forward to get switch 2 upgrades?

Which games do you look forward to get switch 2 upgrades?

none I want new games

All I want are FPS and resolution boosts. I have no interest in daily log in bonuses like BOTW and TOTK have.

Kirby Discovery Starry World is a GOTY contender for me

aren't all switch 1 games getting upgrades?

no it doesnt give a native boost

The Xenoblades, Astral Chain, Bayonetta trilogy, Smash, Metal Slug Tactics

a lot of them get free graphical upgrades, but only a handful will get new (paid) content

astral chain, bayo 3, the xenoblade games, nier automata, ys IX

who looks forward to throwing away money for shit that should be free

What? I heard the opposite, that all the games will run like they were on an overclocked Switch at least

microsoft does what nintendont

it is free
on PC

I'm highly interesting in the upgrade for BotW/TotK, but the ones I desire most are the Xeno games. especially X2.
Astral Chain would be a cool random game to have upgraded too.

vegan

I guess it will prevent any frame drops from the switch 1 struggling
but it's not going to make games run at higher resolution or framerate than what was intended on the switch 1 unless devs specifically update the game for it

Kirby air riders but I can't help but have this sinking feeling they're going to shit up city trial

tech illiterate retard

That would be enough for some games, like bayoneta 3 that have uncapped framerate, or Age of Calamity that runs like shit on the original Switch

this list doesnt mean anything and I assume half the titles are just to enable single-cart local wireless play like clubhouse games

Morbidly curious if the switch's 2 extra power can make pokemon games run at a stable framerate for the first time since the fucking GBA and DS.

Nu-Pirate who lets real men do all the work for him

Downloads roms and barely understands how anything works

Calls other illiterate

Back in the day pirates knew what they were doing and weren't stupid enough to brag about emulation where the companies would catch wind about it. You modern degenerates are incompetent and do nothing but bring un-needed attention.

Pikmin 4. Already planning to buy it again digitally so the new SD cards can fix the loading times. Also Fire Emblem: Engage/Three Houses & Hopes would be nice.

I'm hoping Metroid Dread gets some upgrades, like removing the obnoxious 20 second load times between zones, and getting rid of those atrocious cinematic parries that turn half the game into a God of War QTE simulator. Would definitely improve the game.

Will still look like 30 FPS mush. Will just be stable.

weren't stupid enough to brag about emulation where the companies would catch wind about it

who cares? i can still download yuzu and ryujinx
nintendo dug their own grave when they released a DLC pack for $70, it's not a surprise that it was pirated over a billion times

Almost certain splatoon 3 will get one so i’m looking forward to see how that improves. Also expect to see mouse support added as well and would be nice to see how it plays with that

concession accepted

also dilation, sneedation, niggeration etc

Why is the MK8D upgrade $80? Are all the upgrades gonna cost that much?

console Pokémon games looks ass at the core, so the upgrade won't go very far.

How is Monster Hunter Rise? would that get a lot out of Switch 2 boost?

Will run at 30 fps completely stables

He's asked for stable framerate, not better graphics. Everyone knows the free upgrade won't improve it visually lol

hyrule warriors age of calamity. I don't know if the switch 2 is capable of making it run at 60 fps but anything would be an improvement.

Bloodstained.
Also. Trailer for Ritual of the Night 2 when?

Switch 2 does 4k at 60fps or 1080p at 120fps, depending on the game.

where's the line items for dicking around with graphics and controller settings for four hours?

or do you not value your time?

It's a new game.

Very funny

Switch 2 does 4k at 60fps

BOTW and TOTK will run at 1440p60 according to nintendo

where's the line items for dicking around with graphics and controller settings for four hours?

it takes a few minutes to set up the graphics settings to your liking (enhanced resolution, shadows, draw distance, etc)
controllers are autodetected and mapped to the pro controller by the emulator
then it takes like 5 minutes to compile all the shaders for the first time

TLDR you're retarded

There are thousands of poorly optimized third party games that would benefit from the upgrade.

But all the xeno games are obviously the most gimped.

Wouldn't games with unlocked frame rates get a boost just because of the hardware?
Take Hyrule Warriors for example, it hovers around 40-60fps on Switch 1 but I would assume just because of the hardware upgrade Switch 2 has it'll most likely be a solid 60fps right

Astral Chain would benefit it from a 60fps patch and have it run at 4K. Xenoblade 2 is another one.

OIP (32).jpg - 474x266, 30.66K

Mario Kart and Bananza

Some of these heavily graphic Switch games will probably run at 1440p to get it to run at 60fps. Isn't Breath/Tears Zelda games running at 1440p?

Astral Chain
Bayonetta 1-2-3 + Origins
Pikmin 4 with added content

Diablo 2, 3, Witcher 3

Not many really, I mean anything that I already played I probably wouldn't replay because it got a patch anyway.

here's your new psp, better buy the 7th release of last of us to play on it

Yeah, games that struggle to maintain their frame caps should be able to do it without issue. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were notorious for this.
Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom should never drop to 30, and those games are getting dedicated updates regardless which'll probably let them run at 4k60 or maybe 1080p120 / 1440p120.

Bakeru is an odd case of a game that caps at 60 but seldom reaches that cap, I'm looking forward to that one performing well.
As for resolution in general, I don't see why they can't just force the output resolution to be 4k by doing 2x 1080p like Ryujinx and Yuzu can do. Actual resolution changes will be things like modifying the internal dynamic resolutions, such as how Tears of the Kingdom runs an internal 900p with FidelityFX to help make it look nicer at 1080p output.

A couple games that desperately need 30 FPS cap removals are things like Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, and Mario & Luigi Brothership. I outright avoided playing them on Switch for that reason, and emulation wasn't satisfactory.
I'm worried that a lot of the back catalogue will just get ignored for months or years at a time, even though it should in practice just be simple parameter modifications like homebrew mods for emulators and overclocked Switch systems have been doing for years.
I don't want to get into a situation where Switch 2 modding is necessary to do what Nintendo won't.

gaming is dead

fpbp. who the fuck is buying a switch 2 to keep playing switch 1 games???

A select few are getting free updates (what they do exactly isn't clear)
A slimmer select few are getting Switch 2 Editions which will be a premium upgrade that adds some sort of expansion. (Kirby gets a new mode, Zelda gets a new companion app with lore)
Expect Nintendo to drip feed the free updates through the years.

What I'm curious about is how third parties will handle this.
Whether Nintendo will encourage devs to go back and enhance their own games, whether devs will say fuck it and re-release their games at full price on Switch 2 because so many of them drop their shitty ports to $10 during sales and they don't want to lose money on doing optimization over people who just buy cheap shit on the eShop or if they just won't bother at all and the Switch 2 will continue to just have a ton of

x game on the system but it's only the shitty Switch 1 version

We still don't know if Hogwarts Legacy is an upgrade pack or a new release.

There are several third-parties I would like to try again on the Switch 2 to see how far the BC improve them in performance stability, namely:

Resident Evil 6

Serious Sam 3

Earth Defense Force 4.1

Earth Defense Force World Brothers 2

Kingdom Come Deliverance

Risk of Rain 2

The Talos Principle

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge

R-Type Final 2

Batman Arkham Knight (got it from the bundle since the ports weren't sold separately before) would be a fun experience considering how terribly broken it originally was.
and why not?

may improve performance

Having the Links Awakening remake running smoothly will be nice.

me

I'm hoping third party games also get upgrade packs because most of them run and look like shit. Also cloud game owners can get native ports for free (not happening)

Good news. It's getting a free upgrade

pretty much

All games will benefit. The free update at the very least is to add quality/performance toggles

Astral Chain
