I just replayed pic related after some time and I still believe this is a great game. It is a shame it never got more popular

It is the best J-Action game of all time and people are missing out.

Go back to twitter, Kamiya

Blame tendies for refusing to buy the game on Wii U
Blame Shitendo for refusing the pitch of using nintendo characters as the heroes just to trick tendies into buying it
Blame Kamiya for wanting to negotiate with japanese EA

release your gameboy game matt you enormous irish faggot

It filtered far too many people, especially on Anon Babble. Most couldn't even get through the first stage and the bronze reward hurt their ego so they gave up.

it's pretty fun playing this with my drawing tablet on pc
weird that works out better than using the stylus on the wii u, wonder how much better the game would've done as a wii or 3ds release though

It filtered me so hard I couldn't even get to the Steam Page.
I quit at reading Anon Babble threads and laughing about its player count in steam charts threads.

Truly a very high skill based game

Stacking fist, sword, hammer, whip etc... and have them all go off at the same time absolutely gangbanging the enemies will always feel so damn good. But it is pretty much a given that a game anywhere close to being similar will never be made today. Maybe if the WiiU didn't flop like shit it would have had a better chance at life.

I agree, Matthew

Wonderful 101 people who actually bothered playing

Just shows that tendies shilling their slop on Anon Babble is as fucking irrelevant as you can get.
It's casuals, children, parents and trannies buying 20+ million Mario Kart and Pokemon games.
Actual gamers do not care for Nintendo games or their console's

Actual gamers don't exist anymore, more like. It's all GaayS dopamine slop and milquetoast bing bang wahoo garbage.

seething about nintendo over a multiplat

Brain damaged

tendies tendies tendies reeeeeee blame tendies why won't you blame tendies hate tendies like me *shit self* AAAACCCCKKKK

why is he like that

multiplat

Whip out that steam charts image mate.
I think it sold around 101 copies on Steam. There have been 10 times as many threads on here as that alone

Why don't good games sell anymore?

Truth hurts

Well, maybe you should have fucking bought the game you massive fucking faggot
Good job killing off a great potential franchise, kys

it released on every platform under the sun, you are a genetic failure

It's awesome, one of the best

fpbp

It's on steam so it will always be a hidden gem that people can play for hundreds of years.

It took nearly 10 years for the game to rerelease everywhere else. By that time, everyone was already tired of fucking waiting and already emulated the game. You braindead tendies had to duty of buying the game when it was a Wii U exclusive, but you failed to do so.
Again, good job being a massive fucking faggot

It took nearl*incoherent inbred drivel*

I see

I got meme'd into supporting the kickstarter for the game, but I never finished it. I finished Bayo 1 & 2, Bayo Origins and Astral Chain, but really just couldn't be bothered to finish this one. And I like toku (well, Rider more specifically).

Anon Babble, unite up and post your favorite Wonder!

wonder red.webm - 1280x720, 2.9M

I'm the same

I tried so hard to enjoy the game but the patented kamiya minigames constantly interrupted my fun and after about ten hours of trying to get better at the core combat I just couldn't be arsed anymore when I reached yet another slow as molasses isometric shoot em up section

we get it you bald faggot you really liked viewpoint

Should i emulate it? How well does it run? Does it need the wii u tablet

Filtered

larping as a fromtranny

this works when your game is successful, not a gigabomba no one likes

True. Sorry. I will stop doing that

its on steam man

game uses the right stick for something that isn't dodging or camera control

best game ever made

WHY DON'T MORE GAMES DO THIS

The setting and characters look so incredibly boring and unappealing to me.
Tell me why I should play it anyways. Shill it to me.

What the fuck, for real? I am quite impressed. Favorite attack combo and favorite wonderful one?

The setting and characters look so incredibly boring and unappealing to me.

Nigger that's the best part. It reeks of S O U L

I also blame Nintendo for not using Smash to advertise it.

I just broke out my Wii U after many years and realized I still have this in the original shrink wrap. I wonder if it's worth anything. Or maybe I should finally just unwrap it and play it.

When's the game coming out, Matt?

CAG's deserved their recent decline.

I don't think true action games will come back unless people finally play real methodical BTU's and understand how hurtful for action games the loss of Godhand really was.

color coding

RPG mechanics

dodge/parry centered game design

single out enemies for sand bagging, rather than crowd control based design i.e. BTU's, RE4, RE5, NG2 and even Godhand.

ranking systems that imply low skill ceilings and no proper scoring to encourage proper exploration of mechanics and playstyles.

difficulty unlocks that require long playtimes to get to

I enjoy CAG's but at this point DMC fans deserve that Soulslike remake and every Action RPG currently taking over.
If you have even remotely any opinions on how progression mechanics, parries, optics and slow pacing are more profitable than true skill-based design,
play these games and try to 1CC them, start with easy mode 1cc's to get used to the playstyle:

SoR2

The Punisher

Fight n Rage

Cadillacs & Dinosaurs

Violent Storm

Final Fight (extremely difficult but in some ways the best)

Fuck all this CAG shit, it was always gonna lead to Action RPG's. They've always been RPG's moreso than real BTU's.

I can't help you change your taste. The setting is very Saturday morning cartoon, which I personally loved. It's very cheesy and doesn't take itself seriously. Just look at the PROTECT EARTH webm above your post. But that's part of the appeal to me. The characters are very tropey, which I could understand why people may find them boring, but I think the dynamic everyone has together makes it fun overall. The game oozes charm and soul, I usually skip cutscenes in these Character Action/DMC-like/whateverthefuck games but I didn't for this game. However, I don't think story and setting is what most people go for when playing these types of games
Before I shill this game to anyone, I always mention that it's ok if you don't like it. I definitely didn't for almost half the game when I first played it. The game REALLY opens up when you start getting more of your attack types and Wonder-Ones, and when it started clicking for me I felt goddamn powerful. But the game will demand a lot from you, and a lot of things aren't outright explained. I want to say the game purposely makes it hard for you to enjoy it, especially with the constant "gameplay whiplashes" (playing Punch Out one minute before it goes back to the regular gameplay before switching again to Galaga or someshit), and with these types of games, the first playthrough is usually the "tutorial" before you get everything and can more easily do multiple runs. However the game is actually decently long, doesn't hold your hand and vaguely explains some mechanics so I think most people get turned off pretty quickly.
I know all that sounds overall mostly negative, I'm not sure what I can do to really sell the game to you. Once you get most of your weapons, you can really start getting creative with how you approach fights, and can start getting really stylish/cuhrazyy as you get better at the game.

play game few weeks after port comes out

get to final level

clip through floor and softlock

never play it again

I remember even playing the Remastered version when it came out, the first three operations were brutal. Even though I already knew what to do. Playing the game without your stuff unlocked is a lot more difficult than it probably should be, although maybe they did that to make replays better?

yeah easily my favorite WiiU and Platinum game in general. shame it was too kino and experimental gameplay wise to be successful

I loved it, but objectively speaking it's a combination of things the masses hate.
Nobody cares for super sentai, nobody cares for ensemble casts if it's not nostalgia pandering shit or a remake, nobody cares for action games that aren't rollshit or parryshit, nobody cares for high scores but their ego still get bruised by plastic trophies. Also dodge and parry being hidden in the shop filtered retards, but then again W101 was bound to filter retards.
People would rather buy soulless derivative diarrhea shit like Salt&Sanctuary than a genuinely original game.

too bad they never fixed the UI

I really wanted to like this game but I just couldn't. I don't like how the game is very bad at teaching you how to play it despite being such an unorthodox action game. Admittedly, this is a problem with almost every Kamiya game. Bayonetta, for example, never bothers teaching you about Dodge Offset properly, despite it being very, very important. I still think TW101 is the worst offender at this, though. I also don't like how this game has so many mini-games, QTEs, and other gimmicky stuff. It was bad enough in Bayonetta, but I was able to at least tolerate it there. It's beyond unberable in this game, though. There's some time-wasting bullshit every five minutes and it just pisses me off.

Fave combo

For bigger enemies I like doing Stinger with the Gun until they're stunned, warp to them, riser with the Sword, throw a Bomb, few hits with sword, switch to Fist with a Riser hit them etc. I usually try to sneak in some Wonder White team attacks to add to multiplier. Wonder Blue and Red team attacks are also really good, especially when using Wonder Cyclone. Great for juggling. I kinda like abusing bombs, they are definitely one of the better weapons, but it's strictly utility. You definitely don't want to equip Wonder Black, just use him as a team attack.

Fave One

It's been a while, I remember liking Wonder-PC just for how retarded it was. I also really liked Poseman but you don't have him for most of the game.
I wish discussion about this game didn't devolve into talking about some autistic irishman.

Pics or didn't reel

Wait I'm not done over-explaining

very funny game, though wonder pink could get a bit grating. funnily enough both her character and her unite morph were my least favorite, really hated how pace breaking the thorned dough-goos were. at least the turtles had more than one solution to fight

It was my favorite game of all time when I beat it a little over a decade ago. It was #2 for years and just when I thought it was faltering Remastered came out. That said, with time I've realized that for as great as it is, it's a REALLY daunting replay unless you're going for rank & completion stage by stage. I've also just played games I've fallen in love with since. Still probably Top 10, Top 20 at worst, and Wonder Red is my favorite protagonist in vidya. It's only my #2 Platinum game though, since I've realized I like Devastation more overall.

I'll buy it from you. It's not worth much, about 25USD according to Pricecharting.

I just didn’t like the color coded enemies, I wanted the play how I wanted to play not being forced to constantly switch weapons I didn’t like just for specific enemies.

Most of the enemies with weaknesses have multiple ways to get at them, even technically the blobs meant for Sword can be hurt by all bladed Morphs (which opens up a lot once you unlock all the post-game characters/Morphs). It's not quite as elegant as DMC1's critical hit system but I think it works especially with how easy it is to swap Morphs.

There's some time-wasting bullshit every five minutes and it just pisses me off.

this is the game's fatal flaw, it completely kills it

the other bullshit could be chalked up to the game design being old school and forcing you to engage with the system and mechanics but the constant interruptions with shallow nothing arcade sections, terrible puzzles or dreadful platforming/traversal phases makes the idea of sitting through it a chore, so I just don't bother

There are more people in this thread than people on steam that beat this game

One of the best games ever made, wish I could erase it from my memory just to replay it again
