I only buy indie games, usually puzzlers, that I want to show support to the creatives for. I still pirate some indies, and don't play modern AAA. We eat good on the indie market but you do have to filter out a LOT of slop.

Meanwhile most western games are generic hero shooters or some walking simulator. Truly not formulaic at all. Japs have much higher diversity as well.
