Oblivion is a hard game

oblivion is a hard game

Oblivion is so fucking kino

umbra

cringing hard

Umbra is good but I like the enchanted ones that deal elemental damage more.
None of them have as much raw damage as umbra though.
Also Umbra+Azura's star means you'll never run out of enchanted weapon charges, you can have unlimited enchanted weapons constantly charged.
Sure you can cast soul trap but its kind of a pain to switch spells when you can just bonk it with a sword and get their souls trapped.

no one says oblivion is hard, the 100% chameleon trick has been known for years

Umbra's enchantment is very wasteful, you don't need a 120s soul trap. A better weapon is like,

20pts [element] for 1s

1s soul trap

2s weakness to [element]

2s weakness to magicka

On one of the faster weapon types like daggers. It will ramp its own damage very quickly, killing shit on master in a couple hits and fuel itself too

how do you pronounce dreugh?

I decided to download a damage mod for the game because it took way too long to kill an enemy even with enchanted gear that gives me +100 blade skill and another +100 fortify spell

"dreg", they say it ingame

My basic reaction to all the complaints about the original's level scaling. It was bad because it was dumb seeing trash-mob bandits running around in high level gear, not because it made it difficult by "messing up your character by leveling the wrong stats". Like most retarded opinions nowadays, I'm assuming it's repeated by zoomers who never played the original and were instructed on what to think by some youtuber

Just like Morrowind and Starfield, Oblivion is hard when you don't think outside the box.

does the remaster still have the retarded leveling system where you can't level up before you've maxed out five skills or enemies outscale you

skills over 100 do nothing and physical damage is always dogshit

you get 12 points to spread into any stats you want on levelups and endurance is retroactive so you don't need spreadsheet planning to play the game. but enemy scaling is unchanged

droof

skills over 100 do nothing

Wrong.

you are probbly confusing skills with attributes, newbie. skills over 100 do nothing.

Playing for the first time here, I have some questions.

I'm levelling fast and better spells cost more magicka, but how do I get more magicka and magicka regen

spell making and enchanting need ludicrous amounts of money, alchemy and thievery give me ok money but where can I get more

how can I level stealth fast

Not exactly true. The base game caps skills at 100 in terms of effectiveness, but with exploits, mods, or specific enchantments, you can push skills past that and still gain benefits depending on the mechanic. For example, over-100 Athletics or Acrobatics won’t do much, but Blade over 100 can still contribute to hitting damage caps or swing speed under certain conditions. Plus, some mods and patches let those gains carry over. Vanilla limits are dumb, yeah, but don’t write it all off as doing "nothing.”

lolblibion is worth talking about

yes you can forget about that page in remastered

Yes yes very cool.
How's the titty-mods though?

Shield bash scales with STR over 100. It's likely a bug, but also the most sensible melee damage scaling on high levels compared to normal weapon types.

I'm levelling fast and better spells cost more magicka, but how do I get more magicka and magicka regen

Increase Intelligence and Willpower when you level up, spell costs also decrease as your skill in that school increases. Use enchantments for foritfy magicka.

spell making and enchanting need ludicrous amounts of money, alchemy and thievery give me ok money but where can I get more

How are you even making any money from stealing things? It's a pointless endeavor in vanilla Oblivion. Just hit some dungeons and sell the loot. You could also do the Order of the Virtuous Blood quest which lets you sell vampire dust for 250 gold each once you've finished it, you can make a decent amount of money as a vampire hunter. Vampire dungeons also have good loot, so it's a win-win.

>how can I level stealth fast

I don't really know if there's a fast way to level it, I've never tried. I know there are a few exploits with certain 'frozen' NPCs that you can repeatedly sneak attack forever, but I can't remember anything specific.

more like TRANNYBLIVION HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

how can I level stealth fast

The Thiefs Guild story line will lead you to a monastery of blind month monks. Since they are blind they can't spot you if you sneak, so you can go into the cellar below where they sleep, run into a corner and constantly gain experience for the skill.

>umbra

Why did they make it so that enchanted items no longer recharge over time?
Having to make sure that you've always got a steady supply of vacant soul gems and then do the whole soul trap spell thing, over and over all the time, just so that your enchanted items won't be disposable. Kind of sucks major ass and isn't very fun.
Gathering soul gems and doing soul trap spells and killing them while the spell is still active, is kind of fun if you can actually use the gem to get an enchanted item that you can keep and keep using. Kind of like catching pokemon or whatever.
But for something disposable?

If they thought enchanted items were too strong then they could have made them weaker. Or made the natural recharge slower. Anything.
Why did they go for the worst absolute option? And then they repeated it with Skyrim. And with how shit modern Bethesda are, I expect it to be no different for TES6.

Magicka regen scales with max magicka. Increasing INT is way more efficient for regen than willpower until very high amounts.
Money is completely level based, at high levels pleb bandits and marauders have top tier gear and you will get infinitely rich by selling it.
Stealth is leveled by sneaking near sleeping people.

you can do the same with
drain health 100
soul trap
weakness to magic

Goes up slower than an elemental weapon, but better one-shotting on difficulties less than master
or mix and match with elements as well, doesn't matter.
What I think is cool is making a weapon where the enemy loses all their strength or fatigue so they drop their weapons and don't do anything

this lol, it's the easiest way to spot a cheater. it's like a giant EASY MODE banner across the screen.

I think I fucked up bad, I didn’t realise you only leveled when you slept, I was just doing shit for ages, watching my skills go up, I finally went to sleep and realised what happened, I jumped from level 1-10, now I’m getting wrecked by everything because my gear is dogshit, how do I get good weapons fast without needing to fight stuff?

Magicka regen scales with max magicka.

Not in remastered

Magicka Regeneration is now a constant value determined solely(?) by your Willpower instead of a percentage of your Max Magicka determined by your Willpower. The increase in regeneration per point of Willpower is exponential, meaning every point of Willpower is more impactful than the last. At 100 Willpower you regenerate somewhere around 11 Magicka per second, while at 200 Willpower you regenerate around 40 Magicka per second. Finding the exact formula will require more testing/data mining.

en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Remastered_Changes

Magicka regen is willpower only i'm afraid, it's more efficient to craft good magicka regen potions if you need unlimited magicka for a moment

ok my bad

I trained my Athletics to 200 and got to run fast as shit in the original.

i wish it was. the first 5 levels maybe, but by level 20 i have infinite money and health and i feel like im playing with a cheat engine on. been struggling to jump in and finish shivering isles but im so fucking bored just zipping around at 195 speed being invulnerable.

then why do I have 1000 mana

The same reason you can't read

Are you playing to level up because you failed to do so IRL or are you playing to enjoy the game? If getting stronger is such a deal breaker for you, just start playing MMOs and stop expecting a tight leveling curve from a single player game

turns out hand to hand doesn't make enemies fall because it cannot bring fatigue below 0

a drain/damage fatigue spell can actually still make enemies trip

if they fall down too many times it bugs out and they will never get back up because their fatigue stops regenerating for some reason

you can also do telekinesis on their ragdoll body

true. really loving it.
I don't get why there aren't 100 games like this.

It's lost art by now, people prefer to spend 80% budget on the marketing nowadays

lol that's awesome
sucks about hand to hand not ragdolling people anymore, i hope that gets fixed. it was the entire reason hand to hand was so fun

Cast paralyze on a troll

starts to tip over, then ragdolls and flings into the fucking sky

Absolute kino

yeeehaw.gif - 335x335, 2.38M

never played, is the remake worth 50€?

No.

It's worth much more than that.

Yes it is fun

it's a 20 year old game but now with even more bugs

And still better than modern games

you just don't like video games, you like shovelware

what's your favorite game?

never buy remakes, it has no denuvo btw
