CVS2 is fucked since you apparently can't roll-cancel in ranked mode, so unless Capcom fixes that I'll just stick with fightcade
Maybe if people demand it enough, they'll add an option for Roll Cancels in. They added the early build of XMvSF with all the infinites to the Marvel collection post-release because people wanted it.

Alpha 3 Upper. I hate that Capcom chose the shitty 1.0 version of Alpha 3 for the Street Fighter anniversary collection and now they're finally rectifying that.
I'm in this mostly for Project Justice Ranked and Power Stone 4-player but I'll play the rest for a while; I'm not good enough to Roll Cancel in CvS2 (and I pick K-Groove half the time) so while that's not a great choice on their part it won't affect my gameplan.
They removed one of Rose's Midnight Bliss forms from Capcom Fighting Evolution because it was a character that Capcom doesn't own the copyright for.
I'm excited. Fightcade is fine for some things but it's fucked a random BR huehue can join to spectate when you're playing with a bud and entirely fuck your connection up.
Also looking forward to 3 Upper with the input delay hopefully fixed and better training mode support. Also I believe you can't do non-ratio or singles in CvS2 on fightcade, or if there is a way it's not easily apparent to me.
Likely because Upper runs on NAOMI hardware instead of CPS2 for some reason so they waited until they had good NAOMI emulation with rollback. Regardless, same, gonna be nice to play a version of A3 with V-ism & Dhalsim nerfed and good online (since Flycast is iffy, that's the main reason this collection feels more worthwhile than most fighter collections).

CvS2 is EO enabled (choice to have that on or not) no reason to NOT have it on if you're a casual.
Its the Naomi/Dreamcast version which is the best one

I always liked the style of SVC Chaos more than the CVS games, honestly. CVS2 does blow SVC out of the water gameplay-wise, but SVC just looks so fucking cool
That's MAX on PSP where they just dumped extra sprites they had sitting around; Ingrid, Eagle, Maki & Yun are exclusive to that version. Upper adds Guile, Hawk, Deejay, Fei Long, who are all new sprites and tosses Evil Ryu back in.

I played Tech Romancer's single player after realizing it wasn't in the collection and man it's cool. To be blunt it's pretty fucking basic mechanically but the presentation is incredible, some of the best low-poly you'll find and a pretty great variety of mechs both visually and gameplay-wise despite the simple systems.

Presumably it would have impacted the rating. Although there is nudity that they did let slide in both Vampire Savior and Red Earth, I suppose this one is a bit too suggestive because it's two nude characters embracing.

Probably would've jacked up the entire collection's age rating, at least CERO if not western ones, since CERO is way more strict about that kind of thing in the past decade than they were before and a high age rating will kill sales, so removing a minor ending screen you can only rarely get was worth keeping it lower. This is the real reason Mai doesn't show up on the KOF stage in Smash too; CERO would've jacked up Ultimate's age rating as a whole if she was there so she wasn't. None of the games in this collection have nudity on that level, and so nothing was removed. People thought Midnight Bliss was going to get gutted but it was just the Enya one for Rose since at the time Capcom still had the JoJo game license.

Outside of BASED Blodia I ended up beating the game with the secret version of Dixen. I like Blodia just being the default mech for anything Capcom does in the genre, which that kept up even though they don't make a lot of them.
Modern Capcom collections are mostly bought by people learning about classic games for the first time, particularly the Mega Man ones. They try to fully feature them for the hardcores for good word of mouth but they wouldn't be making as many as they are if the hardcores were the only people buying (and even then, many of those hardcores will stick to emulation/Fightcade).
Does that really matter? I and I think most people just bought whatever they wanted even when we were younger.

They ran a Project Justice tournament yesterday for EVO Japan and it looked like absolute unbalanced shit.
Day one purchase.
Project Justice is the only fighting game where I actually like how the best girl on the roster plays more than anybody else mechanically so I will savor a small resurgence.

It's really nice. All the art you could want (I think pretty much every piece of official art these games/characters had is in there), high-quality paper/printing/binding, TONS of concepts, some info about the games and development sprinkled in there. It's the first time I've splurged on an artbook and I don't regret it. The poster and deck of info cards are nice too.

Not buying the "they did it because of CERO excuse". They should go ahead and say it if that was the case. Capcom doesn't exactly have a good track record when it comes to censorship and westoid influence in general.
Also realistically, how long till this collection dies? All of the other ones died fast and the only game people would want to play online for a prolonged amount of time is CVS2, and apparently it's not even the version with roll canceling so people are pissed.
The lack of crossplay in these re-releases from Capcom and SNK is killing me. The only reason why anyone would ever bother with these releases instead of just going on MAME/Fightcade would be to play with friends on console, but no, we can't have that.

Roll canceling is in the collection, but turned off in Ranked. It should be a toggle as in having Ranked for with & without RCs.
