Never had to
What is that OP?
I personally use Nada 65 from Cerakey, cheaper than buying the ceramic keys and putting them on another board.
Love me some ceramic.
Nah sorry, I’ll just stick to using the arrow keys
I've had this for like 20 years
I used to play FPS with my hands crossed. Left hand on the arrows, right hand on < and > to strafe.
Grim
When I was young I played first person games on a shitty tiny laptop with the trackpad.
With the weird ass way I was twisting my wrists to play I’m pretty sure I started giving myself early carpal tunnel.
Psychopath
Imagine using anything other than a pad for movement. Your brain is wired to use your feet.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who did this shit. I still do this out of habit in some games where I can't rebind the controls
I use a Red Dragon, it suites my needs, simple as.
im a fat amerishart and my nubs of fingers cant precisely hit the key i need to
OP is talking about using ESDF instead of WASD, not about your keyboard
I remember binding numpad to a bunch of World of Warcraft abilities. I refused to accept WASD was superior.
wasd is more pleasant on my keyboard
same, I want to buy a keychron q0 and then program it to switch between being a num pad and macro pad by making the numbers F13, F14, F15, etc. but the cerakey colors I want are sold out
I don't remember why I did it, though. Looking at the keyboard now, it would make much more sense not to cross my hands. But I don't know, I guess I must have had some reason for doing it. I used to play Heretic that way.
I just couldn't get used to using arrow keys with my right hand was my issue.
not UHKM
ngmi
looks comfy
Look, I found a historical record of people playing old FPS with their hands crossed.
that keyboard is absolutely hideous
I got water all inside my g810 years ago but it still works, save for some wonky keys. I don’t know what to buy desu.
I'm planning to buy a low profile keyboard in the future. Wanna see how they are desu
No, keys should be as close to square as possible and I demand an explanation as to why the Z key is there.
proper backlit keys are nice. most keyboards just have shitty LED lighting around the keys which actually makes it harder to see what the text printed on the key is in the dark. plus they tend to use some god awful font for some reason.
not that I care either way since I touch type anyways
I just swapped from a mechanical keyboard with backlight to the amazon basics keyboard. I'm never spending more than 15$ on a keyboard again.
you have to use the arrows keys to move
cause... cause... they got arrows on them
this is how americans played video games before europeans discovered counter strike
in what scenario would you need to see whats on the key? do you use your eyes to type?
Anon Babble is so contrarian and backwards they use membrane keyboards
I own a chink $30 hall effect keyboard for gaming, and it's perfect.
I don't need a loud ass clickity clack keyboard with twice the vertical travel distance for the keys, zero benefits to mechanical keyboards
i am willfully ignorant
ok
have one of those meme laser keys from corsair
I got myself a Wooting 80HE at the beginning of this year after using a mechanical Logitech keyboard for 5-6 years. It's incredibly nice to use. Also, ESDF is cringe.
most people using keyboards do. I still need to see f keys or find the print screen sometimes
numpad has always been superior
Poorfag here, what's so good about keyboards that cost 10x as much and have half the keys
Can any keyboardfags ITT explain to me why some people like the *click* sound that some keyboard switches make?
oh well I started using rdfg when bf bad company 2 came out
If you're playing a competitive game that requires quick input, mechanical keyboards have an edge over membrane keyboards. They also feel better to type on. If you like the clicky clacky sound that's nice too.
i like the crispy quick action when a key is pressed
can press multiple keys at once in a quick succession without getting any delay, double or triple responses or strokes not being registered
plus i actually use macro keys and the extra stuff like volume wheels, quick mutes etc. are nice too
and i can hook my phone and recharge
Mental retardation. Tactiles are good, clicky tactiles are simply retarded.
I've been using the same keyboard for 20 years. Why is it contrarian to not change what isn't broken? I've used a mechanical keyboard too. It's loud. I had to disable LEDs. The volume knob was nice, but my old keyboard has media keys too. That mechanical keyboard ended up doubling up random key presses after 6 months. No issues with my membrane.
oh numpadlets are braindead
no quicker way for quick maffs than with a numpad
I did, I even tried RAGE for a while but it was too annoying to rebind every key in every game, so I just use the default now
And linears are the best.
For gaming? Yes.
For typing? Fuck no.
if you want less buttons why dont you just use a controller
i had a friend who played cs 1.6 using the arrow keys
