Verso
Verso
Some of the character relationship moments hit really close to home. Gustav's burial and Renoir's final dialogue. Teared up a few times.
Just make a thread on Reddit.
Verso comforting Maelle after he removes her from the painting fucking broke my heart. Such good voice acting
Gustave or Verso.
Verso.
Yes, the ending got me.
someone remake this with the text in French
Why did he hate living?
what other artist factions do you think are out there?
the painters
the writers
the sculptors
the actors
the game developers
Renoir
Maelle first but then I did her sidequest and realized she’s an evil bitch so I picked Verso afterwards
No but I’ve never cried playing a video game of watching a movie so that’s not a knock against the game.
So can anyone paint worlds into a Canvas in this world or only Maelles family?
there's a "council of painters" that i think Aline or Renoir mentions, so not only them
too late anon, now we must discuss the latest rollslop asset flip cashgrab
He's bitch made. Glad he's forced to play the piano and dance like a monkey for all the characters that matter.
that scene where Maelle erases PAlicia
she just stands over a grieving and heartbroken Verso with a smug nonchalant expression while he's in mourning
What was her problem?
ACT III difficulty on NG+ is a fucking nightmare
KINOMATIC
I still don't quite understand the mechanics by which maelle was gommaged at the end of Act 2 and then reappeared with all her memories in act 3.
Did the painted-over Maelle actually "die" like Lune and Sciele and the Act 3 Maelicia is actually Alicia getting fully in control again and deciding to "respawn" with Maelle's memoreis?
Good. I fucked up by overleveling on my first playthrough and basically one shot Renoir. It almost ruined the moment
You know what I don't get? Why do people who picked Maelle's ending keep saying her family doesn't care about her?
Renoir clearly cares.
E33 living dim-dim-dam-diddly rent free in your head
I hope that if they go for a sequel, it's a new family, maybe with another art form.
How Indian do you have to be to think this looks organic
We know Aline needed the chroma from gommage to keep herself in the painting but what was going to happen when the number hit 0? Was the canvas going to be destroyed regardless or would she have just been ejected?
Renoir would get in control and destroy the canvas. He was painted over as The Curator
Just played that part again and it still confuses me. I see it as she got unplugged from the matrix by Real Renoir and re-plugged back in by Clea during the epilogue
By the end I just want everyone to fucking die, I thought they were very selfish and extremist. Then I thought they think in white and bla... Claire oscure. God damn it.
did literally nothing wrong
my way or the highway
made things worse by being unwilling to compromise
I don't think that's as optimal as you think it is. Just like I don't see how his plan would have had a good end if Alicia didn't come in to mix things up.
Do you really believe Aline would have just reunited with her husband after watching him kill her pets for 100 years?
I only click on e33 threads to watch the schizo angrily gaslight himself into insisting the game was a flop. He's so disconnected from reality that I have near 100% certainty he will become trans within the next year or two.
I can sympathize with that. I was just grocery shopping and all the retards blocking the aisle all by themselves wouldn't just kill themselves for me, even though their existence annoys me. Selfish cunts.
Is he the best example of fatherhood in modern games?
Only logical thinker is a sea full of emotional women
Does what needs to be done to protect his family
Even his painted version is trying to save his fake family
Cause he knows his wife and daughter are weak minded and will never willingly leave the painting. In the ending he just lets himself believe Alicias lie because he's tired of fighting, has already expelled Aline, and realizes Alicias life in the real world is worse off than in the painting
watching him kill her pets
Try playing the game. That Renoir is a painted version of her husband that SHE made to protect herself on the monolith. The real Renoir was The Curator
nooo why did you do the thing that I was about to do
Poor Verso. Enjoyed betraying painted Alicia for so long, but didn't get to be the one who twists the knife for the final time.
Sometimes I think the Saudis have it right by not allowing women to leave the house because it's always women who do shit like that
what if i root through my purse for 15 mins while standing directly in front of the door?
other people? what are those?
What if the game developers are the wr*ters?
he is just like me
Did any of you kill Simon "legitimately" I already had problems because of the stendahl nerf and I couldn't one shot him. I wanted to do him legit at first without giga crits from Maelle but the third phase where he deleted my main party convinced me otherwise
My favourite part about it is the effective immediate suicide of Painted Renoir as soon as Renoir shows up.
Not because P.Renoir is giving up.
But because he understands Renoir extremely well.
And he -knows- Renoir's passion to save his family, because his is the same.
So he knows he cannot stop him.
He doesn't even try.
Painters, Writers, Sculptors, Actors - they all fight each other but each one is beholden to a higher power. Their patrons. The Gooners.
No. I'll do it legit when I do ng+
Tbh I didn't even have Stendhal equipped until I heard about the nerf then I equipped it solely out of spite because balance patches for single player games piss me off on principle.
I liked that Renoir followed in his footsteps
FUCK I meant
PVerso**
I just realized he could probably still be oneshotted in second phase. I completely forgot you can just go in solo Maelle for even more damage boosts from luminas. I just used Sciel to make Maelle go 4 times in a row lmao
Yes except I didn't know anything about the fight, so I ended up stunning him with Monoco's limit break 3 once I'd charged it, which meant he did the painting vanish at 10%ish hp rather than 50%ish.
I honestly don't know why people consider Simon so hard. He's genuinely pretty readable, and parryable on the first attempt. He only really caught me with that one backspin he does delaying the pattern.
Once you get to the after-image and the second after-image attacks, you can nearly spam the key for effective parrying.
Renoir's fight (especially Painted Love) is far harder, he's impossible to read first try.
I missed Simon but my Maelle build never used Stendahl
Add all the burn buff luminas
Use cheater
Use medalum
Rain Of Fire first, then Swift Stride
Buff with Sciel
Use Burning Canvas to shred health and Swift Stride to go back into Virtuose Stance
Repeat till dead
Burning Canvas applies burn too so you can chain this forever. I would always do more damage total than with Stendahl
He's unironically harder than ANY Elden Ring boss
looks like the marketing jeet blitz money ran out on this Korean game and only the gullible retards are left praising it in threads, truly pathetic and sad when you witness it
Maelle
Lune
Sciel
Stack burns to the heavens.
By that time Aline would be so weakened that Renoir ought to be able to either break free from the bottom of the monolith or Clea could hop back in and do it.
Nah, the epilogue happens at Expedition 49, where Clea tells Alicia to bring back their father to help against the Writers. Alicia goes into the canvas but is caught up in Aline's chroma and is birthed as Maelle to the two nameless adults we see right after the epilogue. The Gommage at Act 2 basically woke Alicia but with Maelle's memories.
So we just ignore the discord shitposters right? What's their endgame anyways?
I suspect it's 3rd world poors who can't afford or run the game. Them being 3rd worlders would also explain how they're too low iq to pirate.
They shitpost everything
Notably ER was spammed with shitposters for years and was a blantive discord raid
im tired of this meme hitler
I've seen both endings and there really are no right answers.
Option 1 is to stay in the painting, an elaborate dollhouse now that she has painter powers. All the while her real family has to see her wither away and trapping an incarnation of her brother who just wants it to end.
Option 2 destroys the canvas, which is what Verso wants and since he's a facsimile of real Verso he has the right to decide what happens to his canvas. Now Maelle has to face the hardships of reality.
what's the meaning of the dessendre family having paint around their eyes?
Thats Chroma that only appears when theyre in a painting
There is a right answer. Whatever makes Verso miserable is objectively correct.
Just beat it but i dont get a lot of things.
We are supossed to believe that when Aline paints a number Renoir kills people? It makes no sense.
How did the writers trick Alicia to burn the house?
Is Maelle face really fading or its just Verso imagination?
Why they say they have been there for 100 years?
Plot holes everywhere
Almost cried but didnt
At the gommage at the start
When Gustave dies
At both endings
Didnt get emotional with a game since FFX and i dont know why i did it with that game
Maelicia leaves and with Renoir and Clea expose Aline's fuck up to the painter's council to get her demoted while she's in convalescence, give the canvas to the council so that they can control it, then from there arange it so that Aline and Maelle are occasionaly allowed by the council to enter the painting for short period of times (hours IRL, days/weeks inside canvas), after a few years IRL everybody who's mortal in the painting will die and the canvas can be erased.
No, Renoir is always trying to erase everyone. Aline protects them with her chroma but she'a steadily running out of chroma due to the Nevrons. She paints the number as a warning basically saying "i can't protect you anymore, here's your time left make the most of it."
Aline needs the chroma from the gommage to give her strength to trap the real Renoir in the monolith
Not sure how the writer situation happened, I think its implied Alicia let her guard down and trusted them which the writers used to burn down their house
Time moves differently in the painting, those 100 years are like a few months IRL
He had one massive fuckup and that's gommaging everyone before telling Alicia to GTFO.
Play the game this time and maybe stay off tiktok during cutscenes or try not being retarded
Anyone played it on deck?
Like the other anon said, she was relishing in a little light revenge.
How does it feel, you piece of shit?
Is what her expression conveyed.
How can painters beat writers?
haha nice try paintcuck but I just wrote that your wife is sucking my cock
The Bogs
That's a solution, but not what happens in the game.
The dancing Israelis.
Why didn't he just sell the canvas after everyone got booted into reality. Is he stupid?
Painters vs Writers vs Sculptors vs Actors vs Musicians.
Whoever wins, we goon
Is there a plot summary where everything is explained in detail?
Maelica was only.outside the canvas for like 10 mins irl time.
Yeah, it's called Expedition 33.
Currently pondering what Verso's life and perspective was pre-cataclysm. Did Aline's painted family know they were painted when they were created? Were they created at their current ages, or was it more like Maelle? Does painted Verso remember having a childhood?
Since none of the other Lumine residents are aware of their painted existence, i'm going to guess painted Verso and co did not know, and probably found out when real Renoir showed up, or possibly from real Clea. Fun to imagine the drama of how the whole Aline -> Paintress transition went down.
I would shit myself if this thing came anywhere near me
Did you pay any attention to the game at all? Almost everything you are wondering about was explicitly discussed in game.
What do these people even to do for living? Do they sell the canvas to other people? Can normies even go into the canvas? Do they make amusement park canvas and sell admission tickets? Why did writers even try to burn their house down? Are canvas really so much better than their own art? Are they magical writers or did a completely mundane writer's guild of Paris decide that magical paintings are making it harder to sell literature to people?
Considering only 5% of hitters beat it. I dont think a single real person in this thread can stupid retard OP 33rd shill
go to your general already
25% of people on Steam had beaten the game. There are over 70k reviews on Steam. Even if we assume that nobody on other platforms had finished the game and everyone who played the game left a review then at least 17.5k people had finished the game.
There can only be ONE little sister in town.
noooo dont talk about video games on the video game board
Whats wrong with you
I want you to know that's I'm enjoying how miserable this game is making you.
I fucked up and didn't do it until ng+ so I got my shit pushed in a dozen times with no hope of dodging his second phase not-fucking-around sword. I installed a mod that restored pre-nerf stendahl. I feel bad.
Don't feel bad. Balance patches for single player game are peak niggerdom and should be illegal.
Verso was right all along
Yeah every question you asked gets answered in-game by the start of Act 3. You have a learning disability.
You have a learning disability.
It's called being a zoomer, aka not white.
Chefs.
What does NG+ change?
the chefs when i tell them i want to order a light meal 15 minutes before closing time
I would pay for a DLC rock that gives Esquie heat seeking missiles.
Open up menu
YOU are on the menu!
Act 3 Maelle is a different character. She was here the whole time but she didn't break free until original Maelle dies.
Mostly just damage/health
The base game is piss easy once you hit like 60+ so it provides an actual challenge
What a cunt.
GOOD MORNIN SAAARS BUY ELDEN RING SAAAAAARS BETTER GAME SAAAAR
I need a little table that lists the real and painted versions of the characters and what their motivations are. I understand real renoir and clea, but painted renoir ganks everyone he sees and says he's doing them a kindness. Also don't get the painted alicia body snatching maelle. I paid attention to the story but I'm pretty sure I'm retarded and can't follow anything more complex than scooby doo
Any enemy can one shot you if you're not careful to parry or dodge and most enemies are damage sponges
the architects, we learn that renoir was actually one of them before meeting aline
But enemies can oneshot you in the regular game.
the jannies
I understand real renoir and clea
Considering the rest of your post, I doubt even that. This shit ain't that complicated, you might genuinely be retarded
Kind of wish FFXIV hadn't released a patch, since they clearly don't want to produce content for that game anymore anyway. Instead of E33 ng+ I'm wasting my time grinding FATEs for pieces of jolly ranchers with inexcusibly low drop rates.
Is this even legal, he is exactly the same
Voiced by Gollum no less
I just said that, fucker. I know Renoir and clea want to starve aline of chroma, but is painted renoir in on that plan?
What was the deal with that final area Maelle and Verso fight in? Why was that faceless boy finger painting? I must've missed something
Aline enters Versos canvas to help her grieve his death
Aline creates painted family to pretend like everyone is alive and everything is alright
Renoir comes in and tries to take Aline out because she's not coping healthily
They fight and cause the fracture
Aline uses immense chroma to trap Renoir in the monolith
Aline uses the gommage to take it from the painted humans
Clea enters the painting to try and stop Aline and save Renoir
Clea cant so she creates Nevrons to trap chroma in the humans so Aline cant use it
Aline gets painted family to kill the humans before they can be killed by Nevrons so she can absorb the chroma
Renoir traps enormous amount of chroma in Axons so they cant be stolen by Aline
Clea gets ejected from the painting and Alicia enters
Who was your favorite character?
Sciel was kinda based tbqh but Verso is best
Which ending did you pick?
The only rational one
Did you ever cry?
Yup. At every part I'm sure the devs intended for me to. Most intensely in the prologue and then equally badly at the very very end with a few smaller breaks during emotional peaks like Gustave's death or the return to Lumiere.
Why was that faceless boy finger painting?
Think that was the last piece of real Verso's soul so once he dies the canvas can be destroyed
Did they ever explain why Lune doesn't wear shoes?
Correct. That's the tiny fragment of Verso's soul trapped in the painting. They don't explain it [as in how it became trapped there or why] but I just assumed it's either the idea that any truly heartfelt art is imbued with a bit of your soul OR that the special painting powers they use require you to utilize your soul as a catalyst. Renoir does mention that every single hour spent inside a painting has a price/cost
Chroma tattoos on her limbs allow her to use elemental attacks without using a weapon as a conduit.
Something something Chroma efficiency.
So painted renoir is just a puppet murdering every expedition that shows up to gather chroma for aline? Why are there nevrons on the beach fucking up 33 too though?
She can fly and doesn't need to. Literally that simple.
This. She's gifted with chroma sensitivity and channels it freely to fly.
Do we all agree the game has incredible pacing for an RPG?
Renoir
Verso
Got teary eyes during the ending + credits
yep, i would play a lot more RPGs if they were more like this this
i wasnt able to screeshot it but during the part where you're playing as alicia, if you look closely at verso's painting in the atelier, you could slightly see what looks like maelle or alicia in the canvas albeit distorted
absolute cinema
forced jeet meme.
Also shill thread
every thread has someone claiming it's made by jeets, you can't all be right
Because Clea also wants the wipe out as many creations as possible so that the chroma can be concentrated away from Aline.
Yes though I think Act 3 could've used a little better fleshing out. I figured there was no way it would just be
Get strong and go face the final boss
So when returning to Lumiere was obvious final boss energy, I was quite annoyed. Just one more little time wasting maguffin grabbing quest or something woulda been nice. Act 3 is kinda gay because of that.
So it's painted renoir and nevrons on the beach farming kills like hungry hungry hippos but for different reasons then.
Act 3 felt kind of weird first time around since it felt like side quest central
Who was your favorite character?
Alicia>Esquie>Gustave>Lune>the rest
Which ending did you pick?
Maelle
Did you ever cry?
Yes. I won't elaborate at which part.
bros would this work against clea?
So it's painted renoir and nevrons on the beach farming kills like hungry hungry hippos but for different reasons then.
Yes. They really went to the worst possible spot.
I didn't even get any fucking sidequests because after not getting any new events at Camp the first night, I fuckin' stopped going to Camp since they folded all the party management functions into the flag savespots. I literally just cleared a couple optional bosses and dungeons, got annoyed, went to lumiere and smooshed Renoir at like... level 60. I come to Anon Babble later and everybody referencing shit that happens in the social links that I couldn't even fucking trigger.
Act 3 fuckin' sucks. Could've been goated and sort of done a little soft BotW thing
GO ANYWHERE! KILL THE FINAL BOSS WHEN YOU'RE READY!
But because it's COMPLETELY unstructured... Really let me down tbqh
Simon all you have to do is just ask her out.
By the way I know I can do that shit in post-game but my interest is fuckin' gone now.
I'm not going to play another vidya this good for a while, huh bros?
Yes. They really went to the worst possible spot.
Go fuck a cactus.
You can tell someone is a midwit if they pick the Maelle ending in the first playthrough
Until Act 3, yes. Both from a narrative perspective and for difficulty balance, it should 100% railroad the shit out of you into the final boss instead of doing any side content.
or alternatively, the final boss area should scale with you in some way.
She’s like Toph from Avatar the Last Airbender
I don't talk to fictional beings nor do I concern myself with their feelings.
What was her deal during all of this? What emotion is this meant to convey?
She was the one who picked that landing spot in the first place.
And brainlets if they pick Verso's.
i've just ran into this guy and i'm getting completely and utterly filtered by his second phase. You're telling me there's a third one?
She's expressing absolute disdain and hatred. She's SEEEEEEEEEEETHING beyond seething. Verso lied AGAIN and betrayed them AGAIN and now she knows enough to grasp that there won't be a do-over and her universe is about to end for real. That's the stare you'd give to god if he admitted to your face that your life is poinltess and your universe is doomed.
You basically need to prevent third phase by stunning him and beating him in a couple turns in phase 2. (if you can't oneshot him)
She learned the mysteries of the universe, she just didn't like the answer.
Because his creator made him as a replacement for her dead son with how she remembered him as his personality, put fake memories and feelings into him, made him immortal, and his world that used to be full of life and people he knew has been completely destroyed by an old couple that is from the real world, a world that is full of real people and full of real life which could destroy him and his world at any moment.
Verso's ending essentially lulls you into thinking you are making the right and "moral" choice, up until you give it some thought and realize that it doesn't solve anything.
he betrayed her, she forgave him, tried to trust him again and even let him smash, then he betrayed her again
tldr: couldn't resist bwc and she hated him and herself for it
This
Mindset is to try to understand WHY they even need to kill the paintress or how she does what she does so they can kill her better
Ends up finding out she's fake and can be turned off and on again like a robot and her universe is a childhood doodle made by a dead boy
Ends up betrayed by a pretender god repeatedly
It solves literally everything. The entire family is restored and now they can face ACTUAL problems in real life like the people who burned their house down and killed Verso.
Maelle's ending is a complete faggot cope and there's literally no debating it. You torture fakeVerso and kill a young girl. In Verso's ending.... Some fake people stop experiencing life. It's not a big deal.
Kojima*
The Prompters
It solves literally everything.
You are extremaly naive if you think destroying the canvas will magically fix Alicia's trauma and pain of being a cripple, Aline's resentment towards Renoir and Alicia or Clea's being a warmongering retard. There is VERY miniscule chance that things might get better for the Dessendre family, and you had to sacrifice the entire sentient world and force a young girl to live a life she abhors to get there.
pictos are replaced with image gen prompts
1girl, school uniform, smile
You are extremaly naive if you think destroying the canvas will magically fix Alicia's trauma and pain of being a cripple
The other choice is suicide. As Verso said: She can make a painting and enter it and feel normal any time she wants. She just needs to stop using Verso's "corpse" as her escape.
Aline's resentment towards Renoir
The resentment is gone. The end cutscene shows it quite clearly, they're deeply afffectionate and loving.
Clea's being a warmongering retard.
Anon, there's clearly a war of some kind. Clea is simply the only one emotionally grounded enough to keep her eyes on the prize. The Writers need to pay.
There is VERY miniscule chance that things might get better for the Dessendre family
They're united, no more of them died and now they can face the threat of the Writers as a united front.
tl;dr you're a pseud and a retard.
Not reading the thread, because I'm almost done with Act III exploration and only then I'll see the ending.
But I was wondering how many of you forgot about this. When you first entered Gestral Village, you probably talked to all NPCs and one of them (in the bazaar) told you he's collecting journals. I completely forgot about this and only talked to him now, accidentally, getting 100 lumina for collecting most journals. This ends the quest.
Pic unrelated, but it's also nice that they changed the monolith in every location where it's visible.
I can't be arsed to go back there but I thought you might also get something for beating all chromatic nevrons from that one guy
As Verso said: She can make a painting and enter it and feel normal any time she wants
Motherfucker, what does that solve? For all this nonsense about "you must face the real life, Alicia" his advice is literally to just escape to some different painting, that will most likely end up in a suicide anyway? He could've just admitted he has no rebuttal for Alicia's points instead of coming up with this bullshit advice.
Destroying the Canvas gives the characters a chance at least for them to move on with their grief. The entire theme of the game is dealing with grief. If you need several other anons on a basket-weaving board to tell you that, you may have a learning disability.
Motherfucker, what does that solve?
She can live as a non-cripple in the painting. Any time she can just go take a week off and run around a fantasy world she fully controls and created.
For all this nonsense about "you must face the real life, Alicia" his advice is literally to just escape to some different painting
Escape is nice. She has good reasons to want it. Doing it to the point of killing yourself and while trapping the soul of your brother in limbo ain't it.
that will most likely end up in a suicide anyway?
No, because other paintings won't be her only direct tie to her brother she got killed. Without it being her only way to experience her brother's presence, there's no risk of staying too long.
It's fucking insane. They don't realize it's not that the painting is so nice it's that the Aline and Alicia aren't coping with losing Verso and have used this final fragment of him as a suicidal copecage.
The entire theme of the game is dealing with grief
Ok, but Alicia's problems don't begin and end with grief. Am I supposed to ignore the fact that she's a cripple for life because it doesn't fit the theme?
there's no risk of staying too long.
There is still a risk of staying too long, because she gets to live in a world when she's NOT IN PAIN 24/7. Not everything in Alicia's world revolves around Verso.
She can choose to stop being crippled by taking breaks inside paintings. The whole "not being crippled anymore" is a PAINTING thing. Not a VERSO'S CANVAS thing.
I did forget about that, thanks.
bros i'm absolutely obsessed with this song
She can choose to stop being crippled by taking breaks inside paintings.
Uh-huh. Sure. And she would want to return to real life why exactly? Because her entire argument was from the start "I don't want to return to the life in which I am a cripple". She says that to both Verso and Renoir several times over.
Wise old man thinks logically and wants his family to move on from tragedy in a healthy manner. "It's easier for you if I'm the villain"
Headstrong teenage girl-boss thinks she knows better and won't lose herself like her mother did
Instead of the usual conclusion where female girl-boss can do no wrong and old man is wrong as always, the old man is right and the teenage girl IS going to end up doing the same thing
Refreshingly based for a western game for once.
There is still a risk of staying too long, because she gets to live in a world when she's NOT IN PAIN 24/7.
Wrong. If you don't want to die, you have to leave.
Not everything in Alicia's world revolves around Verso.
It kind of does though. He sacrificed himself to save her and died and the ENTIRE THING was her fault because she fucked up in a way that allowed the Writers to burn the mansion. Other paintings will be pain relief and escapism but not a copium huffing session where she can pretend she never fucked up and verso never died.
And she would want to return to real life why exactly?
To not die. Retard. The grief was the thing making dying an acceptable cost to remain in the opiate blur of Verso's fakeass presence.
Because her entire argument was from the start "I don't want to return to the life in which I am a cripple"
No, that's cope. She wants Verso and is fucked up about it.
You have the emotional maturity of 16 year old girl and that's why you can't understand why you're wrong. A great demonstration of the excellent writing in the story tbqh.
If you don't want to die, you have to leave.
...but Alicia does want to die in the real world. This comes with the territory of "I don't want to live this life as a cripple". It's like telling a guy about to commit suicide "don't jump, you'll kill yourself". No shit, genius.
She wants Verso and is fucked up about it.
No, her arguments don't begin and end with Verso. You are just latching onto that one it's the easiest one to dismiss.
What did he lie about? How did he know Renoir would open a portal to Verso's soul and canvas?
yo i need this to beat clea. what guy is it?
...but Alicia does want to die in the real world
She doesn't in Verso's ending. She accepts the grief and lets go. We watch it happen. Sorry retard, you're a midwit pseud.
"I don't want to live this life as a cripple"
Too bad. She's a cripple now. She has to accept it and does in Verso's ending.
You want a girl to commit suicide while torturing the final fragment of her brother's soul. It's as simple as that.
He openly signed onto the plan to seize the chroma and repaint the world.
Lune and Verso never fuck. He doesn't want to hurt Sciel. She implies she wanted his BPC (big painted cock) and he reciprocated the feeling
This is why Renoir basically goes for the kill immediately as soon as he sees them. He is in a race to eliminate the expeditioners before the Nevrons on the beach can kill them and seal off their chroma
You're a midwit if you don't see Verso's ending as the best outcome. The final scene is literally his family coming together to grieve Verso as a family. The healthiest way possible
He DID tell Sciel he would help bring her husband back
I think The Reacher should have been part of the main narrative in Act 3 instead of a side area
She accepts the grief and lets go.
You are naive if you think someone's trauma can be solved this easily. And the game is naive as well if it thinks this is how it works.
All I saw was a sad girl standing alone over the grave of her brother, because her family fucked off to do their thing.
Too bad. She's a cripple now. She has to accept it and does in Verso's ending.
So, Alicia has to accept her shitty life as a cripple that Verso forces onto her, but Verso can't be bothered to accept the nice life Alicia gives him? I smell double standard.
One of the gestrals in the Bazaar where merchants are. Just talk to everyone, there's not that many of them.
Alicia is still a cripple and she still hates her life.
But I guess I am happy that Renoir and Aline can move on. You know, two biggest shitheads in the game.
balance patches for single player games piss me off on principle.
Grow up or install cheat engine, but stop being such a whiny baby about perfectly justified changes.
Oh, if you're talking about the nevron guy, then no idea. I vaguely remember someone mention them, but that's all. Plus, I think there's a chromatic in Lumiere and I haven't been there yet, so I'm missing at least one of them.
You are naive if you think someone's trauma can be solved this easily.
Suicide isn't the answer and you're openly rejecting the storytelling beats. She had a calm and smiling face of acceptance at the end as she watched the expedition fade.
All I saw was a sad girl standing alone over the grave of her brother, because her family fucked off to do their thing.
Yeah, you're a fucking retard, I know. I've said it a lot.
So, Alicia has to accept her shitty life as a cripple that Verso forces onto her,
Yeah, suicide isn't ok. Verso wouldn't want his great sacrifice to amount to her just suiciding a month later.
Verso can't be bothered to accept the nice life Alicia gives him?
It's not a nice life and he doesn't want it. It's a suicide.
Anybody who thinks Maelle's end is better, is a retard avodicating for a child to kill herself. There's no getting around it.
...so your point is - suicide is bad, unless it's Verso doing it, then it's fine?
Verso is already dead. A fake version forced to have his memories that isn't even a real human is all there is and he's carrying out the will of real Verso by saving Maelle a second time.
i stopped playing after verso's ending and finisingh maelle's party quest, and i don't know where to go now, everyone is beating my ass and i feel like just dropping it completly
what the fuck do i do now
It's a bit bewildering how people are able to completely glance over all the life in the canvas when they make a comparison of the endings.
Must be how military aged men during times of war feel.
Has he, dunno, tried living his own life for once? Even Maelle recognizes him as his own separate being.
after a few years IRL everybody who's mortal in the painting will die and the canvas can be erased.
They reproduce - it's one of the few things that differentiates them from people on earth. Also I wonder if the time dilation is still active when you're outside of the painting. Would be weird when 100 years pass between visits of child Clea and Verso.
It's when they use their powers.
Has he, dunno, tried living his own life for once?
He can't. He's a fake made by a greiving mother in a fit of PEAK cope.
Even Maelle recognizes him as his own separate being.
That doesn't change what was forced on him. He can't change what he knows and thinks. He's Verso for better or worse and Verso has already demonstrated a complete lack of hesitation when presented with the option to die to save his sister.
Painted Verso proves he's just about as good as the real thing by copying Real Verso and dying to save his sister.
Is Maelle /ourgirl/? Or is Verso /ourguy/?
It's a bit bewildering how people are able to completely glance over all the life in the canvas
They have to glance over it, otherwise it makes Verso look like a total asshole, and we can't have that.
Plot holes everywhere
You're stupid, friend.
It's not real. It's a magical illusion with no consequences or weight. A painter using thier powers can exert literal omnipotent control over them. They're charming and soulful and extremely pleasant but they're not real. Just like video games.
When Gustave dies
That one didn't get me at all, because I was just kinda not believing it. His funeral on the other hand was pretty powerful for me.
by copying Real Verso and dying to save his sister.
...but she doesn't want this life. Also, drop the moral posturing, he's doing this primarily for himself. He couldn't even be bothered to ask Lune if she's willing to take a bullet for the team, he just decided to for everyone what's best for them.
I always knew I didn't belong in this world. I wasn't made for it...
The names are for friends, so i don't need one...
Why would you ruin the game for yourself like that? Also there is a lot that's open to interpretation unless you're me, then you know what's right and wrong
Renoir
a shithead
when he was the only one willing to make the hardest choice possible to save what is left of his family
Renoir is the hero.
...but she doesn't want this life
She accepts it and lives happily in his ending so... You're objectively wrong lol
He couldn't even be bothered to ask Lune if she's willing to take a bullet for the team, he just decided to for everyone what's best for them.
Because he knows they aren't real. Only Alicia is, everybody else who was real is gone. Remember: He has Verso's memories. So he knows for a FACT what a painted world it and how little it matters.
She knew he let Gustav die
I picked verso's ending the first time, but I can totally understand Maelle, because I too think I can only have the life I want in a fantasy. And plus, she's not evil, she's just trying to fix what's broken, with no avail, just like me.
Congrats, you are a well-adjusted human being who copes with grief in a normal way, despite the fact that you are here.
Fuckers should ad an endtime for orders when they don't want to work.
why did people laugh at oblivion remake sprint animation when gustav has the same sprint kek
Lune
Verso's first
painted renoir ganks everyone he sees and says he's doing them a kindness.
They are trying to kill the paintress. Killing the paintress kills them. He's preventing them from killing themselves. He is also preventing them from getting killed by Nevrons which would again weaken the paintress.
The game is worth a 2nd playthrough.
This HAS to win best soundtrack at the VGAs right? This already beautiful and heart crushing game is elevated to the highest kino levels possible because of that based Frenchies soundtrack
Renoir is an idiot who escalated the conflict for no fucking reason, because he has an emotional intelligence of an amoeba.
but you don't GET it, he HAD to keep destroying toys of family members who are grieving and told him to go away, there was no OTHER choice.
talking to them? - fuck no, we don't have time for that
She doesn't know that until after. You only get the cutscene where he tells her the truth after this moment.
She accepts it and lives happily in his ending so... You're objectively wrong lol
Yeah, it's easy to make up your headcanon to prove your point.
Yes correct. They're commiting suicide. A real man steps in and does what must be done to save what can be saved. Verso knew this and so did Renoir.
You LITERALLY have the social and emotional temperament of a 16 year old girl.
Renoir does mention that every single hour spent inside a painting has a price/cost
Can't be that high, because Clea told Alicia to not worry too much, seeing how their parents spent a lot longer in a different canvas.
She suspected it though. That's why she reacts so calmly when he confesses.
Why do people get Painted Renoir and the actual Renoir mixed up? The real Renoir killed no one.
After you beat Simon, is there anything left to do?
why is this person about to be killed unhappy
Are you dumb?
So which is the better option, them committing suicide inside the painting or outside of it?
unlocking the lune sex scene
Why don't most JRPGs have stories this deep and personal? People here shit on FFXVI but it has a far deeper and more personal story than FF7slop
I took the Renoir pill the moment I learned the truth.
I cant remember I single song from this game heeeeeeeeeeelp
That sounds like you think that the paintress kills people by painting numbers.
So does this mean you didn't pick the Verso ending?
And the end result is that his daughter is so done with him, she doesn't want to return home. Even though she was doting for him few hours prior.
So, good job, shithead, you've objectively made things worse.
no u
No this is basic media literacy
She peacefully stands there with her family, clutching an old keepsake of Verso's and finally grieving his death properly
She lets go of her loved ones from Verso's Canvas as they smile and wave at her
This ending SCREAMS that she's going to go on to lead a healthy and happy life. You're a copelord who's addicted to illusions.
Sure, it's likely tolerable. I'm just saying they don't really explain why the Soul is there. Just that it is.
She isn't going to kill herself outside it. She's peaceful and has happy eyes in end.
You're an emotionally stunted child.
verso is selfish!
he's the only person to ask the fragment if it's tired of painting
She does though.
Can't Maelle use her powers to paint a new world where she can repaint all of her friends and companions from Verso's painting?
Verso's ending saves a real person's life so...
Well to be fair... The fragment is him. Looking out for a soul fragment of yourself can still be seen as selfish. But no, he's not selfish at all. He's the most selfless member of the family by far. He basically gave his life TWICE to save his sister.
Because she's a retard with an addiction who won't take a no for an answer.
And she didn't, she pretended she cared or that she'd agree and concede but deep down she never planned to, from the very moment they met.
The fragment is tired of all the fighting in his painting. If you wanted to be consistent with the soul thing you would have to burn down all creative works, because there is a piece of the artists soul in all of them.
Who knows if they are tired, this fragment in particular is and Alicia, despite saying she loves her brother, doesn't care, forces him to paint and enslaves the fake version she's deluded to think is the real deal.
Why do these threads always revolve around giving one baiting retard the time of the day as he spouts retarded shit about the greater good and whatever other regurgitation about Verso's ending they have come up of late?
Like what even is the point, people. You KNOW he is baiting.
Once I saw the little boy nod it's head that it wanted to stop painting, I knew what needed to be done. Verso was right. Renoir was right. Verso's soul can never be at rest until the canvas is gone for good. Aline and Alicia were selfish, Aline didn't want to let Verso go, and Alicia didn't want to go back to living in a broken body. Renoir is the only one who had other people's interest at heart.
All the people in the story are real people. Some created by painters others by the good Lord.
He's the most selfless member of the family by far.
He wants an entire world to end because he's sad and is willing to lie and deceive people to achieve it. Your sense of right and wrong is perverted to a point that shouldn't be possible.
and Alicia didn't want to go back to living in a broken body.
It's also the
I killed verso part
She admits it herself all she wants is a lifetime together
All the people in the story are real people
No. Real people done die and then get wished back into existence if you have pneuma and a memory.
He wants an entire world to end because he's sad and is willing to lie and deceive people to achieve it.
It's a fake world that doesn't matter. End of story lol. You're just caught up in the versimilitude.
I agree with renoir because his second phase powerup is basically the power of family love
renoir enters the family portrait
all stats boosted
that's how you know he cares.
She's peaceful and has happy eyes in end.
Yeah, that's why it ends with her standing alone while hallucinating that she is seeing Gustav and the others waving to her.
Not even going to lie. I cried
I thought that implied she was in a painting she created.
while hallucinating that she is seeing Gustav and the others waving to her.
yeah, nothing quite like saying goodbye to your past life and moving towards the future.
A bonafide happy end.
Yeah, that's why it ends with her standing alone while hallucinating that she is seeing Gustav and the others waving to her.
Anon, it's not a hallucination, it's a dramatic device.
You're retarded and there's no fix for it.
No it's just a slight variant of the classic cinematic device where they show a deceased person looking down on them from above.
Alicia didn't want to go back to living in a broken body
How is that selfish? Would you want to be chucked out of your dream world if it meant having to go back to a broken body where you are fucked up?
Both are horrible persons.
Verso wants to kill everyone cause hes a little emo
Maelle wants to sacrifice her entire real family, and wats to spend her entire life on heroin
If the alternative is death and I can just make a new painting and go into that one sometimes? Yes.
If it completely destroyed your family, then yes, it would be quite selfish.
Verso owns the canvas. It belongs to him. He gets to decide to end it if he wants
Why are you gay?
Maelle should've brought back Julie for Verso in her ending. Maybe it would've made Verso okay with her choice. Or if it wouldn't, Julie would be a constant reminder of that time Julie and her friends tortured Verso.
Her family made her live 16 years as another girl to use her as a tool of fake family drama war. I think they can just go fuck themselves.
Verso owns the canvas
No you retard. That verso was painted by mommy, he didnt had anything with the canvas
Alicia is the only human in the painting so the fake remnants of her brother have no say in the matter.
Welcome to missing the point of the game entirely, maybe your next playthrough will enlighten you.
I lost my legs in a car accident. Many times I am having dreams running etc. and when I wake up I am disappointed as fuck. But still I wouldn't want to spend my life hooked on drugs pretending everything is allright.
Maelle didn't know Julie, she cannot capture the essence of someone she did not know and Verso would never tell Maelle about her knowing that she would likely use that knowledge against him.
Bring back the bitch he betrayed and murdered in cold blood for his own goals
Maybe not
I didn't miss anything. You're an escapist who wants a young girl to kill herself after her brother died in agony to save her life. You value fiction over reality and are woefully naive and immature in your core.
Because if Painted Verso who lived 77 fucking years in that canvas wanted it to be erased, then the same verso who only lived 26 years would have wanted it. That is why Monoco and Esquie embrace him in their final moments without any resentment. They knew the real Verso and knew this is what he would have wanted.
Nothing can help verso because his life is a reminder his family is fucked and his little sister is suiciding.
painted with the same personality and memories
Congrats on being retarded I guess.
Monoco and Esquie are literally made to be loyal. They already express they don't want what Verso want but promised loyalty so they will follow through.
Don't be a disingenuous bitch.
having wants and desires that don't align with what your family wants means you're selfish. Just be a slave
Versofags have a really fucked up view of what family is.
Fav character
Lune her theme when you spend time with her hits home hard she's very stereotypical asian parents problems and reminds me of my current love irl. Seeing her become happy and freeing herself from the generational torment really spoke to me.
Ending
Maelle
I knew it was the bad ending but I just really agreed with her. Until I got jumpscared by the piano being played cutting to her face at like 2am. She's genuinely psychotic and there's alot of layers to it but I don't regret anything.
did you cry
Yes I'm a crybaby I cry at alot of shit I can't help it. The voice acting in this game is off the charts good and alot of moments sent me into tears.
Lol no. Painted with what Aline assumed to be his memories and personality. This is stated outright.
I really doubt she knew everyone in Lumiere.
Verso only wants the canvas erased because he wants to die. His entire goal in the game was just to die.
She did say she worked as a courier before the start of the game, but yes besides the people she actually knew the rest were likely as NPC as painted creations get. Just as long as she gets her little dollhouse to play with until her death.
The game itself disagrees with you, because he works through act 2 to send his mother home and through act 3 to help Alicia save the canvas.
Even when he loses his first reaction is to have verso's soul to stop painting, until Alicia forcefully stops him.
Now imagine you get sent to a world where you have your legs back, you are living as a track star, and then some silly bitch shows up, smashes your legs, and then expects you to thank them for it because 'escapism bad'.
I cried at that exact part too. I wish I had someone that would reassure me everything will be ok.
if you don't go back your family will implode and you will die in the real world
Unless you hate your family, most people would do it.
Define real people, define conciousness please
and in Maelle's ending she erases them both
By the way your family are the ones that brainwashed you to think you were someone else, made you relive your entire trauma then reminded you of your first trauma
All of it for giggles basically
My family can sincerely stab each other to death at that point.
Verso helps Alicia in Act 3 to save the canvas, it's only when he sees his mother immediately return to the Canvas after being expelled that he fully realised that destroying the Canvas is the only solution now if he wants to save both his mother and sister, so he sides with Renoir completely.
Cause he knows his wife and daughter are weak minded and will never willingly leave the painting.
He doesn't know that, he's just traumatised by his own experience of refusing to leave a painting, that's why he clings to what Aline taught him and his love of his family to stay sane and justify his actions. If he'd just had a little more faith in Aline and let her stay inside until she was satisfied, then she would have left on her own. All the strain she was feeling in the real world was because he was trying to brute force her out. She would have just been chilling on a couch with a smile on her face if he'd left her alone.
Okay could have started by saying you were retarded.
Real people die and don't come back. When Maelle grabbed her friend's Chroma and pocketed to revive them later, she proved that they're fake.
If you headcanon so hard, sure.
Aline and let her stay inside until she was satisfied, then she would have left on her own.
You keep pushing this but Aline is unable to let go.
If Renoir had to enter the canvas in the first place is because she had overdone it.
And Alicia did the same.
Retard.
surely at some point Maellefags just have to be arguing for the sake of it. They already knew they are wrong but are just ragebaiting.
behold the new Edeltards!
The "real" world in game has literal magical beings with powers, stop using real life rules to define things
The "real" world in game has literal magical beings with powers,
Yet nobody could magic Verso back into existence. Cope.
Its implied in her ending that she cant let go and ends up wasting away in the real world to play pretend in the canvas
It's not implied at all. It's stated quite clearly and never denied.
Alicia dies if she stays. Her ending is a suicide.
Maybe his body / soul was so broken it wasn't possible in his specific case?
The fact we can even have these debates about the story and endings is the mark of a powerful narrative, no?
Lol
No. That's a cope and now you're resorting to headcanon.
So are you.
Please point me at the in game statement that reviving people isn't possible outside the canvas for the various types of mages that exist in the games "real world"
Gustave
Maelle
Of course no, I got a happy ending
i need this to beat clea
I just beat her on expert. Here's an idea:
Pictos: Cheater, Anti-burn, Anti-stun, Marking Shots, stuff for raising AP.
I fought until my grandient was level 3, then on Maelle's turns (2 turns thanks to Cheater), I hit with Gustave's Homage to enter Virtuoso and in her second turn shot a few times to mark Clea, then used her level 3 grandient. It dealt 10kk damage finishing her off.
Yes but the issue here is the people who choose the bad ending don't think it's a bad ending even though
It's the suicide of a young girl
The devs put massive in your face cues in it that show it as wrong and evil
It'd be one thing is Maellefags were just really into the vibe of choosing a fake world and rejecting reality until you die but instead they think that characters within fiction are real people. That's all painters do: They make paintings that are alive. It's still a painting. It's still not real life.
the various types of mages that exist in the games "real world"
They don't mention anything of the sort copelord.
Not at all. Real people are real and fake people are fake. It's very simple.
You keep pushing this but Aline is unable to let go.
She was in the process of letting go until Renoir showed up and reset the whole process again. He's not a reliable witness, his perception is tinged with his own past failing, which is why he expects the worst. Aline isn't a lightweight, she's head of painter's union and knows more than him about painting and her own limits.
the dancers
the cookers
the bodybuilders
Forgot about shield pictos. I had on every character: In Medias Res, Base Shield and Shielding Death.
Headcanon.
She knew it was wrong in the end. She accepts and loves Renoir deeply for saving her. How do I know? Verso's ending showed us.
Copes. Nothing but copes.
i want to learn french again kek
Maellefags are now resorting to headcanon and denying basic logic while projecting those sins onto Versochads
HILARIOUS
imo anything thats not a one, two or three shot is legit
This game's conversation is so dead these threads can only sustain themselves on trolls and bait lol
Please point me at the in game statement that reviving people
If you don't like the implication that other beings exist fair enough, it's weak I agree.
Engage with just the above instead though.
Alicia already planned for this. She promissed Lune to make a painting within the painting to show her what the outside world looks like. Alicia's painting would dilate time even further and let her spend more time int he painting. To her it'll feel like millennia in between her soiling herself.
I've engaged with everything. You're coping and want a young girl to kill herself while hiding in Magical VR Goggles.
In the Verso Ending, Aline and Alicia are shown standing over the gravestone for Verso, showing that they accepted that he was gone and could now grief without the crutch of the Canvas.
The thing that is EXPRESSLY NOT SHOWN in the Maelle ending is her leaving the canvas, showing the player that she did not get over it and decided to stay in the Canvas until her inevitable death.
None of that is shown. That's your particular take on what is shown. Why keep this conversation? Are you autistic?
No I'm not, engage the fucking question, where in game does it says revival outside the canvas isn't possible.
For the record, Verso's ending is better and Maelle going crazy or dying in the long run is so in your face during her ending it's impossible to think that's the good ending, but you're the one headcanon-ing here.
I don't think it can be understated how important this game is for France. As a straight white American, I think of France with disdain and the fact that Paris is completely overrun by gypsys and muslims. I would still never go to Paris, but France as a country as rised a fuckton in my estimation. I'm also ready to admit their language is actually pretty. Good job, France. Their PM should stop getting beaten by his groomer wife and shill the game.
where in game does it says revival outside the canvas isn't possible.
That's headcanon. Bringing up concepts not touched upon in the game's text is headcanon. I'm operating within what the devs gave us: A setting where we know there's magical painters and some other people called writers who presumably have their own special powers. You're now writing fanfic to try and cope. At no point do they imply writers or painters can revive the dead and the entire plot would fall apart if they could because greiving suicidally for Verso would be even dumber than it currently is and would no longer be even slightly understandable or reasonable at all.
Apologize for wasting my time, filthy fucking single digit IQ addlepate.
Macron already shilled the game
All we know is that there's magic capable of making the canvas float.
At no point do they imply writers or painters can revive the dead and the entire plot would fall apart if they could because greiving suicidally for Verso would be even dumber than it currently is
It could be that normally reviving people isn't actually that big of a deal but the fact that they can't in Verso's case is part of the reason they're all spiraling about it.
Maelle spending 16 years in the canvas and caring for the painted people is entirely Renoir and Clea's fault. First Clea used her as a tool, and when painted Renoir tried to kick Alicia out of the canvas, real Renoir interfered because he was also using her as a tool while guiding her as the curator. All the Dessandre's are selfish manipulative cunts, but at least in Maelle's ending she's happy and a whole universe of sentient beings are alive.
hurr but she'll die
everyone dies. In the painting she will at least feel like she's living longer.
It could be
Everything after this like is headcanon/fanfic.
You know spamming headcanon isn't as brutal of a retort as you think it is right, I've already stated I personally think Verso's ending is probably the correct one, but asking questions about why people can side with Maelles decision is fun :)
You know spamming headcanon isn't as brutal of a retort as you think it is right
But it's just a fact. It's not a retort, it's a complete refutation of your entire argument.
've already stated I personally think Verso's ending is probably the correct one
And yet you're wasting time trying to prop up the far worse ending WITH HEADCANON.
but asking questions about why people can side with Maelles decision is fun :)
Not really, you're just starved for attention. This is the final (You) I'll give you lonely faggot.
where in game does it says revival outside the canvas isn't possible.
If Verso could be revived then why wasn't he revived? Do you understand that reviving Verso would literally prevent the entire plot of the game?
he's a lonely retard desperate for attention. Don't reply.
favorite character
Lune
ending
Verso
Don't do this. Don't leave me again.
n-no i didn't cry it's just dusty in my room shut the fuck up
God Une vie à t'aimer has been stuck in my head since I hear it.
Let's be honest. Do we ACTUALLY think this is a good game?
So far, it's easily my GOTY.
hurr durr Alicia is going to die in the Canvas in Maelle's ending!!!
She has a real family outside of the painting, they're not bad!!
Versofags are truly retards. Even if Alicia herself would never want to leave the painting - her family could easily kick her out of the canvas in no time, because she's not a pro/genius painter, unlike all of them.
So if Versofags believe that Alicia's family cares for her, there's no way they would let her die in the painting so their complaints are stupid either way.
It is honestly a top 5 game of all time for me, I miss 90s JRPGs and this scratches a lot of those itches while also having a lot of the benefits of modern game design.
It's a pretty great game but the endings downgraded it down to a 7/10 in retrograde.
So yesno.
The quality is there though, undeniably, even if it in the end felt like the director had no respect for his story whatsoever.
I was in the same boat, just grind till you like 80lvl+ and its will be better
A DRAWING OF WHAT??
Genuinely, yes. It's not the greatest game of all time but it's still fantastic.
it's very good at masking it's shallowness
As a straight white American, I think of France with disdain and the fact that Paris is completely overrun by gypsys and muslims
why do mutts always pretend that their racial demographics aren't the most fucked up in the entire western world?
endings so good I'll probably remember them forever
this is a bad thing
Explain
I chose to destroy the Canvas. Not because I agreed with Verso, but because what Aline did what utterly appalling to the memory of her dead son.
Imagine you had a hobby for drawing as a child. And as children do, you start out by putting down whatever your imagination comes to mind; how your imaginary friends look, your oc fantasy races, the idealized representations of the family pets. But time passes by, reality creeps up, and you need to pick up a more stable career to put bread on the table. And then you die in a hit and run.
While your parents are sorting through your belongings, your mom uncovers all the crude sketches you used to draw as kid. And then she starts to draw ALL OVER your old works. Squeezing in detailed portraits of you in the empty spots, illustrations of a scenario where you never died juxtaposed with your old doodles. But no matter how immaculate those additions are, your mom doesn't care that she is perverting her child's treasured creation.
I am in no way going to go down that rabbit hole. If you are happy with them for some reason then be blessed my child.
This
He was SO upset when Aline came back in. He completely shifted.
Speak for yourself, Ahmed. My DNA is 100% white.
NOOOO not the woman that condemned to a century of suffering
I MUST genocide everyone for her! For good!
Fucking menace of a retard this man is.
Monoco and Esquie would never have been content for Verso to be a piano-slave. That's how you know Maelle erased them in that ending
Lune's Asian parents taught her taekwondo
She's a magic genius and hypothesized her kicks would be even stronger if she grafted pictos on her skin to reinforce them with elemental magic
Tests hypothesis with promising results, but her shoes burn up.
Conclude that magic kicking is effective fighting style and that the loss of footwear can be mitigated by simply floating everywhere
Submit paper to Expedition Academy for peer review
Lune is very smart.
I just played through both endings
If you picked Maelle's ending you're not only wrong, you're cruel beyond cruelty.
Obviously the only rational conclusion. Very smart!
you're talking about another country as a whole though, and I'm commenting on your country as a whole in return, your race is irrelevant to the point I'm making you fucking retard, you turn your nose up at france because it's got niggers and muslims meanwhile you're like sub 50% white
they better have some good ideas for a sequel because this entire story relies on the "youre in the matrix" reveal which they cant do twice
imagine you lose your only son and your youngest daughter and wife log into his world of warcraft account and refuse to log off.
Of course you'd unplug the internet
Writers ARE evil and they must be hunted down inside their book worlds.
Plot twist; the real world is just another fake layer
that would be really gay unless they expertly pull off "its all a video game" type shit which would be nearly impossible to do well
It was a neat attention to detail that Maelle and Verso gommage with different petals than the rest, with Verso taking the longest to disappear.
And then she starts to draw ALL OVER your old works.
You're dead, why do you care about what is happening to your belongings, lmao.
Verso is pure white (Aline's chroma)
Maelle is yellow (her chroma)
Everyone else is rec (verso's chroma)
I love Sophie's ass!
he himself was once in the situation where he couldn't make himself leave the Naked Catgirls canvas world and was rotting himself to death until wife come in and force disconnected him
HE KNOWS THEY WILL NOT PART WITH THE CANVAS
HE WANTS HIS FAMILY TO FINALLY START HEALING
"LIFE FORCE ON US CRUEL CHOICES" He fully consider the people in the canvas to be living beings but he has to put priority on the real world not on whatever is left of Verso and Clea canvas after it was raped by Aline grief
I love you, anon.
I thought it was already implied? The writers are the creator of their world
You know, I just realized that the only reason this plot is even possible is because nobody in this fucking game is listening to each other. They just keep forcing their will onto other people who keep telling them to fuck off. Must be a Dessendre way.
It could start outside in the real world, but something makes the MC enter the painting/book/whatever.
mc finds an old book written by a relative
enters it and the story unfolds
So he's projecting.
Yes, out of love for his family
Don't think anyone cares why, just that he is doing it, and it's causing harm rather than helping anyone.
He's projecting. That's Renoir's thing. He keeps making wild assumption without bothering to listen to the other side.
It's cute the he immediately deemed Alicia as irrational, but then it turned out she wasn't and he blew the only chance he had to get through to his daughter.
That isn't even the worst part. Verso's passion was music. Not painting. He was robbed of that passion because of his families art lineage. Verso... had a hard life...
the only chance he had to get through to his daughter.
that was impossible the moment she called the canvas home.
It's cute the he immediately deemed Alicia as irrational, but then it turned out she wasn't
Maelle ending literally prove Renoir was right LOL
Because your family is making things cringe when it doesn't have to be.
Posthumous cringe is still cringe.
wish lune would do this to me
Writers ARE evil and they must be hunted down inside their book worlds.
Anon, we are the writers, and the story of this game was written by one of our kin. The fire that was the impetus for the game's plot was written into existence simply because tragedy makes for a compelling story. Clea can seethe all she wants, but at the end of the day she's just an imaginary being playing her role in the story.
What color was Renoir when he got ganked?
Because your family is making things cringe when it doesn't have to be.
So what? It doesn't change anything for you.
They'd just need to balance his wheee levels and he'll be mostly good as new.
people see the save the canvas ending and think it isn't absolutely the bad ending
nani???????
Because he has made the absolute shit job at convincing her otherwise. He either kept talking about himself or he kept saying obvious non-sequiturs like "Alicia, you'll die" after his daughter told him she has nothing to live for.
He's not exactly a father of the year if he cannot into psychology 101.
You are really desperate to keep these threads alive. Why?
Maellehebewifefags are delusional and will do anything to make their underage wife happy
Shan't be opening any xXxTw1tt3rxXx links.
Is this real?
Monoco and Esquie were both fine with the canvas ending, they knew the child that made them to be his imaginary friends could finally rest
Verso was a lying bitchcunt. Fuck em'.
Wahh, I'm 100 years old. I've lived so loooong! I'm tiiiired!
Actual people have lived longer than that and didn't want to kill themselves. Fucking whiny retard.
And they are also fine with Maelle's ending because the kid has been given a body to play in the world. What is even your point? That they are inconsequential side characters with no agency? Yes, yes they are.
I am starting to hate this fanbase.
OMG, is that.. MONOCHROME! This ending is so baaaad!
Versofags really are brainlets.
sure thing hun
ok well your 100 year old grandma never realized that she was a fake toy created as some maladaptive therapy doll to soothe her mother over the death of the real you and that she'd actually live an indefinite amount of years in a dying, violent apocalypse because your sister wants to play pretend.
Can we have a comfy spoilerfree thread instead?
And they are also fine with Maelle's ending
Absolutely unclear if Maelle didn't mindfucked and repainted the shit out of the entire canvas.
The detail of Verso shaking as he is not playing the piano for himself but for her like a puppet on a string and there is some parts of his real verso soul fighting against it
If you picked Maelle's ending you're not only wrong, you're cruel beyond cruelty.
I pick Maelle's ending because it implies every other member of the dessandre family has character development at the expense of Alicia not having to suffer a shitty life in the real world.
Aline is nowhere to be seen, meaning she didn't re-enter the painting
Renoir is choosing to trust Alicia, something he didn't do with Aline
Verso hesitates playing the piano, but then decides to set aside his own happiness for a moment and play for Alicia's sake
Clea is perfect, no character development necessary.
No.
We are here just to suffer.
No, what the fuck are you doing discussing a game you have not finished? Retard
You know Anon Babble will be debating the ending for years. It really is a masterpiece. Its so good Anon Babble is actually discussing vidya
Absolutely unclear if <retarded made up bullshit>
Aight. Bye then.
True. True. Until your mom or sibling's soul follow you shortly after and you have to bear for the rest of eternity the knowledge that they had wasted away fixating on your old drawings.
Who was your favorite character?
Lune. Rare example of "serious" without being bland.
Which ending did you pick?
It's time to stop painting
Did you ever cry?
Yes. But I'll never admit it, because when I say that here, people call me a fag, which also makes me cry.
Sure. I for one am already getting bored by talking in circles.
How does their economy work? Painters make custom worlds for people to buy and lose themselves in. Writers make books that people read and get a meth high from it? Sculptor's can make realistic autonomous creatures/things that people can play with.
And? She also wasn't perpetually able bodied and thereby capable of having fun in any number of ways.
for all you know only a week could have gone by in the real world and the entire family is waiting to heal and to figure out how to go back in and fuck maelle up in the canvas
yeah despite living the equivalent of thousands of years Aline still acts like a childish brat
Faaaaaaaag.
Me too though.
Absolutely unclear if Maelle didn't mindfucked and repainted the shit out of the entire canvas.
Alicia doesn't have that kinda power. Clea is leagues more skilled than Alicia, and when she paints over people to mindrape them, they look literally painted over with ghostly white paint on their skin.
this game is really exposing kids who dont understand the dangers of escapism or havent experienced true loss vs the actual adults who side with Renoir and know what is best for people
You want Alicia to live a life of perpetual torment in her crippled body with a mother who hates her, a bitch sister who couldn't give less of a shit about her and a father who cares but will forever be busy tard-wrangling the rest of the family.
When she says there's nothing left for her out there she's absolutely not wrong.
Why does this whole story feel like it should be a Broadway play
You are so cool. Drop your pants. I want that cock.
nooo, escapism is.. le bad!
You don't get to call anyone else a child with arguments like that.
It's because the real undercurrent of the game is that the painters understand the canvas is not real and doesn't actually matter and therefore the beings inside of it are playthings.
Truly the Dessendre's are Greek God coded.
Alicia doesn't have that kinda power
At that point Maelle had complete control over the entire canvas chroma and could repaint the entire population of Lumierre and people died decades earlier.
She has that kind of power
Some of her attacks use her feet. Human Torch logic.
Jesus, why is Lune doing that to Monoco?
Pure headcanon.
Pfft, by the time they go in the painting Alicia will be 40 canvases deep and her consciousness would have had millions of years to practice painting. She'd BTFO them.
youre righht...... she should instead go NEET mode and play the equivalent of Final Fantasy 14 until she withers away at her computer
then her family could lose a second child as their lives are ruined by whatever conflict their in with the opposing magical guild of all powerful godlike creators.
No, she doesn't. It's a skillset you learn, not a matter of chroma. It's stated.
wait till they find out what Clair Obscur means
At that point [headcanon]
nigga shut the fuck up with your bullshit.
Knowing Dessendre's attitude towards Alicia, they will most likely forget she existed in the first place.
I guess Renoir might care for her about five minutes, until Clea throws him at the Writers or something.
SEQUEL HYPE
Would you guys rather have a true sequel to this game, or another original game by the same studio?
oh wow look at you, blaming a man for wanting to die in peace and calling him a bitch because he's died and suffered countless times, seen his friends and loved ones die and seen his dreams shattered over and over again.
Seriously fuck off
maellle was right. The lives of 4 people pales in comparison to the millions inside the painting. Renoir wants to commit genocide even after getting aline out because he can't control his bitch in the real world.
If the alternative is death
I missed the part where the painters are immortal outside of the painting. And don't tell me that part doesn't exist because there are hundreds of people who have clearly seen it.
she should instead go NEET mode and play the equivalent of Final Fantasy 14 until she withers away at her computer
She doesn't have to stay in there forever but if you're pretending that you wouldn't take the option of playing fully immersive VR games in her situation then you are straight up lying, to yourself first and foremost.
Honestly neither, after the bullshit endings I will be forever on guard about everything they write being a tweest or asspull.
then her family could lose a second child
Honestly? They brought this onto themselves. Maybe next time DON'T ignore and abuse your youngest child that's currently in extreme pain, both physical and psychological, to the point she concludes she rather prefers to die in a canvas then to deal with her batshit family.
Verso has worked the entire game towards the goal of destroying the canvas. He was there shadowing the group from the moment they landed on the beach and meat painted Renoir.
Noooo! I was occasionally SAD! This means that only MY sadness matters. Everyone else should DIE so I don't ever have to be sad again.
This is the rationale you're trying to defend.
Wow retard. That’s only if you smashed Sciel first. If you don’t, Lune invites you to smash and “work on her music”
Did you miss her Axons?
The only moment Verso doesn't lie in the entire game is when he tells her she is Renoir most precious treasure and wants her to soar the skies instead of staying locked in her room in solitude supressing her talents
How were you hoping the story would end?
if the sequel has anything but the thinnest of ties to Expedition 33 I will not play it. There is a reason the Matrix 2 and 3 sucked ass.
I'd like to see another glimpse into the world they've created, but if they have some other genre progressing ideas for another type of game I'd rather see that. Imagine their take on an FPS or something that redefines the genre as we know it as COE33 did for turn based RPGs
Literally all done by him on his own will. Nobody else to blame. He knew.
redefines the genre
I love this game but that's very generous. COE33's gameplay is quite good but nothing if not derivative.
They'll care when Alicia manifests expedition 60 into the real world to guard the canvas and shit in Renoir's coffee.
Julie was too long gone, chroma corrupts after being non-human shaped for too long.
She doesn't have to stay in there forever
she lied to everyone that she wouldnt and only verso called her bullshit out to her face that she intends to stay in there and die in her tortuous dollhouse
instead of staying locked in her room in solitude supressing her talents
Well, after the accident, she's now outright condemned to live out her life in her room in solitude.
What if your skin was tearing apart if you moved to quickly, you couldn't talk, lost one eye and every breath you take causes you pain, you fat fuck?
Kay? She still does not know how to do that.
And her own counter-argument is that Renoir blindly puts her on a pedestal to compensate the fact he doesn't actually know her or her limitations.
in comparison to the millions inside the painting
they are not real
you might as well hold a holocaust remembrance day for that one time you uninstalled GTA5
The only one being tortured is Verso and that's misery of his own making.
Renoir will come back with Clea eventually.
I knew it was the bad ending
The devs don't think of them as good or bad endings and more importantly I don't think of them that way. You wouldn't want to go against what I think, would you?
they are not real
No u
I would save my copy of GTA V over you so that is a non argument.
Maelle ending bad
Yes, I think that's about right. Act 2 Maelle died from the gommage, but because she's a painter it just booted her out the painting, now with all her memories restored, after which she promptly hopped back in and took the appearance of a hybrid alicia/maelle.
that's misery of his own making.
how the fuck can people think this way
He was forced into exitstence by a grieving mother and knows he's not real. He's fucking Buzz Lightyear. A fragment of his real self's soul is trapped in the canvas and is screaming to be released from eternal torment.
I don't know. Wanting to give the people of Lumiere some happiness isn't all that unreasonable. It might be at the cost of Maelle's life, but she chose it that way and it's not like she would be having all that much fun in the other world.
Most anons in here would kill themselves if they had such a broken body.
they think that characters within fiction are real people
They obviously are "real" people. They have real emotions, real desires. They even create new art and technology. They are in fact so real that they can rebel against their own creators.
Name a single thing that differentiates a robot from a human being that those people don't have.
It's like arguing the people in most religions aren't real, because they have a creator.
It might be at the cost of Maelle's life,
what happens to the canvas when Maelle dies?
It will be abandoned or erased. All Maelle did was buy her imaginary friends some time before their inevitable extinction.
Everyone has long accepted him for an entirely different entity as the original. The people of the canvas don't even have the concept of who that person even is.
He knows he can be whatever he wants and chooses to be a little bitch. Fairly simple.
Maellefags just have to be arguing for the sake of it
Then this post:
Oh, I get it.
They have real emotions, real desires. They even create new art and technology.
right just like when world of warcraft characters built a new catapult.
how the fuck can people think this way
It's just a reversal of the same logic that people try to force on Alicia.
Versofags keep saying that she should just go and suffer in the real world so Verso can rest. I say the opposite. Verso should keep bearing his cross with dignity so she can have respite from the nightmare of her reality and her friends get to live some more.
Cool? I'd want 100+ years of adventure ahead of my death of it was a choice rather than just fading away in confusion and misery with no conclusion?
The lead writer outright confirmed that this is what Alicia is trying to do in her ending - give all the people she cares about (and herself) a happy ending they deserve. And I guess she's sad thata Verso is not having any of it, because Verso knows it's an illusion.
Which incidentally defeats the argument that she has repainted and brainwashed everybody, becuse if that was the case, Verso wouldn't have known he's living an illusion.
I'm not sure a sequel could work in any way that doesn't diminish what they've created with Expedition 33.
the nightmare will never end
grief is everlasting and forcing a fake version of your son to exist despite him clearly and definitively stating he does not want to is pure evil.
I notice Alicia's brows are much more bushy than Maelle's
Can anyone post direct comparison
That happens regardless faggot. Sciel puts out at like relationship level 3. Lune sure as shit doesn't.
He'll fade away eventually either way so why should he be the only one to disappear on his terms?
I can't think of any story based game that I enjoyed more in the last 10 years.
Underrail was really great, but kinda shat the bed in the last part. The Witcher 3 had too many meh parts in relation to the main story. Cyberpunk and BG3 were just okay, the Pathfinder games got very tedious with the trash fights and pre-buffing as you got further into them. And all the other games I'm not thinking about right now: there's probably a reason I don't remember them right now.
give all the people she cares about (and herself) a happy ending they deserve.
ok what happens when they ship off Expedition 13 or some shit and the entire city if just a handful of confused, starving children?
Daily reminder that Gustave would have been on Verso's side.
What
1000xRESIST had a really good story
girls with thick eyebrows have big pubic hair bushes which i love and i also love it when their vagina bush stinks a little bit like she sweat a bit and its kinda funky
id like to chew on maelles big hairy muff like a goat eating grass.
He looks to be finally aging in the end so he can rest when he's earned it.
And I care about Lune and Gustave getting a chance to live infinitely more than I ever will about Verso.
No. He would have been on Painted Alicia's because unlike everyone else they aren't retarded.
Weak bait.
Shut the fuck up retard don't ever reply to me with garbage like that
So glad I picked Verso's ending first, it allowed me to properly hate Maelle's ending.
a version of her brother that has literally lived 3x as long as her real brother in a world he had created begs for death
she repaints him anyways
Actually evil.
Favorite character was Maelle. Note that this does NOT mean I am a delusional Maellefag who thinks her end is a happy end ackchully. I just really love her complexity as a character. Seeing her transformation from the Maelle at the beginning to the selfish brat she turns into in the end, and her various relationships with the family
Verso's end. I do think the ending is a lot more bittersweet than people give it credit, but ultimately I wanted Maelle to grow and move on
No but there were three moments I got really choked up. The first was when Esquie hugs Maelle after Gustave's death. The second was when Sciel talks about how she tried to kill herself. The 3rd was hearing Maelle's reaction when Verso admits he let Gustave die.
She suspected that Verso let Gustav die at this point. Payback.
No, she just has those bushy brows.
I'd be open to a "sequel" that's in the same broad universe (with the painters and writers and so on), but the story of the dessendres and verso's canvas should never be returned to.
Man, white hair Maelle is so much prettier
<3
Gustave was kinda doing a follow us motion with his hand. Suicide ending confirmed?!
So why is painted Alicia... grey???
Couldn't agree more. Expanding or elaborating on what we got would completely ruin the story we have. No ending should ever be confirmed canon, no more details should ever be given. We actually have a narrative we can discuss and debate on because the story we were told is that deep and human.
I wouldn't mind Alicia returning in some capacity. Although I wouldn't want her to overshadow a new story.
would you?
Absolutely unclear if Maelle didn't mindfucked and repainted the shit out of the entire canvas.
I don't know. She brought Sciel and Lune back just the way they were, so I think assuming anything else would be reaching too far.
girl named Alicia
goes into a land full of wonders
Oh, I see...
PAINTLETS ARE NOT REAL
GAS THE ENTIRE CANVAS
Her mom is a spiteful grieving psycho and made her charred up to a cinder.
Marry her? Yes.
Because Aline is a cunt that REALLY hates her daughter and didn't bother to colour her. Because she thought it would be funny.
And also so that the players don't figure out too soon that she's just Maelle with a mask, because the red hair would've been a dead giveaway. Even if this is the most obvious twist imaginable.
Same reason her hair is white. Same reason her outfit is black. Aline doesn't see any spark of life or happiness in her youngest daughter, theres no colors or vibrancy to recreate. She painted her son exactly as she remembers, and she painted Alicia exactly as she currently knows her. Burns and all. The realest Alicia of them all that we get to see is none other than her mother's interpretation. It's exactly why Verso's ending is the true ending.
Chill the fuck down Clea, you are menstruating again
Is that the Chinese expat game? Haven't played it, but from the way it looks it's doing the exact opposite of what Expedition 33 did in terms of beauty for me.
I figure that Alicia is older than Maelle, so she's probably bushier in general.
painting keeps existing
guy has to play the piano
sick woman gets to live in an alternate world which might end up badly for her
vs
the destruction of an entire world filled with sentient beings
I'm going bananas.
it's Alicia's fault that Aline painted her as a ruined shell
Ease up on the copium, Versofags. You're gonna deplete the global supply at this rate.
Aline doesn't see any spark of life or happiness in her youngest daughter,
I love that everybody in the family saw and realized that (Renoir said he saw her as a "living ghost"), but absolutely nobody bothered to do anything about this.
What a great family to have.
Would you be willing to die for the happiness of the Dessendre family? If so, would you be willing to sacrifice your parents as well? Try actually thinking about that before you have some retarded knee-jerk reaction.
It really sucks we won't have another game of this caliber in a long time I'd imagine.
comes out of nowhere
AA game from a literal who French studio
not even $70 (plus tip)
western turn based RPG in 2025
hired a composer they found on SoundCloud
ends up being a beautiful, mature, darkly human masterpiece with an unforgettable OST
won over the forever seething hearts of the most critical community in vidya (Anon Babble - Video Games)
left behind two endings that can be interpreted and debated for a long time to come
We didn't know the kino that was in store for us and it was a pleasant surprise. We got to truly enjoy a vidya again.
screaming to be released
Now you're making things up. The soul fragment is sad because of all the fighting that has happened in his canvas.
eternal torment
You realize that in that world there is a piece of the creators soul in every single work of art? Or at least in every painting. The hundreds of paintings Renoir mentioned? All of them have a piece of his soul.
im jerking off sorry and imtrying to jerk myself off and i need to type that toget hard
Would you be willing to die for the happiness of the Dessendre family?
For the Dessendre family? No. They are all shitheads.
For my parents? Sure, but only because they are much kinder and more empathetic people than Renoir and his stupid family.
I like that all three Alicia's convene in a council to agree upon the fact their life is fucked and people's take on them are bleak as shit, effectively ending as the ONLY archon-person-painting meeting with a friendly outcome.
gas every single paintlet
they're not real. it's escapism.
Maellehebewifefags are delusional
Yes.
and will do anything to make their underage wife happy
In the end they won't. They do everything impulsively without much thought it just need to look "good" at first.
Aliciafags on the other hand will truly do anything to make their cute and pretty wife happy long-term even if it means destroying the canvas.
How could these nice people ever be evil?
Renoir said that to Verso. This isn't the painted Renoir. It was the real one. And he felt pity for the PVerso he saw. He doesn't even engage with him outside of that one small line, because he knows how wrong it would be to try and form a connection with this version of his dead son. Renoir was willing to sacrifice more than anyone else in that family, besides Verso ironically enough. Who gave his life for his baby sister.
It's also funny to me that the only reason Verso cares about the soul fragment is because it's the key to his own death. Guarantee you if the kid said he doesn't want to stop painting then Verso would have killed him anyway.
It's a good game
not GOTY or classic but a good game.
if pRenoir kills humans so their chroma can be returned to Aline
and Nevrons kill humans (Clea's doing) so the chroma can't return to Aline
then why doesn't pRenoir kill every Nevron he sees?
yes, its good. Overrated, sure, but good.
Name one (one) better game this year. I swear if you say bing bing Nintendy shit I'll fucking lose it.
No, you are also sacrificing your parents for the Dessendres, don't worry they aren't getting anything out of that. They are in the same canvas as you are right now.
Maybe he doesn't know what Clea did.
left behind two endings that can be interpreted and debated for a long time to come
There's nothing to debate, Versocucks got tricked by devs last minute and just try to justify their meaningless suffering porn
There are nevrons stronger than him
That was specifically the personality flaw of Renoir. Which is giga chad according to current chan culture, so that's why there isn't much talk about it, I think.
You cried when you felt regret over your choice, like 50% of Maelle enders admitted to in a poll.
its very good but deeply overrated because 90% of the games we get today are total shit slop for retards.
I think Gustave and Sciel deserve some happiness.
Little sisters need to shut to the fuck and do everything their older brothers tell them
I"M GONNA PROOOOOOOMPT!
I kept waiting for the plot to provide a good reason why Renoir just killed expeditioners instead of explaining the truth to them.
That reason never came. It was all just a contrivance.
fake toy created
My grandmother was a devout Christian with an unshakable believe that God created her. Don't you besmirch her good name, you heathen.
has nintendo even released a game this year
nta.
She doesn't have to stay in there forever but if you're pretending that you wouldn't take the option of playing fully immersive VR games in her situation then you are straight up lying, to yourself first and foremost.
I obviously would take the option of playing such VR. In reasonable and wise way. Why would I want to die in the near future because of overstaying and lack of experience in this ONE canvas, when I could live MULTIPLE lifetimes taking breaks in between to sort out my original life's needs/problems?
I like that all three Alicia's convene in a council to agree upon the fact their life is fucked and people's take on them are bleak as shit
That's why I call bullshit on people saying Alicia is delusion and should face the reality of her life. She already did, weighed the pros and cons, realized that reality of her life is bleak as fuck and concluded "fuck that shit, I am going with an option B".
Which is a very reasonable train of thought.
Painted people created by the Painters.
Painters created by the Writers.
Writers created by the Dreamers.
then your grandmother would never play God retard.
What the Dessendres do is Satanic.
They will be. And it'll be the same shit we always see from them. Technically polished and fun, but yet another platformer/fps/kart racer. Expedition 33 is actual art.
Yeah, let's discuss the story of this game without mentioning anything of the story. ______________________________________________________________________________ get out of here and play the game - I'd have a melty if I hadn't played this completely blind. Would be such a waste.
When Lune gets with Verso it makes Nanking look consensual.
painted beings exist for entertainment of biological beings
I want a sequel with my cute and beautiful wife Alicia as main playable character, doesn't have to continue the story directly after the endings.
True, but she hasn't overstayed yet. Not even close.
My Grandmother would never want to wipe the world out, just so some rich boy stops being sad. My Grandmother worshiped someone who sacrificed himself for the sake of the world, not one who wishes to sacrifice the world for his sake.
Jesus Christ be praised.
he thinks the painters are biological
lmao
they are narrative beings created inside a Manuscript by the Writers
Based on the 0 substance in his post I think he just wants to be mad about something he hasn't played.
t. mindreader who is always right
It's pretty simple. Only one VR setup has the people you consider your family in it.
You choose to live one life with your family than a thousand with hypothetical ones that will never be the same.
You can agree or disagree with it, but there is a simple and solid reason for it in her case.
She was lost in thought because she just suicided her copy.
It's implied that she did it in part because she understood/felt the same. So it's a heavy moment for her too, not just Verso
I don't see how another game in this universe could work. It's not like you can pull the "world in another world" think for a 2nd time.
Also based on interviews I've watched of the dev team, they are very adverse to confirming anything that isn't confirmed within the game.
Well, he IS based off of a real Renoir. And real Renoir doesn't really talk to people, he just bruteforces his way through.
If anything, painted Renoir is actually MORE diplomatic than the real one. Because at least he tries to talk Verso down.
they are not real
Name a single way in which they are not real that you fulfill.
Thank you.
Finally somebody understand what that scene was all about.
Literally not true. If you reuse Sciel every time THEN you can hit Lune. But if you ever hit Sciel before that she freezes you out
Not even close.
We don’t know this. From the dialogues with Renoir at the end, we know that she has nothing to leave the painting for, and from Verso, we know she wants to stay with him until death.
derivative
A strong word when the only other example for something similar originally came out 20 years ago.
I am a creation borne of the legacy of the living God Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
Not some 12 year old French boy and his mom who cannot cope healthily.
One time reminder that Verso disagrees and that's why he let Gustave die even though he was right there and could have saved him.
That anon is a real human
They are not real humans
Easy
Promises made, promises kept. No more lying, Verso.
Name a single way in which they are not real that you fulfill. When an AI is bugging out sometimes just restating the question works.
Say what you will about Alicia, but she does keep her promises to the people she cares about.
You're trying too hard. I bet you have 20 posts all over this thread shitting on every type of ending-"fag", you homosexual.
I told you already, are you retarded
Definition of a Human (Homo sapiens)
A human is a carbon-based, eukaryotic, multicellular organism belonging to the species Homo sapiens, within the kingdom Animalia, class Mammalia, and order Primates.
Chemical Composition:
Carbon-based life form: Like all known life on Earth, humans are primarily made of carbon atoms, which form the backbone of complex organic molecules.
Major elements (by mass):
Oxygen (~65%) – mostly in water and organic molecules
Carbon (~18%) – forms the framework of organic molecules
Hydrogen (~10%) – part of water and all organic molecules
Nitrogen (~3%) – critical for amino acids and nucleic acids
Calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, magnesium, and trace elements support various biochemical functions
Cellular Structure:
Eukaryotic cells: With membrane-bound organelles, including:
Nucleus: Contains DNA organized into 23 pairs of chromosomes (diploid set = 46 chromosomes)
Mitochondria: Sites of cellular respiration and ATP production
Other organelles: Endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, etc.
Genetic Material:
DNA made of four nucleotide bases (A, T, C, G) encodes the human genome (~3.2 billion base pairs)
Humans share ~98.8% of their DNA with chimpanzees
Genome codes for ~20,000–25,000 protein-coding genes
Physiological Systems:
Eleven major systems: nervous, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, musculoskeletal, endocrine, immune, integumentary (skin), excretory, reproductive, and lymphatic
Maintains homeostasis through feedback mechanisms
I get you and normally I would agree, but her family in the painting is not the same original family she had. pVerso is a copy, and Gustave was repainted long after his death and she doesn't seem to mind that they are not originals.
I think they tried that in the past, also P.Verso would try as hard as possible to coutneract this. The paintress also ended up being a bit paranoid, about written Renoir sending fake people after her.
We don’t know this.
Renoir was in there for 67 years, she 16. Clea said that Renoir and Aline stayed in other canvases for way longer and were fine. I think we kinda know.
but her family in the painting is not the same original family she had
She was born and raised in there for just as long as she was in the outside world.
was repainted long after his death and she doesn't seem to mind that they are not originals.
That's not a thing. She was able to bring Pierre back who was dead for a couple of years so Gustave is completely fine, like Lune and Sciel.
He couldn't trust his family
But that is a universal fault of the entire family so it goes both ways.
In the game universe those painter freaks have a similar power of creation that is comparable to the Lord. The thing that makes humans an impressive creation in Christianity is the fact that God gave us free will, even to the point where we are able to do things that displease our creator.
Just like the people in the canvas.
Ironically enough his painted son was the person in his family who held the same ideals.
I have no actual proof that anyone other than myself is actually real but I err on the side of caution and assume that they are because I can infer from their behaviour that they probably are.
So why wouldn't I do the same thing to the lumerians?
Or are versojeets saying it's okay for me to smash their heads with a sledgehammer like a watermelon because I don't have "proof" that they are alive?
b...but chemical composition! Muh god! Muh chroma!
okay, sure, those are good arguments that they're not real, however, why wouldn't you be cautious about this given that there is obvious doubt?
Clea said that Renoir and Aline stayed in other canvases for way longer and were fine
Yes. She specifically says that Renoir and Aline who are experienced painters and lived multiple lifetimes in multiple paintings seem capable of doing that. There's nothing said about noob painters like Alicia.

It's fair to assume. Also that noob kicked out both Aline and Renoir while they were at a massive chroma advantage, so she can't be that bad. There's a reason why Renoir made her Axon reach towards the heavens.

To be fair, both Renoir and Aline were exhausted from 67 years of throwing axons at each other. Because that's how you solve family disputes in the Dessendre family, I guess.
She was born and raised in there for just as long as she was in the outside world.
Yes, I know that. By the original family I mean Gustave (act 1 and before) in the painting and Dessendre outside.
That's not a thing. She was able to bring Pierre back who was dead for a couple of years so Gustave is completely fine, like Lune and Sciel.
She had Lune and Sciel chroma not so long after gommage, but she didn’t have Gustave and Pierre’s chroma. Those two are not fine and definitely are not the same as originals.
