what's your build?
Arthur simps welcome. Death to seagulls!
Tainted Grail thread
When are they going to finish the 3rd act and add Camelot into the game?
Who greening they knights in here
Where the fuck is the blacksmith in act 2 I"m about to lose my fucking mind
is it good? I'm debating picking it up
love Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, F3/NV
'ate Avowed, Outer Worlds
finally found a cool looking greatsword
it has ps2 textures in first person, but it'll do
it's a really cool game that has some balancing problems. if you want an elder scrolls game, this is definitely it. it even has the same performance problems and bugs.
That rating doesn't tell me anything about your taste, Avowed and Outer Wilds are legitimately shitty games. I can only say that as a person who hates them both I like this one even though I'm painfully aware of how fucking janky it is and how hit and miss it is in general.
avowed's gameplay is fine. i would argue it has better combat than tainted grail. the story and characters are what is garbage
fair point, I guess I just mean is it actually a decent Elder Scrolls type experience, I don't need all the simulation stuff though that does help, I just want to smack monsters with a sword but without fag shit
alright, thanks
Anyone found any respec potions in act 3?
I've only played the demo but to me it felt like Skyrim+ Dark Messiah. Looked and felt very outdated but it's from a small studio. I wasn't gonna buy it but I've been lurking these threads and second guessing myself.
I know you can buy them, but is there an actual recipe for wyrdlanterns?
Post your build
summoner with magic for insane manareg at the cost of max HP dumping everything into crit now after lvl 40.
thinking about either going dual wield or 2H for the next playthrough
at the cost of max HP
max *MP
wyrdbone arrows
did they misplace a zero on the crafting exp for these things? and the price? what the actual fuck
where can i reliably get meteorite ore in act 2? i need to upgrade some gear.
Magic is fucking OP. No reason to go anything but stealth+magic or stealth+archery.
Magic falls off really hard compared to physical 2h/dw
stealthies when they are forced to fight an arena boss where they cannot hide
I wish respec potions weren't finite
Alright I'm not doing anything this weekend and the oblivion remastered is shit, how jank is this actually
It's pretty expensive for what it appears to be fellas
Just pirate it nigga, it's less Gb than Oblivion Remastered
pirating is for movies and tv
does attack speed do anything for bows?
Really? How so? Is there better scaling somewhere or gear or
Just save the blacksmith, he always sells some and his shop restocks
If you like bethesda games then it is a no brainer
NTA but i went into act 3 and my best spell went from oneshotting trash mobs in sneak to dealing 30% damage. the problem i have is that i have not found a better spell than the third fire one. magic depends entirely on the spells you find, meleefags can just upgrade their gear.
try to do literally anything at night
KLANG
this game is more like avowed than any bethesda game.
That makes me want to play Avowed. Was that your intention?
any advice on starting the game? i went bows and put 3 points into dex tree and it takes like 10 arrows to kill anything.should i respec or?
more of a big hat man myself
inventory carry weight suddenly dropped from 145 to 120
???
please help, i can't packrat like this
put your ring back on, dumb dumb
my advice is to play this blind because it is a lot more fun that way.
o-oh
thanks
now THATS a shovel
Is something wrong with the scaling here? It does more damage than my upgraded 2handers
Currently downloading the game, how is the magic system compared to Skyrim or Oblivion?
i mean, you can if you want. i played avowed and thought it was fine.
as a mage, i long for such numbers
Is it true that act 3 is really bad and unfinished?
Im still in act 1, because i like to search every part of the map inch by inch and really love the vibe and I'm fine with the jank and graphics, because exploring and doing quests is fun which i always prioritize above visuals. But if act 3 is really bad/unfinished then i hope the devs do something about it.
This looks just like my ai slop game and I'm a solo dev! This gives me hope.
Yeah act 3 fucking sucks and I'm currently about halfway through with zero will to finish it up, would rather start over and do act 1 and 2 again on a different build. 1 and 2 are good, 1 is by far the most quality though.
I played the demo as a mage. Was hoping to do either a spellsword, pure mage build, a two-handed build or some kind of build that mimics a bloodborne hunter. What's the most fun build out of all of those? Magic was 100% better than Skyrim, already love the quick and heavy casting mechanic
Has anyone given their life energy to Beors hearth? What is the reward for giving away 40 Max HP instead of using the life force of monsters?
i finished the quest but got nothing from it as far as i could tell. i just reloaded afterwards and used monsters
Does anyone know of a more powerful spell than Scorching Blaze?
reaching light encumbrance with Lancelot's armor set and 25% crit chance with his 2-hander
Damn, combat feels so fucking good right now.
craft 500 wyrdbone arrows
handicraft jumps to 100
lol ok
wouldn't be a true elder scrolls clone without some broken day 1 exploits
this shit is like wizard super shotgun, insanely OP for such an early spell
I hope they add some QoL for summoners. Having to cast summon 6x to get your army back after resting sucks.
that ui
not touching this shit, kys shill
Chuuni as fuck.
Can you not visit Camelot in the game?
Can i play as a cute girl?
Does sword and board suck in this game or is it a viable build?
some people have said that dual wielding is just better because parry in general is just better than blocking.
Of course not. You also don't get any interaction with Merlin. I promise you, Act 3 will feel unfinished.
Why'd they do a 1.0 release then? Are they planning on adding more shit or is it just done now?
Everything's viable if you build right, even punching people with shields.
Dual wield is notably more OP than other builds since you can wield weapons with broken passives like the duelist blade.
Yes, if you progress the main quest enough to talk to Maggot, he tells you where to find the recipe.
I just started, is there a way to command summons to attack?
What do those even do? I had some but never had a use for them?
Everything's viable if you build right, even punching people with shields.
Act 2 and I'm hitting a bit of a wall with sword 'n board + heavy armour where I don't do enough damage fast enough so I have to keep healing constantly.
is it good?
act 1 is good and gets you hyped
act 2 drops the ball and starts showing the serious faults
act 3 it falls apart completely
is there a way to command summons to attack?
quick cast with the summon spell. doesn't work sometimes though, like if a boss has an arena. then you need to resummon your boys
I did it, after the quest finished I went back a couple days later and it led to a side quest where you help him build an axe for the blacksmith as a gift and then Beor tries to fuck you. So choosing monsters to fuel it probably locks you out of a relationship with him, and only maybe locks you out of the axe sidequest.
This Blade can get stupidly strong stupidly fast. It only requires Meteorites for it's upgrades but the amount of damage it gets scales really fast lol
Playing a Spell-Blade is super fun. I am using a mix of Spell-slinger and Arcanist for Spell-power + Regen and Mana-shield. And besides that I just opt for Crit and I fireballs ragdolls shit high into the air. Feels good
i wasn't a real fan of battlemage in this. i feel like this game wants you to focus on either melee or magic.
this game looks like dogshit
parry
Never playing this slop
Nice ubishit UI
It's underwhelming at first, but once you get going it's great. Out of mana? Well just whack them a few quick times and dodge out to blast them once again with quick regen. And the node that converts max Mana in HP really helps out too. Stam also turns into a non issue once you put in a few points and regain on staggers
Get the titan armour from the smith and upgrade that for a ton of hp and armour.
Get the heal 5% hp skill from the practicality tree.
These should sort out your defensive needs, as for offense:
Get the duelist sword from one of the bounties or on a chest overlooking the tribal entrance.
Or get the 200% extra damage on crit axe from the stone warden's camp at the south end of the map.
Nice ubishit UI
This..They dare ask for fucking 43.99€ and they couldn't be arsed to make a stylized UI that'd fit the game
idk man, i just went all in with magic and summoner and i'm just glad i'm not getting oneshot all the time in melee range anymore
I usually hang out on VG, so maybe I am out of the loop here. But what is going on with the AI tier post just shitting on the game for no reason? Some faggot has been sperging out in every thread now
just [-] and move on
enemies on bridge
walk onto bridge with summons behind me
one summon teleports in front of me
enemy charges, try to walk back
get stuck on summon behind
summon in front walks back
get stuck between both summons
suddenly clip through the side of the bridge
fall to my death
absolute jank scrolls
not sure if it works every time but I just swam up a waterfall like a Looney Tunes character, went from the shoreline where the seaside mansion is all the way up to the deserted settlement with those assholes selling bogus Arthurian relics
I'm not sure I understand this weight system.
No armor says if it is Light, Medium or Heavy. So the assumption is that the "Weight" pictured means that your armor type is considered "Medium" or "Light" or "Heavy" based on what it says here.
The weight differences are better the lighter you get, meaning you get no benefits for having Heavy Armor, which also means that there is no point in having "Heavy Armor", even more so as a Skill because Heavy Armor is a negative drawback. This means that you only generally want to be in Medium or Heavy Armor and that getting Heavy Armor levels is worthless.
Is this correct? And if so, what is the point of such a shitty system?
This means that you only generally want to be in Medium or Heavy Armor
Medium or Light Armor***
Whether you are using Light, Medium or Heavy armour depends on your total weight. if your weight says "Heavy", you are using and leveling the Heavy Armour skill.
Light armour gives you a buff, medium is neutral and heavy gives you a debuff. looking at the skills, you probably get higher buffs in light armour with a higher stat and less debuffs in heavy armour. idk if Medium Armour 100 does anything though.
I did. It said "it was a strong heart" and stuff. Does the monster blood heart give the guy problems?
They are on a paycheck:
For every positive comment under x, y, z company's games: +5 shekels
For every negative comment under competitor's games: +1 shekel
Does the monster blood heart give the guy problems?
idk, i convinced him that he doesn't need the heart and completed the quest that way. he said i can keep it and use it for something else. i haven't figured out what to use it for though.
That's what I thought.
So Heavy Armor is worthless, in fact, it's a negative. Honestly - what a dog shit system. I've loved the game so far but this is a fucking shit system.
Is there a point to keeping all these books on my player? I kinda figured holding onto them would be a good idea because I've had to give people books and notes and letters and whatnot before even without being prompted, like it's some hidden thing, But it's beginning to weigh too much.
yeah, he goes mental and starts talking about eating babies. i assume he gets possessed by a fae or something. he also stops being a merchant
So Heavy Armor is worthless, in fact, it's a negative
you move slower and regenerate slower when carrying 30kg of steel as clothing. who would have thought?
that is literally the system almost every game with different armour weights uses. if you could get the defence of plate armour with no drawbacks, why would anyone ever use something else?
25 unarmed in the Asylum
I am the punchmaster
Except you can lower the weight of armor with the blacksmith and easily reach medium at the very least. And the armor doesn't weigh nearly as much as you're implying. It's easy to get medium without any investment and even getting light through the blacksmith is easy.
And no, most games don't do just that. They give you a benefit to having heavy armor as a stat, like higher poise or bonuses to defense or some kind of weight based attack.
dump into stash?
That's what I'm asking, but as I've said, I've had options to hand over books or letters to NPCs. And I'm not sure if I will get that option in the future if I put it into my stash.
I feel like this game is trying it's hardest to push me into the roll of a Rogue or dex based warrior or something. Every time I turn around I find something for making Dual Wielding or Daggers or something incredible. Meanwhile I found a defense ring with... +1 defense... While my chest armor is 23 Armor....
Like what the fuck?
armour with the highest defence has the most weight
wearing that for every piece makes you heavy
"dude, this game does not give you anything like better defence for heavy armour"
Except you can lower the weight of armor with the blacksmith and easily reach medium at the very least.
not unless the armour piece isn't actually that heavy or you exploit the game to have hundreds of thousands of gold. reducing weight gets exponentially more expensive the more you do it, so you will hit a wall at some point. and if you don't level Endurance, you won't even be able to wear leather armour without being in heavy weight.
the system works. the only real issue i see is that the stats for light/medium/heavy should do something other than change the amount of (de)buffs because the medium armour stat is useless that way since medium has no buffs
Except everyone generally wants to get Endurance as it also increases carry weight and health. There is almost no reason not to get it. And AGAIN, it's not that hard to stay on Medium with the heaviest armor in the game. I was doing just that. And now I've found new armor that has the same defense as my "heavy armor" but I'm now on "Light".
Such a dog shit system.
rings feel so rare in this game. i am still wearing two rings from act 1 on my mage because the only rings i find are for melee. and the amount of rings i found in total after 20h can probably fit on two hands.
The game is extremely biased toward Dual Wielding and Dex type stuff. At least it is in Act 1 and 2. You can get like 800% Crit Damage and 99% Crit chance as a fucking Dex type character and one-shot bosses.
Now go and play with a shield and spend several minutes trying to kill the Wyrd Knight
instant death sneak icon item works on these guys
lots of web but gave less xp than a basic wyrd ghost guy
lol
you can reduce all the armor down to 0.0 with the weight reduction option at crafting tables anyways
Isn't the Red Church's prophet literally a woman?
you can cheese your summons
with several million gold, maybe. there is a reason why weight reduction cost scales exponentially
literally nothing else to even spend money on in the first place
Exactly my point. What is the point of a Heavy Armor Skill if it's nothing but downsides. I was wearing the heaviest armor in the game. I don't have infinite gold. I did no weight gold bug. I don't have any points in Practicality, yet I had Medium Weight. Heavy Weight adds no benefits, so it's a pointless skill to have Heavy Armor when there are so many ways of getting rid of Heavy Weight. Skill investment, Stat Investment and if you don't want to do those, Money or Item Investment. Heavy Weight (Heavy Armor Skill) is largely pointless.
They could have at least given us some kind of cool benefit for choosing to be extremely heavy, but nope. It's a worthless skill.
Oh I'm heavy, I'll just pay some gold or put a point or two into the weight reduction skill.
You don't need to spend much just to get it down to Medium though... And furthermore, there are items or skills that also let you go down to medium. There are a multitude of ways to go down to medium. Heavy Skill is a worthless skill. You're retarded if you can't see that. The fact that there are so many ways to get off heavy armor weight is fine. But then what is the point of the heavy armor skill? "But it makes heavy armor downsides less bad" If you're worried about that, just pay a couple hundred gold to get down to medium. The first few points into it are incredibly cheap for each armor piece. You have 6 Armor pieces. All of which you can reduce the wight of for extrmely low cost for the first 4 levels each. This alone is enough to get to medium even with the heaviest armor and no investment.
You're insane.
This was absolutely incredible early on but now it's kinda shit. Honestly a shame. I had dreams of being some kind of Armor stacking god, but there doesn't seem to be a huge variation between Armor. And upgrading armor is incredibly expensive. I thought about stacking Practicality to make this work so I can vendor everything and become a millionaire but I can't find weapons that scale on Practicality, so my damage has suffered terribly lately...
it's weird how slowly you level in Act 1 compared to Act 2 and 3. It felt like I really had to work to get from level 12 to 13. But if I blink I can easily miss that there was a level 43 between 42 and 44.
Where are more of those secret Wyrd Ruins that require the King Arthur thing.
I found Lancelots Tomb. And I also found that druid one, I think it was.... Ancient Cave? Anymore?
I'd assume there is one grave for each of the original knights of the round table. i think i have found 4 so far.
Wasn't Jesus a jew?
5 graves total
they really didn't complete the full round table? man, this game really is unfinished.
beat the game only using a sketch book once you get it
I enjoyed this encounter.
Did King Arthur Came a lot?
I just had the game (pirated) crash to black screen and turn my gpu fans up to max, had to hard reset my machine, this happen to anyone else?
Happened twice, first time I thought I must've overheated so I turned on a temp monitor, but it just randomly crashed while my 3080ti was at 65C, without a particularly high load either.
Kinda wanna know if this is just a pirated version issue so I can buy it without it blowing my pc up.
That's about how I feel. The game is great, but it's clear the game needs more time. There's a lot of things that feel lacking. And not just in quests or world design but build shenanigans too, lots of things feel kinda weird.
Shields for instance were clearly designed not to let you be immortal with how harsh the stamina system can be and no shield gives 100% protection. That's fine, but with the parrying gloves and investment into the parry tree (only the first point), you can now parry with like a whole 2 second parry window. It's an actual block with 100% protection and even staggers enemies....
And lets now speak of damage, shield bash even with the tripple shield damage does awful damage and doesn't even stagger or knock enemies down like how NPCs can knock you down with their own shield bash. And one-hander alone is just a worse version of using two one-handers. Even worse, there are several weapons you can get, even early on, that add even more parry frames. You can get like a whole 4 seconds of parry timing before Act 2 making it just a better shield in every single way only now you do absurd damage.
There's also lots and lots of rings that add crit damage one billion percent and 10 million percent crit chance, but then a ring that gives.... .02 health regen... When you can just parry and get 30% of that damage back as health, which can reach absurd levels when you have a whole 4 second parry window with 800% Crit Damage.... Or a ring that gives you 10% Crit Chance or you can use a ring that gives 2% total HP out of 100.... OOOOOH 2 HEALTH or I can one-shot all enemies around me.
It feels like 10 different people were in charge of balance all who had different ideas. Whoever designed Rogue Stuff clearly wanted the game to be a power fantasy where you're a god. And whoever designed Warrior content clearly wanted slow, realistic hard content.
I am starting to really see now why people say Act 3 is bad.
map is a boring ice mountain range
no new enemies. all are recycled.
caves are all super short and don't give any rewards really
quests all only reward you with experience
exploration in general does not feel rewarding or interesting anymore
the Dal Raitha are generally just shallow NPCs compared to the Act 2 citizens
and i haven't even seen what they do with the story in this but the forecast is bad
perceval is a dual wielding knight of the round table
beat her
get her swords
its two greatswords, so you cant dual wield them
???????????
My biggest issue;
Having a Sword and a Spell means you can't parry
Spells cannot be upgraded
This means your damage falls off hard around act 2
You have shit armor and defensives and also now your spells are weaker and you're only using a one-hander already which is weaker and now your points are spread out hard and you can't even compensate by parrying
I'm two seconds away from dropping this game to be honest. I like a lot of it, but this doesn't feel great trying to make my Vampire Knight guy work and everything just keeps going wrong and it's only getting weaker and weaker as time goes by.
my hopes right now are that - contrary to Bethesda - the devs might actually address the issues with this game and make it better with future patches.
idk why it released in the state it is in. maybe they ran out of money. The publisher listed on steam does not look like they have the power to demand hitting a deadline. So i assume they released it unfinished out of their own volition.
is it worth buying now or do I wait for a sale Anon Babble?
i ran into the same issue with battlemages. not having a parry really hurts. i just went all in on magic and summoning and that worked.
waaaah warrior this doesnt work warrior that doesnt work
bro im walking around with a giant red lightsaber of a sword on veteran difficulty parrying motherfuckers, lifestealing, and ragdolling them everywhere
Yeah, I thought about that but I don't really like going full magic because it's too easy to abuse AI and summons only make that worse. Same issue I had with Magic in Skyrim. At least if I'm partially melee, I'm in the thick of things and can experience combat more and the threats it represents, but it's just not a great build choice. No parry and no upgrading magic has led to me falling off hard in act 2. I died several times in the red death questline, I just don't do the same level of damage I was doing and I can't even really defend myself that well anymore and can only rely on dodges.
I would probably wait just in hopes of them fixing more of the game in the next few weeks.
She's stronger than you :P
played most of the game with 1h/spell but after just beating percival switching to a mix of dual wield/2h. I dunno if I'm really looking forward to a 3rd zone regardless of it's quality, had a great time so far but the repetition is definitely setting in at 30 hours.
I want to play it, but it doesn't look like it's worth $50, might wait for a sale. I'd pay like $30 or $35.
It's such bullshit for a game all about fucking KNIGHTS to have busted warrior stuff. Especially if you want to play as the archetypical heavy knight with sword and board.
Left the Asylum with 31 Unarmed. Probably could've gotten 32 or 33 if I fought the Wailing Effigy with only punches (I instead got it to stand in the fire in its arena and it burned to death) or the Berserker guy (While spamming food) but I'm not allowing myself to heal in battle. This was pretty fun.
corrupted temple
thats... thats it?
i go through all of that just for the bbeg to say "hey thanks im a good guy now :)" and leave?
my Amulet
5% Crit Chance for Melee
the amulet I just found
15% Crit Chance for Spells, 15% Spell Damage and 15% maximum mana
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
15% Crit Chance for Spells, 15% Spell Damage and 15% maximum mana
where?
One of those Druid monument things at the beginning of the swamp in act 2. Directly outside of the city of cuanacht right to the left. Just go toward the entrance of the swamp from there.
Endurance and strength sword and shield. I want to larp as a knight so I am going to larp as a knight.
Better than whatever slop you are playing
it's not the marked one on here, is it? because that didn't give me anything
Good game, wish act 2 and 3 were as fleshed out as act 1 though
Really feels like they could've used another year or even two to iron out the kinks
It is.
Weird. That's exactly where I got it.
So i did everything in Act 1 (besides the Nightspire which I'm about to go to) and am level 30 and this armor requirements are still insane. Drip looks nice tho
There's way too many quests that even after completing it, they still show up as active quests.
I gave this guy the red button, but it still shows up as broken. My quest log is like 99% completed but I have like 20+ quests there, all broken.
The stuff you get from the shrines are set no matter what order you do them in.
end of act 2
kinda burned out
i feel like the game kinda lost its charm midway through act 2 and ive heard act 3 is pretty bad. is it worth slogging on?
I think I have yet to find a chest in Act 3 that has anything but gold, a lockpick or a potion.
this has to be bugged right? im finished with act 1 and only at 5/113 entries???
i just checked and i have 3 entries being in Act 3
yes everything except the bestiary is bugged to fuck and back
Vidar or Crows?
i'm getting shit on by this mr skeltal archmage is my claymore shit?
the minute a creepy bitch in a featureless mask shows up you fucking know they're evil as shit
Apparently both have their own series of quests, I sided with the crows and got a pretty nice armor set after a couple of missions. The Fledgling set has crit rate up on the pants and boots, and crit damage and attack speed on it's head.
A pretty good offensive set if you don't mind the low armor.
friend?
talk to Act 3 chieftain
"if you need anything, ask our NPC. he will help you with your gear"
go to the NPC he mentioned
open shop
only arrows
they really should not have released the game in its current state. this isn't 1.0
Don't do it...
DO IT but save before that
I’m doing a pure mage build and the boss that spawns at night wrecked my shit. Im just finishing up Horns of the South and wrecked Galahad but I couldn’t do any damage to it and it kills me in 2 hits
Do you get something for beating it
no, that thing basically just exists so you don't run around at night i think.
Am I retarded for wanting to do a sword parry build that also lets me use the thunderous greatbow? It's just too good to give up, I only got enough bow perks to reduce the stamina. For melee, should I go 1h no offhand or dual swords? Should I just drop the bow and full spec into melee parry? I'm unironically struggling to kill stuff now and the bow has been a very nice backup option, but I might be trolling by trying to do a little bit of ranged with a lot of melee.
A bunch of high tier gacha loot.
pure mage
all points in spirituality except maybe for a couple in practicality
get damage buff for spells, plus the perk that deals more damage to a target with a status, then spell power boosted by movement bonus
spellslinger set
spells are the cheap blood spell to set status then some high damage spell
I melted Galahad with this. It deals insane damage and there are perks you can take to boost health by a % of mana
has anyone uploaded the FVLL soundtrack and not just piecemeal songs? Specifically the song that plays when you talk to ''''Hob'''' the final time.
So cooking is pretty good. Buying all of the ingredients from the vendor, cooking them and reselling them made me about 4k, and it only took maybe 2 minutes?
You can generalize, but your damage will suffer a bit.
Skills are important, the 1st level of each skill generally gives the largest return.
Crit builds are what you're aiming for if you want to generalize since there's a bunch of generic crit rate up items in the game.
I wish I could do a spellblade but I wanna parry.
same
High tier gacha loot. A lot of it.
Mage
lol
As this anon already said;
Play Dex or don't play anything.
Shield
Dog shit
Heavy Armor
Worthless Skill
Magic
Can't be upgraded and falls off laughably bad in act 2
Spellblade
worst of melee and cant parry and also the worst of magic, literally a meme joke build
Dual Wield Dex of anykind
99% Crit chance, 800% Crit damage, one-shotting everything bosses included
is there anglo-saxon armor though?
I'm honestly surprised they made it so you can't parry with Magic and Sword active. You have to spread your stats so thin. You can't upgrade magic so the damage falls off.
Even more than that though, I'm surprised no one has made a mod to have a parry with Spellblade. Just set the key to a different button. Like Mouse 4 is now your Parry Button. One-hander with no off-hand can Parry. Why can't Magic and Sword?
Play Dex or don't play anything.
no, i will play what i find cool.
metafags will never understand the joy of a LARPchad
Game is easy enough that you don't need to metafag anyway.
I'm 2~3 hitting all the common mobs in zone 2 with a shield and axe build.
Absolutely based.
Act 3 is total garbage and unfinished
I'm playing Sword and Shield. It's why I'm so salty.
NPCs can shield bash and throw you on the ground
Your Shield Bash doesn't do that, in fact, it doesn't really do fucking anything.
Your damage sucks unless you're vastly overlevled.
Blocking is just straight garbage even when fully invested into it with a shield with high block and hugely invested Stamina
Parry can get to several seconds of active parry frames with minimal investment so it's just a straight up better block. Not only will it stagger enemies, it does stamina damage to them and most of all, doesn't use as much stamina as Blocking and you can avoid all damage by doing it.
Heavy Armor is a useless skill because it adds absolutely nothing and you can easily get out of the heavy armor weight class without investing into stats at all and offers you nothing in return for wearing heavy armor as armor rating quickly normalizes and you will soon find armor ratings with similar rating to your heavy armor but much lighter
Enchanted Shield passives tend to be excessively shit or force you into blocking, which is fucking trash
It's not even about being meta either. It's about what feels good and it doesn't feel good. I've used save scumming to try out different builds with my limited respec potions. Dex feels smooth and satisfying. Sword and Shield does not.
two to three common mobs
i one-shot all of them
Wow... That's ahhh... nice, I guess. Tell me how good your block is lmao
metafags trying to get through the game as fast as possible so they can go back to playing dota for 10h a day
metafags telling people that a build isn't worth it unless you oneshot everything
it must really suck finding no joy in videogames anymore
Galahads armor isnt enchanted in any way
Is there a reason to wear gear that dosent give passive buffs? Or is there a transmog system of some kind?
His armor is Pure.
eurojank skyrim that doesnt fix its biggest problem (combat)
hard pass
Ginnungagap, Niflheim, Muspelheim.
Ild, is, dråber falder.
Ymir, Jotun, skaber aser.
The combat is actually good though, albeit simple. It feels meaty and has weight. Parrying feels good and heavy weapons feel really nice.
The real issue is balance - it's easy to become overpowered, which makes the combat feel less good when you're one-shotting everything.
that abstract arena shooter feel
Hello anons, I've only just started playing, did the main quest up until I can unlock those secret doors then I've mostly just been exploring and doing side quests.
I'm playing a basic Two-hand Sword guy stacking as much Str and Endurance as possible.
I have a few questions regarding build stuff;
Is there some good heavy armor sets?
I found Lancelots Armor literally just then, but honestly I don't care for it that much. I don't want to put points into dex but also I noticed immediately how bad it felt to not have as much health and stamina as I do, at least for me. Sure, I do more damage (I used a save then used a respec potion to test it out), but I didn't like not being tanky myself and I didn't like how I lost all the stamina and health bonuses of my own Armor (I'm wearing Titan Chest or whatever, got it in the second zone, adds like 80 health and then mostly Knight which gives a lot of Stamina).
It almost feels like the game is trying to make me.... some kind of speedy, dodge or perception (is that crit) build. It feels so rare to find my gear is that normal?
I'm having trouble finding armor stronger than my own, let alone scaling from STR and END and I'm also having trouble finding any swords better than my own, I got a Zweihander (cant remember it's real name) from one of those Gacha drops, most everything else seems to scale from Dex or Perception and Magic.
Why have a Heavy Armor skill if you can easily get down to Medium Armor through blacksmithing while keeping all of the benefits?
Maybe I'm missing something? Is there a hidden bonus for Heavy Armor or is it just as it says and you lose all those bonuses for being in Heavy Armor? Feels really weird as someone who usually uses Heavy Armor in RPGs. Like in Skyrim for example, wearing heavy armor skill levels give a thorns like ability at high levels and you stagger less or in No Rest for the Wicked you get this super heavy shoulder bash when you're weighted that destroys enemy stability.
The song's good but its kinda cringe how there's zero actual thematic or lore relevance to norse mythology to the dark arthurian myth theyre going for. it's basically there just cause viking chants sounds cool next to hr giger grimdark biotechnology dark!arthur resurrection sequence, and that cheapens it quite a bit
This game makes me hate Bethesda.
This game has so many issues, mostly related to it's budget or it being by a tiny studio with no long term talent or history to draw upon. Yet despite it's issues, it does a lot that feels so much better than anything Bethesda has done. Mainly related to how good it feels to explore and while the combat is excessively simple, it still again feels better than anything Bethesda have done.
I feel you. I think todd and team are just complacent, they're at the top of their genre so they can just phone it in, get away with uninspired design, or await modders to fix things or make things better.
I think a big part of what makes Tainted Grail so compelling is the difficulty (at least before you break the game in act 2 or so with some builds and items.) Enemy attack animations are characteristic and balanced, choreographed, but stuff can kill you in 1-2 hits on veteran, if you're not careful. Feels like fromsoft or taking queue from Requiem in skyrim, and it only really works with the extensive attack animations.
Any of you niggers played the demo first and then bought it? Is the demo character creator the same as release? It's pretty shit desu.
Does anybody know where the Pict Exploration Guild chick is? She used to be in a tower in the sunken village but now I can't find her and I really fancy her quests.
lmao i met her outside lancelot's tomb, never knew she had a quest chain at all in act 1. gonna look for her in the tower since i'm often nearby anyway to visit my wife alisa
Yeah, it's really basic, probably why most people post screenshots with helmets.
I am having so much fun. My build is very good. Do not harm the seagulls.
My build? Summon.
I restarted after 16 hours so I could romance Alisa. If that locks me out of other romances, I'll restart again maybe.
17 Marrowghast Eyes
can't find a single Marrowghast Shell in my bank
What
my blacksmith went crazy, wants to eat babies instead of tending the shop -__-
Shells drop from Curlghasts. I think one always spawns near the act 2 swamp entrance.
Finally, someone with some sense.
I wish this was like modded skyrim so I could tag team up with my grindylow bros and gang rape a female bandit boss bounty
spoiler
After removing their heads, right?
of course, I have enough mana for 3 grindylow bros. we need trachea access to have enough holes to go around
Merlin's magical finger fucking is pretty good.
You a good and just summoner.
romance Alisa
Do you only get to do that if you pick the right dialogue options? I helped her clear out the manor then when her husband got kidnapped I told her the truth and got her to stick around, but never got around to getting her silk stuff for her sewing business.
does giving the blacksmith dude 40hp for his artificial heart give any special perk as an upside? The stonewarden's dialogue seems to reflect this but I dunno.
I want to recruit his dad for the epic grailquest and I don't want to turn him into a gibbering monsterheart retard, but sheesh, 40hp is steep
I never really agreed with Caradoc but I could at least see where he was coming from. Now? Nah, he's actually just a spiteful cunt.
Shit okay, thanks anon
It's done by affection points. You have to do every dialogue and pick all the options that make her happy. Some are less obvious than others. Just be nice to her and express that you care about her and it's not too hard.
sorry nig, polish games are bad for AGPing
they're oldschool, wpierdol all trannies and eggs etc.
Was there any benefit to getting Arden Shadowblade to be taken in with that Blacksmith in the Horns?
I'm assuming what that dialogue check was for, but I didn't have the stats for it so I couldn't use it.
hence why ZERO of the shared screenshots so far are of female toons, nobody is slutting around in photo mode, etc. Actually, it makes the threads much better, actually discussing the game. MaleMC straights are just superior people.
She seems like an eccentric bitch anyway, I don't need to bang her but I hate locking myself out of content
She's cute and nice from the beginning idk why people dislike her. My only complaint is her cleavage lacks depth.
A souvenir before the end.
She's a noble with a stick up her ass, she treats you like a servant, talks shit about the village and people around her and despite the world around her seemingly being on the brink of an apocalypse her priorities are teehee shopping ^_^
Your post is very incel coded, I'll just disengage.
Is it possible to get the cooler style of the keeper armors from joining them? The ones with the additional chest plating and leather and such?
I made a female char she just looks like a lesbian in her armor and i dont want to share.
Are there any factions you could join like TES?
I usually only buy 1-2 games a YEAR but this year there are 3 games coming out within like 2 weeks of each other that i have wanted for a while. Not enough time to play them all. This problem is made 1000x worse by the fact that im an altoholic for these sorts of games.
Are there any factions you could join
yes
like TES?
no the faction system is not like TES. You dont do a lot of quests and climb the ranks for them to be their leader type thing. You get like 1 maybe 2 quests for a faction and usually just one piece of gear depending on the choices you make. At least one faction gives you their faction armor if you join them though. Some factions you can kill instead of join.
the alchemy system in this game is incredibly fucking lame desu
you can't even make custom potions or combine ingredients randomly to find out what they do
it's just a glorified crafting system with preset recipes
You get like 1 maybe 2 quests
The Children of Morrigan was like 10 quests with at least 3 sets of armor and multiple weapons.
I have felt that way since oblivion. I want to like bethesda games and i do enjoy them for a while but the "little things" keep piling up and annoying me until i quit. So many little tweaks they could have done things just a little differently to make the gameplay feel more rewarding or less obnoxious.
Its like they dont playtest what they do or think through their game design beyond just hyper focusing on making it easier for to understand for non gamers.
Tainted grail shill thread general

We have put a lot of effort into looking organic, how can you actually tell?
Total non-human death.

ANKER LÖS
FRA SOLEN GA NED
I get your point generally, even though I personally like Danheim. What kind of music do you think would fit better?
Maybe they could've gone for a similar effect with irish or welsh monks doing gregorian chants to deep instrumentals. That would've had a lot more cultural proximity to arthurian legend rather than random irrelevant asides about nifleheim and muspelheim when we're talking about avalon lmao
youtube.com
Cornish Folk music.
shes basically haley from stardew valley. stuck up city girl who opens up when presented with actual options in life
Also anyway, it's a AA release by a small developer, they used Danheim off the shelf and it's a cool fit which is fine. I can't expect them to use limited financial assets to actually commission fitting music
Can you help her or is it impossible?
A pretty tune my dude and might be something nice to have while running around the fields in the Horns but it doesn't exactly capture any of the spirit of the game with Arthurian Legends by Giger.
I did the quest and killed the forebloom thing, went back to the house no marker and she's still there and interactable, except her mesh spazzes out and stretches from time to time. Seems buggy, like she should've died or disappeared or something.
for me she just keeps talking about how her alchemist will come back anyday
Despite all my rage I'm still just a rat in a cage
Yeah, I did that but she's still saying the same stuff as when I left. I guess this is the end.
That sucks... She told me to end her suffering but nothing changed.
Rare Shield in a somewhat secret area in Act 2
100% of your Armor is reflected to the enemy attacker on successful parry
I've specifically gone out of my way to get the heaviest armor and spent a lot of gold upgrading it because I also have points in Practicality to make gold
60 Armor
despite having shit stats because I put so much in practicality my basic shitty white sword has 100 damage
seen people with weapons hitting for 300 in act 2
This shit is retarded.
I don't think shields are worth it. It's not even fun anymore. Why the fuck can't I shield bash enemies like enemies shield bash me? Why can't I do those cool as fuck running shield charges like enemies do to me!? Why is my parry window still so small and lame when I've seen anons in Act 1 with parry windows a whole 2 fucking seconds long, making their parry a better shield than my shield. Why is shield so fucking lame.
It would have made a lot more sense of the dal riata was a bigger element of the story but they're pretty minor outside of the end of act 1
anon missed the tutorial on how to shield bash
The Britons were Odinists.
giant fuck off fireball
one shots most things on Vet
"Hahah funi man go fly haha"
20 minutes later think it's not very funny anymore as I have to go look for bodies to loot 100 yards away and in bushes and shit
Any good replacement fire spell? Maybe burning arc (it's cost to damage ratio seems bad)
Also, are wand talents as good as they seem? Spirituality damage nodes are 10% each, but the wand ones are 15%
No, I can do it. You hold block then press attack at the same time. It doesn't do the same thing the NPCs with shields so. It doesn't throw NPCs to the floor. It doesn't even stagger them to a reasonably degree. And there certainly isn't that cool running shield tackle thing I've seen NPCs do to me. I'm not saying I need to do everything some NPC or boss can do, but what I can do is just so fucking lame. Shields in general just feel so shit. What's the point of fucking blocking when you can just wear items to up your Parry Window and then when you press parry, you have basically 2 whole seconds of invincibility with barely any investment. I have all the block talents and stacked up shit tonnes of stamina and the second a boss comes around, I can barely block a few hits without losing half my life through the block and losing all of my stamina. I shield bash an enemy with a shield, nothing happens. They shield bash me while I'm blocking and I rag doll to the floor.
Fucking lame ass design.
made a new character
Fuck, I forgot how slow and weak you are at the beginning.
combat spirituality*
played so much mordhau after every parry I jerk the camera down or to the sides to swing with the blade
I've gotta break this habbit. It doesn't work in every game.
anon thought he finally got gud at the game but it was all just near infinite stamina and a 400% damage modifier
I rerolled on veteran difficulty but had to give up on being a pugilist from the start, it took like 30 punches to kill a zombie.
This is most likely your psu shitting the bed or the driver crashing.
Check your eventviewer logs, if theres no driver crash but just that your pc shut off unexpectedly then its most likely psu.
If you wanna make sure run a benchmark or furmark and if it happens again you know your psu is slowly failing.
lufituaeb s'ti ,esroh wen ym ta kooL
Looks a bit sickly, you feeding her right?
How does one get there? Its in the necromancer's crypt
when you are done with the boss, look opposite of where you fought him, on top of a cliff wall
patronizing the hardworking and goodly folks at Tirisfall Glades stables
based
This is not an elder scrolls like.
The is a Gothic like
The game is fun. Seethe.
Funny thing about necromancer if you persuade him to turn into zombie, you can kill him for the loot and caretaker doesn't even care
is it worth it to save a bunch of loot and then respec to pract and then back? Feels a little exploit-y to me.
Instead, how much of the stat would you try working in on say a magic build? It feels like you can hit the stat requirement of spells (15? 20?) and then go other stats because the regen and damage are not huge per level
the OP shield build might actually to be a crit pork build then you can potentially gain stamina/health from blocking
First time around I managed to jump up to it after finding some pixelated ledge near it you could stand on, but I didn't manage to do it on my second character.
Pretty sure that's where faux-Mjolnir is hidden so you definitely want get in there. At the end of the crypt after you fight the boss, there is another entrance with some rocks that let you get up a little bit higher, but it still required a bunch of tries to make the jump by cheesing with dash.
I made to the third area and I don't wanna play anymore
I made it to the third area and I want to play more
People will really sour on this game once they enter Act 3 and see that it's like a very early Alpha build.
yeah just like they soured on Big Gay 3 oh wait
Since agility improves the height of your jump, I imagine you just need high enough agility.
Thank you! Got the hammer, tags and the permanent +max mana consumable
Fuck Caradoc. Love live Arthur.
The people who "love" BG3 never even played past Act 1. Less than 40% of player on Steam entered Act 2, and less than 10% Act 3.
so....normal video game completion numbers? Retard
you can apply weapon buffs to shields
Bash and scorch.
Yeah except it gets called le Citizen Kane of video games by people who never even finished the first half of it.
go into cave to find the Andastre wreck idol
it's suddenly the longest area in the game
has more bandits than the rest of the Horns has people combined
no enchantments
We need transmog so damn bad
Wrong cave foo'
Are there any fun spells? I'm getting a bit bored of spamming either the big fire ball or chain lightning, considering going for a DoT build since I found a ring with +100% dmg vs poisoned targets, on top of a wand that speeds up poison buildup, with burn/bleed as a secondary.
haha at least I got a bunch of these glowing flowers
This weapon was removed, right? I went to the location where it's supposed to be and it was only a regular spiked mace instead. I want my fucking boom stick
Another fanfiction take on Arthurian Legends
Fucking really? This shit got old ages ago, before we starting to make video games
I've seen a similar effect on a chest piece.
Yeah I'm wearing the chest piece now, I figured if I got this I could double stack explosions
What happens if you cheese and beet Caradoc on the island?
Does he just come back? Does the story take a different turn?
He fucking died and you won't be able to do his route anymore
Depends how you beat him.
If you say that you are Arthur and then defeat him, or if you kill him before the dialogue he stays dead. Otherwise he comes back.
You get multiple levels plus his weapons and armor (a decent two hander and a bow)
It might be a good idea to kill him after speaking as he comes back later and doesn't mind you killing him and gives you ok gifts.
thanks
If you say that you are Arthur and then defeat him, he stays dead
weird choice on the devs' part
so he only comes back if you attack him unprovoked?
Bro, it's my original king arthur setting
That is boring as shit
It would have been a good game if they didn't run out of budget due to making and sending special editions to a bunch of no name streamers and youtubers
Probably oversight on Devs part like everything else in the main plot.
They don't know about event flags or if they do nobody edited the script
I killed him on the island (didn't tell him about Arthur, just went along with his idea and then attacked him instead of taking the boat ride and) I found him chilling outside a cave in act 1, he didn't seem particularly pissed about dying because he hints at being immortal in the sense that he'll just keep coming back, haven't gotten to the Excalibur part yet
dual wielding shields counts as dual wielding WEAPONS
and benefits from perks and gear the benefit dual wielding
Good to know.
Do things respawn on a timer or when you exit and restart the game? In case you e.g want to roam around at night and farm XP
If you have one or two shields does that still count as unarmed combat?
why yes I will eat this cheese and wheat from this sealed tomb that has been here 200 years
+Unarmed damage doesn't affect dual shields, at least.
This is the game for me, I love it. I love games where you can just look at one direction, go in a straight line and if you see something interesting you go there and a little adventure happens.
I just found this windmill and a bald bitch in the cellar attacked me. Who was she? No idea but she dropped a nice chest piece that increases damage at full health.
I just found this windmill and a bald bitch in the cellar attacked me. Who was she? No idea but she dropped a nice chest piece that increases damage at full health.
She's a bandit boss you'll get a bounty to go after later, IIRC she's the one who brands all the bandits as a strategy so they become outcasts and dependent on sticking to her gang instead of going back to civilization. Could you loot her head without having the quest?
Yeah, I got her head and made the guy in the cell deliver it and I finished the quest in the city.
What the fuck is this?
Nothing to deal with. I don't think anybody talks about it either. Probably something that you learn more about in one of the board games.
a transparent deer
I found it really nice how both Farghas and the Kamelot Bounty guy comment on some old dude rocking up with the head of this bitch and asked for entry.
Little things like these make the world more alive and real, most games just teleport the npc where he needs to and nobody comments on anything.
that's ted
you can kill the crabs and loot them
Neat. Just assumed they were scenery.
Don't kill too many and go to the shrine near the sea
WHERE IS THE FUCKING MERMAID I WANT TO DIE HAVING MERMAID SEX
anon...fish reproduce asexually
she releases her eggs in the water and then you cum on them
but you do you
Really hope these developers pull a Lords of the Fallen or even better, No Mans Sky and completely turn around the pre-emptive barebones release. Act 1 is phenomenal. Act 2 is good but it's clear a lot is missing compared to how deep Act 1 is, especially in regards to exploration, but even just small bugs start popping up everywhere in Act 2 plus you start to gain too much EXP and start getting way too powerful way too fast here. And Act 3 can barely be called the same game. Plus, balance between stats and skills and equipment is too varied. Magic is powerful early game, but feels lacklustre by Act 2 and 3. Str Melee feels decent through most of the game and I'd argue is the most balanced while Dexterity and Perception feels utterly busted from the very first time using it. Shields are shit. Bows feel like shit until your a dozen levels into the Bow tree. Crafting feels too limited. And Practicality has virtually no weapons for it at all.
If they can fix this - this would easily be one of my favorite games of all time. Act 1 is seriously really fucking good.
nuh uh, she has mermaid boobies, therefore she is at least part mamalian. Therefore I am putting my dick in something before I get my head ripped off.
Where is the crafting station in Cuanaght?
And maybe another alchemy station since im always running to the hospital for that. Seems im missing something.
Also im falling behind the power level curve. I have been using the same bow since act 1 and its not cutting it anymore, neither is my 1 handed spear.
boobies
anon...those are egg sacs...
Act 2 is kind of boring ngl. Like it's not awful, but it's just straight up not nearly as good as act 1 imo. Even the scenery and location isn't as good, and the main town FUCKING SUCKS LITERALLY WHAT WERE THEY THINKING
Down the bottom in the crafting quarters on the left side near the bridge to leave the city. You have to do a quest for the blacksmith first if you want to talk to him.
I liked Act 2. But you are right about Cuanacht. That shit is fucking awful.
Crafting station down the bottom
Chest on the complete opposite side of town
Hand in ingredients location again on the complete opposite of the chest
Really shitty city.
When i first arrived on the beach i spend like 10 minutes observing these guys. It's funny how they can go under the sand which might be intended, but they also go straight through solid rock.
Does dual wielding fists count as dual wielding?
is this game good? looks like Skyrim.
It's fun eurojank
It's Eurojank. I'd argue it's closer to Gothic. But it's also very similar to Skyrim.
It's got better combat than Skyrim and the exploration is exceptional.
I love it, but again, it's eurojank so expect some issues or missing content.
Damn, that's insane. How hard is it to poison enemies? I've mostly been pure Melee Two-Hand Sword guy but maybe I can mix in Alchemy. I do have several points in Practicality.
I don't mind it, I just think horns of the south is so dense and rich with content and the fortress was a really good safe zone. Act 2 isn't hitting the same and the city is really tedious to navigate since everything is so spread out. The quests are just as good though imo, I turned wilkin's wife into a pig kek.
What armour is this?
I thought that act 2 had more distinct areas than the 1st act. The corrupted temple and the underground castle in particular were good.
My only problem with act 2 areas are the relatively lower density of unique loot owing to the fact that the areas were bigger.
Lancelots
You get it from the same beach you woke up on, but you need Arthurs thingymabob to open those Wyrd Doors.
His what now? I just got to Act 2 for reference.
I played this game on the last patch before the full release, and I came across this royal geographer chick in the sunken village. Was that quest not in the main game? I forgot how or why I got the quest to meet her.
Nope. Average at best. Feels unfinished in a lot of places and the game is all over the place. Expect minor bugs, missing sfx, baffling design choices, inconsistent dialogue, awful melee combat, teleporting summons/enemies and poor pacing in general. However, I do believe the highest points of the game, mainly the prologue and first few hours of Act 1, were truly exceptional. But everything else afterwards falls kinda flat.
Worth a pirate maybe.
when can I craft those
Also do you ever see the pict girl again from the beginning?
From what I've read: yes, she shows up in act 2 or 3 if you don't kill her
Nevermind, Poison is basically impossible to apply to fucking anything what the fuck.
If you're in Act 2 then you can open the door.
The power to open those Wyrd Doors. You get it by progressing in Act 1 so you should have it.
With how buggy this game is, I don't even know if I missed a bunch of quests/items or it's all just bugged to hell.
the clang noise when you hit with your Greatsword
This is so funny. I am literally Guts.
is it ? fire is pretty hard to click but cold isn't for some reason.
when your and your opponent's weapons clash mid-strike, there's a distinct metallic sound and you receive less damage
if you strike an enemy to the metal part of armor, you hear clang
if you strike an enemy to a fleshy part, it's another sound
This is such a little thing but it's so cool. Wish Bethesda games had even half as good of a combat system.
Bleed was insanely easy for me. But I haven't been able to apply Poison to anything.
Yeah, unfortunately a lot of things are hard to know. It's a pretty new game so you don't have unofficial bug fix patches yet or detailed wikis full of information, but in one way it is a bit fun hang out in these threads and share tips, find out things together etc.
streamable.com
I love the sound effects. CLANG CLANG CLANG
This Greatsword is ugly. I'm gonna get rid of it despite how strong it is.
Yeah, the weight of melee and the sound effects have been satisfying for me so far.
You have to do a quest for the blacksmith first if you want to talk to him.
Okay i think thats what i been missing, it was weird not having a crtafting table. Gonna go take care of it right now
Yeah it's great. Subtle hitstop, those tasteful slowdown and not-too-often cinematic kills. Ragdoll settings just right and aligning to your weapon swing direction when you land the killing blow. Bethesda can't compete in making combat weighty and satisfying.
If i see a weapon that upgrades with Copper thats literally its "tier" right? for lack of a better word
That weapon fully upgraded (again fully for lack of a better word) is supposed to be worse than one that upgrades with iron, then with meteorite etc
Sounds and looks like a half finished game with little thought or planning invested into it.
Seems that copper -> iron -> meteorite -> titanium is the early game "tier" progression.
Spot on on the first part, not so much on the second. It's a typical case of polishing early parts and then running out of budget and making do with what's complete to at least get some money back.
game advertises itself as an immersive dark fantasy
you get out of the starting area
game pulls bait and switch and all the side quests are full of millennial writing and marvel style unfunny jokes and quips only redditors find funny
Why is this allowed?
It's definitely a passion project
How do I get Wyrd Bone?
porn is being introduced to cuanacht soldiers
the only dialogue options you have is to defend porn
hmmmmmmmm
Im poor as fuck, right now i could use EASILY 10k gold
i just checked and have 40 of those.
i think the stagfather shrines give those as rewards (the ones that spawn three wyrddeers to hun in 30 sec) also the ratpig monsters (bagganes?) might drop them too?
it's a summons ignore enemies episode
i think the stagfather shrines give those as rewards
They do, I meant a renewable source though
My summons seem to ignore every boss that turns hostile after dialogue, I have to resummon them in the middle of combat while dodging the boss.
What would've made the game better:
verticality
There's a lot of cool castles and giant monuments and shit, those are cool environments, I wish we had enemies who could jump up/down ledges and I wish the player could grab ledges and such, maybe give him a super jump power of some sort later, that could've opened up earlier inaccessible locations
traps
I don't mean annoying shit with "press E to disarm", but some traps would've at least added more depth to the dungeons
cosmetic/transmog system
There's a ton of cool armors some of which are trash mechanically or you don't have stats for them because you specced differently. Would've been cool to just use outfit system to look however you want and that would've incentivized searching for more armor pieces even not for your "class"
What's the deal with the ghost of the miller's daughter in act 2? No quest no nothing? So much shit in this game feels like it just exists for the sake of it.
Is dual wielding fun? Can you ragdoll enemies with it? I run 2h atm and it's quite fun but I always like to go dex in RPGs
So much shit in this game feels like it just exists for the sake of it.
nothing wrong with a bit of that now and then
the goblins in act 3 drop them sometimes
Do I really have to get hit to increase armour stats?
The fuck?
meet and chat with arthur's sisterwife
still doesn't wanna talk
alright fine big guy keep it in, stay silent
How else you're supposed to improve it?
Red death tree is kinda mid. I mean, they're strong on paper, but at this point in the game I have 50 armor and 230% melee damage, no attack is gonna take near to 25% of my HP and lament takes to long to become consequential
How the fuck is this game from a literally who developer more fun and good than any shit Obsidian and Bethesda put out in the last decade?
I'm only in act 2, but the expensive fireball spell, Merlin thorns, and the ice shotgun one still melt everything to the point I don't want to keep playing because there's no challenge and a few quests broke, so I'm afraid of having a bricked save
haven't found a single new cooking recipe in the whole act 2 so far and i have been here for hours
When does this get good
I just walk backwards spam fireball everything dies
at the end of the crow questline you get a dagger that poisons.
Are there seriously only two blood spells in the game or did I just happen to miss all of them? I only encountered the one you get in the tutorial and a corpse explosion spell.
There's another in the Blood Lake dungeon. I'm not sure about any more after that.
use the teleport stone to go back to cuneach after a lovely evening with my wife alisa
immediately get propositioned outta nowhere by the ballbusting kamelotian legion quartermaster lady
bros... the scent thing is real
Playing single weapon duelist sword is honestly a lot more fun than 2h
What cave is the one where you find her husband hiding? Haven't found him yet this time.
The Miner Cave, probably the first one you went to at the start of the game.
This UI is disgusting. Bland squares and flat backgrounds are unfit for fantasy. They didn't even try parchment or polished stone and that's already cheap.
Gotta go fast!
finally one shot everything in Horns
beef gate in Cruawhateverthefuck it's spelled
On the bright side I finally got gud and learned how to parry. These red death guys seem like foreshadowing though
Was Arthur at the end as Hob supposed to be some kind of meta commentary about how the Arthurian myth has been reinterpreted so many times over the centuries?
Holy fuck the smuggler's cave on the east coast is huge. Is there a quest connected to it? Should I return later for it or should I Just go in and explore?
Can't you respec, do a "money run", then respec back?
Copper and iron veins seem to respawn, but do meteor veins respawn as well or can you only get a finite amount of meteor ore in a playthrough?
Trying to make a spellsword, but it seems pointless to dual wield 1h + magic. I just end up using a dual wield magic set until I'm out of mana, then switch to sword and shield. Also the shield seems pointless unless you like blocking, which seems to be a worse option than parrying or dodging.
Also, I want to use heavy armor, but the -30% move speed (and an additional -25% from not being able to use the travelers set from orlaith) is way too crippling.
Yep. It's a pretty great move. Used 2 origin potions to get almost 2 million gold (and it's more like 1, I wanted to respec to undo some perks that turned out to not be that good anyway)
is it true that when you respec you lose all your shrine bonuses
Just sacrifice all of your HP bro.
How the fuck do you leave the Queen Bee's domain? There's no portal back
in this house we RESPECT kamelotian short kings
nevermind I'm retarded
So is blood tranfusion the closest thing we have to dark magic?
Im not sure what to build, initially wanted to go fist but it seems kinda ass?
Do the guards know that they never have arrows in their quivers?
It'd be nice if I could actually see the stack number.
the horse can swim
is there any other game that does that?
Oblivion, Skyrim
quest NPCs tell you terrible things will happen if you continue the quest
you do it
terrible things happen
Game loves to do this for some reason
Skyrim right?
Don't kill too many
why not?
Small things come from bigger things, fuck around and find out
killed the crabs when i first came to act 1, and went to that little island near the beach, but dunno what are you talking aboot
RDR2
Did Caeulum really make 20 notes or do they just jump? I'm about to grab some dryad titty but I'm hesitating because I might be missing some research notes
act 2
corrupted temple
bad guy just says oh I wasn’t actually bad bye now :)
much less unique loot and reason to explore
quests are sometimes bugged or just flat out boring
push through it
act 3
haven’t even found a blue item
dungeons exist for no reason, no loot or drive to explore them
quests are often bugged
you can skip the entire act anyways
I don’t even want to finish what a fucking nosedive in quality from segremar castle and act 1 as a whole
get into conversation
keep wondering why I'm hearing Doomguy grunts
my character is standing on top of the campfire
fuck
Most satisfying weapon so far?
1.4 gigabyte patch just came out on steam
I just got softlocked by the guy in the prison standing over a bunch of bodies, force quit and got the update
Im gonna guess the bug fixes are here
Greatsword and Greataxe for me.
Greatsword feels especially meaty and has some really nice sound effects. It feels heavy as fuck and hits hard. It also ragdolls enemies with certain attacks and it's executes are particularly nice. I really enjoy the Mordhau Grip Execute where you turn your sword around and slam the guard into the neck.
Unfortunately Shield just feels like utter shit in comparison. Shield Bash doesn't stagger enemies anywhere near enough. There is no charge attack with a shield giving you some cool shield rush tackle. Block is just worse Parry in every single way, especially since even with 20+ Endurance and Armor that adds Stamina, I still have Stamina issues fighting against most bosses while using a Shield even fully spec'd into the Shield tree. Plus, I still take loads of damage on bosses through my block. Meanwhile I can just put on some Gloves with Increased parry time and suddenly my parry lasts two seconds making it Block but actually good.
Corrupted Temple shitkicks Smegmar.
lure people in with a very well crafted 20 hour act 1
get lazy and fuck everything up in the next two low effort acts because they can’t refund it anymore anyways
it honestly feels like they just pushed it out of the door. anyone still praising this game hasn’t made it out of act 1 yet
I don't see it. Patch notes???
this is busted with the spirituality perk that gives you spell power multiplier equal to your movement speed buff
Act 1 was 10/10. Act 2 was 9/10. Act 3 is the outlier here.
Corrupted temple was probably the single worst resolution to a quest I’ve played in a rpg
awesome presence and vibe
sexy evil priestesses everywhere
haunting music
great fight against a corrupted member of the round table
but wait that actually wasn’t the big boss
fight some random worm
the big boss the round table knight warns you about just says “oh im actually not evil btw im just misunderstood byeeeeeeee” and teleports away
next to no explanation or reasoning as to why
no option to even side with the knight that was stabbed by this creature
all of that build up was for a neon blue worm boss that died in 4 hits
Unironically some of the worst writing ive seen in a rpg
What the fuck is going on here. The quest log doesn't tell me what to do. Should I kill one of them? The quest pointer points to the bridge where I came in but there is nothing there.
Char 1 - Mage lvl15
Char 2 - Assassin lvl 6
Char 3 - Warrior (tried unarmed, no damage. tried two handed, too slow. tried one handed with shield, fine. like dashing too much to enjoy heavy armour) lvl 6
Nothing in the eventviewer, but seeing as it only happened when running tainted grail, I feel like it would be really strange if it was a hardware issue. I did run furmark just in case and it passed without any issues.
Wait, can you show this faggot shit from the island to prove Red Priests are wackos doing torture for shits and giggles? I guess I didn't pick up a few books there that I should have.
You need to kill one of them to get the gate to appear.
Lol they could have spent all the time they put into act 2-3 on adding more fleshed out content in act 1 and it would have been amazing. Could've easily had at least 20 more hours of stuff to do. I find it funny how after you're done with mostly everything there, you get additional missions to "reclaim" areas by clearing out more bandits even though it's pretty much pointless story-wise.
I got mine from a wyrd-gacha box. No idea where it is as a pick up now since it's no longer in the cave where it used to be.
gold is actually useful due to the upgrade system
unless you put points into practicality then selling items is almost pointless because the gold-per-weight ratio is very low
if you put too many points into practicality then it breaks the game in the most straightforward way possible
They really missed the mark on that aspect of the game, considering how much time you spend spelunking and killing shit for loot
I gave him the letter from the dead priest at the asylum coast. He took it, told me he didn't believe the priest that wrote it and that was it.
you need also notes near the dead woman and child at island asylum
She's Arthur's sister and immortal. She thinks they are nuts actually
unarmed basically requires the heavy gloves you get from up north near the door to act 2
when you do have them and upgrade them a few times it starts doing pretty nutty damage however
went practicality because I saw Armor and Crafting was in that skill tree
no weapon scales with it
level 20 now
every fight is a chore
I do barely any damage
t-thanks
Just respec, up to you if you abuse practicality to make a few million gold first
It's the early access curse.
You never show your act 3 so that there is something to hook people in for release which means early access only includes act 1 and 2.
This causes act1 and 2 to not only get the most polish(and testing), but also get the most amount of content to keep people interested during the early access process.
Every modern Larian game has had this problem. Great act 1, good act 2, dogshit act 3
Brotherman just complained about one Act 2 main quest choice needing 15 levels in one attribute and said 10 would be enough. Devs immediatelly answered to him in chat and said next week patch drops it to 10 kek
Strength barely boosts your damage. A measly 1% per point. Dexterity has a much higher effect on your dps with 4% attack speed per point.
Most of your damage comes from gear / gear effects and perks.
I just got like 2 levels from clearing the Sunken Village beach of wyrdspawns, holy shit this is a good grinding spot.
love that spells trigger sneak attacks
He's probably right, every single quest in act 1 had those stat requirements way too high, I never got to do any of them.
Changed Arcanist's Sword Damage Gain per upgrade level: 21 1.,
LMAO, NERF'D
I thought I could open these doors now or is this different?
The game is clearly not in 1.0 state. I'll wait for the "definitive edition"
Where are the patch notes?
There's literally a shield drawn on the panel, do you have the shield?
I think they released them on discord first (lmao 2025) but someone on the Steam forums pasted them
Oh is that a key? I don't know about any shield. I've just been exploring.
Thanks
Galahad or the tribes?
Wish there was a scythe weapon
oof
why can't i dual wield her swords, fucking bullshit
I've been playing for 5 hours. Don't be fooled, the game is garbage
I went with the Tribes because I liked them. I liked my little fight with the lady out the front of the Tribe and after I beat her, she showed me respect and was actually friendly. I enjoyed how I got all of their respect through nothing more than strength.
I even gave Galahad a chance but he opens with talking about killing people for nothing. So I killed him for the same reason.
armor set is entirely based around dual wielding
the boss dual wields
her weapons are two greatswords, of which you cannot dual wield
??????????
tfw wanting to wear some of the slutty priestess gear, but the queen gear has waaaaaay better stats
I hope there's some decent caster gear in act3 as well.
Galahad is a fun villain character, I wish he was more present in Act 1.
I'm here to kill you
Marvelous!
Bro there isn’t shit in act 3
All you'll find in A3 is coin + food.
It feels like they were gonna have stat distribution at the start pretty deep into development and all the requirements were decided at a time when you wouldn't start with everything at 1. Then they changed it last minute but forgot to reduce the prerequisites.
reduce your gear's weight by... adding metal to it
I'm doing an unarmed build, what's the best armors you guys have found for it so far? The Revenant gear seems pretty good, it has %melee and weak spot damage. I'm guessing anything with crit% will be great as well.
alchemist made a deal with some fae
alchemist lies to me in the hope I kill them
save and make a deal with them instead
they don't give me my trinket afterward because someone else killed the alchemist
Never making a deal with Fae again. More like Faeberg. Faestein. Total Fae Death.
I got the crown
Still no option to talk to Arthur since the end of act 1
Guys I think I'm going go to skip the rest of act 3 and go for a random ending.
Once a few patches come out I'll try again I guess.
fellers how do i get better performance? i'm getting 50 fps but it's barely using my gpu
Not a bad intrepretation, but I mostly just got the feeling he was tired of being born again and again only to fail.
Also it's just the human part of Arthur's soul, without duty, ambition etc so he really can't see the big picture and is just selfishly wishing for a final death
Anglo Saxon armor doesn’t look like your picture. Look at Rohan from LOTR, they are Anglo Saxon modeled.
Arthur was a Briton, not an Anglo Saxon.
King o' the 'oo?
attack guard
for his armor
execute him
fall through the floor
fall into an ocean
look down
endless abyss
Well king Arthur was probably fighting the anglo saxons so it kinda fits for the enemy
Sick thanks
Will you eventually go into the smuggler's mine as part of the main quest? I went in there and the boss in there, specifically his mole rate pet, kills me in 2 hits and takes really little damage. I'm level 16 with 11 strength and 6 endurance.
Wyrd means fate for the gemanics.
game is cpu bound. settings do nothing. look for a dxvk mod
YOU SHOULD'VE PAID THE FINE
>Your Shield Bash doesn't do that, in fact, it doesn't really do fucking anything.
Doesn't it stop any fucking attack charge-up if you hit it at the right time
Seems like the game strategy is to be a flavor of a summoner build for crowd control against multiple enemies and easy boss fights. Tried to do a two handed heavy knight build with top armor but I'm still getting my ass kicked by bears
yes it does
Can i fuck her?!?!
Is there any nudity in this game?
I will only buy it if there is.
The anglo saxons did not wear scale armor...
Yes, but it's just a fade to black.
Buggane?
Does Arthur approve of Fae fucking if she's cute?
Tried to do a two handed heavy knight build with top armor
how are you struggling with the second best build in the game? It starts off crushing everything on Vet and just gets better and better
Yes but anglo saxon armor should exist in the game because Arthur fought against them. (Allegedly)
Pic related is Arthur's period briton armor.
Devs please nerf this broken item wtf
Garbage. I wanted to take her ass and retire on the coast. Also put a window in that shitty mansion.
Hircine?
I have never played a good game with this modernized minimalist cookie cutter UI, it means it is completely devoid of soul and the devs had zero creative vision
D R O P P E D
Is it true this game is boring AF unless you do magic
No, he's in Act 3.
No
Jesters boots makes you so fast that any movement at all turns your attack into a lunging sprint attack.
lol
Kill stagfather
Get nothing
lame
Don't parry there slam. Everything else about them is easy to parry or dodge. I'm doing exactly that build on Hardcore. It's probably the most safe build in the game. You do absurd damage so the 6% Life Leech is insanely powerful.
See
I barely even play the game tactically anymore. I barely dodge, barely parry. Just heavy attack into everything and survive.
Dagonet's tomb
fun
25 results
I am having so much fun.
Do i side with Galahad? I don't give a fuck about some retarded rebels(one eye seems cool but fuck the captain) and am an Authur loyalist. Like seriously who decides to start a civil war when the wyrd is consuming everything.
Like seriously who decides to start a civil war when the wyrd is consuming everything.
sides with the guy causing the Wyrd to go out of control
kek
Clownsuit is unironically the most OP reward in the game.
The doublet is a huge amount of free damage, and the boots let's you zip past anything.
If you have the cheese spell, it's easy to drop your HP to a low enough value to get the speed boost along with enough cheese to make a bunch of high level food items (3x cheese).
Where's the kitchen located again in the city in thesouth? I remember going there but I can't remember where it was. I need to buy an onion to get to the druid ritual up north
it has ps2 textures in first person
SOVL
does magic benefit from weak spot bonus?
Can I kill caradoc at the start so he doesnt soulstab my ass or is that scripted?
What the fuck is weak spot bonus? I'm in act 2
hitting monsters in their weak spot, raised by Practicality stat
Is he?
Find the cave in the blood lake really early on
Talk the weird dude in there
Dialogue options pop up
10 Str for one, 10 Spirit for the other
Immediately assume I'm too low leveled for this area
Everything is a complete pushover, with the boss being the only thing slightly troubling
Dunno. But a few people said that in Act 1.
How is the green knight oneshotting me even though I have like 50% armor.
Just lie to him retard. Did you seriously tell him you met king arthur when you don't even know who he is?
fairly sure it does, try hitting zombies in the head at the start and it's noticeable
read Tibby's codex entry
feel remorse
I wasn't planning on graverobbing little Tibby, I'm sorry
Hmm well i guess idk what to do
Yes.
50% armor
What's your actual armor rating? And how much health do you have?
Luckily this one is decent.
Both he and Gawain are utterly ridiculous and the hardest fights I've had in the game. They're fucking anime characters.
Great; I just really needed an excuse to drop 5 or so points in Pract. as my mage before moving over to Perception. 50% more selling price is excellent, but actually getting some damage makes it worth it
I killed him and the barbarian to level up 5 times out of the gate.
So are these worthless bros? The stamina bar hardly moves at all, and I never see a stun ever. Arcane mark seems good so I'll need to keep the stam talent to get to it but I feel like I should respec to claim the stun talent on the left side at least
they're already engoodening it
Why did they tie sell price so hard to practicality? Only getting 10% of the value by default is fucking ridiculous
where do i turn the bandit symbols from act 2? the deserter from kamelot insignias or whatever they are called?
yeah its very stupid, what i want in my adventure epic game is to have to go jewing merchants, retarded choice
The word is silent Quest just doesn't fucking work. I cant find a way to deliver this shitty letter.
engoodening
act 2 and 3 need an entire loot revamp. little patches like this aren't going to save it.
A Kamelot officer right near the entrance to the main town
they wanted a merchant 'stat' that actually does something, and this massively increased gold income, lowers stam and magic costs, and adds a ton of headshot damage
Am I ever going to find a better spell than the charged fireball or thunder? Halfway through act 2 right now.
WTF? This place is 100ft from the start of act 1, the requirements for these dialogue choices are fucking stupid.
It's basically at the starting area, I think they are meant to be kind of easy
corrupted temple
those half naked priestesses
SEX
SEX WITH PRIESTESSES
It doesn't even give you anything useful if you have those stats
Fists are a meme build again arent they?
only 4 nodes
lool find 15 of these fucking berries
go fuck yourself
where do i turn the bandit symbols from act 2?
need to exhaust the conversation with the 2 dal riata guys near the entrance to the zone in the south.
they say they are huinting derserters and tell you the deal they have with the legate
This, I should be able to bend her over the railing and assfuck her for the trouble she put me through. Then make her love me as i put some kids in her womb
Attack speed influences casting speed?
