There's enough shitters in 12/13/13x/14/15/16/19/22 if we're talking about maps where Eliwood is mandatory or likely to be deployed due to a lack of anyone better to gain levels. Especially with 7's defend map fetish, so you're in no real hurry and can afford to do stuff like work on Eliwood/Hector C or whatever.
Lyn is the one that's actually difficult to raise if you really want Geitz for whatever reason in that run.

I’ve never been able to make it all the way through Engage. Honestly, a big part of that is the protagonist’s toothpaste hair. It's just hard to take seriously. I’m also not a fan of summoning legacy characters it feels like a greatest hits gimmick more than a fresh story. And the art style? It's too similar to something like Genshin Impact.

Kagetsu is overrated because of his stats. I watched someone do a 2-year anniversary run of the game with minimal restrictions (basically just no DLC), and he did a lot of the 'early meta' memes including Dire Thunder sage Citrinne and giving basically every early unit canter. Even though he wanted to use Kagetsu as part of his main team, he ended up being largely useless simply for not having canter, because he couldn't keep up or position well for big plays. It was an interesting thing to witness.
