I told y'all Japanese devs can't innovate and you seethed at me. Who's right now?

Miyazaki is a fucking hack and you sloppers are slopping up an asset flip

Miyazaki.png - 919x883, 1.24M

well, he innovated once and then decided to just release the same shit every year and smell his own farts. miyazaki is basically most bands after they had their break through.

Otaku low-key dislike Miyazaki because he's a pretentious hypocrite. A talented one but still.

What did he do this time?

same yaas girl slaaay protag with same fart style

Glad AI is putting him out of business.

Wrong miyazaki OP

Both of them appeal to troons.

Otakus have no sense of taste so they'll endlessly seethe at film GODyazaki.

miyazaki when otaku idealize anime girls

:(

miyazaki when making yet another headstrong plucky young girl protagonist who's a little tomboyish and abrasive but has a heart of gold, and also she pilots a cool aircraft and loves nature

:)

from the creator of the "vague interpretive fandom hypothesis/speculation" genre of media from which souls games get their grift

Japs hyperfocus on one part of their life

try to recreate it over and over again to obtain their true vision of it

Nothing wrong with that, buster.

Miyazaki is closeted otaku. He dislikes otaku's because they remind him of himself. He gets upset when fans obsess over his female characters, especially dislikes lolicons. But he occasionally slips up during interviews. Do you think Nausica's breasts are very attractive? Miyazaki emphatically agrees. Maybe there's a reason why 70% of his film protagonists are young female characters.

hasn't graduated past high school social studies-tier understanding of the world

I mean
I get treasuring innocence and nature and all that
but at some point you just start to sound like a whiny faggot

He looks like colonel sanders

The biggest issue with Jap devs is that they make some really good gems but geolock it.
And then when Tencent makes the same game and it's a massive success worldwide, they start seething over >hurr durr muh dishonoaru copy.

That's goes to other media as well, like how they love to paywall their sports even though literally everyone else now streams for free on Youtube.

See the joke is that much like how Dark Souls 2 is hated by normalfags, even though Hidetaka Miyazaki loved it, Hayao Miyazaki is hated by otaku even though he views Hideaki Anno, creator of several of the most beloved pieces of otaku media, Evangelion, Gunbuster, Daicon IV, etc. as something akin to a son, and a true successor of his craft.

Well, you have credit card processors strangling the Japanese market. So they have to geo-lock their content. I can no longer access loli games on DLsite.

kek

But seriously, both Miyazakis are geniuses.
It's a pity old Miyazaki is against AI, because his work is so well loved that people just want to emulate his stuff.
Also, people still fail to realise how much of an influence Hayao and Ghibli was on Hidetaka Miyazaki and Fromsoft.
With Elden especially. It does feel a little like Ghibli at times. I guess they did that because they realised it was kinda missing from things like Zelda. Ghibli gone horror. Though Ghibli was pretty spooky too.

He dislikes otaku's because they remind him of himself.

Nah, he is a hack who wanted to be le japanese Walt Disney but missed out on the opportunity when other studios became more big and profitable. Faggot is just salty.

Daicon IV

Its sad Gainax filed for bankruptcy

Its probably why Miyazaki gives Disney the distribution rights to all his films

based noticer

It's a pity old Miyazaki is against AI, because his work is so well loved that people just want to emulate his stuff.

Having a model shit out copies of his art style on to things like piccolo fucking vegeta is not "emulating" his stuff. More of akin to an insult of his work compared to someone drawing or trying to draw in his artstyle

he's being retarded. ESLs love using motte-and-bailey when trolling is involved.

He's a bit like walt disney, but without any trace of his friendly and charming public persona.

He can pull it off momentarily but then he opens his mouth and says the world isn't worth saving because LOTR is fascist or some other stupid abrasive nonsense. He's terminally blackpilled over really dumb shit almost no one fully agrees with.

I always forget zoomers have no knowledge of WW2 and can't understand why grandpa is upset half of the time.

You could counter that by saying even the tallest of giants are but flawed individuals. Even if someone is in a position of authority and they endorse something. That doesn't mean they are right. I personally think Dark Souls II is fun to play but I still think the experience is inferior to I and III.

If you weren't raised on the internet then the bulk of your opinions on WW2 were probably formed in holocaust class or by schindlers list. Zoomers were probably the first generation to fully break free.

That's because Japanese banking system is worse than literal third world countries.

Money transfering there is a fucking chore while in the rest of the world you can simply use an app.

Not all users are doing that.
A bit of prejudice there just because some people like making THANKS DOC in Ghibli form.

Some are just kids having fun though. I don't like how he promotes himself as someone "opening the imagination" when he's so hard on people trying to use AI to make what they want - i.e. use their imagination despite having limited skills in some areas.
All I see are people desperately holding onto their leveraged sacred cow position as animators if that's the case. Is this the culture that makes good content? One of DRM? No. Of course not. Otherwise Ghibli wouldn't exist. Animation is an incestual thing.

I understand where your coming from especially and I would say he should be cultivating a more positive attitude for the future animation but having people use a model and play a game telephone to approximate what they want is not "using their imagination" It's counter productive and all you would be doing is getting better at prompting instead of picking up a pencil

I wouldn't say that.
It's a good introduction to basic aspects of visual art.
But the pencil is muscle memory, that requires more than prompting. AI struggles with penmanship in 2D.
For some reason, it does 3D way better (likely it was made for this reason - probably for military purposes or something like deepfakes).

Miyazaki was a lolicon and an otaku in denial. His supposed hatred of otakus stems from a fear of being implicated with otaku culture, which was seen as weird and nonconformist even in the 80's. It's performative and done entirely for optics. It doesn't help that an otaku serial killer (also coincidentally named Miyazaki) made the rounds in the late 80's for killing and raping 4 little girls.

The media labelled the serial killer an otaku simply because the guy was a shut in. Be he wasn't actually an otaku. The guys room was filled with hundreds of CP video tapes.

I can understand wanting to disassociate with the label due to the perception directed towards otaku at the time. But that was then and this is now. The Japanese government created the cool japan initiative. Recognizing the cultural relevant of anime and manga

They also lose it that’s when the you try something else.

I have never been on the side of fromslop, even when rollsloppers were riding high on normies praising their dumbed down game their favorite streamer told them is totally awesome. The only fromslop game i have played and ever will have played is King's Field 3

No you're probably thinking of the other guy

Miyazaki.jpg - 1200x803, 190K

The Japanese way is to reuse and recycle. Some people like it if the formula is good, some don't. That's the way it is. Some people like eight Yakuzas, "girl-aerial bombardment-happy ending" stuff, replaying the same game six times for the proper ending, some don't. I don't have any strong opinions about all that, but I love shorter games since they don't get to have fillers.

Since it's a Anon Babblemblr outpost thread anyway, post your personal best Miyazaki work that isn't Spirited Away.

y'all

American cant english lmao.

I know it's the normalfag answer, but nothing has been able to top Princess Mononoke for me.
