Still no (good)games based on ATLA universe

still no (good)games based on ATLA universe

what gives?

ATLA universe is shit.

the what

it's been well over a decade since Korra came out and shat all over every thing, and Americans hate spending serious money on what they think is kiddy bullshit

I heard 4et was good, but I only played back when there were only 2 books

I want a game about Zuko and Soka impregnating their sister

4et

bro that's literally a porn game

WHAT??

That game sucks. Only the Katara portion is okay, the humor is trash, and all of it is for below average porn.

You meant to say "each other's sister", right? You aren't just subtly implying double incest in this Christian board?

Cursed IP. It's unsalvageable

RPG or MMORPG based on this magic system is literally untapped potential, I wonder why no one is catching on

no, nigger
Zuko impregnating Azula
Sokka impregnating Katara with triplets

wtf is ATLA?

"OH MY DIFFERENT COLOURED SQUIGGLY SWIRLY LINES!"

Because, in canon, the powers are shown to be separate from the martial arts that made it interesting in the first place, so they're no different from Marvel powers. Why even bother?

124961992_p0.png - 1400x2000, 3.42M

there never will be, either. you can only go a few directions with it:
1. "character action" game - they tried this, it was shit.
2. RPG - mite b gud if you get larian or some other company that actually makes RPGs to make it, but you know they won't do that. an ARPG could be interesting but you just know they'd fuck it up.
3. fighting game - nobody will play this, it'll get obscured by other games like street fighter, tekken, soul calibur, hell even smash bros and dbz fighterz will obscure it.
4. some kind of the walking dead adventure book style "game" aka telltaleslop - mite b gud idk but it's hardly an actual game.

because its boring

the martial arts that made it interesting in the first place

exactly this, so maybe action game that you have to do combo shit to actually fire your element might work?

RPG

Maybe it could work if you chose a random Avatar far in the past, but then you miss out on fan appeal with the recognizable characters.

some kind of the walking dead adventure book style "game" aka telltaleslop - mite b gud idk but it's hardly an actual game.

Personally, I'd only want that if it was about Korra, so they can rewrite it as whatever they want that's hopefully better than the bullshit that's canon.

Isn't this a cartoon for little kids?
Must be 18 to post here

ATLA universe

Because it giga sucks and the franchise is dead after they made Korra lez out entirely out of spite

Lava?

lava is molten rock bro
actually it gets me thinking, can waterbenders only bend liquid with h2o in it? what about liquid mercury? can earthbenders bend it? it's liquid metal

it canon, the only liquid with H2O in it they could bend was blood, and even then it was when they were powered up by the moon or a freak of nature like the bloodbenders in Korra
also Katara bended her sweat one time

Well then they did a piss poor job of communicating that, because I can't remember anyone doing any elemental stuff with getting kung fu-ey.

weak bait

But where is the heat to melt the rock coming from?

what gives

I swear to christ, if i have to read this fucking shitneck retard expression one more time

chicken

it's the same as waterbenders turning water to ice. You're just changing the state of matter of the earth as you have full control over the earth itself

getting this mad over something so benign

what gives?

there's a GBA one that's not bad

The universe itself is fine, but it was lightning in a bottle and no one knows how to manage it, especially not the creators, who've proven time and again that atla was a fluke

mmo type game with everyone choosing a nation and playing in an all-out war where they fight for territory. Naturally created story guided by the devs but ultimately controlled by the player's input, sith natural alliances being formed, potential civil wars and new nations being created, etc. Game's server is effectively reset completely after a certain amount of time or when one faction becomes the obvious winner to keep things fresh and intresting. Winner faction gets bragging and shitpost rights

hero's journey narrative action adventure game following a never before mentioned Avatar's life journey of training and dealing with his world's problems

classic 2d fighting game with any and all characters from the series

more experimental fighting game following the gameplay style of sifu and absolver, but obviously with bending implemented as moves

top down strategy game directing a war as blah blah blah

There is pleanty of potential
The people who own the IP are creatively bankrupt tho so nothing good will ever be made

lava

spirir shit

redirection

That last one is just retarded because they couldnt think of a third one to slot into fire

I only play games with female protagonists if they are visually pleasing.

Redirection was based on water bending techniques

yeah I played it, it was barebones. it reused a lot of boss fights and was quite short. overall underwhelming.

korra.webm - 768x432, 3.83M

Why was Korra so shit bros? It was literally made by the original creators so you can't say it was some corporate meddling bullshit. Compared to ATLA the ideas were just so much worse.

I think Nickelodeon was interfering behind the scenes which didn't help. They ordered a 1 mini season, then they extended it, then they cancelled it, then they brought back for online only and didn't air it on TV etc.

Korra could have had a good video game to save its dogshit series

instead its mediocre at best just like her series

honestly, fitting

The mtg set will revive the series, trust the plan.

bottom left looks like amgous and no one is saying anything

They decided they would just let everyone get fire bending for some reason, I bet we'll have Water benders who can boil water next.

Perhaps the creators had too much freedom or there were other people on their previous team that were able to tell them "no".

Avatar already started having shit like that since korra. There isn't much else they can do to really harm it that way.

I'm still pissed we never got that wind sword Aang mentioned, not even in Korra which was loaded with fanfiction tier bending concepts.

establish four countries with distinct cultures, fighting styles, values etc.

throw it all out for fantasy america

this poster is sus I saw him vent in med

did any airbender ever use temp regulation?

why is Earth green and Air yellow and not reverse?

I think the guys involved didn't want to see their franchise turned into spongebob. I don't have cable tv anymore but at some point nickelodeon became "the spongebob channel" which implies to me that the suits would have pulled a ubisoft and ran anything moderately successful into the fucking ground until they could squeeze out every last single drop.

they were afraid of that so they deliberately made it shit. it's either that or ATLA was lightning in a bottle and the original creators are hacks who got lucky.

probably based on the color scheme of air monk clothes (yellow/orange) and earth citizen/guard clothes (green/brown)

those are the colors of the nations. in the earth kingdom, they wear green, the capitol of ba sing se is a magnanimous city of jade, which is the color of opulence in the earth kingdom. conversely, the air nomads of the air temples wore orange and yellow robes, similar to tibetan monks.

sorry meant for as for temp regulation I don't think so, maybe once like combustion
kinda cool that lightning bending became more common and jump-started the industrial revolution tho

In retrospect the cracks were already showing as far back as Book 3 of the original series.

1. There are no good video game adaptations, your favorite franchise isn't special.
2. Post-ATLA media has killed any potential for games with original stories taking place after ATLA. The potential for original stories taking place before ATLA is also limited.
3. Most fans are low IQ and aren't interested in the world or power system, they just want the same thing again. They want Aang and Zuko and Toph all over again, they don't want anything new, they just want you to tell the old story again - and there's no way of doing that and having it actually be as good as the original story, because you already saw the original story. It's a waste of time. It's one of those things where you give audiences what they ask for and they end up hating it.

I distinctly remember firebenders using fire to regulate their body temperature in the cold, so I don't see how such an ability would be exclusive to air benders anyway, unless this is to imply that they can regulate temperature under any conditions.

ATLA speedrun being Star Wars just like Rick & Morty speedrun being Zombie Simpsons.

original stories taking place before ATLA is also limited

you have like a thousand years between the first avatar and Aang and you say we don't have much potential?

lightning bending became more common and jump-started the industrial revolution

I think it's them playing with the air molecules, making them move faster or slower in a convection current of their control around their bodies

that's just how the Fire nation is. They have tanks and airships in Aang's time

Reminder the comics have also retroactively ruined the ATLA universe as well

I know most people hate everything to do with Republic City, but personally I'd like to see a GTA clone set there focusing on the triads.

Genshin does it for me, although I'd love a proper ATLA game

Did you not see those fire nation ships in Book 1?

airman.jpg - 419x351, 61.12K

Shit like this is the worst (your picture). Autisms with lukewarm IQs trying to take something creative and force it into a structure that only sort of maybe fits. People bend the four elements. There are things you can do with a power like that which isn't obvious at first. That's it. There are no perfectly symmetrical "sub-bending techniques" or whatever the fuck this is. I hate people like this, they make power systems look worse.

With the original series, they had a cool idea and then worked with other talented people to bring it to life. With Korra, they just did whatever they wanted, and "whatever they wanted" wasn't a bunch of good ideas.

They also probably couldn't get a show greenlit without it being Avatar and I think that might've made them bitter. You see this with a lot of sequels/remakes nowadays where it almost seems like the original creator is trying to destroy their own creation.

I remember liking some of the games from like 15 years ago when I was a kid. They were probably shit, but to a kid they were great.

Zhao fried.webm - 1280x576, 3.29M

other than the bending
fire nation has industry
air nomads have their state of mind of pacifism and not being tethered to earthly ties

so far makes sense and on theme with their elements

what do water tribe and earth kingdom have?

There is potential, but you have to be careful about how the story/world ends up, because it can't be too, too different from how the world looks at the beginning of ATLA. There's also a technological worry. Players will probably want the tech level of the world to be the same as it was in ATLA, but if you want to tell a story with an Avatar we don't know, you have to go back like 700 years.

*this* is supposed to be the black and white sequence? fucking hell

I disagree on the third point, I think people are open to new things, but it has to be done right. korra was new, and people didn't hate korra just because it was new, they hated it because everything was off. the story was off. the setting was off. the protagonist was an arrogant overly confident moron, which ultimately made her unlikable. the antagonists were off, they failed to make them compelling (whereas big bad authoritarian imperialist state hellbent on world domination is very easy to understand, they made the mistake of trying to make the antagonists "deep" or nuanced and failed to pull it off). on top of this the made stupid decisions, like the retconning of the avatar's origin story and the origin of bending, not to mention they made the mistake of showcasing the limitations of the avatar state (korra got mogged by a competent but ordinary metal bender). it was all just so poorly executed.

finally, ATLA was a journey, a delving into an entire world brimming with life. every episode revealed something new about this world the characters inhabited. the world had interesting natural phenomena, and you got to see the various cultures of the four nations, and how their way of life was impacted by war. you got an idea of what it was like to live there, all of which hinged around the pressure of ultimately facing one's destiny. korra in comparison was much more concerned with korra the character. aang was important, sure, but he was one character in a world, whereas it feels like the whole world revolves around korra.

make something new, but do it right.

They don't need to "have something."
But I guess their buildings are made out of their bendables.

earth kingdom is huge and has the largest army, they were just a backwards mess by the time of the fire nation invasion plus I imagine they are the food basket of the world. They just have so much farming land

water tribe

same as eskimos in real life, nothing

Fucking masters of irrigation.

water eskimos as a whole live the most one-with-nature, being able to build a house wherever you go just from the ground is a nice bonus
earth people run the gamut between the feral-appearing swampbenders and the literal Han Dynasty going on at its capitol

what do water tribe and earth kingdom have?

ice fortresses and closer connection to the spirits, at least until the Fire Nation ships plapped the Southern Watern Tribe

it'd be easy for water tribe to have an industry around fishing, healthcare, and exporting sexy brown girls to the rest of the world.

sexy brown girls to the rest of the world

imagine them bending your blood to give you erection at will

avatar already stopped having shit like that

except they put fat girls in the live action version and they're recasting all the original VAs with asian people for the new cartoon movies they're making

kek this reminds me that the VA for Korra won't play her anymore because she says it needs to go to an eskimo VA lmao

son earth have strong fortresses and farming lands and water has adaptability and being able to live almost anywhere
yeah on theme

imagine a sexy brown waifu who literally enshrouds your entire body in a veil of water to help you get clean, making sure to get every nook and cranny with her water tentacles. no it's not gay to have your asshole rimmed and nipples flicked by a sexy brown water tribe girl's water tentacles. cleanest, most stimulating sex out of all nations.

who cares?
at this point, Korra only exists to be a vehicle for fit brown girl art and lets IAHFY make a living

The world is smaller than Antarctica, so it feels like it's been explored quite a bit already. There can still be new things, of course (and I hate how mainstream studios think sequels or spin-offs need to constantly up the stakes, we know from stuff like JJBA that you absolutely do not need to do that, you can tell really good stories that take place at the same time as bigger stories even just in some corner of the world that never got explored), I'm just saying they have to be careful.

And there's a difference between the original creators telling the next portion of the story in a canon sequel and some random video game adaptation. If someone says they're making an ATLA video game, most fans are going to be faggots and demand the original characters. You can tell me I'm wrong, but you see anons saying it in this very thread. Also, go make a One Piece or Hunter x Hunter or whatever thread and suggest an original story with original characters. You'll get fucking tarred and feather. People are mouthbreathers.

flooding the other nations with browns

01-06.jpg - 256x243, 12.01K

all Korra needed was some regular dickings and instead she chose the lesbian route and ruined herself in the process

It's for that reason that I don't even like talking about the series anymore. I got tired of mongoloids telling me it isn't "for me." It's shit now anyway, they can have it.

you have shit taste
also as a reminder for everyone else, half the time someone likes Korra, it's because they're black and they irrationally see Korra as being black despite all the canon details to the contrary

gay men have the lowest domestic violence rates

lesbians have the highest by far

They always say "what lack of pussy does to a motherfucker," but maybe they should be saying "what lack of dick does to a bitch."

being retarded on purpose

that's cool i guess

browns

only the women, just the women.

mindbroken.jpg - 225x224, 8.83K

The first one would get ruined within the first week by the discord mafia assuming direct control over everything.

she looks like Katara there, which begs the question of why you wouldn't just like Katara more

I think that’s supposed to be body temperature regulation, which is how Aang doesn’t freeze to death while wearing just his robes at the poles.

I know, but I am wondering if they ever used it, it has to be also viable beyond the body otherwise how would it be air bending?

I do like katara more. she's a kind and sweet but passionate person with a heart of gold. perfect wife material honestly. korra's got a hot body so she tends to get more fan art.

It says "started" not "stopped"

she looks like Katara there

pfff, last (You) you're getting from me

i can't recall it ever being used in the show but it's amusing to think of an Airbender essentially functioning as an HVAC unit

Korra tends to get more fanart

Because every black nerd on deviant art likes her because they think she's black, irrationally. Thank you for proving my point.

Katara is badass too, almost every time she faced Azula of all people she was the one winning

no I don't think that's the case. cool schizo theory, tho.

going to Deviant Art

no wonder you're retarded

"fanart"

You really need to take your meds

yeah I liked the water tribe part a lot but kept getting stuck in the fire tribe, really annoying to have to look up every step to figure out the arbitrary and unintuitive bullshit needed to progress

One of the primary writers, who was responsible for the most important parts- the character work, didn't return. The two faggorinos then couldnt be tardwrangled and they just came up with a ton of new ideas without caring about what it meant for the world or characters of the whole. Tons of canon retcons, retroactively making the previous characters "heckin complex heckin based it's so realistic that aang is a shitty father and toph is a slut"
On top of that they chose to start korra as a completely unlikeable cunt. This is fine if youre going to grow the character into being likeable, but they didnt do that until s4 where she became tolerable due to having her ass handed to her left right and center. Throughout most of the show she doesnt grow or change from that unlikeable persona, and when she does it LITERALLY happens on the flip of a switch when she meets Iroh in the spirit realm and he directly tells her "maybe you should stop being a fucking bitch all the time, korra" and she's like "yeah, youre right!" And the spirit world literally turns into sunshine and rainbows it's so fucking garbage man lmao
I still want to have gentle and passionate sex with korra and shove my tongue down her throat and stare into her bright blue water tribe eyes and feel her breath on mine as I cum deep inside her pussy while holding her hand with fingers interlinked(interlinked) and squeezing her breasts
And you gotta deal with that

I still want to have gentle and passionate sex with korra and shove my tongue down her throat and stare into her bright blue water tribe eyes and feel her breath on mine as I cum deep inside her pussy while holding her hand with fingers interlinked(interlinked) and squeezing her breasts

unfathomably based

Avatars writing minus Korra mogs anime slop so easily it's not even funny

For AtlA the creators had tardwranglers that kept them in check, which is why it worked so well in the first place.

Korra lost about half of writing staff that worked on the original ATLA. The lead writer for ATLA did not return for Korra.
Many people will say that Nick having them write the show on a per-season basis the biggest issue, but I think that is total bullshit. Korra's biggest issue that the meandering.
Take Season 1 for example. That runs for 12 episodes which, rounding each episode to 20 minutes, is about 4 hours worth of time to tell its story. Any decent movie can tell its story in 90 minutes to 2 hours. Korra sets up an interesting conflicts with the equalist and idea of non-benders being oppressed. This is a novel concept that the original ATLA never tackled. So logically, Korra should spend time addressing this conflict and develop the Avatar's role in this new setting in preparation for the final confrontation at the end of the season.
However, that is not what happens. Instead, Korra wastes your time with a contrived love triangle and fantasy volleyball. Time that should be spend fleshing out the main cast and what should the central conflict is wasted on this inane filler shit. Season 2 also has the same issue. This is mostly likely why Season 3 receives the most praise, because it is the tightest Korra's storytelling ever gets.

*ahem*
Sex with Korra.

Redirection is weird because not every firebender who can bend lightning can redirect and Zuko can't bend lightning but he can redirect.

make a new series with a sexy brown tomboy

she is completely unlikabale mary sue

wasted potential on a level unimaginable
