Yeah, pretty significantly when you compare the step counts for each milestone. This one is relatively still early in his life and yet has already caught up to Jr, asides from getting Flash. Doesn't get stuck in the same spots as long generally speaking. Still has retard moments but shakes out of them quicker, and for the most part he's better at figuring out what he needs to do.

Addressing cuttable trees is still an issue for him though, but one example of why this Claude is better is he can actualy use the underground tunnel to traverse from Vermillion to Cerulean, which is something the previous Claude struggled completely with. This guy gets that one on the first try.

But this version of Claude is actually a bit smarter than his own context cleaner in some ways, so you have Claude making sarcastic remarks about how he's deleting the notes claiming he's making "fundamentally incorrect assumptions" because it's negative and unhelpful.

A part of the LLM's brain is a vision layer. It's a neural network that has somehow encoded visual information in a general sense. I truthfully haven't had a lot of time to play since my last post so I'm still pretty early in the game but overall I would say it's worth it. I appreciate how it tries to put you in the game as an actual random trainer and not a chosen one main character. They did a good job of making everything feel more fleshed out and lived in. Gameplay wise it's been a good challenge so far. I'm not a competitive player though, so take that with a grain of salt. But I have had my ass kicked a lot more than in other pokemon games but I've never felt helpless.

It's super well made but fuck me if I can't get past the fakemons. I just can't stand fakes in general and it pisses me off because I want to get through more of the story/world.

I was there. It was originally uploaded to anonfiles which was extremely slow so OP made a torrent but the torrent was super slow as well.

I found many of the fakemons to be very well designed though. It's also refreshing to be in a world where you don't know any of the pokemon in any of the regions, you don't know their moves, you don't even know their types. It keeps things fresh having to learn about this new world. I think these fakemons have a certain charm and were all made with a purpose, and tons of various artists submitted them over the years. Even notorious fake leak fakemons were turned into real fakemons which is pretty cool.

There's no way Claude is getting into Route 9 when it can't recognize a tree. It took 30 hours to get out of Surge's yard because the enclosure takes 10 steps to walk, so given enough time, it would use cut.

Now the available map for him to walk is huge.

The 3D Pokemon entries just have a different fanbase from the 2D ones. All the people getting "back into" Pokemon checked out with gen 5 or 6, the competitive scene mcfucking died after those as well, and Anon Babble's activity sank like a stone. At first I played Blue with increased speed, then I decided to try a full bug team attempt on a romhack of White 2 (Bolt/Blaze or something), then I caved and bought Sword and Violet then played them one after the other. I'd given up on Pokemon games after playing Ultra Moon, seeing Sword and Shield really put me off. They looked so bad which is why I didn't bother but years later I guess I needed my fix and watching Claude triggered it

Right trigger for 4x speed is the best QoL feature that I've ever experienced for a Pokemon game. You don't have to use it all the time, but not being able to skip through the battle animations some of the time without turning them off completely is just dumb.

Pokemon Stadium allowed you to speed up the game for fuck's sake. I don't keep the speed up on all the time but it speeds up the monotony of a game chocked full of random encounters. Even many remakes of classic RPGs these days include speedup features. To punish the player for it is beyond stupid. Clover devs lost the plot.

i don't even get the idea that it'd cause mindless grinding because the game already has a counter in halving EXP once your pokemon gets to the next gym leader's ace and if you want to level up a new pokemon it has the modern EXP share if you want to do something like clear a route of trainers before training off stronger wild mons, i don't use speedup but it's not a good idea to just take it away entirely.

I'm hoping they'll walk it back because otherwise it will make replays very tedious. Although I also wouldn't be surprised if someone just takes the rom and edits it to allow speedup again because it's such a retarded stance to take

I have genuine ADHD that took until I was in my 30's to diagnose and being able to run old pokemon at 2x speed has been a godsend. It actually lets me focus on the game instead of getting bored and trying to distract myself.

To discourage mindless grinding to overcome challenges. The dev obviously wants to design the game in a way that challenges the player to teambuild and swap pokemon as they encounter new obstacles throughout the game, and anti-speedup facilitates that design philosophy without adding a hard level cap. With speedup you can just grind your team up 5 or 10 levels past the soft cap with relatively little time investment and breeze through any difficult battles. Squeetz seems to be of the opinion that a hard level cap is gayer than anti-speedup, and personally I agree.

Also, as an actual rebuttal to this, grindhaus (the only portion of the where grinding is ever needed) will not have anti-speedup. When you use speedup, the game lags like absolute shit, basically nullifying the speedup's purpose, and the lag continues until you stop using it.

Typically I hate when devs try to tell players how to play their game, but there's already a level cap anyway. So if you're grinding past the soft cap you're basically going into the hyperbolic time chamber to cheese the game.
Personally I agree with Squeetz there, adding a hard cap would just be annoying and hurt players who aren't abusing speedup, meanwhile players that did use speed-up aren't really losing anything because it has no purpose except trivializing the game for yourself.

Just to get through random encounters in general faster, faster movement. I use it all the time in just trainer battles to speed things up a little bit. I don't really do mindless grinding.

Once again, Pokemon Stadium let you speed up the game 3X-4X speed when you hooked up your GB games to the n64. Some people just want to whiz through it faster.

Yes, anons are currently debating an upcoming release of 2.0 Clover which makes a controversial change. Last update of the game is from two years ago and it's solid as it stands. The new version essentially serves as a sequel of sorts, rewriting the game entirely in a different engine. The original Clover is great, playing through it now.
