Are we ever getting a new Front Mission game?
Front Mission
The Front Mission series isn't dead
It's just... Left Alive™
was there anything made past Evolved? that sucked so much the game stop guy let me return it a week past their return policy time.
Evolved 2
No, because Square decided to outsource the remakes as cheaply as possible, so surprise surprise they are all flopping.
Gee guess nobody likes Front Mission!
Left Alive was a good game it just filtered people who were expecting Metal Gear Solid and instead got an actually challenging stealth game.
Left Alive and the 1-2 remakes
A new game, we are getting FM3 Remake... any time soon. Granted, FM1 and 2 Remake both sucked and are inferior to their counterparts.
If you mean a new original game, nope. Left Alive and Evolved made sure to kill any chances of that.
Overall, the Front Mission series is honestly not very good. So much wasted potential.
The gameplay ends up being too much RNG
mfw the upcoming remake of 3
holy shit, what was the budget for this? $300?
$300 and a doughnut.
How did the FM1 remake suck?
2 I'll give you, but the remake of 1 was actually quite good.
Not him but the art direction looked terrible compared to the SNES/DS versions and that's enough of a reason for me. I wouldn't be surprised if there were other problems with it.
you didnt buy the third person stealth shooter front mission so now the series is dead to them. good job
The DS remake I assume you mean? That was very good. You're insane if you mean the modern slop versoin
Is it true they fixes FM2R's translation? Is it worth playing at last?
that would be too much for pajeets
Are you high? Left alive sucked
FM needs a real good reimagining. These ultra slow and boxy mechs set in a bog-standard turn based strategy gameplay with next to no actually strategy just doesn't cut it anymore.
Yes, and kinda. It's still buggy, but much less so.
The Switch version is no where near as bad as people claim. It's literally just a 3d engine stuck over top of the original.
Left Alive was a good game
Filtered, go cry about it in your press X to takedown enemies with glaucoma simulator
Rank the (mainline) games
5 > 4 > 1(USN) > 2 > 1(OCU) > 3
Will we ever see 2089 and Alternative translations?
wasn't this suppose to be a FM game but Square pulled away from the project?

Is the switch remake of the second one any good? Initial reviews were bad but they cited a lot of bugs and those can be patched. It was a different team to the first one IIRC
which is why the NDS version is vastly superior. its a new game
Any front mission with the arena in it is fundamentally broken because it means you're always guaranteed infinite money to get all the best gear between missions. Never understood why the game had this feature it totally trivializes customizing your mechs.
Yes it was going to be a FM gacha, and now they're getting sued by SE by reusing assets without permission
Is it no longer a gacha?
Might be interested in it if so.
Also, lmao at the uber grimdark trailer while the portraits look like pic.
The only chance of a comeback for the series is to not shit the bed with the FM3 remake. After Meharashi's gachaslop the series will be forgotten by the last fans.
the remake somehow manages to look worse than a fucking SNES game
now they're getting sued by SE by reusing assets without permission
lmao really?
No way, lol
2 > 5 > 4 >> 1 >> 3
gun hazard is also cool
I haven't played 4 or 5 yet, but I would agree with the rest of your ranking. FM1(USN) is easily the best from what I've played so far.
I'm honestly conflicted about FM2. Even though it does a lot of great things and isn't completely brain dead unlike 1 and 3, having to trudge through so many menus for basic information is absolute horseshit. I literally played the entire game ignoring the "damage types" mechanic altogether, because the amount of menuing you have to do is atrocious.
The wanzer models take forever to load when setting up, and the story itself was a meandering slog as well. I can confidently say that 2 wasted my time like no other game in the series.
However, I will say that FM2's last mission is by far the best mission in the first 3 games. I honestly don't know where I would rank 2 overall.
To be fair, the SNES game looks great.
But yeah, the remake was utterly pointless.
there was an actual online front mission game
it was JP only
I'm still mad
Also by "FM2's last mission" I mean the last mission where you shut down the big superweapon, not the extra epilogue mission.
It is still the same game, gacha and all, just with no FM branding.

This looks just like an AC
Yeah, that's a good one. Having to stop the tank while it bombards you was tough, and trying to keep as many guys alive for the second half was intense.
But i also like the epilogue mission. I think having to play boxes with the glowies and make meatwalls with your units due to a lack of terrain was cool.
Excuse you I have 23 crowbars
never played front mission but I love the art.. Is the series worth giving a shot?
yeah, one bigger mecha vidya IPs so might as well try it.
It's actually older than AC
