Who did it better?

Who did it better?

Mega Men.png - 2300x1080, 368.25K

My boy .exe

MvC obviously for the personality it game him, but i can't deny how good it felt seeing that initial sm4sh megaman trailer

MvC's proportions are fucking retarded

MvC showcased the character himself in a multitude of ways within the games that existed with that rendition at the time. Smash simply showcased his NES portrayal and Mega Man 2 is the only game that exists.
The alts were worse too.

Smash megaman is fucking perfect

Mega Man 2 is the only game that exists

What are you talking about? His moveset covers 1,2,3,4,6,7,8 and fucking MvC for crying out loud.

Everything but 5 unless you count the slide damage as a Charge Kick. I don't really.

I think Smash showed him as how Sakurai sees him if he had to make a new Classic game, which I think he did wonderfully.

It just sucks dick to actually play as him.

The majority of Mega Man's representation is from 2, as well his fucking victory theme instead of the usual stage clear jingle.

Is there any special weapon you would want to swap out for the next game?

the stage jingle is a miss, but mega man 1 and 2 literally defined what classic mega man is, so I'm not surprised. His grabs are MM1, there's the up tilt from MvC, all of his aerials are not from MM2 and his design is a mix between MM1/2 and 11.

Imagine if Capcom made a game with this guy as the MC...

MvC shows him as a contemporary character, Smash views him as Ice Climber/Duck Hunt more like an NES throwback. I prefer the former myself.

MvC showcased the character himself in a multitude of ways within the games that existed with that rendition at the time

lol no it fucking didn't. His powers were just based on Megaman 8 (Saturn Version) and the rest was made up bullshit just like his personality

Well it's the ugliest design in history so it's impossible to make a good sprite for it

Smash Mega Man looks like a fucking bobblehead dude

Both are kind of sucky, but MvC takes the cake for representing him well instead of the Smash atrocity that's just a emotionless trace of his 8-bit sprite down to the proportions. I think his modern design (picrel and 11) is the greatest he's been but I wish he showed more personality. I don't like how he's serious all the time, I don't want him to be Sonic or Spider-Man but a little bit of childish innocence is fine. He's an Atom ripoff after all.

To this day I'm still pissed over the Smash shit, it was cool to have him in but every character I wanted that got in since Sonic is either misrepresented, plays like ass, or both. Simon got personality and fluidity to his animations while still referencing his sprite sometimes so why not Mega Man? Why does he need to be the 3D version of Mr. Game & Watch?

and the rest was made up bullshit

So what Smash did with most of Nintendo's characters? Not everything needs to be a reference or callback. Moreso since Sakurai himself takes liberties with other characters. It help he uses Beat and Rush for actual attacks vs. just using Rush as a recovery.

NTA but at least with Mega Man there's some basis for his depiction is what that anon is saying

Also in Smash 4 he had more of his other game moves + the other helpers

Better than those goofy ass gigantic boots

Up air is air shooter anon

Smash is Trash and I’m tired of pretending it did Megaman right

When did Megaman ever make an ahego face

Just look like a cartoon character and mix so well with Mario and the gang

Yes, because Smash only adds cartoony characters and has never used any animesque characters with semi-realistic human proportions.

Mario literally only has four? moves that relate to his video games at all, and 3 of those are from Super Mario Bros. 1

Biddy Biddy Buhh!

Cartoon characters are supposed to be expressive

Smash is the worst portrayal of Megaman I have ever seen in my life (not counting Boxart Megaman). It feels like Sakurai only played Megaman 2 and didn't touch the series beyond that point, so his only perception of Megaman was that of a soulless, emotionless, stoic machine. He also plays like crap.

The greater tragedy is SSF2 throwing out its unique Megaman playstyle and Final Smash to replicate Sm4sh's down to a T.

Don't look at MvC then, it's the worst portrayal of Megaman you'll ever see in your life.

Turning into Great Mazinger in one (1) move as an one-off joke is not misrepresentation. In fact, it's more in spirit for his character than his Smash portrayal.

I literally said that Sakurai takes liberties with characters and MvC did so for Mega Man, which seems to be a minus according to that anon.

Not if youre a robot, megaman is a stoic motherfucker

EIther bait, or a retard arguing about a series he never played

Good. Mega Man 2 is the perfect game.

Hey, that's the thing he does in Smash!

Yes one single animation as a specific callback to that specific piece of art while the rest of his original animations in the game are expressionless vapid shit out of line with his previous depictions in canon or any other extraneous material that you just argued wasn't the case, you sure got me.

you ignorant fools, both versions are great and champion different versions of megaman's legacy.
its just that MvC was more adapted for the anime and comic crossover that it was featured in and that smash's one was made with post megaman 9 & 10 in mind and thus proves how little faith capcom has on the blue bomber and what they want it to be without a lead to guide the franchise foward.
tldr; i blame crapcom not sakurai & had megaman arrived AFTER 11 the megaman we got in smash would have been widely different
but its paradoxical because it was megaman in smash that kind of led to 11 getting the green light

MvC looks like he's cumming from being pinned against a wall and getting railed from behind.

Roll...

bass finally defeated him...

coombrain

Why isn't that picture of Megaman smiling? SOULLESS ROBOT!!

Both are off the mark.
MvC made him look like a brat even though Rockmans strong sense of justice would imply he is a well behaved boy.
Smash Rockman is literally just the Famicom/NES sprite turned into a 3D model with no shits given about concept and promo art or the actual backstory of the character.

Megaman is accurate

Roll isn't

MvC is a weird game.

I don't know to what extent I believe it was actually Capcom's fault. The Mega Man Universe teaser had him emote normally and the few snippets of gameplay we saw didn't have him emote very much, but at least he looked pissed instead of emotionless so it's not like he was like in Smash. Roll acted normal in Tatsunoko and the Archie Comics were doing their thing too and that was all post 9 and before Smash.

Holy shit calm the fuck down roll

Now has to pretend to be too retarded to know the difference between being expressionless and not smiling to make an argument

Quite sad

No this version of Zero is cool and you just have no taste.

What makes Roll inaccurate, huh, buster?!

Roll.png - 171x224, 8.58K

This is the only time Smash MM smiles and even then its the art used on the MM1 title screen so Sakurai might really not have looked at any concept art that shows megaman with different expressions.

She's too incestuous

Rock and Roll are only siblings in a colloquial sense. There'd be nothing wrong with them getting married if they really wanted to because they aren't genetically related.

Even if smash didn't nail his personality, design wise is the best megaman has ever look

Light I'm onto you
I know you made a shota and a loli with accurate genitalia and then had them fuck

so it's accurate then

Here's a crude drawing of what I mean.
He's even making an ahegao face.

Mega Men.png - 1040x1080, 182.55K

They're the same height in Megaman 8 but she's some weird SD midget in MvC. They don't even look like they come from the same series.

Roll pls
