Then chapter 2 not only shows kris opening a dark fountain, but the visuals accompanying queen's monologue associate the knight with a kitchen knife.

the library and its computer room are public facilities so its far more likely that they'll be used frequently. the unused classroom is locked, and the supply closet would only be used when the need arises. that said, i did bring up the possibility of someone using the supply closet making it unlikely that the dark fountain was opened days in advance, so I also believe it was probably opened the day of chapter 1, which still makes kris an unlikely candidate
