you did not play the game you watched and YouTuber essay.

I did play the game and all the mods and I will keep doing it

watched and

you are brown.

Played & beat it several times.

i played the game and blew up the internet

you did not attend English classes.

this part is the most kino

his english is fine, retort

i have lots of dumb memories from deus ex but gamewise i think i might legitimately like invisible war more. the characters are shit though.

Which essay is the best one?

Adam Jensen > JC Denton

Wrong. Sarif was pretty great though.

No

Dated graphics too offputting. Wish this would get the Black Mesa treatment someday

the characters are fuckign classic but i remember hating the paris buildings a lot even then.

I only played Dude Sex once. Out of the classic imsim trilogy (DE, SS2, TDP) I think it aged the worst. Thief still offers fluid gameplay and amazing level design, SS2 offers, well, actual immersion, incredible atmosphere of wandering on a space ship alone, while Dude Sex hasn't got much except its hilarious Alex Jones plot and decent music. This game cannot go on for 5 minutes without something malfunctioning and everything looks boxy and gay.

I unironically prefer Mankind Divided and Human Revolution to the original.

you did not play the game you heard someone say its bad and parroted this (wrong) opinion ever since

IW.jpg - 800x1111, 132.85K

I did play it but as I used cheats to finish the second half of the game, around the point it over stayed it's welcome and become increasing worse and buggier, I did not actually beat the game.

idk about HR but mankind divided is very good. you can safely call original deus ex very quirky, invisible war was more gamey and by mankind divided it was pretty stock standard with nice writing.

Haven't played Invisible War but I did play Deadly Shadows and it was indeed shit just like the boomers said. I bet it's the same for IW.

every boss in original DE can be instagibbed with cheese you dishonest fag

It's much worse. Thief 3 at least has a few good levels

It's not so much that it's the combat is just shockingly bad. Almost like you're just trading blows with the NPCs

MD is my favourite too if you ignore that fact that Square cut the final third of the game. Amazing characters, music, enviroments (the Prague hub is insane), graphics look brand new for a 9y/o game, gameplay options are great.

the original was bad so it's okay for the sequel to be worse

I don't plan to be the one who needs saving. You want to plunge the world into chaos? Come and take it from me.

Dialogue kinda lit tho

Human Revolution had some great levels but I had so many fucking technical problems with it I never finished.

I have successfully blocked the memory of the discount faggots existing for several years.

Yes, it's the saving grace of IW. The game is actually well written, especially the factions

i still prefer HR over MD. Hengsha and rifleman bank station are one of the closest points of feeling like they are straight out of Gits in vydia. Only certain sections of cyberpunk77 expansion pack come close

that and HR has actual two hubs instead of recycling one over and over again. Although night time red district Prague was pretty kino

I hope aliens pay them to kill themselves.

I want that Star of David scepter.

I have it installed, but haven't opened it yet.
What are the must have mods for a first playthrough? I have no vanilla goggles so even major mods are fine.

I'm fine with changing a game in major ways for my first time

fine

not good enough

Nah, nigga

deusex.png - 524x327, 307.64K

aieeeeee muh developer's vision thoughbeit!!!!!

what drives vanillaniggers to be such obnoxious snobs?

Modless

I did, though. My brother got it for me as a birthday present. Took me a couple of years to finish, since I'm a slow player and tend to take long breaks, especially with open-ended/world games.

I know what you're referring to. The GITS feel is so immersive in it. Too bad it's so rare in vidya. What a shame.

sharty slang

tranny self insert photo

also hates vanilla

I'm going to take the opportunity to shill NEOTOKYO.
It's counter-strike meets ghost in the shell and it's fun as fuck.
It's a bit dead like every other 2000's sourcemod but there's a group called Active Neotokyo Players on steam that organizes semi-regular game nights.

I played the game tho. and let me just say, it's a good game but people act like it's perfect, infallible, and well, it's not. it does have some clever writing but the moment by moment gameplay? well, it's a product of its time.

Zoomer assumes everyone else is a zoomer like him

Theres no depth to the combat, no challenge to the gameplay. the entire experience is walking from point a to b and talking to people so you may as well just watch a video essay.

ctf.jpg - 600x600, 31.71K

deus exe for widescreen

I played revision. Stealthy pacifist on hardest difficulty, most challenging thing i ever did.

I wouldn't go that far but it's not
- a great stealth experience
- a great combat experience
- a great roleplaying experience

it's just so-so in all of these categories. I suppose that's the point. they wanted to offer a little bit of everything, so you're not going to get a particularly good combat or stealth system out of a game that has to cut corners like this. in fact, there's no reason this game couldn't have been a perfect dark clone. it would have been just as good, honestly.

the "imsim" elements could have still been present but making it a more focused objective based experience wouldn't have hurt it, and that's basically what they did for the jensen entries.

Fuck you i liked it.
Although doing all their achievements is sadistic, probably never gonna bother.

255

Achievementslop.

No I did play it, and I shot gunther with a rocket before the dialogue started because I was low health and shit myself upon seeing him.

I replayed it last winter, still the GOAT

These idiots just attached achievement to every npc interaction, technically it increases re-play value but in reality you just save load and get them all.

but i remember hating the paris buildings a lot even then

Video game brutalism noir is kino

I played it on release after creating a 100 page fantasy DX2 design manual as a kid and was immeasurably disappointed in how much worse it was than the original

that's cute anon

nice projection vanillatroon

I'm a bit disappointed that all of those guns and equipment are not your fantasy upgrades to the base peppergun. Pepper sniper would be pretty rad. Still, those scopes are really nice.

Have you tried the "Directors Cut" too? Though I found the original to work relatively fine on my PC. What specs you got?
Yeah I get that. MD definitely suffers from the cut London hub world.

psst. run this game on linux. works like a charm, no stuttering. not even in hengsha.

heh, you sure got em, sis!
don't forget to install female denton mods!

Nope, I did play it and video essays aren't and never will be a thing.

I played it all including: the janky fucking controls, the incredibly shitty fucking combat, the retarded amount of empty space in NY and fuck all to do in it, the fuckery of China, including getting the glitch where you get into the train station but can't get out if you don't have the boxes lined up to jump on with the strength aug and of coure, everyone's favorite moment of Paris catacombs

the fuckery of China, including getting the glitch where you get into the train station but can't get out if you don't have the boxes lined up to jump on with the strength aug

wtf are you talking about

Replay it yearly. It's the greatest game ever made. You are the most brown OP ever spayed.

Yes, I had a shitty generic 'family' PC that could barely run 2d game and wouldn't have ran tha

Another horrible thread by a braindead zoomer.

Tried playing it once, but it would always shit itself when I set the res to 1440p. And on 1080p it would refuse to go fullscreen. Mods didn't help either.
Might give it another try now that I'm on Linux.

Deus Ex is like The Matrix, Highlander, or The Land Before Time: there were no sequels, anyone who says otherwise is a liar.

fuck you it was the only thing that would run on sis mirage 3 laptop graphics (deus ex I mean, the laptop physically could not render youtube videos)

This made me have a sudden flashback of my first purchase of a PC copy. The feel of the embossed logo on the box, the crisp and small instruction manual, the slight smell of ink that seemed less strong than the Genesis or SNES game boxes.
Thank you.

you did not play the game you watched and YouTuber essay

Look how they massacre my language.

First playthrough

Get to Liberty Island final boss meetup

Cheese Saman with piloted rockets

This shit was so much fun as a kid

See
Worked for me

I DID play it, fuck ass. I just got stuck on that second New York level. The one right after the airport one.

I have played it many times.

literally how?
At that point you have a full arsenal and a ton of LAMs

I played it on ps2

True, but DX > NuDX

Finished it three times + The Nameless Mod on pirated and steam combined. I'm thinking of doing another playthrough. any recommended mods? (except revision)

file.png - 1598x387, 821.94K

do you think tom hall will ever reprise his role as walton simons? or wade walker?

Techincally they have plenty of gameplay advantages and fixes, but stories not quite as, erm, revolutionary.

Did and was pleasantly surprised. The publications at the time said it would be 'simplified' which was abhorrent to my PC tastes. Delayed purchase by a few years but no regrets.

This is why I would be a horrible game tester. "Oh, it worked? Is it supposed to work like that? Ok I guess."

GMDX is great, just turn off the stamina shit.
It introduces AI tweaks and and the ability to vault. That changes some of your options on how to approach some levels.

chew you havisfaction a singlelicious satisfact to snack that up?

I don't recall youtube essays existing in 2001.

Jesus Christ Denton mogs Aj with his name alone

I've played it about a dozen times. Most recently I did a challenge run with no mid-mission saves on realistic to spice things up. It was quite fun.

any chance of you being in the Deus Ex Hell?

and I shot gunther with a rocket before the dialogue started

this why the original mogs the reboot games. I put those motion sensing bombs which killed Gunther when he tried talking to me.

i have it installed and im waiting for when i have a bunch of free time on my hands to play it

I always blow Navarre up with a mine on Lebedev's jet. You just know modern games (and HR, for that matter) would have made it a bit moral choice as part of a cutscene to "SPARE LEBEDEV" or "KILL LEBEDEV" where DX1 doesn't even tell the player they can do that - they have to act on their principles and discover, yeah, you can tell your colleague to go fuck herself with a dozen rifle slugs. Which I think is a great way of organically tying the themes the story wants to work with into gameplay - no, you're not a puppet, Mr. Jay See Denton, you're a man, and you're going to decide what the right thing to do is without the game holding your goddamn hand for you.

+ The Nameless Mod

Based, highly underrated

While i did'nt understand some references, i still had fun with it. very much recommend it to anyone who played Deus Ex.

Rank the areas

yes

if I am in Hell than I am Arch Angel and I am in control and walk as I please, fly freely, come and go on my own fruitions. with silence and a delicate hand I pass unseen and without a trace without violence without a noise.

Amazing soundtrack
